Washing the outside of a pineapple may seem a bit extreme but the person is in Liverpool – a city that is in one of the most infected parts of the country and is full of Irish-descended scallywags who vote Labour continuously and have often had no respect for the law or authority in general hence the amount of Covid-19 infection there.
It is known that the virus can stay on surfaces for up to about two days though whether this applies to fruit is debatable. Most of our pineapples come from Costa Rica and they may be infected by the virus in a bad way though I haven’t looked-up the situation there on Wikipedia like I have for other countries. Brazil is badly affected because they have in power an absolute loon who is even more of a nutcase in this regard than the Orange Tango Man who lost what should have been a winnable election in Washington.
