I believe that the Socialist Worker Party was started and led at first by a Jew called Ygael Gluckstein, who used the Anglicized nom de guerre “Tony Cliff”. What is happening in this country is an invasion, an invasion of a formerly (and to some extent still) reasonably-civilized land by a horde of backward black/brown untermenschen from some of the most savage and uncivilized parts of the world.

Assuming Lowe’s facts to be correct, the defendant was rude to the police, pointed at them, and may have thrown a plastic bottle at their (probably armoured and helmeted) ranks.
For that, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years, so will probably be in prison for the next year. Absurdly and unfairly harsh. The maximum that could be passed in the magistrates’ court.
It is arguable that he should not have been charged at all. If he was to be charged, it should been a charge of insulting behaviour, something which might result in a fine or a suspended sentence.
The sentence passed is akin to one from Ukraine or Belarus rather than one passed by any decent English court.
In my view, both as observer (from afar) of these events and former practising barrister, the defendant, like so many others (eg Lucy Connolly and previously-tried protesters over the past 2 years) made a mistake in pleading guilty (probably on legal advice from some tick-box legal-aid solicitor and/or counsel) to the violent disorder charge.
The fact is that the System is determined to act with utmost ruthlessness and harshness to anyone protesting on the street against the continuing invasion of this country. Look at what has been happening since Starmer-stein demanded such harshness in 2024.
In my view, any credit given for a guilty plea in such circumstances is purely notional. The defendant should have pleaded Not Guilty and taken his chances with a jury (if the matter is one that a jury can hear). In that part of England, he might even have been lucky enough to get an all-white jury (violent disorder can be tried either in “the mags” or at Crown Court; if the latter, a jury trial)…
There is also the point that, to plead guilty is to make things easier for the System. Don’t do it. Don’t play their game. Judges of the sort we have seen over the past 2 years are unlikely to show mercy, or even common sense.
Incidentally, I am not just spouting from an ivory tower. I myself faced trial (in the magistrates’ court) 3 years ago, and for a political offence. I pleaded Not Guilty, but was convicted, being sentenced over two-and-a-half years ago, in March 2024: see

I have seen a few other vlog posts by that couple. Russia. China. Eritrea. North Korea. I believe that they are making quite a good income from this, maybe as much as £100,000 a year.

For example, the man there (Matt) has little time for the idea that immigrants in the UK have led to a housing shortage, yet the facts speak for themselves. That may not be the only cause of the UK housing crisis, but it is a major one, and I would argue the major one.

Once, in 1998, when I was in Egypt for three months, I met, at the oasis of Siwa, an American woman, a New Yorker, who was travelling around the world to gather material, mainly photos, for a book. Certainly one can get an impression of a place in a day or two, but superficiality is inevitable unless one at least has the background knowledge to make some sense of the impression. Incidentally, that American woman stayed at the oasis for about 20 hours; arrived on the once-a-day bus one afternoon, and departed the next day, presumably having taken a few photos to illustrate her book about her world travels.

Typical. There have been, over the years, thousands of such faked “antisemitic” attacks, including quite a few in the UK. I should think that a hung Parliament is quite likely, on present polling. Labour will fall back, the Con Party stay back, while Reform looks to have shot its bolt by being too pro-Israel, pro-Jewish lobby, by failing to be truly hardline on migration invasion, and by being far too sleazy as well. Still, Reform will get votes by not being LibLabCon; a default choice, if you like. Restore? Slightly better, ideologically, than Reform —but not much— and even more of a one-man-band than Reform. Greens? Hard to say. Will its odd alliance of “antifascist” oddities and pro-Islamist Muslims last? Maybe, maybe not.
