That maternity hospital looks as good or better than most hospitals in the UK.

Odd, in a way, though. Russian Orthodox Christmas is a couple of weeks later than the Western version, by reason of the fact that the Russian Orthodox Church applies the Julian Calendar rather than the Gregorian (even though Russia as a whole uses the Gregorian, and has done for the past 100+ years), so this upcoming Christmas in Russia will not be until 7 January 1925 by our reckoning.

Hard to think of Australia as it is now, compared to the easygoing and (except for a relatively few indigenous people) all-white society of the “Lucky Country” I saw as a child of 10-13 in the mid/late 1960s, when my family lived in Mosman and Cremorne (Sydney).
