Saturday quiz

Well, this week brings another victory over political journalist John Rentoul, who scored 5/10, whereas I managed 8/10. I did not know the answer to question 2, and I could not think of the answer to question 3 even though I “really” knew it.

From the newspapers

Look at the comments. The British people are getting angry that Britain has become the world’s dustbin.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12179613/Nadine-Dorries-resigns-hours-Boris-Johnson-force-election.html

If Nadine Dorries at least is not getting a peerage, that’s one slight mercy.

Still, other rubbish did get through. See https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jun/09/dame-priti-and-sir-party-marty-the-aides-and-allies-in-boris-johnsons-honours-list.

The Jew Dan Rosenfield [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Rosenfield] is to be elevated to the Lords, as is West Indian charity embezzler and failed London Mayoralty (etc) candidate, Shaun Bailey [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Bailey_(London_politician)#Career_before_politics].

Some woman called Charlotte Owen, apparently once “assistant” to Boris Johnson, is to be likewise elevated, at the early age of 29. Does that reward merit, or supine mediocrity (or worse)? I wonder.

I notice that Ben Houchen, once seen as a potential political star, has likewise been elevated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Houchen. A consolation prize, I suppose, for losing out on a Parliamentary seat now that the fortunes of the Conservative Party are diving in the opinion polls. The same would have been true of Alok Sharma and, possibly, Nadine Dorries, had their peerages not been blocked. Sharma and Houchen would certainly not have been re-elected or elected, respectively.

One cannot expect loyalty or even basic decency from most people. When I was disbarred (wrongfully and actually unlawfully) in 2016, some 8 years after I had ceased Bar practice, and by reason of a malicious and contrived complaint by a pack of Jews, not one member of the Bar spoke up either to support me or to defend the principles of free speech and freedom of expression. The days of the free and fearless independent Bar of England have long gone. All that remains is a mass of craven careerists, fearful that “the authorities” (suborned by the Jew/Israel lobby) will look unfavourably upon them, and/or that Jewish solicitors will blackball them in terms of giving them work.

Good to see that the appeal fund for Sven Longshanks (James Allchurch) continues to grow, albeit slowly.

This war is testing the artefacts of 21stC warfare, and reshaping what warfare is. The use of drones is only one example.

The 1953 Coronation still had something somehow sacred about it, even if perhaps not 100% genuine. Compare that to the Coronation of the new Charles III. He looked uncertain, like someone —to use the current phrase— “cosplaying” the role; an actor in a poor production, an actor slightly miscast.

No clear alternative strategy“? That has been the leitmotif of “Conservative” governments for at least 8 years now, arguably longer, so why not of “Boris”-idiot and his cohorts not in government?

  1. Obviously, some idiots believed the “Leopard” tanks were invulnerable because they are now reacting hysterically after a few of them were destroyed by the Russians. (LOL) The same applies to the much-vaunted F-16 fighter jets which, by the way, are quite old. Besides, to have a significant impact on the military situation the Ukrainians would need hundreds of them, which, of course, is not going to happen.

      As you say.

Of course, there is an element of unreality about this war.

Taking the facts to the ultimate, Russia has huge unused power, both in terms of manpower and weapons. To act as “Devil’s advocate”, Russia could, in theory, simply use its strategic nuclear arsenal, at least 10-20 missiles out of about 6,000, to flatten Kiev, other Ukrainian centres, and Ukrainian Army concentrations, but it wants to take over a territory, not an irradiated wasteland.

The Kiev regime of course has no nuclear arsenal. Neither has it a functioning economy or society now.

  2. Excellent news that the mass murderer, Boris Utter Prick Johnson has, at long last, done the decent thing and resigned from Parliament. Of course, the grotesquely self-serving and throughly immoral lying charlatan didn’t do it for any remotely decent motives but to save himself from a possible recall petition in his constituency. Yes, Johnson was a vain, immoral, self-serving coward to the very end.

This country and the fake Conservative Party is well shot of the moronic charlatan/gormless clown.

Hopefully, they will lose the upcoming by-elections and their MPs will kick out the throughly unwanted Extra From The Jewel In The Crown.

He is just as immoral as the charlatan chancer and grifter was but is more skilful at hiding it. One thing you can say for Johnson is that he only became a criminal once in No. 10 whereas the present chancer is more deplorable as he developed his criminal tendencies BEFORE being put into a formerly prestigious address.

The Tory Party has one last chance this autumn to get this right. I suggest they wipe the slate completely clean and ensure the next leader has NO close association with the immoral, globalist stain that was Boris Johnson.

Step forward Penny Mordaunt. She, at least, had the good sense and character to avoid serving under Johnson.

I cannot agree that Johnson’s lack of character and decency was not in evidence prior to his unmerited promotion to Prime Minister. It was in evidence since at least 2003 if not before. Many might say, “since he was a student”.

      1. I am referring to his proven CRIMINAL tendencies not to the obvious fact that he was simply unsuitable to be PM at all which as we know his former employer, Max Hastings, of the Daily Telegraph warned the Conservative Party about in 2019.

The far more naturally able Jeremy Hunt should have got the job but, alas, the Tory Party was then and in large part still is consumed by a mania for Brexit to the point of utter fanaticism hence they elected Boris with the all too predicted results.

    2. You have a way with words Steven! “Vain, immoral, self-serving coward” (LOL) However, and this is very annoying, the “gormless clown” will live to enjoy the undeserved monies he got through bribes he took while in power (like almost every politician) plus a big fat cheque which he already got for his worthless “Memoirs” that will be publish late this year if my information is correct.

I have to say I agree with Ian with regards to Boris’ early display of incompetence. I remember reading an article by the great military historian Max Hastings who was Boris’ boss in the “Daily Telegraph” during the late 1980s. In that article Hastings painted a terrible (but real) picture of Johnson, as an incompetent fool. By the way, here is the article (you will notice that Boris looks always like a complete idiot, regardless the angle from which the photo has been taken)

  3. The honors system should be scrapped. That the utterly useless Boris Johnson fan, Priti Patel, is now a Dame surely loses it any remaining form of credibility.

The system has been a farce for a very long time now but giving that honor to Priti Useless is, frankly, taking the piss.

  4. If the Tories boot out another leader this Autumn people will whinge and call for an election and yes it might be called excessive but if you look at British history many PMs haven’t lasted even one year in office. I believe there are about eight who fall into that category so we would only be going back to an earlier era. Sir AlecDouglas Hume, for instance, became PM in 1963 and only lasted 363 days in office. Harold Wilson won in 1964 but only had a majority of three.

  5. Re this war in Ukraine. I want it to end quickly so that the suffering of so many ceases and because I don’t want Europe or Britain embroiled in a nuclear conflict.

Sadly, there are many globalist idiots in Britain and elsewhere who want it to drag on and on:

This cretin is one of the more glaring examples.

I see that he, along with many other globalists, is getting increasingly annoyed that the world’s richest or second wealthiest man, Elon Musk, took over Twitter and is allowing some form of free speech.

  6. Apparently, Boris sabotaged talks aimed at ending this conflict in Ukraine. That doesn’t come as a surprise seeing as his political hero was the warmonger Liberal Party/Conservative Party flip flopper Churchill who REAL Tories in the 1930’s hated.

Good riddance to bad globalist rubbish, I say.

Now, we shall have to work on getting rid of another globalist chancer in that unelected Indian fellow.

Did you see a truly god awful piece of crap poltical commentary jn the Daily Tory Moron yesterday praising the charlatan Boris ?

The idiot who wrote it lauded Boris as a poltical genius for getting Brexit done. Would that be the same so-called Brexit that HAS NOT been completed yet ie NI is still firmly within the structures of the EU thanks to the NI Protocol and the latest sham called the Windsor Framework?

God, the media in this country who spent years building up the charlatan are so filled to the brim with congenital idiots.

The msm has been promoting “Boris” for 20+ years. Part of it, perhaps most of it, has been the Jew-Zionist element, not so much because Johnson is part-Jew, but more because he is the perfect NWO/ZOG puppet— part-Jew, part-Muslim origins, born in New York, brought up in several different countries, eager to receive money, and without any political or personal principles.

The parallels with Churchill (encouraged by Johnson himself) are superficial. Johnson is like a small-scale copy of Churchill, pretends to be like Churchill, even tries to talk and walk like Churchill, but has no real content. A Madame Tussaud waxwork replica, at best.

      1. Brilliant words Ian! “He tries to talk and walk like Churchill, but has no real content” (LOL) Funny enough, Max Hastings said something very similar in the article that I have just posted:

“Like many showy personalities, he is of weak character. I recently suggested to a radio audience that he supposes himself to be Winston Churchill, while in reality being closer to Alan Partridge.”

PS: I do not know who Alan Partridge is but it sounds like a pathetic fellow… (LOL)

  7. Starmer, meanwhile, is a deeply uninspiring, arrogant, blank sheet of paper that offers pretty much nothing to the British people.

He is also a very untrustworthy character in that he has broken every single one of his pledges to his party. He has a nice line in sneaky snitch like behaviour ie his cowtowing to the Zionist Israel First Board of Deputies of British Jews by writing them a letter condemning Roger Waters and promising them his upmost support in confronting Waters about his so-called ‘anti-semitism’.

What a deeply unpleasant man, Keir Starmer is.

Roger Waters is no ‘anti-semite’ just someone concerned about the Zionist State’s increasingly brazen and brutal persecution and oppression towards the Palestinian people.

As Roger Waters is a very wealthy man, it would be good to see him engage the services of a good lawyer and sue nasty Keir Starmer for defamation of character.

This country needs to be aware of the fact that the ONLY country Keir Starmer is loyal towards is Israel. Indeed, his abject loyalty towards Israel and Pro Israel extremists like the Zionist Board of Deputies is his only real principle.

      Reading the Wikipedia entry
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chase_a_Crooked_Shadow

I think that I may have seen it long ago.

Incidentally, I once saw Richard Todd (a very famous film actor in the UK in the 1950s etc) on stage, about 1985 I think, at the Mayfair Theatre in London. I had offered to take my girlfriend’s young son (I think about 8 or 9 at the time) to see the play (a murder mystery, the name and plot of which I forget).

I have just now found in Wikipedia the play I saw nearly 40 years ago:
