Clown. Ed Davey is a joke. All the same, the Post Office miscarriages of justice scandal proved both his culpability and his lack of decency. If he is a joke, the joke is a bad one.
Moscow has been razed to the ground at least twice in its history. Kiev too has been devastated, several times in history and most recently in the 1940s. While the destruction of a whole city is a terrible thing and a terrible crime, it may be that the only way for this present war to end is for Kiev to cease to exist for the time being.
[“Zelensky claims that Ukraine, for the first time, used its FP-7 “Pelican” ballistic missile in combat operations, and the target was unspecified (not in the Moscow region, as that area is beyond the missile’s range).
Other munitions reportedly used by Ukraine during the massive nighttime attack (on the Moscow region and other areas) included FP-1 missiles, RZ-100 “Morok” drones, “Lutsi” missiles, and long-range MICH-2000 drones; medium-range “Vendetta” and “Sich” drones launched from a larger carrier drone; as well as “Paljanitsa” and “Bars” missile drones.”]
The United States possesses the greatest military-destructive power ever seen on Earth. However, that is not the same as possessing a true imperial instinct. Neither does it necessarily preclude an objectively far weaker state from outmanoeuvring the stronger power.
[“Legends Die but Are Never Forgotten
America’s first Secretary of Defense opposed rushing to recognize Israel. Not because he hated Jews. Because he thought it would blow up U.S. relations with the Arab world and put Middle East oil, the fuel of the American industrial machine, at risk.
George Marshall agreed with him. The Joint Chiefs agreed with him. That didn’t matter.
What followed was a smear campaign. Drew Pearson and Walter Winchell spent months calling him dangerous, unpatriotic, even a coward. They didn’t debate his policy. They went after his sanity and his manhood.
By the time Truman forced him out in March 1949, the press had already written the ending: Forrestal wasn’t a strategist. He was “crazy.”
Five days later he was locked in Bethesda Naval Hospital. Seven weeks after that, on May 22, 1949, they said he “fell” from a 16th-floor window.
His own brother Henry Forrestal said the nervous-breakdown story was garbage and that James was coherent when they pushed him out.
A hospital corpsman pulled a priest aside that morning and told him Forrestal didn’t kill himself.
Journalist William Bradford Huie wrote that the truth had been suppressed, that Forrestal had been treated like a prisoner, and that his own priest couldn’t even see him.
The Navy’s official Willcutts report, buried for 55 years, never even concluded suicide. It only said he died from the fall and that no one in the Navy was at fault.
Broken glass was later reported on the bed. The scene was cleaned before it was photographed.
They paint you insane. Then they write the obituary. Then they tell you to stop asking questions.
Where have we seen this before?
Never forget what they did to James Forrestal.
The same playbook is still in use.”]
Interesting. I had not known that.
I note from Wikipedia that, though Forrestal’s diaries were published after his death, they were censored prior to publication. Apparently, a full version has been published more recently.

[“Global oil reserves could reach an operational minimum of 6.8 billion barrels as early as this month if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed – JPMorgan.
Below this level, pipelines will be unable to maintain the necessary pressure, and refineries will begin to experience disruptions, regardless of the oil price.
According to the bank, this could be the first time in history that the world will face not only rising oil prices but also the risk of a physical shortage of the raw material itself.”]
[“No to war, no to weapons!”
Former Italian Prime Minister and leader of the “Five Star” movement, Giuseppe Conte, has spoken out against further increases in military spending in a country with a national debt exceeding €3.2 trillion (over 137% of GDP). In his view, the priority should be supporting citizens, families, and businesses.“]
This is not a “debate”, this is the opening stage of a civil/social/racial war.
[“This only shows the extent to which the English people have been gaslit.
Britishness is a state/national identity tied to citizenship.
Englishness, instead, has a longstanding ethnic & ancestral dimension that predates the state.
I wouldn’t walk into Japan and announce I am ethnically Japanese.
Nor would I walk into China and declare I am Han Chinese.
Only commentators in England maintain this nonsense.
Why?
Because they want to eradicate the boundaries of national identity.
It’s strange having to restate this every six months.“]
A long-term propaganda exercise, decades-old, and now promoted across the UK, particularly in schools.
Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan.
Britain now has (no-one knows exactly) maybe 70M inhabitants. Would it be so bad if there were only, say, 7M, if all were real Brits?
Poland (which I visited several times in the late 1980s) is replete with historical sights: castles, religious shrines, musical and artistic remembrances, mountains, lakes etc, but no, those idiots and others want to go to a kind of unpleasant theme park based on a fable which is mainly unproven.
What they are visiting is a supposed “reconstruction”, which was built in the decades following WW2. The original Auschwitz labour camp complex was destroyed in 1944 and 1945. Nothing of it remains, and it has never been proven, even on a balance of probabilities, that “gas chambers” ever existed there.
Needless to say, I did not visit that rip-off theme park when I visited Poland, even though I spent quite some time in Bielsko-Biala, which is not very far away.

Ian = 9+1+5 = 15 = 6
Robert = 9+6+2+5+9+2 = 33 = 6
Millard = 4+9+3+3+1+9+4 = 33 = 6
(so why am I not the ruler of the world? Must be some mistake in that theory!)…
I agree, but that is a bit of a straw man argument, because only a few brainless “libertarians” (usually young people with affluent parents) advocate such policies.
