Battles past

From the newspapers

Strange. I did not see such concern about British people facing homelessness.

We have to stop, and then reverse, this tide of migration-invasion.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/jun/10/uk-launches-150m-fund-help-ukrainians-into-own-homes.

More nonsense. 90% of Ukraine is not directly in a war zone.

Britain 2023, and it is getting worse daily.

Peter Hitchens

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-12181455/PETER-HITCHENS-70-years-sex-education-proof-doesnt-work.html.

Hitchens gives some information about the “Hungarian” Communist activist Georg Lukacs, but not the crucial fact that Lukacs was a Jew: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gy%C3%B6rgy_Luk%C3%A1cs.

One has to ask, at least rhetorically, why so many in the UK msm, politics, legal professions etc run so scared of the Jewish lobby? They need backbone.

Another enemy of Britain’s history and legacy. Whatever the flaws of the British Empire, it was still a hugely civilizing influence in the world. It should never have been dismantled so swiftly (if at all). The same goes for the other European empires (especially the French).

Good to see that people (on both sides) are actively rescuing and helping animals affected by the human conflict.

“Grifters” of the “Supertanskiii” and “Jack Monroe” type are, from what I have read and seen, subsidized mostly by pathetic men “of a certain age”. God knows what motivates anyone to give anything to such idiots, who however are cunning enough to be, apparently, making a good living out of their nonsense. “Supertanskiii” seems to be a one-trick-pony, who thinks that regularly saying “fuck the Tories” is a serious political statement. The mystery remains, though (with her even more than with “Jack Monroe”)— why do the mugs keep paying out?

The Trigan Empire

I notice that Boris Johnson, as a child, apparently seems to have enjoyed a series of cartoons, published in various magazines and in book form, called The Trigan Empire. Some years earlier, in 1966, I myself, aged 9, had enjoyed the same series, though only for a year (in 1967, my family relocated from the UK to Australia, where the weekly publication Look and Learn was unavailable; at least, I never saw it).

Quite a striking saga: I can still recall a few scenes. I was, until today, unaware that it had been published elsewhere than in Look and Learn. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trigan_Empire; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Look_and_Learn.

  1. Increasinlgy over the years, I’ve come to view Hitchens as simply another ‘safety valve’ commentator. He will never speak of real source of so many of the problems he has become rich lamenting over. He still regurgitates the idea that what has been done is because of politicians ‘making mistakes’. Once one becomes aware of the real root of the malise of the West, Hitchens polemics can be seen for the empty posturing they really are.

He’s like the voluble loudmouth who tells you that you’re under attack, but will attack you if you identify those doing the attacking.

To Hitchens, one of the greatest crimes is to be ‘Anti-semitic’, he’s a fervent supporter of Israhell, and offers no meaningful opposition.

      That, of course, is correct.

Hitchens himself is part-Jew, as you will know. I blogged about Hitchens some years ago, in 2019:

      Peter Hitchens and His Views

Hitchens spends much time opposing in print electric scooters, marijuana abuse etc, and I myself oppose both, and am with him on various other matters , but he all but ignores more serious and pressing issues.

  2. What a horrible person that “Supertanskii” woman is! Even her nickname is idiotic. Listening to her is already a painful experience. I would use her videos to torture criminals I bet they will confess fairly quickly. (LOL)

Yet the “Supertanskiii” creature has 171,000 “followers” on Twitter (for what that may be worth). Her “analysis” of politics is entry-level System…no such thing, she avers, as secret globalist groups (ignoring the Bilderberg cabal, WEF, Trilateral Commission etc etc); no such thing, she implies (never mentions it) as a Jew-Zionist/Israel lobby. All that matters, to her, is to support some version of “Labour” (or, if unavoidable, LibDems or SNP) and to stick it to “the Tories”.

Laughably unsophisticated, politically, and she buys into every System narrative going (eg the “Covid” panicdemic).

“Supertanskiii” could even be a System set-up, but I think that she is probably just out to “grift” as much as possible from mugs, in the manner of “Jack Monroe” and others.

  3. Hitchens is a fraud for the most part. Evidence for that is he was a stern critic of the BNP and yes they did get many things wrong but the party’s ideology was basically a form of national-conservatism roughly akin to the German Afd party or Marine Le Pen’s National Rally.

The BNP wanted to give judges the option of sentencing a criminal to die via the hangman’s noose just like Hitchens apparently wants to – one example of a similarity in views.

  4. The British Empire was a force for good mostly. Its record was an excellent one with relatively few abuses or outrageously cruel episodes.

Those who criticise it relentlessly usually have a classic chip on their shoulder anti-British agenda and often are of Third World origin who are, frankly, envious of Britons.

France’s Empire and especially Germany’s had far more dire episodes eg the genoicide by German colonial authorities in what is now Namibia.

How many of our ex colonies are as successful or more so since we relinquished control? Off the top of my head, the only black one seems to be Barbados whilst an Asian one would be, undoubtedly, Singapore. I would include Hong Kong in that list but it seems as if the regime in Beijing is sadly ruining our former colony.

You might add to that short list the Cayman Islands, though that self-governing British Overseas Territory has become financially successful at the cost (in my view, having been there) of throwing away, to a large extent, the laid-back Caribbean ethos far more evident in other places. Cayman is rather “Switzerland in the Caribbean”, and that is only partly (in my opinion, again) a compliment…

“The territory is a major world offshore financial centre for international businesses and wealthy individuals, largely as a result of the state not charging taxes on any income earned or stored.[8]

With a GDP per capita of $91,392, the Cayman Islands has the highest standard of living in the Caribbean.[9] Immigrants from over 130 countries and territories reside in the Cayman Islands.”

      1. Yes, the Cayman Islands are obviously very successful as is Bermuda but they are not fully independent and remain under the possibility of the British appointed governor stepping in and governing them directly if the local administration goes awry as happened to the Turks and Caicos Islands due to a corruption scandal and the local PM being suspected of being involved in drug trafficking.

As they are not totally sovereign
I don’t include them in my list of successful ex colonies.

  5. So the unelected and totally unwanted, immoral, confirmed criminal and Extra from A Passage To India is wasting, YET AGAIN, more of our hard earned money on the shambolic almost Third World crap hole that is the Ukraine.

Can someone please tell me how he represents ANY real change from the useless, immoral, confirmed criminal, self serving charlatan that was Boris?

Oh well, with any luck, those three by elections will result in massive Tory losses and the nightmare of the Indian’s misrule will soon be over.

      1. Yes, there is no real choice in this formerly great country. You can have a deeply anti-British, anti-democratic, authoritarian, self-serving total arsehole in Sunak or you can have the same via the terminally uninspiring, pro Israel Lobby puppet that is Starmer.

There is your ‘choice’. No wonder the joke of the fake non nationalist, globalist SNP is still showing signs of life.
