Battles past

Looks like the North Cornwall beaches are now very different from when my family camped at Treyarnon in, if I recall, 1965. I would have been about 8 years old. Denis Healey also used to camp there with his wife and children in those days, though I do not believe I ever saw him. Imagine a Cabinet minister (he was Secretary of State for Defence) doing that now!

When I later (2002-2004) lived not so far away (having leased one of the largest country houses in Cornwall, about 4 miles north of Launceston), we only rarely visited the not-far-away North Cornwall beaches, and only in the colder months, when most are deserted.

Most of Africa was once under European control, and was better for it. All of Africa should be under European control.

Terrible. It will not always be like that, though.

Stalingrad, largely razed in 1942, recovered, was renamed Volgograd (1961) and is today a thriving city (as are the Japanese cities devastated in WW2— Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki etc): see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volgograd

The lesson? That life does, eventually, go on…

These are the people who sit in Whitehall and the Pentagon, and think that they could defeat Russia in three days, and cost-free.

The police, HMRC, and charity regulators really should be looking seriously into “Jack Monroe”.

As of today, 397 utter mugs are still sending her money every month, totalling thousands of pounds each month.

[Greta Nut]

I have to admit, I rather like that blondinka. Hard-core.

Ha ha! Stupid loonie; totally brainwashed. She may be right though, in thinking (feeling) that she has no future…(I daresay that her —probably— affluent parents will bail her out, both literally and metaphorically).

“Jack Monroe” has pulled the old “suicide” trick quite a few times, and it always seems to co-incide with occasions when there is much scrutiny of her obvious “grifting” and outright fraud. The depressing thing is that many mugs fall for it every single time.

Odessa, not “Odesa”…

  1. Love the video of the Germans against the loonies from “Just Stop Oil”, time for the English to grow some and imitate them (LOL). How funny was that hysterical loony crying over “global warming” (LOL)

      1. Yes, I do agree. Also, as John has rightly pointed out, there has been (and still is) an awful, criminal disregard for Mother Nature and the environment from almost all great companies and governments. The root of all this is GREED, the root of ALL evil.

Having said that, those hateful loonies from JSO and their ilk deserved to be thrown in jail and forced to do hard labour to pay for all the misery and grief they caused to innocent people. The f… cowards will NVER target the big nobs of the great corporations responsible for the appalling pollution the world is suffering.

      2. Climate change IS happening and whilst some of it is natural a great proportion of it IS man made and due to the burning of fossil fuels which includes oil. Those are the scientific facts as established by the majority of the world’s most eminent scientists who specialise in this area of research.

Thick and utterly incompetent, petty tyrant, libertarian extremist morons like Suella think differently but REAL experts know better.

The Conservative Party might think there is electoral milage in appealing to dimwits who read ‘The Scum’ and their base of 70, 80, 90 year olds soon to depart this earth who have similar opinions and don’t care as they won’t be with us for much longer but they are wrong on that.

They would be better advised to listen to people like John Selwyn Gummer/Lord Debden on this matter. He is far more intelligent with regard to this issue.

The Tory Party needs to have at least SOME electoral support from younger people if it is going to survive let alone prosper so it would be well advised to listen to people like Lord Debden on climate change.

Brexit has already weakened its support levels from younger age groups which were already poor so being perceived as climate change denialists will only make that worse.

    2. Germany should be ashamed it has people like her using violence and thuggery like that. They used to be a people renowned for their discipline levels. Indeed, one consequence of that was the cleanliness of their streets ect which is something I experienced as a German language learning schoolboy on a school exchange trip. I haven’t been back to Germany since but it appears there has been a marked decline in their discipline levels which is a shame.

  2. What a wonderful piece of technology from Alstom! Now, we need to accelerate the development of electric passenger planes. This will take some time as it needs much more advanced batteries to be made than are currently available so that the huge energy expended on lifting a plane off the ground and putting it into flight with passengers, crew, luggage can be feasible.

A small private jet using battery power is already in existence.

Plane travel is the worst form of transportation for excess emissions.

I believe that some more advanced form of Zeppelin is the way forward, but so far I am in a tiny minority holding that view. That, though, has never worried me…

  3. What a disgrace and shame is that story from Germany. At one time, Germany was renowned for the discipline levels of its people not just under ‘Der Fuhrer’ but more recently as in the 1950’s to 1960’s which no doubt was a part of the reason for the post war economic miracle.

Indeed, this reputation for national discipline was still evident when I visited it as a German language learning schoolboy on a school exchange.

Germany has gone to pot and this is not entirely the fault of Angela Merkel and her migration-invasion.

  4. I bet that German woman is a supporter of the Afd party. Normally, they are a good national-conservative/nationalist party but they have many climate change denialists within their ranks.

I think there is a certain cynical reason for this stance and that is being denialists of often human made climate change is their way of protecting the German car industry.

Once China gets the hang of quality control, Germany’s car industry could be under some threat as China is investing huge sums in its electric car making capacity and electric battery research.

Stupid loonies blocking roads will no more stop “climate change” (insofar as it is a reality) than the “Greenham Common Women” stopped deployment of cruise missiles etc in the UK. Peripheral. Irrelevant.

      1. It will help to stop irreversible climate change IF governments act. Of course, for that to happen a country needs to have politicians with foresight and an IQ level. We have selfish, self-serving dullards like Suella, Rishi and Keir Starmer who won’t say boo to a goose in case the Daily Mail does a hate session on him.

  5. Climate change is an issue for the ‘Right’ of politics as well as the ‘ Left’ indeed this is particularly so for those on the anti-globalist, anti-mass migration-invasion, nationalist ‘Right’.

Do we really wish to see yet more ‘refugees’ in Europe and Britain? Do we want refugees to be allowed to say they are fleeing climate change and for the pro open borders, globalist ‘ Left’ to give credibility to them on that basis?

  6. The reason our Indian, screeching, big mouthed, useless bitch of a Home Secretary rants about the Just Stop Oil protestors is because the woman clearly lacks a decently high IQ level and has no confidence in her arguments hence she doesn’t do what she should do ie invite the leaders of Just Stop Oil to public debates with her and preferably have them on national TV.

Singapore’s government has got utterly sick and tired of Richard Branson ranting on Twitter, his blog and in public about that country’s use of hanging for drug dealers so its Home Secretary, Mr K Shanmugam, invited Branson to a live debate with him over this subject on Singaporean national tv and offered to pay for Branson’s air fare to Singapore and his hotel costs even though Branson is a multi-billionare.

Branson has refused the debate which tends to indicate he has no confidence in his arguments against Singaporean drug laws and their use of capital punishment for drug offences.

Like the ever tiresome Richard Branson and his arrogant interference into Singaporean internal affairs, Suella should either put-up or SHUT-UP.

  7. If only Suella would just do the decent thing at long last and just die. She is an utterly useless Home Secretary who does eff all about controlling our borders yet acts like a petty tyrant.

The screeching, big mouthed, ugly cow is intensely disliked by virtually everyone with a brain. Please God, strike her down with a fatal lightning strike and soon!

  8. The useless, screeching harriden and petty tyrant that is Suella is no asset to her party. She is almost universally loathed by the public and is no doubt a big reason for their very deep levels of unpopularity.

Can’t we have a Home Secretary that has a measure of intelligence, basic fitness for the job and civility/decorum like Douglas Hurd? He was a leftist in criminal justice matters so I would disagree with him a lot with regard to that but at least he displayed those human qualities. Suella doesn’t though.

  9. Here is a nice medley of British marches representing the Royal Navy, the Army, the Royal Marines and the RAF. With regards to the latter, its march is very bland/mediocre; a far superior march is “Holyrood”, the quick march of the RAF Regiment and as a second option I would choose “The Dambusters”.

  10. Here is an unusual, and very nice, British march, which I am sure you and other readers may be familiar with, I said “unusual” because its title is “The Army, the Navy and the Air Force”, a nice tribute to the three branches of the armed forces.
