MATT GOODWIN: Obsessing over illegal migrants in small boats is a bit like worrying about an unlocked first-floor window when the front door is wide open.”

Exactly what I have been saying on the blog for years. The cross-Channel migration-invasion is only a tenth, if that (maybe a twentieth) of all non-European immigration into the UK.

Sinn Fein is just a bad joke now.

As I have consistently blogged for nearly 2 years, Russia cannot “lose” the Ukrainian war, strategically.

Isabel Oakeshott, once you take away the superficially articulate self-confidence, is an ignorant creature, scribbling and appearing on TV to make money. As for her boyfriend, Tice, the leader of the Farage vehicle “Reform UK”, he too strikes me as little more than mediocre, speaking politically. Also, like Farage, he is a complete puppet of the Israel lobby, so as far as I am concerned, that’s Tice binned…

“Reform UK” is just a pointless thing: a slightly more populist, slightly more anti-immigration version of the Conservative Party. Very much “controlled opposition”.

Still, the one good thing about “Reform UK” is that, out of desperation, many native Brits may vote for it next year, at the 2024 General Election. Matt Goodwin forecasts 10% or even 15%. If so, the Conservative Party, which is surely at the end of the line, will be as good as terminated even if (as is possible and probable) “Reform UK” gets no seats at all.

If “Reform UK” gets a nationwide 15% next year, and if the Conservative Party manages only 20%, the result (using Electoral Calculus) would be that the Conservative Party will be left with only 49 seats: https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html.

One or two people I knew used to get angry with me when I said that both the white Rhodesians (from 1979) and the white South Africans (from 1994) surrendered power, in effect, “for a swimming pool”, meaning their “way of life”. They were all too ready to accept the global conspiracy’s presentation of Mugabe and Mandela as “educated”, “civilized” leaders who respected the minority of white “settlers” (in the case of South Africa, “settlers” who, in some cases, could trace their ancestors having lived in Africa back to the 17th Century, longer than many of the Africans in that part of the continent).

So it was that that, for a while, the Rhodesians were able to keep living a comfortable life, until, about a decade later, the African mob realized that their lives had, if anything, deteriorated under “African” “majority” rule. Mugabe then appointed Africans to high positions and allowed approved Africans to seize white-owned farms; sometimes the real owners were just killed. All the while, the BBC and msm generally in the UK continued to praise the Mugabe regime. Eventually, of course, the economy, currency, and society generally collapsed.

In South Africa, a more complex society, and one which had at one time about 20% of its population white European, the process has been slower but similar. For quite a while, the white Europeans (English and Afrikaaner “Dutch”) were able to pretend that all was sort-of well: SUVs, rugby shirts, braai (barbecue) gatherings…Sadly, the South African train has pretty much hit the buffers now. The ANC has ruined South Africa, and the African urban and rural masses are angry that their lives have not improved.

As for white South Africans, they have voted with their feet.

The absurd thing is that both white societies could have held out. Once the Soviet Union collapsed (officially, 1991, but really from 1989), the ending of Soviet funding for the ANC and other “liberation” movements shifted the strategic balance. South Africa need never have held the whites-only Referendum which (thanks to propaganda) delivered a vote to bin apartheid by about 69% to 31% of the vote.

Rhodesia was in a more difficult position militarily, admittedly, but probably could have carried on until 1989/1990.

How long before South Africa descends totally into chaos and bloodshed? Maybe another decade.

Using Electoral Calculus, that would leave the Con Party with 124 seats, far worse than in 1945 (197) or 1997 (165), but not necessarily completely “existential”. https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html.

If, however, Reform UK gets a 15% slice next year, rather than 9%, and if that increase comes from former Con and Lab voters equally, the 124 Con MPs reduce to 115. If Reform UK gets 15% and the extra 6 points come exclusively from former Con voters, then the number of Con MPs reduces further, to 47. Big difference.

I should have thought that Reform UK voters are mostly discontented former Con voters.

  1. Isabel Oakeshott, yes disabled people ARE an big untapped resource as are the large numbers of long-term unemployed but too often employers don’t want to hire them.

The welfare system needs INVESTING in not denied resources by penny pinching, bigoted Tory scum so that those people can get work training ect and not have to jump through endless often insane hoops just to get a pittance (it is a FACT that British benefits are the LOWEST in Western Europe)

Currently, people on benefits spend more of their time worrying about how to perform like seals in the circus in order to get enough benefits to survive than they do doing something useful to get work.

That is the reality of New Labour and Tory destruction of our welfare state.

The welfare system DOES need reform but it needs to be intelligent and humane reform and that will cost money but it will save money in the longterm.

The disabled and long term unemployed have many barriers to work and one of them is the heartless bigots too often employed by the cretins of the Department of Work and Pensions egged on as they are by moronic politicians who don’t have a clue like Iain Dumbo Smith and evil rags like the Daily Mail.

Giving employers endless supplies of cheap labour in the form of no real immigration control at all isn’t helping these people either. It is time that this drug addiction by employers was turned off and they were forced to go ‘cold turkey’.

  2. Apartheid SA was a great country in many ways. Israel can be described as an Apartheid state like SA was yet British governments fervently back the Zionist entity but did not when it came to SA.

This is hypocrisy and shows how anti-British our governments are because SA was an ex British Dominion, supported us in WW1 and WW2, had our Queen as Head of State until 1961, the Union Flag was a part of its national flag and a decent proportion of its white population were of British descent.

  3. To be frank, it is a disgrace that Apartheid SA wasn’t supported by us when they gave us loyal backing in two world wars. The US nearly stayed-out of WW1 and was slow to enter the Second World War yet British governments hardly ever say boo to them with the last time being Harold Wilson’s rejection of involvementi in Vietnam.

you may be interested to know that, before his mind deteriorated, Harold Wilson recalled being visited at Downing Street by LBJ. Mid-1960s.

Vietnam was discussed, and Wilson refused to get British troops involved. LBJ then asked whether Wilson had heard what the Poles were saying. Wilson recalled that he racked his brains to think of anything of note recently said by Gomulka or other Polish leaders. However, it turned out that LBJ meant “the polls”, not “the Poles”…in those days, British prime ministers did not formulate policy depending on what the opinion polls were claiming to be public opinion.

  4. The Budget was supposedly popular according to some but if the first opinion carried out afterwards is any indication it hasn’t improved the popularity of the libertarian globalist non Conservative Party. They are on just 21% of the vote and heading for an absolute hiding whenever they have the bravery to call the election.

Many expect the polling for the two main System parties to converge. Maybe, but my view at the moment is that the Con Party will do worse the longer it is seen as being too frightened to call a General Election.

There *is* a kind of hard core or irreducible element (of voters who will vote Con whatever). I had thought that that was around 25% or maybe 20%, but it may be as low as 15%. Hard to say.

There is another point: a further year without a GE means the departure of many of the older Con voters, and also means the registration of many 18-y-o voters (hardly any of whom now are Con supporters).

      1. It is probably around 20%. There was one poll last year during the historically brief Premiership of ‘The Lettuce’, Liz Truss, that, unbelievably, had them on just 14% but it wasn’t replicated in a trend.

Importing hundreds of thousands of immigrants per year isn’t just grotesquely irresponsible in all manner of ways and is helping to deprive us of our one and only homeland it will also lower the Conservative Party’s core vote share.

Enoch Powell was passionately opposed to mass immigration not just because he was an intelligent and genuine British patriot but also due to the fact he could see that many immigrants would never vote Tory.

The Conservative Party really isn’t called ‘Britain’s Stupid Party’ for no reason!

For me, this goes, it must go, beyond those domestic factors. All the System parties are adherent in practice to the transnational “Western” agenda(s)— the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan, globalism, the attack on freedom of expression, and so on.

      3. The Labour vote share doesn’t look as if it will fall below 40%. One poll very recently put it at that score which is probably due to the Israel/Palestine situation and Muslim and lefty disenchantment with Sir Kid Starver’s, “I am a Zionist without qualification” stance.

The only hope for the Tories is to significantly improve their own vote share or for the opposition vote to split more against them. So far either scenario isn’t happening.

  5. What an unpleasant Zionist fanatic is at the top of this Twitter/X account at the moment:

Laughing at the stabbing of Irish children is not decent behaviour!

It is appalling to laugh at that incident especially if you do so on account of your view that the Republic of Ireland is the most anti-semitic, most pro Palestinian and most pro Hamas country in Europe.

You can be anti-Zionist without necessarily being
‘anti-semitic’ and anyway you don’t have to be Jewish in order to be a Zionist.

What would be the point of being ‘anti-semitic’ in the ROI anyway when it is a country where there are very few Jews living there ie only about 2,500?

  6. Hello Ian: I think that SA will collapse in about 5 years. From what I saw and read the situation is terrible over there. I do not have any sympathy for the White South Africans, they gave in without a fight when they should have known what kind of savages they were dealing with.

The cowardly Boers, went soft, as it ALWAYS happens, thanks to the corrupting influence of comfort and wealth and sold their future because they WANTED to believe the lies of De Klerk. They thought that things would carry on very much as always and there was no need to worry. Serves them right!

I have to agree. Most of the (white) South Africans I have ever met, almost all in fact, have been very full of themselves, absolutely sure that nowhere is as good as South Africa (even in the ANC era), rather loud in their opinions etc. Yet when push came to shove, all those loud self-opinionated women and loud, rugby-type men in rugger shirts, driving SUVs etc, caved in because of their wish to live in comfort and their wish to be “acceptable” to the rest of the developed world. Useless. They always cite “world opinion” as the reason they gave in…

Many white South Africans work in the UK for much of the year. Doctors in hospitals etc. The money they can make here, on short-term contract, can be £500, or even thousands, *per day*. A hundred thousand or more a year. A fortune in South Africa, as the Rand slid in value. There was an improvement after 2016 but in 2022 another fall, and as of today the Rand is weaker yet. A full-land-grab populist African government would cause a catastrophic slide in exchange value.

      1. Funny that you dislike White South Africans, my wife does too, but for a different reason, she considers them the dirtiest and nastiest rugby players in the world (LOL).

I remember meeting in Sydney in 1996 the owners of “Tie Rack Australia”, they were a family of rather young (in their mid-30s) South African Jews. Perhaps they saw what was coming and took off early…

I would not exactly say that I “dislike” (all) white South Africans, and have been friendly with a few, but most seem to have a built-in arrogant confidence (perhaps because they were automatically the upper social stratum back home) which grates hugely on me. Also, their social and political views are not infrequently brainless.

  8. Reform Party supporters are almost exclusively disillusioned Tories.

The Reform Party should do what Matt Goodwin suggests and focus on migration. If they did they could go up to 15% and cause havoc at the election.

Perhaps, they should rename themselves the Alternative For Britain Party (AfB) after Germany’s Afd and follow that sort of agenda.

This country needs a genuine alternative to the globalist Lib /Lab/CON Party.

It certainly is rich for Boris Idiot to complain about the irresponsibly high immigration levels and not just in respect of those points but also because he is on record as advocating illegal immigrants should be given yet another amnesty.

The most consistent trait in “Boris” is that, having no ideology or principle, he *always* takes the easiest option open to him. He is no leader, in any real sense. Weak. I diagnosed that in him long ago.

  9. Re South Africa. Another example of how you know who is always involved from every angle. Israel was still allied with, and sending weapons to them, whereas the ANC, which was dominated by Jews, was trying to bring the system down. I remember George Galloway bragged in an interview once, that when he’d visit SA in the 80s, every single ANC person he’d meet was Jewish. They’d put him up in fancy hotels, get him his Cuban cigars, and i’m guessing probably supplied him with female company as well.

Reminds me of a joke told to me by an old lady decades ago: there was a battle going on in the 19thC, and residents of the nearby city were watching from a hilltop. A “you-know-who” was jumping up and down shouting out “our side is winning!”, “we’re winning!” so someone asked him which side he meant. “The side that is winning, of course!”

      Many a true word?…
