Uneducated or semi-educated idiot-journalists, particularly the BBC’s John Humphrys, were a large part of the problem around basically anti-white, subversive msm reporting on Southern Africa in the 1970s and (when NWO/msm lies intensified) 1980s.

People in the UK were consistently given a false picture of Southern Africa, and Africa generally. The New World Order could not tolerate African states ruled by Europeans (now, we are told that white Northern Europeans should not rule even in Europe itself!).
Those African states had to be notionally “black-ruled”, though actually thereafter ruled by transnational money-power.
For example, I recall seeing in the 1980s a small paragraph on some inside page of the Daily Telegraph, about (if I recall aright) 80 Ugandan protestors being shut into a container truck by Ugandan police. They all died in the airless hot conditions. The same day, the newspapers in the UK all carried big stories about 2 black rioters or demonstrators shot by police in South Africa. The BBC and ITN did not even mention the poor old Ugandans. After all, they lived under “black African” rule (supposedly), not under awful white/European rule…
Hardly surprising that many of the less aware, more naive people in the UK were “anti-apartheid”. They had few sources of msm or other information, in a pre-Internet age, to challenge the msm lies and bias, and very very few of them had been to Southern Africa to see for themselves.
South Africa, whose white/European population has gone from a proportion of 20% of the whole to about 7% in the past 40 years, is sliding inexorably to the chaotic corruption, maladministration, and slaughter that characterize almost all black countries, now not under white/European rule.

Terrible, yes, but often such things are odd exceptions, or have but little longterm effect.
Denmark allowed the most ghastly porn (including child porn) to be sold freely in the 1970s, but after some years, the law was changed again. I do not know what long term damage was done. Perhaps less than we fear.
