Election 2024: a stray thought

So far, we have seen the not very exciting Reform UK get recent opinion poll ratings of between 9% and 15%. Not enough to get any seats if spread out evenly across the country.

However, reading the latest reaction to the absurd “National Service” idea floated by Sunak (you can read my own thoughts about that on the blog for yesterday and the previous day), it occurs to me that Reform UK might, just, do better than the polls suggest.

We have seen, in the past, people too ashamed or embarrassed to say to polling staff that they support the Conservative Party; maybe that is true here too, and that a proportion of the “Don’t Know” responders (recently often a plurality of those responding) are really secret Reform UK supporters, or secret nationalist or semi-nationalist supporters, or just secretly angry people.

That may be completely wrong, and we shall only know on 5 July 2024, but I could imagine quite a few people, either on the 4th or, before that, when filling out postal voting forms, thinking, “so **** it!” and voting Reform UK out of anger, frustration, or a wish to hurt the Conservative Party clowns, or the System in general.

Just a thought…

That 124,227 is only about 5%, not even, of the whole migrant influx over the past 7 years (at least 3 million). Then add the births to all migrants. Unsustainable, and in fact catastrophic to the future of this country.

What the misnamed “Conservatives” have apparently not quite understood is that most Reform UK voters are not voting Reform with the serious idea of winning many —or even any— seats in the Commons. They are voting Reform as a massive howl of protest (cf. the Brexit Referendum) and/or to give the Conservative Party an equally massive kicking.

Israel’s most important weapon is the pro-Israel Zionist “community” or web in many countries, particularly in the metaphorical West.

That Lazarus individual tweeted to another elderly Jew-Zionist woman several years ago that I (and someone else, of whom I had never even heard) should be given strychnine to drink. At the time, I could not be bothered to report it to the police, or even to Twitter, though “those” types mentioned themselves spend much of their time sneaking around and making malicious and contrived complaint to police and others.

There is a web of such “individuals” on Twitter/X, including most if not all of the accounts mentioned above, and mostly connected with the tiny but well-funded so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” or “CAA”, itself a cabal which constantly “complains”, often using outright lies (as exposed recently when its “CEO”, Gideon Falter, made demonstrably false claims about the Metropolitan Police); the “CAA” also tries to suborn police and Crown Prosecution Service personnel.

Even the Jewish/Zionist lobby has turned against the “CAA” liars recently.

I myself was expelled from Twitter/X in 2018 by reason of a concerted campaign by several of “those” mentioned, with others; I have no interest now in returning to Twitter/X.

Not very many people really want “Labour” to rule over them, but the first priority, which people really very much want, is to scrap this “Conservative” misgovernment, and stamp on its remains.

I see that Matt Goodwin’s view is not far from my own.

Poor little thing.

The only bright aspect to this horrible brutality is that millions of people are awakening, all over the world.

Let us hope that idiots in positions of power, whether in Poland, the Baltic states, or France, are listening.

Goodwin’s point is vitiated by his turning a blind eye to the Jew-Zionist influence permeating UK politics. My own attitude is closer to that of the cartoon below:

As a Northern European social-national thinker, I refuse to support either side in the Gaza/Israel/Palestine situation. It is more true to say that while I despise the Israeli side for its brutality and quasi-psychotic sadism yet, by the same token, I cannot support any form of violent Islamism, as such. I oppose the pervasive Jew-Zionist influence in UK politics and society, yet also oppose the migration-invasion of Britain, whether by Islamists, black hordes, or others.

I have, incidentally, not seen Goodwin say anything at all supportive of the suffering millions in Gaza, most of whom after all are women and children. Goodwin, like so many people seen frequently on UK mass media, is supportive, it seems, of Israel, or afraid to seem critical of it and/or Jew-Zionism and/or Zionists.

Israel-lobby msm talking head Iain Dale is standing as a candidate for the “Conservative” Party at GE 2024, but we do not yet know in which constituency. I am presuming one of the ~25 formerly safe or relatively safe ones still available.

Ah. Tunbridge Wells. The former MP, Greg Clark, was getting between 49% and 58% at several general elections, so Dale, unfortunately, looks like becoming an MP soon (I am presuming that he would only resign as a broadcaster if already as good as selected for the seat). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunbridge_Wells_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s.

  1. What an utterly CHILDISH tweet from the ever more pathetic, globalist, pro open borders, anti-British, essentially FAKE Conservative Party.

It is precisely because the Tory Party is run by globalist cretins that it is despised by normal, patriotic people and such voters are either going to abstain or vote for Reform UK.

If the Conservative Party were not filled by old pensioners with senile dementia who live in the 1950’s and before they might have worked-out by now that they should have changed the archaic and profoundly undemocratic electoral system from stand alone, ‘pure’ FPTP to a form of Proportional Representation/fair votes then vote splitting on the ‘Right’ of British politics wouldn’t be presenting such a problem to them. DUH!

The Tory Party is so damm well THICK it is a huge danger to itself let alone this country.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proportional_representation

    https://www.makevotesmatter.org.uk

Maggie Thatcher would have been unlikely to had a problem with vote splitting on ‘her side’ of British politics because when she was PM, the Conservative Party made a half-decent attempt to control immigration, stuck-up for the police, and was generally less PC ect.

The Conservative Party really needs to learn to not take conservatively-minded voters for granted in the misguided belief they ‘have nowhere else to go’. Abstention has ALWAYS been an option since voting in our rigged elections isn’t compulsory.

  2. Don’t vote fake Conservative, don’t vote for New Labour Mark 2 with added Zionist Israeli Likud Party.

Vote for Reform UK, Lib Dems, Workers’ Party, Greens, SNP, Plaid Cymru or vote for the ‘None of The Above/Sod The Lot’ party by abstaining from participating in YET ANOTHER rigged, undemocratic ‘election’ caused by using an electoral system decades out of date and wholly unfit for using in the 21st Century.

  3. It isn’t a well known fact but Britain doesn’t even have real general elections. Thanks to our massively out of date ‘pure’ FPTP electoral system we only get to have a vote in a single MP per seat constituency and our solitary vote ONLY MATTERS in that seat and determins its result ONLY.

The election is not therefore held on a truly NATIONAL basis for a supposedly NATIONAL, UK- wide parliament. Our so-called ‘general election’ is more akin to 650 by-elections being held on the same day.

  4. Looks like New Zealand has a pretty sensible Foreign Minister there in the shape of Winston Peters of NZ First.

Our cousins down in New Zealand are allowed to have a system of Proportional Representation/fair votes for their general elections which they have had since 1996 and contrary to the ridiculous scaremongering put about by the supporters of First Past The Post before the change NZ hasn’t fallen into the depths of the South Pacific ocean and become a failed state.

If an English-speaking country whose population is still comprised of quite a large number of people of British descent and which still has the British Monarch as its Head of State can make a success of changing from the archaic rubbish of stand alone, ‘pure’ First Past The Post and introducing Proportional Representation/fair votes then why can’t we?

  5. What an ugly old hag [REDACTED] is! Being a fanatical, pro Israel Zionist even if she was beautiful on the outside a profound ugliness not to say downright evil would be in her heart still.

How anyone of common humanity and common human decency can still support the Zionist entity now after what we have seen since October 7th 2023 beggars belief.

Israel should be peacefully dismantled as wished for by Rabbi Elhanan Beck of Stamford Hill’s Neturei Karta UK so that Jews, Palestinian Muslims and Christians can live together in harmony as they used to do before the domineering, expansionist and supremacist philosophy of Zionism created the state in 1948.

  6. Oh Vey! Twitter/X is full of “anti-semitic hate” tweets David Collier. In REALITY, it doesn’t. What it DOES HAVE is huge numbers of people from all around the world who are concerned about the behaviour of a rogue, continual international law defying, bandit STATE, its oppression of the Palestinian people and its Lobby groups in this country and others who support this oppression and misbehaviour.

In short, at long last, the planet is onto Zionists and their nefarious activities! Oh Vey!

  7. That childish Tory tweet above is factually incorrect anyway. The fake Conservatives will lose this election merely by a small number of their 2019 voters abstaining from voting for them. These voters don’t need to vote for Reform UK to make the Tories lose as they will be losing anyway. As long as the Tories lose 45 plus marginal seats by abstention they are OUT of office since they have no friends in the House of Commons. Even the DUP are wary of helping them after the mess and constitutional damage of the NI Protocol has still not been rectified properly.

  8. That ever so brief lightening strike looks frightening! I wonder what the real statistical risk/odds are of getting hit by a lightning strike in the UK? We tend to have less of them than countries like Mexico, the USA or US territories like Puerto Rico. I know that the risk of dying from being hit by a lightning strike is supposed to be about 10%.

“What are the odds of getting hit by lightning in the UK?
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents says 30 to 60 people get struck by lightning in Britain each year, which would place the odds to be less than one in a million. However, some experts suggest that it’s more likely than that, with the odds being more like one in 300,000.”

Long long ago, in 1978, at the age of 21/22, after I returned from an overseas stint, I would go running (out of habit) in my new British Reebok running shoes from Lilywhites; this happened near my parents’ then home over the top of Reigate Hill in Surrey. There were often (it seemed) thunderstorms above the nearby country (it is the highest area in England south of London) , and I sometimes mused on the question of how likely was it that I might be hit. In the end, I just left it to Fate.

      1. Your risk was probably higher than average then. Certain outdoor activities equate to a higher risk such as fishing in rivers such as some people do in parts of Scotland, playing golf, being near open expanses of water such as at the beach.

  9. Tunbridge Wells may fall if it is a really bad defeat and if the people there realise the Lib Dems have the best chance of defeating the Tories and don’t waste their votes on the Labour candidate. Tunbridge Wells was the only council area in Kent that voted Remain in that now infamous referendum back in 2016 hence the Liberal Democrats’ continuing strength there as in Chesham and Amersham which voted similarly in June 2016 and where they picked-up that by-election victory in 2021.

His record of standing in Tory inclined seats is not a good one in that he failed to defend the seat of North Norfolk which had been retained in 1997 by losing to the Liberal Democrats in 2001. They subsequently held the seat until 2015.

Wouldn’t it be quite something if Tunbridge Wells fell out of Tory hands at a general election? ‘Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells’ would take on a whole new meaning!

  10. Hello there! I have just watched a video where it has been demonstrated (quoting US sources) that the American so-called “High Mobility Artillery Rocket System” (what a stupid and pompous name!) a.k.a HIMARS, basically a modern version of the famous Russian WW2 rockets known as “Katiuschka”, are useless thanks to the Russian electronic defence devices who interfere with their guiding system (they call it “jamming”)

I have to say I am surprised by how ineffective many of these “high-tech” American weapons turned out to be. Obviously, it was a lot of hype (they call it “marketing”) LOL

Arms companies sell a dream (of efficient power) which often turns out to be a nightmare. In the 1980s, the British had a hand-held rocket system, the name of which escapes me, which was as good as useless. The American equivalent actually worked, though.

  11. Wellsaid, Sara Wagenecht of the BSW party in Germany. If you have Proportional Representation and thus a REAL democracy instead of Britain’s largely fake one with stand alone, ‘pure’ First Past The Post you can have all manner of political parties representing different viewpoints with a real chance of being elected and representing the true political diversity of opinion found in modern European countries. Along with her new leftist on economics and socially conservative BSW party, they have the national-conservative/nationalist Afd party and even a very small conservative-green party called the Ecological Democratic Party (ODP) differing markedly from the far larger Die Grune (The Greens) which, in common with our own Green Party and many others, is a ‘Watermelon’ party ie green on the outside and red on the inside.

  12. By the way, Sarah Wagenecht and her new party which was a split from the socialist Die Linke (The Left ) party was only created in January this year. It is already on about 7% in the national opinion polls and if this level of popularity is maintained or increases it will get enough votes to pass the 5% threshold needed for a party to enter the German parliament the Bundestag. Contrast that with the situation here with the archaic fraud of ‘pure’ FPTP where UKIP got 4,000,000 votes and 12% of the national vote and got ONE MP in 2015.

British ‘Democracy’! You are having a laugh! As that disgracefully disproportionate election result showed it doesnt really exist.
