Former economic adviser to Israel’s chief of staff, Ram Aminah, said: “Israeli society does not understand the extent of Hezbollah’s power” because it has a large stockpile of missiles, he added. Hezbollah is considered one of the five superpowers along with the United States, China, Russia and Germany.

Interesting and unexpected. All the same, Hezbollah is not part of the nuclear club: no Trident, no French force de frappe

When they are given power…

He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword” [Matthew 26:52]

Wonder what that idiot-tweeter will say when real social-nationalism arrives…

Incidentally, that Britain Elects poll result, if it is right, would mean a House of Commons with 469 Labour MPs (overall majority 288), 75 LibDems, 56 Con MPs, 15 SNP, 9 Reform UK, 3 Green (etc). https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html.

My view is that it would be better to raise the threshold to at least the Β£20,000 level, but increase the tax burden of VAT (overall). True, that would hit poorer people disproportionately, but at the same time would put the choice into their hands, in fact into the hands of all consumers. Basic purchases, such as food, or basic foodstuffs, could be charged out at a lower rate or rates, or zero-rated.

Government needs tax monies in order to fund the functions of government.

Another stunning opinion poll, if accurate.

That poll, by my use of Electoral Calculus, would result in a House of Commons with 454 Labour MPs (overall majority 258), 74 LibDems, 46 Cons, 34 Reform UK, 15 SNP, 4 Green (etc).

That People Polling opinion poll comes very close to my own (I hope, educated) guess about what might be the result of tomorrow’s General Election. Labour as “elected” (by default) dictatorship, LibDems the official but completely toothless Opposition (again only by default), and Reform UK in a good position to capitalize on what will soon be Labour’s total let-down as a government. Oh, and the SNP put back in its box, probably permanently.

As for the Conservative Party, if not totally wiped out on the day, mortally wounded.

I also tend to agree, as I have been blogging recently. “Shy Reform UK voters”, unwilling to share their tendency with pollsters, may add up to something significant, if they vote at all.

That means a House of Commons with 472 Labour MPs (overall majority 294), LibDems 69, Cons 63, SNP 15, Reform 6, Greens 3 (etc).

Once again, LibDems as official Opposition. About half the polls are predicting that the LibDems will get more MPs than the Cons. I imagine that large donors to the Conservative Party will close their pocketbooks soon. A party not in government and not even the main opposition party has little influence.

1700 hrs now. 17 hours before the polls open for real.

This is Frank and he has had a coffee stand at the top of the steps at Bethnal Green tube for as long as I can remember.

When the new restaurant/coffee shop next door opened along with another high street outlet opening across the street, Frank suddenly found that his license from the council had been revoked and he was chucked off his stand. I believe it was to make way for these new shops to take his regular custom. They didn’t need him in the way of gaining maximum profit… so Frank was gone.

Well the locals were having none of it and a petition started demanding his return. How dare they do this to him. How dare these people smash his business and leave him with nothing.

After a lot of pressure the council backed down and Frank had his licence and pitch returned to him but sadly by that time Frank had sold his equipment to feed his family and try to survive. So the good people of Bethnal Green started crowdfunding and here’s the result… Frank back in business on his old pitch with brand new equipment and even a little hut now to shelter him from the rain… Brilliant!!

He is truly the happiest man in East London and it’s wonderful to see. It really does show that if we all stick together, stand up to them and just say no… the little guy can win. If you’re in Bethnal Green come and have a coffee with this lovely man.

A nice story, and an illustration on a small scale of what society could be.

Not an area I know (have been there a couple of times, 30-40 years ago), but if I am ever there, admittedly highly unlikely, I’ll take that coffee.

A man has been convicted of strangling his wife while her online boyfriend was on a video link, and throwing her body hidden in a suitcase into a tributary of the River Thames.

Aminan Rahman, 46, was found guilty by a jury at the Old Bailey of murdering Suma Begum, 24, in a flat in east London on the night of 29 April last year.

The killing was witnessed by Begum’s two children, aged four months and two years, and her online boyfriend via a video call from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was living.

  1. God, some people in this country are so deluded and detached from reality. The fact is this country is virtually bankrupt as we have no real industrial base so we produce very little to export and therefore have a worrying balance of payments deficit which, increasingly, we are unable to finance and this is acting as a drag on sustainable, longterm economic growth.

How does that idiot probable Labour voter who is scared of an actually quite mildly conservative party polling 17% expect this getting poorer with every decade that passes due to those facts above country to have completely open borders and also finance decent public services as well?

As Hitler noted of Weimar Republic voters, many of them, “they want not only their daily bread but also their daily illusion.”

There are literally millions in the UK who sincerely believe that we can take in a million mostly useless and (at best) parasitic immigrants or, more accurately, migrant-invaders, yet not only maintain but improve society (housing, roads, rail, education, NHS services, social welfare services etc)! For those people, 2+2=5 (if they “believe”…).

As for “highly skilled” immigrants, a tiny proportion. Tiny. The relative few that are useful, are almost all medics. People say “oh, good”, but then forget that *their* offspring often are totally useless. Look at that useless Nigerian parasite Femi Oluwole, aka “Femi Sorry”; his parents are both NHS consultants, but he himself will never be anything except a pointless and useless anti-Brit loudmouth. Multiply him by a few million…

  2. 56% of people still intending to vote Tory or Labour! Frankly disappointing but if it does happen at least the useless duopoly parties will have, for the first time ever, a combined vote share of less than 60% so some slight progress.

The lowest they have come before was in 2010 when, I think, they polled about 63% between them.

56 Traitor Tory MPs is far too many.

Come on, British patriots! Vote against the Traitor Tory Party!

You have just over 24 hours to wipe out the Traitor Tory Party once and for all, and create an opening on the political right for a true patriotic party to emerge and grow!

Make tomorrow a historic day in British history!

Do your patriotic duty tomorrow and vote AGAINST the Traitor Tory Party!

    1. They are very unlikely to be wiped-out completely. Their top 50 or so seats are very safe eg my own constituency of Brentwood and Ongar, Essex, (the TENTH safest) with its Tory numerical majority of 29,145, vote share of 68%, PERCENTAGE MAJORITY (the really important figure since seats don’t have exactly the same number of voters in them) over Labour of 54.9% (with the Liberal Democrats being a mere 0.1% further behind).

The Tory vote across the country is at an unprecedented low but it will still tend to be concentrated in the safest seats hence they are unlikely to fall. Tactical voting wouldn’t work in this seat since the Conservative Party’s vote would first have to fall by at least 19% for it to get under 50% where tactical voting can come into play and even then there would be a dispute as to who is in second place. Would it be Labour, the Lib Dems who have far more councillors here than Labour does or would it be Reform UK who may do quite well in this sort of seat?

Yes, there are some constituencies where the Cons are dug in so deep nothing short of a bunkerbuster would remove them. My own area for one. Whatever the dissatisfaction felt with the Government, or the local MP, who is a lazy useless fellow, few here will vote Labour (usually 3rd-placed, once or twice 4th), while the LibDems can rarely get even a quarter of the vote. Reform UK is an unknown quantity, but the majority of people here are not seriously struggling, so political anger is low, I think.

The question is whether there are many such “deep blue” seats.

      2. The last bad defeat for the Conservative Party was in 1997. Then, our Tory MP, Eric Pickles, had his vote share decline from 57% in 1992 to 45% in 1997 with a Referendum Party candidate standing who took 5% of the vote. He still won with a numerical majority of over 9,000 votes and a percentage majority of 19%.

The Tory MP here now will have his majority more severely cut as the Conservative Party vote share across the country is lower than it was then but he will still probably win by about 10% plus.

      3. Yes, Desmond Swayne will be returned as the Tory MP for New Forest West unless something truly extraordinary happens tomorrow. The political equivalent of your seat or mine not having a Conservative Party representative is akin to somewhere like Montana, Utah, Alabama, Wyoming not voting for Trump in November.

      4. I would say there are at least 30 seats that are so safe they are effectively bombproof one of which is mine as we were the tenth safest last time and then another twenty or so that might at a pinch go down by majorities of less than 100 votes if every other factor comes right ie an even lower national Tory vote share or one spread more evenly across the country and if there was to be mass tactical voting in them on a previously unheard of scale.

Your seat of New Forest West is the 22nd safest. On paper, it is less safe than mine but I think it has an older electorate than my seat has so, in theory, could be safer now because it is the very elderly and ultra-wealthy that are propping-up the Conservative Party’s vote share and keeping it from going down completely.

    2. 56 MPs would be, by far, the lowest number of MPs the Conservative Party has ever had. The lowest so far, if I recall correctly, was 155 elected in 1906 in a Liberal Party landslide.

The Tories have been down to just over 100 (something like 106) but that was in the mid-1700s, when the Tories were more like a loose faction than an organized political party.

You are correct that 1906 is the record lowest number of Tory MPs since the party has existed in the modern sense.

Yes, I guess the political dinosaur from Yorkshire, Paul Stringer, who thinks class warfare and the division between ‘Left’ and ‘Right’ on economics is the real dividing point in politics in Europe/America in 2024 rather than what it actually is ie a division of opinion between rootless cosmopolitans/globalists and nationalist anti-globalists will not be taking a holiday in Germany with the rise of their national-conservative/nationalist Alternative For Germany (Afd) party or will he be following in the footsteps of the characters in that book entitled ‘A Year In Provence’ especially as that part of France is a stronghold for Marine Le Pen’s Rassemblement National (National Rally) party.

Germany still has a strong, export-led, economy (shock horror, Proportional Representation/fair votes always leads to crap, useless, inherently unstable, coalition governments that don’t get anything done or so the anti PR propaganda line here goes and yes I AM being sarcastic!) so they could be described as an ‘superpower’ in an economic sense but not in the way in which the word superpower is normally used in that Germany doesn’t have a particularly strong military and it doesn’t possess nuclear weapons.

I am very glad that they did not retain them!

In any case, the weapons (missiles) may have been located in Ukraine, but the control came from elsewhere, centred on Moscow. Also, at that time, Soviet nuclear missiles could not be launched without the launch codes, kept *separately* by the KGB. In other words, a Kiev government, as today, could never have used those missiles.

  12. How many extra police officers do Reform UK want to recruit? With the abysmal state of law and order under the so-called ‘party of law and order’ (it was under Maggie Thatcher but not now) there needs to be at least another 10,000 recruited if not more like another 40,000-50,000. The ratio of police officers per 100,000 people is too low and should be around Germany’s level if not that of Spain or Portugal. We also need to build more police stations.

I see that Reform UK do have some good ideas to start to reduce the loony PC mania levels the police have been made to operate under under the fake Conservatives. It is a shame they don’t go further but it is a start to having normal, non-PC, effective police forces once again as this country so desperately needs.

Let us not waste taxpayers’ money in painting police vehicles with rainbows. Even many LGBTQAI people find it embarrassing and a waste of money.
