Such terror attacks on Russian civilians are rarely reported in our “free press” and “free mass media”…
I sense that the Russian side is tiring of fighting the war as it has been fought, and of the constant escalation from the Kiev-regime forces, and may turn to far more destructive attacks on Kiev itself.
I wonder how many wars and lesser crises “they” have caused, historically?

How ironic. The Russians, historically famous for their brutality in political and military affairs, are now proving to be wimps treading on eggshells. Three and a half years, and nothing has been achieved.
Putin keeps “warning” the West that his patience is wearing thin, but does nothing. Kiev should have been razed to the ground, or nuclear tactical devices used against the Ukrainian troops to break the stalemate. He has lost all credibility.

I think it is mainly a matter of the historical and ethnic closeness of Russians and Ukrainians. As we have discussed previously, Russians do not think of Ukraine as foreign, exactly, but as being part of the “near-abroad”, like the Baltic states, Belorussia (Belarus) etc. To raze Kiev to the ground would therefore be almost like razing a Russian city to the ground, though the central part of Kiev was all but flattened during the Second World War, and mostly by Russian forces.
Of course, to destroy a city such as Kiev would be a massive crime in humanitarian terms.
I think that Kiev is in peril of massive destruction, but that would be a last-resort option for Putin. Putin still has about 2.5 years before Trump is replaced by a more hostile President.
As you say though, there has to be a breakthrough, a gamechanger. The Kiev regime is running out of cannon-fodder but is plugging its defensive gaps in most sectors of the overall front; hence the slow advance of Russian forces. The defensive lines have been built up over 4+ years now.
