Peter Hitchens has plenty to say; some of it is quite correct. I should prefer him to use his prominence and platform for the more serious issues (such as Russia/Ukraine) and less often for smaller issues such as marijuana misuse, postage stamp design, electric bicycles etc.

Unfunny comedy (again)
Saw 2-3 minutes of a live TV show called Live at the Apollo. Pushed the wrong button; wanted the TV news.
Some completely unfunny bearded comedian (supposedly). A monologue about how he supports “trans” “rights” (applauded by the audience), then a completely unfunny punchline (supposedly the punchline). Do those idiots pay £50 or £100 to see and hear that? God knows.
A few minutes was more than enough. Switch off.

I am no businessman (far from it) and Elon Musk is (as his net worth —grown from a modest start— proves), yet I cannot believe that to spend USD $44 billion on something like Twitter is money well spent, from any point of view. Still, there it is.

I am thinking of writing to the German Ambassador to the United Kingdom politely requesting Germany invades the UK and impose a GENUINE representative democracy upon us as we did to them after the war using their excellent system of Proportional Representation so we have free AND FAIR elections NOT RIGGED ones and then we may get a wide choice of alternative parties to vote for as in Deutschland:

Immigration only works when very strict limitations are put upon the numbers and careful selection is made of the type of immigrants to determine if they can successfully assimilate into the existing society. If they not entire societies become swamped and effectively overturned.

Yes, aren’t those self-service checkouts in shops like Sainsbury’s (who seem to have an obsession with them) and Boots bloody annoying!
I try and avoid using them if I can and only do so when I don’t have the time to use manned checkouts. I find they have the annoying tendency to create problems paying via them just when you don’t need that ie when you are in a hurry to get out of the shop.

How ironic is to hear the imbeciles from GB NEWS and other news outlets referring to the President of the USA as “the leader of the free world”. (LOL) What a ridiculous and outdated expression; perhaps it made sense during the Cold War (1950-1990) but definitely not now.
BTW, to call the ultra-corrupt and degenerate Western world a “free world” is a very bad joke. Over the last 10 years, the repression has increased enormously, particularly over the last 5 years. We are living in a Soviet-style regime without its open brutality and gulags but “Big Brother” is very real and watching us 24/7.

Back in the 1970s, there were “female impersonators” and “drag queens” etc, but there was no movement almost *demanding* that they be seriously called “women”, and “she/her” etc in real life, or that they be allowed to use women-only spaces. As for such a person becoming a Labour MP— forget it.
It’s as if there is a demand to accept the fake as the real. Men claiming to be “women” on demand or, to take another case, “poverty campaigners” claiming to be themselves financially struggling, and who make a good living from virtue-signallers and/or mugs, some of whom are in poorer circumstances than her (or should one say “them”?)…
