I have blogged previously about how, to my mind, Farage’s close protection squad seems not very effective. So far, it has been milkshakes and the like, but that may escalate to serious weapons such as knives. He needs to revamp his security to prevent that. The way the UK is going, nothing can be ruled out.
That Reform UK candidate was right in his original comments. Britain should never have declared war on the German Reich, and was not under attack at the time. In 1940, Germany made a number of peace proposals, both before and after Dunkirk, all of which were ignored. Hitler even ordered a halt to the German infantry and armour advance on Dunkirk, which allowed that very large large evacuation to occur.
Hitler wanted peace and, if possible, collaboration, with the British Empire. He wanted the two empires to rule most of the world together, or in parallel, opposing both Sovietism and Americanism.
Had peace or at least armistice been declared in 1940 or at the time of the flight of Rudolf Hess in 1941, most of the devastation of Western and Central Europe, including in the UK and Germany, would never have happened.
That peace would also have meant no Cold War, no Korean War, probably no Vietnam War (etc), no “Israel” and therefore no Middle East wars (because the Middle East would have been mainly under British and French control). It would have meant far less environmental degradation in Africa and Asia, and far less civil conflict on those continents.
Had such peace “broken out”, Sovietism would not have encroached upon Eastern and Central Europe, as it did after 1945. The whole of Europe and the world would have been in a better place.

Were the LibDem-intending voters to vote for Labour, Esther McVey would be turfed out; but will enough of them be sufficiently motivated to do that? Open question.

I would like to know the real truth about Rudolf Hess’s flight to Scotland in May 1941. Some people allege that in 1987 the Soviets agreed at long last to allow his release from a life sentence in Spandau prison and that MI6 had him murdered so that he wouldn’t talk about his supposed peace mission. Even though he was a very elderly man by that point in time his mental faculties were said to be good.
The last files held by the British government on this enduring mystery of WW2 were supposed to have been released in 2017. Is the British government waiting until ALL WW2 veterans are no longer with us to reveal the truth? How convenient!

For me, though, the main interest of that book lay in the existence of a widespread and influential “peace party” in the UK, rather than whether the real Hess was tried, imprisoned etc.

There are rumors that Churchill lied to the Germans and pretended that if Germany invaded the USSR, Britain would stop fighting Germany and instead make an alliance with Germany to defeat Stalin.
According to these rumors, Hess was sent to England to negotiate and formalize the alliance that Hitler planned to have with Britain.
But after Germany irrevocably committed and invaded the USSR, Churchill betrayed the Germans and stabbed Germany in the back, forming an alliance with Stalin instead of with Germany.
So the rumors say.
It makes sense that if the rumors are true, neither Britain nor Germany would have publicized it, because Churchill wouldn’t want his own despicable treachery to be exposed, and Hitler wouldn’t want to look like a dupe who had been tricked by Churchill.
Hess of course knew the truth, which is why the Allies (more like All Lies) kept him locked up for decades after WW2.
Whether the above rumor is true or not, is difficult to say. But it’s plausible.

1941 was a high-stakes poker game, as you imply. The exact details of the plots and secret negotiations will probably never be known to the public.
Churchill wanted Germany to be committed (either in attack or defence) on the Eastern Front. Stalin wanted as many German forces as possible to be in the West.
Hess flew to Scotland in May 1941, about a month before Barbarossa.
One factor not often explored, though, was that Germany had never realistically intended to invade the UK, though meticulous contingency planning was in place. For one thing, Hitler wanted alliance with the British Empire on the strategic level. On the less elevated level, Germany had no sufficient naval or other shipping capacity to transport a large force across the Channel in 1940 or 1941, even in such numbers as to form a spearhead. That must be why paratroop forces played an important part in the said contingency plan, “Sealion”.
The theory you mention is not implausible, as you say.

Esther McVey is an awful MP and not exactly the sharpest pencil in the box. However, why should any self-respecting Lib Dem voter or a Green Party voter for that matter vote tactically for Labour in that seat or anywhere else?
The Lib Dems and Greens support Proportional Representation/fair votes. Even in the 24th year of the 21st Century the Labour Party can’t bring itself to support REAL democracy in this country and democracy is supposed to be a very important value of the Left but Labour DON’T support it.
If the Labour Party had its way both Liberal Democrat and Green Party supporters would forevermore have to vote tactically instead of this country having a genuine, modern, real democracy with Proportional Representation/fair votes where they could vote with their hearts and not be afraid of ‘letting the other side in’.
This issue of Proportional Representation/fair votes is a MAJOR dividing line between democratic parties such as the Greens and Lib Dems on one side and UNDEMOCRATIC ones like Labour on the other side.

Labour is an incredibly self-centered, supremely arrogant, selfish, and profoundly undemocratic party. Their leadership truly believes that if someone is not a dyed-in-the-wool Tory then that voter MUST automatically be a Labour person.
Of course this is not true today and even in the now quite distant past ie the 1970’s and before it wasn’t either. Before the more recent rise of the Greens, the Liberal Party existed and never quite died out.
Michael Foot after Labour’s disaster in 1983 even had the sheer gall and cheek to accuse the then Liberal/SDP Alliance of splitting the vote against Mrs Thatcher. It never occurred to him that exactly the same charge could have been made against his Labour Party.

I agree that tactical voting will be widespread at yet another inherently rigged ‘election’. It shouldn’t be. People should feel that they can vote with their hearts and for what they truly believe in and not risk doing so at the cost of ‘letting the other side in’.
In modern, genuine democracies with Proportional Representation/fair votes people are not worried about voting with their hearts. PR voting systems do not positively encourage people to vote tactically like our severely out of date, unfit for purpose, wildly unrepresentative, ‘pure’ First Past The Post electoral system undoubtedly does and which is one of its many severe flaws.
Perhaps, we should write letters to the German Ambassador to Britain kindly requesting the German state to use its armed forces to invade the United Kingdom so that they can impose their pretty good Mixed-Member Proportional Representation voting system upon Britain so that we can have a modern, genuine democracy at long last?
I believe I am correct in stating Germany’s system of PR which was once a unique system was designed by us and imposed by us on them.

Halving migration is akin to putting a sticking plaster on someone who has a big cut spurting blood near an artery. Simply put, it is nowhere near good enough. A 95% plus cut in legal migration is needed plus a permanent end to the asylum scam/backdoor route to immigration and a real effort to deport the estimated one million backlog of illegal immigrants.
Why not add a new, fair, Proportional Representation voting system on top of that and the return of the death penalty?
I think most people are now rather tired of Tory promises to control immigration which have a habit of not becoming reality.

Actually, I do not like Churchill *or* Gandhi, the latter being the kind of secular “saint” who, while being “saintly”, manages to kill off (albeit indirectly) millions of people (in Gandhi’s case, in 1947-1948, mainly). I dislike virtually all Indians. If you go on Youtube they accuse we British of all manner of ghastly atrocities in India during the Raj even though there were relatively few such incidents and certainly they were never on the scale of what Belgium did in the Congo, France in Algeria, or Germany’s not well known first genocide in what is now Namibia or then German South West Africa in 1904-1905.
They rarely, if ever, acknowledge the good we done in India such as building their railways, stamping down very hard on the Thugee cult which saved many Indian lives from those very violent criminals ect.
Virtually everything wrong in India today is our fault. They are a perpetually whinging and ungrateful lot towards us.
As for Churchill, I don’t think we should have had that crossing the floor of the House of Commons too often former Liberal Party man as PM. A better choice would have been the continuance of Neville Chamberlain, Lord Halifax or Rab Butler.

Esther McVey’s seat is quite high brow and contains Cheshire’s ‘Platinum Triangle’ villages such as Alderley Edge where a lot of Manchester United FC footballers live and where an Aston Martin dealership is said to be the highest selling one in the country.
The Lib Dem voters there may be more inclined to give Esther McVey their votes if they turn away from the Lib Dems rather than the Labour candidate. My seat of Brentwood and Ongar only really sees switching between Lib Dems and Tories.

Martin Bell stood in my seat four years later in 2001 after a split in the local Conservative Party caused by a religious sect in the town. He managed to reduce the Tory majority of our then MP, Eric Pickles, from 9,000 odd in 1997 to the smallest majority for them up to that point of just 2,800 odd votes.

The most important thing in the upcoming election is that the fake-conservative, traitorous, wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing Tory party must be utterly destroyed.
Even if the Tories win 10 seats in parliament, that will be 10 too many.
The Tories must be completely destroyed as a political force, in order to create an opening for a truly British nationalist political party to emerge.
As long as the Tories are viewed by the public as the main rightwing party, there will never be an opening for a true patriotic party to break into the political mainstream.
If the Tories are annihilated in the upcoming election, that will hopefully create a vacuum on the right, where a truly ethno-nationalist political party can attract former Tory voters.
Farage’s controlled-opposition grifting “Reform Party” is also an obstacle to the success of a true nationalist part.
But in the upcoming election, I hope that lots of Tories will vote for Reform, so that the Tory Party will be destroyed.
Once the Tories are destroyed, the Reform Party will be much easier for a nationalist party to overtake, because the Reform Party is basically a one-man show, which lacks the institutional strength of the Tories.
With the Tories destroyed, it will be much easier for an ethno-nationalist party to become the major force on the right, because the Reform Party isn’t nearly as strong as the Tories are.

As we live in the XXI century where most people are morons who believe what the MSM tells them, the chances of a rapid electoral victory by a nationalist party are very remote. Things will have to get far worse for the herd to change its habits and vote for someone else.
Lenin was right when he said that in 1917 “The Russian soldiers voted with their feet” in reference to the awful conditions in which the soldiers of the Tsarist army lived. The same will happen in the UK, the average Briton will only start acting politically when he cannot afford cable TV or buy beer and pizzas. Most people do not act moved by generous, noble ideas, but by selfishness.
