Most voters, most TV talking heads and newspaper scribblers etc have not yet caught up with me and a few of the more perceptive msm commentators (such as Tim Stanley) in understanding that, in Stanley’s words, “the [Conservative Party] brand is…just gone“, and that means that only a few habit-voters, mostly the very elderly, will be voting Con at GE 2024 or thereafter.
I notice that, in latest polling, the Conservative Party is down to 18% with one pollster.
That has happened before to the Cons, in 2019, and in relation to the brief rise and fall of Brexit Party, but not 3 weeks before a general election. In that year, I think that the Cons were down to 19% at one point.
On a secondary point, who could have imagined, in the 1980s, that Russian roads, in the provinces at that, would be better in 2024 than any roads in the UK? Shameful.
The people still voting en masse for the Conservative Party will be, as previously noted, lifelong Con habit-voters now aged 75+, who are concentrated mainly in the safest seats of southern England. In those constituencies, the not-poor and the elderly are the majority.
Having said that, my prediction, right or wrong, remains closer to 50 than 100 Con seats after 4 July 2024.

Steve Moore, very few people do intend to vote for the globalist, open borders supporting, anti-British, poor people hating, profoundly undemocratic, environmental wrecking, war mongering for NO essential British national interests Tory scumbags.
If they somehow manage to get 100 seats or more it will be mainly due to there being insufficient anti-Tory tactical voting and/or the Tory vote having too far to fall in their safest seats. In my ultra-safe Tory seat of Brentwood and Ongar in Essex they had a vote share of 68% last time so their vote would have to fall 19% just to get it below 50% where tactical voting can come into play.

The last remotely decent Tory PM was Margaret Thatcher who at least made a half-reasonable stab at controlling immigration and didn’t impose ridiculous levels of PC insanity on the police though I do have to say the problem of PC did start on her patch with the passing of the Public Order Act 1986 with its chilling effect upon free speech. Before her, you have to go back to Neville Chamberlain and Stanley Baldwin.

Steve Moore, the Electoral Calculus site is predicting 76 seats for the fake Conservatives. That seems about right to me. They are unlikely to go down to less than 50 constituencies unless their national vote falls still further so that their share in their safest seats goes down more seriously. An improvement in the Lib Dem national vote share concentrated in these seats which often have a fairly good Lib Dem vote might cause some of them to fall.
These are the very safest Tory seats so even with a low national vote share their vote will tend to be concentrated in them helping the party to hold them.
But then when you are, in some polls, on just 18% of the national vote, that means 82% are not voting for you and if that vote is efficiently spread then a near total wipe out is possible as the Canadian Progressive Conservatives found out to their cost in 1993.

I say don’t vote for the fake Conservatives or for totally uninspiring fake Labour. Vote Reform UK, another small ‘Right-wing’ party like the British Democrats/English Democrats, a decent independent, Liberal Democrats or, if you are more of a lefty, the Greens.
