Talking point

I see that the Jewish lobby is loudly whining and wailing today about the Jews killed on this day 3 years ago in Gaza.

Well, I concede that the incursion into “Israel” from Gaza should not have happened in quite the manner it did, and that some of the acts done by HAMAS were incorrect and insupportable, but the response of the Israeli Jewish state has been brutal, inhumane (indeed, inhuman), and as close to genocide as makes no real difference.

Almost complete devastation of Gaza, most homes destroyed, hundreds of thousands killed or injured, many injured very badly (loss of limbs etc), and most of those killed or injured women and children.

It seems that many of the Jews killed three years ago were killed (via free-fire protocols) by the Israeli forces themselves. The total Jewish death toll was somewhere around 1,000, a tiny fraction of the number of Gazans killed and wounded in vindictive retaliation by the (Israeli) Jews (egged on by many Jews living overseas, including in the UK).

One has to ask, when on Earth will the Jews (of Israel, and those supporting the slaughter and cruelty from overseas) have had enough blood (in Gaza)?

I find it curious that the Russian missile and drone strikes take place mainly after dark. I should have thought that during the day would be better tactics, in order to cause far more chaos and disruption to transport and to economic life etc. It may be that countermeasures are more effective during daylight hours; I do not know.

[“Royal Mail has announced plans to cut up to 2,500 jobs by the end of 2027.

When billionaire Daniel Křetínský’s takeover was approved in December 2024, the government presented the deal as one that would help “secure jobs”, while Jonathan Reynolds said: “We have negotiated something that secures the long-term future of Royal Mail.”

Less than two years later, thousands of jobs are set to disappear.

Britain has spent decades selling off essential national infrastructure on the promise that private ownership would make it leaner, cheaper and better. Too often the result has been the opposite: jobs cut, services hollowed out, prices pushed up and private owners protected, while the public is left carrying the risk when the model fails. Royal Mail is starting to look like another example of the same failed experiment.“]

The present Labour government is very little different from the Con Party governments of 2010-2024, or from the Blair/Brown “New Labour” ones. System…

Late tweets

They really are a disgusting tribe.

As far as I am concerned, there is no decent party or, as far as I know, candidate, standing.

The Greens are up against it, now that Galloway is standing. Splits the avowedly anti-Zionist vote.

Last poll I saw had the Cons on 17% nationwide. Would mean they might get as few as 50 MPs, less than half even compared to their present depleted complement.

  1. How ironic of Matt Goodwin to say “Never trust the Tories” when his pathetic, pseudo-nationalist party has welcomed dozens of them with open arms, after accepting their “apologies” and sudden “conversion” to the cause of patriotism. No wonder many English nationalists refer to REFORM as Tories 2.0!

That, together with pro-finance-capitalist policies and the pro-Israel, pro-Jewish lobby policies, is what has weakened Reform. At one time, only a year or so ago, Reform was polling as high as 35%; now 25% at best. Had Reform gone more social-national, even if in a fake sort of way, Farage might now be looking at 40% polling, but there it is. I did warn on the blog about it, but what can one do, on a modest blog, other than warn? The British monarch is entitled, under our “unwritten” (uncodified) Constitution, to “advise, be consulted, and to warn” [Bagehot] (sometimes or originally, “to advise, encourage, and to warn“), but I, a mere citizen, can only do the first and last of those (in that first formulation, and assuming in hope that anyone is listening…).

Incidentally, I now see from Wikipedia that:
“Bagehot also wrote Physics and Politics (1872),[10] in which he examines how civilisations sustain themselves, arguing that, in their earliest phase, civilisations are very much in opposition to the values of modern liberalism, insofar as they are sustained by conformism and military success but, once they are secured, it is possible for them to mature into systems which allow for greater diversity and freedom.

His viewpoint was based on his distinction between the qualities of an “accomplished man” and those of a “rude man”, which he considered to be the result of iterative inheritances by which the “nervous organisation” of the individual became increasingly refined down through the generations.[11] He regarded that distinction as a moral achievement whereby, through the actions of the will, the “accomplished” elite was able to morally differentiate themselves from “rude men” by a “hereditary drill”. He equally applied such reasoning to develop a form of pseudoscientific racism, whereby those of mixed race lacked any “inherited creed” or “fixed traditional sentiments” upon which, he considered, human nature depended.”
