Cosmetic. In reality, such exams are far easier than they were in the 1980s, let alone 1970s and 1960s, facts which can easily be verified by looking at exam papers from different decades.
The System actually wants to keep the ridiculous grade inflation, because it creates meaningless public happiness: the pupils or students are happy because they can tell themselves that they got “A” grades, the teachers and schools can pretend that they are doing a good job (rather than the pitiful job most of them do most of the time), the parents —particularly the sharp-elbowed middle classes— are happy that their offspring are on track to go to this or that university or college and so populate the usual professions, and the Government can claim to be reforming the exam award system when it is doing no such thing.
Meanwhile, real standards, in the real world, in official and business administration, the professions, political life, fall like a stone. Look at the standard of MPs now! All the System parties. Jess Phillips is merely one of hundreds of deadhead examples.

At root, you are correct, but for that particular work on University Challenge I much prefer Paxman or (better) Bamber Gascoigne. Of course, and apart from the racial/national aspect, the *cultural* level of the two English presenters was far higher than will now be the case. “Mastermind” has been dumbed-down and ruined; I expect University Challenge to go the same way.
As you note, however, the System is now directly discriminating in favour of non-whites wherever it sees a chance.

Perhaps the most notorious and ridiculous example I can think of readily is horseracing where they had or possibly still do an ethnic Indian presenting it.

During the Olympics last year in Tokyo, a non white suddenly popped-up presenting the swimming! At first, I thought this is too much of a ridiculous example of blatant ethnic placement even by the usual BBC standards but then its purpose became clear: one of our swimmers, Adam Peaty, has an ethnic girlfriend and child so we were treated to a little PC film about ‘racism’.🙄🙄🙄
Of course, those with brains and basic ethnic awareness know that different sports are competed at by different races in higher or lower proportions and that different races are best or good at some sports but only average or worse at others.
Swimming is, in general, a white male’s and white female’s sport with the only exceptions being that Chinese and some Japs are quite good at it as well but not as good as whites.
There is a good biological reason as to why we whites excel at swimming but we are not as good at the 100metres in athletics and that is because the muscle fibres of whites and blacks differ quite a bit.

I am told that the basic underlying reason why blacks are no good at swimming is because their bones are more dense; heavier. I cannot cite statistics for that (and am not much interested) but I have noticed when living in places where blacks are brought up by the sea (eg in the Caribbean) that few like to swim at all, and that even fewer swim well.

Considering how eager the BBC so obviously is at replacing Britons even in the most absurd of situations perhaps they may like to bring back Crimewatch?
After all, it did feature lots of blacks, Asians, Albanians etc but no doubt that is the kind of ‘diversity’ the BBC aren’t too keen on. They didn’t like that diversity because these examples of ‘enrichment’ were sought by the police and the aim was to send them to prison! So Crimewatch was taken off air!🙄🙄🙄🙄

I support the ethos and idea of public service broadcasting but with our example of the BBC that is impossible to do. Japan’s NHK wouldn’t undermine the national morale and self-confidence of the Japanese nation and the BBC shouldn’t be allowed to do it with our nation either.
Frankly, what is the BBC for nowdays? If it were shut down would we miss it? It is rare to see a high quality programme on it now.

I am not inclined normally to support the use of criminal damage but I would not be sad to see that happen to that monstrous Holocaust memorial.
What an ugly monstrosity it is and deliberately designed to utterly ruin the setting of a Grade One listed building of the Houses of Parliament which is surely one of the world”s best looking parliaments and to effectively remove one of the most pleasant small public parks and open spaces in central London.
If only our Christian God struck it with a lightening bolt to destroy it.

The people who live in those very expensive properties near to the Houses of Parliament enjoy using that park. I’ve been to it myself and it is a very pleasant place and one of the few open green spaces in the area.
The local Tory council of Westminster (now Labour controlled) quite rightfully turned the application to build it down but this decision has been disgracefully overturned.

Well, that fear of what is called ‘anti-Semitism’ could prove to be justified. Our nation never persecuted Jews in the 1930’s or 1940’s and was not involved in that aspect of European history in anyway so what exactly is the underlying purpose of this memorial and why is it going to be placed specifically right in the heart of what used to be our national capital city and next to Parliament?

Yes, his decision was a disgrace and would still have been if the local council had been controlled by Labour or the Liberal Democrats but Westminster was then in Tory control which makes it worse. His own party’s very wealthy voters in the area who made perfectly valid and reasonable objections none of which could be described as remotely ‘anti-semitic’ had right on their side.

Hitchens was wrong on the Covid-19 scam. He was wrong because he believed that Covid-19 was an actual ‘virus’, rather than just a re-badging exercise for Influenza and Colds. He didn’t see through it. Covid-19 and the ensuing imposition of the experimental gene manipulation technology injections were and are an attack on White people.
I’m surprised that you don’t see that, bearing in mind you can see that White people are being waged war upon.

I thought Mrs Thatcher lived there before she became PM? During her later years and after she left No.10 Downing Street she lived in Chester Square, Belgravia, if I recall correctly.

No. Before she was PM, Mrs Thatcher lived at one time in the Kent countryside, but also had a house in Flood Street, Chelsea, I think at the same time, or overlapping times.
I recall a Newsnight or earlier show of same type reporting about her c.1973/1974, when Heath was still PM. She was Education Secretary then. In that film, her ghastly spotty and Harrovian son, Mark, then 17, was shown cleaning the surface of the outdoor swimming pool at the Kent place.
Mrs. Thatcher bought the Dulwich house while still PM, with the idea of retiring there, because the gated compound aided security, but I do not think that she lived there long as full-time resident. She then moved elsewhere, maybe —as you suggest— to Belgravia. Her last years were spent living, I think for free, or at a discount, at the Ritz.

So that utterly thick libertarian extremist rag, the Daily Telegraph, owned as it is by the billionaire Barclay Brothers who can’t even be bothered to pay some tax here, is, once again, talking rot about COVID-19.
Those deaths they allege are due to the present government’s abject failure over the course of the pandemic. Boris The Butcher locked down too late, Rishi Sunak and Boris weakened the restrictions earlier than they should have done in the Spring/Summer of 2020 and they both failed to impose the lockdown near Christmas of that year early enough.
This government made many errors which no other country did hence we had one of the world’s highest death rates.
Priti Evil didn’t even bother to impose travel restrictions early into the first wave. Still, only old, mostly white people were dying so she didn’t care.
ALL of this added-up to an exceptionally poor response to the pandemic and it built-up more delays in the NHS than there would have been if Boris and his morons had tackled the pandemic with more intelligence like Singapore did, Germany, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, the list goes on and on.
P.S Any so-called ‘newspaper’ that thinks Lord Frost is worth listening to is pretty much not worth listening to on other subjects. After all, he said Boris’s Brexit deal was brilliant but only a few months later after he himself had negotiated it he wanted to rewrite it ie the NI Protocol.🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Even though Mrs Thatcher was an economic libertarian and fairly extreme market fundamentalist she did have some traditionally Tory opinions ie she wanted to bring back hanging, she wasn’t hugely in favour of mass immigration and she was not afraid to be authoritarian at times.
If she had been PM during the pandemic, I tend to think she would have handled it quite a lot better than Boris and company but then she did have more of an IQ level than Boris and virtually none of his ministers would have got anywhere near being sat in a cabinet led by Thatcher.
