Saturday quiz

Well, only 4/10 this week, though that was still enough to beat political journalist John Rentoul, who scored a mere 2/10. I answered questions 2, 6, 7, and 8 correctly, no. 7 being at best an educated guess. In the back of my mind I also knew the answers to questions 4 and 9, but could not exactly recall the names.

Talking point

https://chadcrowley.substack.com/p/the-return-of-the-political-carl

A nation begins to die the moment it forgets who its enemies are, because identity is shaped not only by what we are, but by what we are willing to reject.

Carl Schmitt, the brilliant German jurist and political theorist, warned that all politics begins with distinction—the drawing of a line between friend and enemy, between those with whom we share fate and those who threaten our survival. To erase that line is not an act of progress or enlightenment, but an act of surrender, the first step in the dissolution of any real order.

Britain, 2025

https://www.mylondon.news/news/north-london-news/light-fingered-north-london-secretary-31596352

A light-fingered secretary who funnelled away £53,000 while working for a top legal firm has avoided jail after the judge took pity on her abusive upbringing. Aminata Pungi, 36, a serial shoplifter who told a probation officer she could not remember her previous convictions for theft, received an 18-month suspended sentence at Inner London Crown Court on Thursday (May 8).

Facing a three-year starting point, due to her previous convictions and the cross-border nature of the fraud, defence counsel Sahara Fergus-Simms did enough to convince Mr Recorder Campbell that her client should avoid jail, telling the judge about Ms Pungi’s 18-week pregnancy and her difficult upbringing after fleeing war in her native Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ms Fergus-Simms told the court Ms Pungi was fostered by family in the UK, but allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of her aunt and her partner, who fled the UK before he could face a trial. Describing one particularly disturbing incident, Ms Fergus-Simms said Ms Pungi’s aunt attended her school ‘wielding a knife’ while Ms Pungi was told to hide in a cupboard by her PE teacher.

Ms Fergus-Simms also claimed Ms Pungi’s shoplifting started as a way to feed herself without support from her family, but this became ‘a habit that stuck’.

Sparing her prison, Recorder Campbell said: “The greatest punishment you have is you are unable to pursue your dream career in the law.”

Ms Pungi was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, with no compensation order. Prosecutors also declined to pursue the money through the Proceeds of Crime Act, as there was no realistic prospect of the cash being recovered.”

[My London]

My first thought is that the defendant really ought to go out and buy a lottery ticket…

My second thought is that Britain is now largely a dustbin full of trash.

I do have a third point. How could the sentencing judge have imagined that the defendant could have had a career in law, had she not now been convicted (again) ? She had a number of previous convictions, for one thing.

Oh dear…

In fact, Goodwin is partly right, but only partly. The answer to his posed question is “No!” or, at best, “50-50“.

The problem is that, while Goodwin notes the dangers to free speech emanating from “woke” or “politically-correct” directions, and also from Muslim/Islamist directions, he (as usual) omits to mention the direction from which the main danger to free speech in the UK comes— Jewish Zionism.

GB News itself is well and truly (((infiltrated))).

A few of my experiences, over more than a decade, of the troublemaking of that evil pack:

There is no “exodus”. Au contraire.

Migration-invasion. Migration-occupation.

Going beyond what Goodwin says there, if there were a real unblinking review of the social effects (crime, single mothers, abandoned children, “social parasitism” etc) of having a non-white or mixed-race population (not just recent migrants/invaders) in the UK, the British people would be shocked, not least because it would totally contradict the lying propaganda pumped out in schools, newspapers, radio, TV, and by System drones there and in Parliament etc.

Simon Mann

I notice that the famous “contract soldier”, Simon Mann, has died at age 72. Looks like he had a heart attack while pursuing a “keep fit” regime.

I read his book, Cry Havoc. Pretty poor.

I believe that he was from a wealthy family based in the New Forest. I read in his book that, either after his return to the UK or just before, his Jewish wife managed to sell his, I think inherited, country house for a very high sum (if memory serves, about £9M), which was a financial lifesaver for him.

Mann made millions from his hazardous activities, and certainly showed grit, especially during his imprisonment in the unpleasant state of Equatorial Guinea. In the end, though, you go out from this world with nothing material, just as you entered it. A fact that Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, the “Russian” and “Ukrainian” Jew oligarchs, and other mega-wealthy, might like to ponder upon.

  1. Too many people are still voting for the evil, profoundly anti-British, undemocratic morons of the globalist Labour Party and the fake libertarian globalist, so-called Conservative Party or the old Liberal Party in disguise as it should be known as.

  2. Starmer truly is an utterly despicable traitor to this country with his appalling sell-out of our business people and workers to India and the USA.

If only the personality free zone would go out into a thunderstorm and get killed by a lightening strike. Why can’t God give Britain some good luck for a change?

    1. Mind you, saying that, who would take over? That illustrious Foreign Secretary with the race grifting chip on his shoulder, David Lammy, or the slapper from up North presently posing as Deputy PM!

To give Labour their due even they have had some not too awful Foreign Secretaries in the past eg people like David Owen and Robin Cook but Lammy must be a piss take!

      1. John:
First, Reform has to break up the (main) System parties and public expectations. Then, there has to be a social-national party capable of seizing power.

    2. His trade deals with India and America are disgraceful sell-outs to those countries and were no doubt carefully planned by the unelected bastard as a punishment for the country daring to vote leave in 2016. As a Remainer in that referendum and someone who wanted to overturn the vote he and many other Remainers like old Tory fossil, Heseltine, still remain embittered by the result. We have to be punished for having the temerity to vote leave.

  3. The voters should break into two groups ie one that is pro-Brexit that will turn towards voting for Reform UK or smaller pro-Brexit, ‘Right-wing’ parties and the other towards the anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats/Green Party.

Rightly, this will leave the fake Conservative Party and the globalist Labour Party in the dustbin of history where they belong. This process might well be underway.

One thing is for sure, Labour and the fake Conservatives can not make Brexit ‘work’ or do not want to make it work.

  4. Labour and fake Conservative sabotaged Brexit from day one. Teresa May thought she needed a stengthened mandate to deliver Brexit so she went to the country asking for one to deliver it. This was a reasonable proposition to ask for though not strictly necessary. Unfortunately, due to mistakes during the campaign, a surge in support for Corbyn and the illogical and irrational workings of our deeply undemocratc First Past The Post electoral system she lost the previous tiny Tory majority.

Really, she should have said to the country that having failed to obtain a decent majority and having a severely disunited rabble behind her in parliament a decent agreement to produce Brexit could not be obtained so Brexit would not be pursued futher.

  5. Are we going to have Indians and Pakistanies fighting on our streets because of the tension there is at present between India and Pakistan? There was trouble in Birmingham a few years ago between those ethnic groups.

The wonders of ‘cultural enrichment’ and ‘diversity is a strength’ become more apparent by the day!🙄🙄🙄

  6. Bill Gates does. He set-up a Foundation in his name and has pledged to give it the vast bulk of his huge fortune when he dies.. The ex wife of Jeff Bezos has given away millions of her divorce settlement to various good causes. Many of the world’s wealthest people have their own charitable foundations. After a certain level of wealth has been achieved gaining more doesn’t bring additional pleasure 9

The term “good causes” may or may not be accurate; the devil is in the detail. Same applies to Gates.Even “Robert Maxwell” had supposedly “charitable” foundations (often based in non-transparent offshore jurisdictions such as Liechtenstein and Panama), I believe.

  8. Matt Goodwin, the so-called economic case for mass immigration was ALWAYS a load of bullshit and is today to anyone with an IQ or basic understanding of GCSE level economics. Labour and so-called Conservatives hate this country and its people and have always wanted us to be destroyed. What do you think is the reasoning behind liberal globalist nonsense phrases like ‘diversity is a strength’?

Tories wanted mass immigration for cheap labour and Labour wanted it because they intensely dislike Britain and have always been an internationalist/globalist party.

  9. Richard Branson is, by far, the most annoying member of that group you mention. With his air of total self-assurance and more than a little arrogance, he pontificates on subjects he knows little about. In 2022 and 2023 he offered his impecably liberal opinions on capital punishment in Singapore for drug dealers. The Singaporean government and its excellent Interior Minister/Home Secretary (who is probably one of the world’s best), Mr K Shanmugam, refuted his baseless arguments but Branson was having none of it. Eventually, the government in Singapore got so fed-up with Branson that Mr Shanmugam offered to pay Branson’s air fare to Singapore and invite him to a live TV discussion on the death penalty in that country. Needless to say, Branson refused this offer of a debate with Singapore’s Home Secretary /Interior Minister.

  10. How come that an informed and astute person still uses the totally controlled propaganda tool ‘wikipedia’ as a reference.

    Disappointed… 😦

    1. Indeed, wikipedia and his WEF groomed founder are total propaganda. Ok, if you ask for a flower’s Latin name they probably tell you the truth but as soon as you get into history or politics, it’s a collection of lies.

As in the case of the article on Captain Ramsay who has never been a Nazi or a traitor but a real British patriot trying to avert a war.
