A few thoughts out of season

Well, here we are on Boxing Day, and a few thoughts came to my mind as I perused the online newspapers and Twitter/X.

The first arose when I saw a tweet from a Jewish individual wishing readers a “Happy Hannukah” (also spelled “Chanukah”).

In the past, not only when I was a child in the 1960s, or a teenager in the 1970s, but also in more recent decades, the public expression of Jewish religion was rather limited. I do not recall having ever seen the word(s) “Hanukkah” or “Chanukah” (except in the odd book) until fairly recently, perhaps 1990s or later. Not in England, where I was mostly brought up; and not in Australia, where I lived from early 1967 to late 1969.

I certainly do not recall this Jewish festival being pushed into the public realm in the UK or even, when I was resident there intermittently in the years 1989-1993, in the New York/New Jersey area.

Now, it is different. 10 Downing Street has had a menorah, the multi-armed candlestick of the Jews, in its window, as well as an Israeli flag projected onto the facade of the building.

We also see the words “Happy Chanukah” projected onto, of all most prominent places, Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square.

[Nelson’s Column on Christmas Day 2024]

In fact, menorah representations or sculptures, as well as Hannukah slogans, have suddenly appeared in towns and cities all over the UK (and elsewhere) in recent years.

This is in a sense strange. The actual Jewish population has not altered in size, substantially, for some years. Indeed, there is some evidence that numbers of Jews in the UK have decreased since the 1980s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Jews#Demographics.

The Jewish population in the UK is around 250,000-300,000, so far less than 1% of the whole UK population. Perhaps half of one percent. Yet their symbols have, in recent years, proliferated in public positions.

At present, the Jews are celebrating Hannukah, a religious festival of which Wikipedia says:

Hanukkah[a] (/ˈhænəkə//ˈhɑːnəkə/; חֲנֻכָּה‎ Ḥănukkā listen) is a Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE.[3][4]

[Wikipedia]

In other words, it commemorates, at least inter alia, military victory in the Middle East, including the capture of Jerusalem well over two thousand years ago. Put another way, it can be taken to be an expression of Jewish ethnic supremacism (the same is true of many of their festivals).

The contrast with Christmas is stark; Christmas, with its message of peace.

Originally instituted as a feast “in the manner of Sukkot (Booths)”, it does not come with the corresponding obligations, and is therefore a relatively minor holiday in strictly religious terms. Nevertheless, Hanukkah has attained major cultural significance in North America and elsewhere, especially among secular Jews, due to often occurring around the same time as Christmas during the festive season.[8]

[Wikipedia]

It is common to see non-Jews in the UK etc, people who are no doubt well-meaning but ignorant, conflating the two festivals, for the simple reason that they occur not infrequently at the same time of year. They are, however, quite different, and actually have no connection with each other.

That Jewish ethnic supremacism can be seen in the tweet below, showing (and approving) Israeli Army personnel lighting a Hannukah menorah in a looted and occupied home in Lebanon.

Seems that projecting political messages onto the buildings of others is a game anyone can play.

Interesting that Reform UK now has a greater number of members than the moribund “Conservative” Party. Of course, Reform is a mass movement, a grassroots movement, albeit one controlled and literally owned by a few people and, mainly, by Nigel Farage, whereas the Conservative Party is merely the rump, or fag-end, of a once ubiquitous grassroots party which (in the 1940s, 1950s, even 1960s) had literally millions of members (as also had Labour).

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14227257/Reform-memberships-surpasses-Tories.html.

So 70% of UK people now think immigration is now running at “too high” a level. Only 3% think that immigration is “too low”. I suppose that that tiny 3% minority includes Yvette Cooper, Starmer, and (other) very silly people such as Zoe Gardner (“@ZoeJardiniere”), who seem to live in some alternate reality. However, those pro-migration-invasion crazies are the ones often seen on TV, posing as “experts”. Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan…

I wager that, were only white English people to be counted in that poll, the 70% figure would rise to somewhere around 90%.

Ukrainians are refusing to fight for the regime of the Jew Zelensky, for his brutal and shambolic dictatorship.

Saturday quiz

This week, a narrow victory over political journalist John Rentoul. He scored 5/10, but I trumped that with 6/10. I did not know the answers to questions 2, 4, 6, and 10. I really should have got numbers 4 and 10, but there it is.

From the newspapers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12931857/Mothballing-assault-ships-beginning-end-Royal-Marines-sailor-shortage.html

Two amphibious warships are set to be ‘mothballed’ in a move critics have said could spell ‘the beginning of the end’ for the Royal Marines, as the Navy tries to tackle a sailor shortage crisis.

HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark could be retired from active service under plans put forward by Defence Secretary Grant Shapps, according to The Times.

The plans would be designed to help deal with the manpower crisis in the Royal Navy, freeing up more than 200 sailors for other ships – most likely the force’s new fleet of Type 26 frigates when they come into service.

But the move has been slammed by critics who say the ships are crucial to the functioning of the elite commando force, with experts saying their retirement would weaken the Marines by diminishing their ability to storm beaches from the sea.”

[Daily Mail]

Ha ha! In what world does Britain presently need the “ability to storm beaches“? Not the world where the only “storming” of beaches is by migrant-invaders invading the UK.

As far as I am concerned, the armed forces have virtually no useful role in a Britain becoming totally alien, and which soon will have nothing its inhabitants will wish to defend anyway.

Come to think of it, I was just watching an episode of Spooks, a TV series I did not see when it was first broadcast. That led me to thoughts around what use is MI5. The damage (possibly mortal) being done to the UK is not by spies infiltrating government offices, and not by anarchists or others wanting to assassinate MPs etc, but by a tsunami of immigration, and by the cultural trashing of our mass media, publishing, schools etc. About all that, MI5 has nothing to say, and even less to do.

A man and a teenager have been convicted of murder after detectives used CCTV footage to track down their escape routes home.

[defendant]

Nah’shun Thomas, 20, of Bournemouth Road in Peckham, and a 17-year-old who cannot be identified because of his age were convicted on Friday January 5 of murdering Kalabe Legesse in Peckham Rye.

More “diversity”.

How on Earth can we create a more advanced society without —without creating— a more advanced population? Instead, the UK is nosediving to demographic disaster. The overall IQ of the population is sliding, and has been for some time. Not surprising when you look at specimens such as that in the above photograph.

Interesting. Is there serious dissension in the Israeli Cabinet and/or Army high command?

Douglas McGregor: The United States and NATO will not admit defeat in Ukraine. That’s not how it works in Washington. And do they admit it secretly? Undoubtedly.

It even became a proof of our weakness for the whole world. Our equipment, our technologies, our advice, even our assistance on the ground and in the air – all of it failed against the Russians.

The only thing we have achieved is that we have increased Russia’s prestige, power and influence in the world, which is exactly the opposite of what we said we wanted to achieve.”

Zelensky’s ricebowl is being taken away.

The facts would be even more striking if the msm etc stopped calling people “British” just because they have a UK passport.

Not yet sure what the Homeland Party might be, but they seem to be, overall, on the right side, anyway.

What a disgusting corrupt puppet of the Jewish/Israel lobby he is.

Saturday quiz

Image

Well, this week brought another victory over Blairite political journalist John Rentoul: he scored 4/10 to my 7/10. I did not know the answers to questions 1, 8, and 10.

Unsurprising. If you import the culturally and racially inferior, you import, with them, their politics and social attitudes. Corruption, cronyism, tribalism, clan loyalty etc. Yes, we too have some of those, but not exclusively, or to the same extent.

Apart from that, some authors are hard to film well or credibly. A few that come to my mind would be E.W. Hornung (Raffles etc), G.K. Chesterton (Father Brown stories etc), and John le Carre.

The BBC (partly thanks to Alec Guinness) did well with the TV series Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and Smiley’s People. Peter Egan’s performance in A Perfect Spy, likewise, was stellar, lifting the level considerably, the short series complex but good.

Other attempts at filming le Carre have mostly fallen rather flat: the fairly recent Tinker, Tailor… film, The Tailor of Panama (rubbish), The Constant Gardener etc. Some were “all right”: The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, The Looking-Glass War, The Little Drummer Girl.

Another author whose books have not filmed well (admittedly, I believe I only saw one of the films, Gorky Park) is Martin Cruz Smith. A rare Western author (American at that) able to get under the Soviet skin, but the film or films let him down.

Gaia Hypothesis?

I am moved to repost my blog from January of 2019: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/01/26/the-tide-is-coming-in-reflections-on-the-possible-end-of-our-present-civilization-and-what-might-follow/.

As frequently seen today, a tweeter confuses helping people with telling people that they must do this or that, or not do this or that.

Hitchens has far more patience than me. Logic is “not required on voyage” in the UK of 2021; many make do without it,

I have blogged recently about the transition Australia has made from being “the lucky country” of the 1950s and 1960s (abundance, civil rights, prosperity, a great degree of personal freedom, an almost-entirely white European population) to today’s far more populated, multiracial, multikulti, “woke”, and stressed mess of a country, which seems to have combined the worst aspects of both finance-capitalism and old-style socialist control.

I would never have believed it, having been there for nearly three years as a child (1967-69).

We are, naturally, opposed to the increasing proportion of non-Europeans in the UK and Europe generally, but we must not forget that much of the white English population is composed of useless, uncultured deadheads, who also offer nothing but, in their case, (possible) genetic material for the creation of a future super-race. The level of those English people has to be raised; if not, then they too are useless and will have to be jettisoned.

More from the new Australian “woke” police state. Those “police” were akin to the “co-workers” of the the militia (police) in the Soviet Union.

The msm and many of its journalists or scribblers are collusive. They know or guess much of the transnational conspiracy, but collude with it for reasons of personal advancement. They are, in effect, enemy elements.

https://twitter.com/RealBlackIrish/status/1426493007881191426?s=20

More enemies.

https://twitter.com/DarrenPlymouth/status/1426129577500422145?s=20

Exactly. The System needs at least two “major parties” (even if their combined membership is only about 600,000, i.e. 1% of the UK population) because it preserves the facade of a binary choice, the facade of supposed “democracy” etc. So fake Labour has to exist, just as fake Conservative Party has to exist, in order to fool the mass of the people into thinking that they have a real choice. They do not have any such choice.

Labour, like the “Conservatives” has to exist and pretend to put forward a bunch of policies, when really both parties have been stripped of real policy, real difference, and even real politicians (look at the pathetic deadheads now crowding the Commons and Lords alike). You want to see what “ZOG” looks like? Just look at “British” political parties and MPs today.

The (((propaganda narrative))) never stops in occupied UK.

Late tweets

Both are false: the UK no longer has a “worldbeating” Army, Navy, and Air Force (etc), and/but the forces available could stop the migration-invasion.

I wonder when reality (as to the first) will kick in? When Britain’s “show the flag” warship —proposed to be sent to the South China Sea— meets China’s 800+ warships and submarines?

From the horse’s mouth…or should that be the reptile’s?

[the famous “banksters” mural in East London, now painted over following incessant complaints by Jewish organizations]

“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”… [Revelation, 13:17].

Or the PIN of his name?

Facemask nonsense

On so-called “Freedom Day”, or the day after, 90% or more of shoppers in my local Waitrose were masked. I was not, of course. What a difference nearly a month makes. Today, only about half, in fact quite possibly below half.
