I happened to see online a recent 7-minute Sky News clip about a place on the front-line between Russian and Kiev-regime military formations. 2,000 out of the original 100,000+ population were still living in the partly-ruined city.
One man stuck there was describing life as lived in that place and said that people were (in the translated words) “eating grass“. That was used in the headline as well.
Well, I could understand some of what he was saying, and the word used was not (in Russian anyway) the word for “grass”, but something called “portulak“. I looked it up. Turns out that the English word is “purslane“:

Yes, and as I was just surmising, that Grushko is the son of Viktor Grushko (1930-2001), the one-time colleague and boss of Oleg Gordievsky, the intelligence officer, spy, and then famous defector of the 1980s. They both served at the same time in the First Chief Directorate of the KGB (now the SVR), and Grushko senior became its Deputy Head, right up to the official disbandment of the KGB in 1991, and transition of the First Chief Directorate into the SVR (External Intelligence Service).
Ironically, in view of his risky espionage against the KGB, and his famously perilous interrogation and later escape, Gordievsky (1938-2025) outlived Grushko by many years, dying at age 86 as against Grushko’s 71 years. In the part of the country where I live, on the southern coast of England, the ageing population is very evident. Not only in hospitals but also in supermarkets etc, it appears that almost everyone is well above retirement age. Many immigrants do not work anyway, but are totally parasitic;
Many who do work, eg in the NHS, then invite (up to 20) non-working “dependants” and “family members” into the UK;
As the immigrant workers age, they themselves will become a burden on the State, thus “requiring” even more immigrants to help deal with them;
Robotics and AI will eventually make most forms of low-paid and even much currently “high-paid” employment unnecessary, leading by necessity to implementation of a “basic income” system, but that cannot work at all when millions of parasites arrive here annually.

There is no doubt that there is a strong link between Israel, UK-based Israel lobby groups (such as Labour Friends of Israel), pro-Israel Labour MPs in the UK, “antifascist” (mainly Jewish) orgs such as “Hope not Hate”, and sex crimes, particularly of the “paedophilia” kind.

This is all so frustrating. The UK economy is in the toilet. Our energy market is a joke. The borders are wide open. Crime is basically legal. We are living in managed decline. And Starmer’s Labour is working around the clock to … save Labour.
Which is why I myself was misled, at first. About 6 years ago, I assumed, perhaps lazily, that a former DPP would be an effective leader and administrator, despite the disastrous incumbency of Common Purpose drone Alison Saunders, who took over as DPP from Starmer.

I doubt whether replacing one Labour Friends of Israel puppet with one or more others will save Labour, either at the 7 May local elections or at the (?) 2029 General Election. Most of the white British people who voted Labour at GE 2024 have already checked out to Reform, Restore, or the Greens. The Labour-voting Muslim bloc has also largely if not entirely abandoned Labour. It may be that the Labour Party will struggle to get a 20% popular vote whichever clown poses as leader.
So I’ve just checked Hansard. And it’s clear that Starmer also misquoted Robbins. He took half a quote to make it look like Robbins had denied pressure had been brought to bear. Where the full quote actually says the opposite.
