The REACH meeting on 16 November took place between noon and 1pm, and was the first of six sessions set to be held by the group over the next six months. During the online meeting one official claimed that โfour or five people in the last yearโ left DBT โout of pure frustration with the fact that they weren’t advancing and they weren’t growing to the same extent as their white counterpartsโ.
Another civil servant responded to the comment, saying: โI think itโs met with that defensiveness as well. It’s like the first reaction is to defend the position and state why but there isn’t a defence.โ
During the discussion, which focused on racism and diversity, one official said: โI’m a trade advisorโฆ and so often what I have done is connect what I believe in terms of the network with what my day job isโฆ I work a lot to support ethnic minority businesses because I’m a trade advisor and so indirectly, so what I’m urging most people to think about is how can you connect your day job to being an ally and what does that look like?โ
At the end of the discussion several civil servants made comments about preventing leaks from the meeting. One mandarin said: โCan I also just stress the importance of keeping the conversations that we’ve had here today to respect the anonymity… because the only way that we can foster these conversations in a safe space [sic] if we protect that.โ
They continued: โAnd the reason why that I’m saying this is to be honest, that there has been articles that’s been posted online and in UK newspapers about what we do in a network, not just our network, but also other networks have been targeted. So it is really important to think about that. I’m not saying you cannot share what we’ve discussed in theory, but just don’t attribute it to a particular person so that we can continue to have these conversations.โ
The comment was followed up by another official who said: โJust to add to what [civil servant] said, it’s the reason why we don’t record callsโ.”
The “culture war” will probably, eventually, become a real civil war. Not today, and not tomorrow, but somewhere down the line. One triggering factor will be the ever-encroaching tide against free speech and freedom of expression. After all, when ideas are prevented from being expressed, the river takes another course.

More importantly, how can our society even be maintained as it is now (let alone improved) when a million blacks and browns (the vast majority), and many quite “primitive”, enter the UK in a single year? Do not forget that those are net figures. Pretty much what I and others (BNP, Nick Griffin, Andrew Brons, the National Front, the British Movement etc, right back to the 1950s and Colin Jordan) have been saying for about 60 years (in my case since the 1970s).

The above tweet hits the nail on the head. No matter whether people on this or that State benefit “deserve” the monies received (and do the Royal Family “deserve” their inherited wealth? I have blogged once or twice in the past about my impressions of that odd little state, the DDR (East Germany), seen briefly in 1988, only a year before its whole system collapsed.
As announced yesterday, the magistrates’ court trial to which I was made subject went badly for me. I cannot blog about that at present.
I am presently due to be sentenced at the end of January, or in February, of 2024. After that, I have 15 working days, i.e. three weeks, in which to serve any Notice of Appeal. Any appeal hearing, before a Circuit Judge (sitting with two magistrate-assessors), would be a complete rehearing, which would probably not happen until the Autumn of 2024, perhaps not until 2025.
I shall decide in February 2024, post-sentencing, whether I shall appeal.

Several aspects of the initial Hamas attack on southern Israel last month struck me at the time and thereafter. First, the fact that the Gazan forces were able to plan and carry out such an operation at all. Secondly, that they were able to keep up what seems to have been complete operational security until “D-Day”. Thirdly, that it took Israeli Army forces 12 hours to arrive.
Israel is a kind of armed camp. Most citizens are liable for full-time or reserve service, Israel spends over 5% of GDP on military activity, and it is constantly on alert, yet here we see that there was a large-scale incursion at a known flashpoint (the Gaza border region), and it took Israeli forces 12 hours to respond effectively.
The relatively short distances also make that response time seem long; Tel Aviv itself is only 44 miles from the Gaza northern border, and perhaps another 10-20 miles to the scenes of attack.
There have been “conspiracy theories” asking whether this was a “Pearl Harbor”, i.e. did the Israeli Government know in advance, but allow the attack to happen, in order to have an excuse to reduce Gaza to rubble and destroy both Hamas and much of the population?
That theory sounds monstrous and also unlikely, but it cannot be ruled out, especially with factors such as the offshore oil.
I suppose that history will judge.
