Sir Maurice Oldfield [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Oldfield] knew better. He actively encouraged young foreigners to study in the UK, on the basis that, at the very least, they would be influenced by British attitudes and culture. Whether that would now be a good thing, the UK having been trashed by lower cultures etc, is an open question. Still, the point yet stands.

Also, without even getting into matters of direct “espionage”, young persons who study at British schools and colleges are quite likely to harbour friendly feelings towards British people —and so the UK— years later, when they might have developed into high-ranking members of their native societies (though I suppose that, in some cases, the reverse might be so!).

Here are more of that individual’s words of “wisdom”:

The above could be said, with far more justice, of both the Arab and the Jewish/Israeli infiltration, particularly the latter. “…It has had a corrupting influence on politics, finance, law, property…and education, and it needs to be removed. That needs to start now.”

…and the Russian influence is far less influential and, indeed, corrupting, because there are few Russians long-embedded in British society (usually poor emigres from the time of the 1917 Revolution, or from the 1940s), whereas there are maybe as many as 300,000 Jews in the UK, mostly in London.

UK minister calls for overthrow of Putin

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10549195/OWEN-MATTHEWS-Vladimir-Putins-benighted-people-rise-topple-him.html

It seems that the UK minister calling for Putin’s overthrow is James Cleverly, the “mixed race” “Conservative” who has climbed higher than expected for someone whose only paper qualification is a “degree” in “Hospitality Management” from a “McUniversity”.

I notice that the rather polemical Daily Mail report is written by Owen Matthews [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Matthews].

Incidentally, I was slightly acquainted with that journalist’s mother, Ludmilla Matthews, nearly 40 years ago, around 1983. In fact, she was one of those who taught me on a part-time Russian course (about 3 or 4 classes per week, of which she taught one class), at a language school in Central London. A nice though quite reserved lady, who walked with a limp.

I was unaware of her background in detail until I happened to read, around 2012, Owen Matthews’ interesting book, Stalin’s Children, which was partly about Ludmilla Matthews and her harsh life as a child in the Soviet Union under Stalin and in time of war (early 1940s).

How time flies! Owen Matthews must have been about 12 when I was taught by his mother. Now he is over 50.

I recall Ludmilla Matthews once saying that a Russian phrase I used (I think that the class she taught was Russian Conversation) was “stylish“. Praise is always remembered…

I also remember Ludmilla Matthews because I was in her little class (about 10 people) one afternoon when I was “abducted” by a striking girl with very long hair, who strode into her class before it had finished, looked at me and said “ah, you’re the one. Come with me“!

I may blog about that incident later in detail, but suffice it to say for now that the girl later claimed that I looked exactly like St. Herman of Alaska, of whom I had never heard (apparently, there was such a body: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herman_of_Alaska). Not quite sure how to take that, though I did have a beard at the time!

That girl also said that she had an icon of St. Herman above her bed (in Kensington), and would I like to see it? Well, ever one to jump in where the angels fear to tread, I did go with her. I thought at the time that she must have some position in the language school (near Warren Street/Euston Square) because, inter alia, she (with me hesitating at the door) walked straight into another room where a Russian called Vitya was holding a class consisting of only three young members of the West German Foreign Ministry, with whom I was in fact slightly acquainted. She spoke quite peremptorily to the said Vitya before sweeping out again.

Suffice to say that I never did see the girl’s bedroom, or her icon…This needs a longer telling of the story, though. Anyway, a week or two later, Ludmilla Matthews told me that that girl had mental health problems, was actually dangerous, and had once turned up at the Matthews’ home with a young Australian naval officer whom she had encountered on the London Underground and had “abducted”, like me, but by use of a different story.

Still, that is, in detail, a tale for another blog post, and some other time.

Wider questions re Ukraine and Russia

Russia/Ukraine on a map of Eurasia:

[Wikipedia: The Kurgan hypothesis places the Volga-Dnieper region of southern Russia and Ukraine as the urheimat of the Proto-Indo-Europeans.[29]]

It may be that the Jew clown currently posing as President of the Ukraine has fled. Situation as I write— still unclear.

If Zelensky has fled, he will probably have gone either to Lvov (300+ miles west of Kiev) or overseas, perhaps to Poland. Lvov seems most likely.

At present, reports indicate that both main airports near Kiev are being contested by Russian and Kiev regime troops. If at least one airport is secured by Russian forces, then reinforcements will pour in from deeper in Russian territory. Fresh troops. That alone would probably tip the balance of the battle for Kiev.

As I write, there are reports that there are Russian tanks already in the streets of Kiev. Again, situation not quite clear.

So far, there seems little appetite among the civilian population for a battle with Russian forces. That may be because, after all, the two countries and peoples are closely-linked ethnically, linguistically and historically. It is not the same as Middle Eastern cities resisting the ISIS barbarians, or 1945 Berlin resisting the Red Army. The Russians are not going to deliberately brutalize the civilian population, and the Ukrainian civilians are aware of that.

UK msm

Interesting to see that the obsessions of the UK msm over the past few years are now chased off the news agenda: “Covid”, facemask nonsense, “vaccines”, “boosters” etc, “Black Lives Matter”, climate change, Greta Nut (the unpleasant Swedish autistic) etc.

It would be good were the UK msm at least to attempt unbiased analysis, rather than behaving in as “controlled” a fashion as, well, Russian TV…

Very irresponsible for the Jew-Zionist Kiev regime to incite the population to resist the Russian Army with Molotov cocktails etc. That could only end one way. I doubt that many will heed the call.

That may be so, but this is only a matter of time. The Ukrainian forces cannot prevail. The country is now under blockade by sea and air and only has open borders to the west. That means that food will start to run short, as will fuel for cars and other motorized transport.

I still think that the Kiev regime will fall within a day or so. It will probably try to set up an alternative “capital city” at Lvov. Were I myself in Putin’s boots, I should probably allow that to happen, then concentrate on, firstly, installing a puppet regime/government in Kiev, and then, secondly, securing Ukraine east of the Dnieper, as well as the Black Sea coast. Such a strategy would leave Russia in rulership over all of the 7 major Ukrainian cities except Lvov, and also in control of almost all significant power plants, as well as all sea and river ports, including Odessa, the only really large port.

True up to a point, but Russia’s forces have been greatly upgraded in the past 10-20 years, whereas Ukraine’s have been trashed by 30 years of shambolic, corrupt, and near-meaningless “independence”. Also, it can only be a matter of time before fuel for the remaining Ukrainian tanks runs out. Tanks use a lot of fuel. Russia has command of the skies, too, and it seems that the Kiev regime has lost 10%, maybe 20% or more of its small air force.

What Russia (and Putin) lacks is ideology. There is no ideology, which underpins strategy. There is only a very vague Russian nationalism and (even more vague) pan-Slavism. That should mean that Russia poses little aggressive threat to Central and Western Europe, but the ruling circles and secret cabals of the West will make sure that their populations fail to understand that.

Hard to see why Putin would bother with the Jewish/Zionist Kiev regime now, with his forces encircling all or most main cities, including Kiev itself. Maybe as a tactic.

While any such talks are in progress, the roads will be increasingly full of Russian tanks, and the skies full of the canopies of Russian parachute forces.

Strategically, the Kiev regime has already lost. Its forces cannot be resupplied, not even by land from Poland (because the Russians have near-supremacy of the air), and with food starting to run out in Kiev, the ability or even wish of the civilian population, and military forces, to resist, will be sapped.

What matters now, or will matter soon, is what is going to happen, both politically and militarily, after the inevitable Russian victory; focussing on the three areas of significance (Kiev, the territory east of the Dnieper, and the Black Sea littoral).

This is a provocation that is entirely unnecessary from the British point of view. Estonians have a right to their own society and government, but are being used as a platform for NATO (i.e. NWO, the New World Order plan).

Anyway, one has to ask why no-one in the msm (except Peter Hitchens) is questioning what British interest there is in supporting the shambolic and corrupt Jewish regime in Kiev, a regime which will probably not last beyond the weekend.

Talk about “poking the Bear”…but soon the Kiev regime will have no armed forces anyway.

Kolomoisky. Jew, of course: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ihor_Kolomoyskyi.

If British troops were to fire on Russian troops, whether from Poland, Romania, or the North Pole, the response would be immediate and massive. As for Tom Harwood, he has proven time and again that he is an idiot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Harwood.

Henry Bolton is that ridiculous waste of space who tried to be UKIP leader briefly, together with his vacuous and much younger girlfriend. This Ukraine situation really is bringing out every woodentopped deadhead in England. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Bolton_(British_politician).

Sturgeon now attempting to be taken seriously on the international stage. Ha ha! Ukraine is meant to be a tragedy, not a comedy…

You would think so, if you were to assess that based on the biased UK msm, or the stupid comments of Tom Tugendhat.

Out with her!

Late thoughts about the Ukraine situation

If there is an urban guerrilla “war” (brief war) in Kiev, it will be unpleasant but will not last long at all.

Russian forces are in or by Kiev already. They are probably waiting for reinforcements. If reports are correct, the Russians have still not brought up more than 25-30% of their immediately-available strength. Behind that, they have hundreds of thousands more, should that be necessary.

Time is actually on the Russian side now overall. They can be resupplied, the Kiev regime forces cannot. Fuel, food, ammunition.

To attack Russia directly from the UK, as some foolish people advocate, or even to send troops to assist the Kiev regime, would be a death sentence for a very high proportion of the British people. Russia has 6,200 nuclear warheads and bombs (the UK has about 120).

This is not Britain’s fight. The Kiev regime is a disguised dictatorship anyway. Also, Russia has overall about 20x the conventional military power available to the UK, if not more.

Russia now has no choice but to wade through blood to a victory of sorts. Magna mater…

UKIP, Brexit Party etc are just “controlled opposition”

I happened to see the tweets below. The first are from Gerard Batten and Henry Bolton, two of the former leaders of whatever is left of UKIP.

The other tweeters seem to have both more logic and more commonsense than the two would-be “leaders”:

From Batten, complete lack of understanding that “race is the root-stock, culture is the flower“…

Look at this exchange:

What hope was there for UKIP, when its own former leaders are unsure whether, had they been born in Japan (eg in transit), or lived there, they would be Japanese? What a bunch of clowns!

Looks as though Batten needs to look at the Nuremberg Laws (the real ones, not the Jew-Zionist “edited highlights”…

UKIP is of course on a very different page vis a vis my own ideological basis. It never was social-national, and was never heavily attacked by the Jew element in the msm, a very bad sign (individual Jews tweeted etc against UKIP, but the core Zionist element was untroubled by it). UKIP was always given Press coverage, TV coverage; Farage the con-man extraordinaire was forever on Newsnight, Question Time, the TV news etc. Permitted opposition. Controlled opposition.

When UKIP was still a functioning party with a real chance of forming a small House of Commons bloc, I tweeted about it quite frequently. I am talking about between 2010-2015. After 2015, I understood that UKIP’s chance had gone (in fact, it peaked around 2014), cheated as it was by the UK’s pseudo-democratic electoral system: 12.6% of the national vote but only a small fraction of 1% of the MPs, in fact only 1 MP out of 650 (and he was a defected Conservative Party MP anyway).

I did blog a little about UKIP in the runup to the 2017 General Election. I knew that it would sink like a stone. The only reason that I now blog about it (for the first time in about a year) is because I saw those absurd Batten tweets. I was not going to blog today, but I can tack this bit about UKIP onto the start of tomorrow’s blog post.

UKIP has almost fallen into obscurity. Its not-bad 2015 General Election percentage (12.6%) fell to 1.8% in 2017, under the dim Paul Nuttall; that was the first decline in national vote-share that UKIP had ever suffered since its foundation. The 2019 General Election result was even worse: under the ludicrous Patricia Mountain, UKIP’s vote fell to 0.1%, i.e. one vote out of every thousand.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_United_Kingdom_general_election#Full_results

In fact, so obscure is UKIP now that I realize that I was scarcely aware of some of its leaders of recent years.

The tweet/reply below, by one Valerie Leppard, made me laugh (though at the same time despair at the naivety displayed):

Ms. Leppard makes much of the fact that human beings all have 99% similar DNA. That is true. In fact it is said to be considerably higher than 99% similarity. On the other hand, chimpanzees share 96% of their DNA with humans, cats share up to 90%, and even bananas share 60%! https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/human-dna-share-cats-cattle-mice-same-genetics-code-a8292111.html

How far do such facts take you? I was once a guest at a private tennis club in North London. I had gone out of politeness. Despite having played occasionally since childhood, I still scarcely know the rules or how to play properly; anyone who knows me knows that I am not very sport-oriented. I did once score a direct hit from some distance with a tennis ball, on the bottom of a Ukrainian lady who had stooped to pick up another ball, but that hardly counts!

That London tennis club was rather formal. You had to wear the right clothing etc; it also had a pleasant bar, from which one could watch people playing. I saw a doubles match and, to my untutored eye, they looked not much different from the professionals who play at Wimbledon. Of course they were different, and that is the point. There was a far greater gulf between my inept level of play and the doubles-players than there was between them and the Wimbledon champions.

Champions, or the top people in every category of activity, are ipso facto better than almost all others. However, they may not be much better than a mass, perhaps a vast mass, just below that championship level. It is that tiny amount of edge that makes the difference.

Applying that to races and, yes, in big-picture “scientific” terms the DNA of the Northern European is very very close to other peoples, and even to the most backward peoples. It is that tiny difference that, all the same, matters.

In your nothing I hope to find my everything“; “In deinem Nichts hoff ‘ ich, das All zu finden“[Goethe, Faust; Faust answering Mephistopheles, who has said that Faust’s belief is nothing].

Well, leaving such observations and reverting to the mundane world of UK politics as it is, and UKIP, I notice that even Wikipedia has found little to say of some of the post-Farage “leaders” of UKIP. In one case, that of someone called Wauchope, apparently (never heard of him), even the year of his birth is uncertain!

UKIP is said still to have 25,000 members, though I doubt that.

I see that one Freddy Vachha is now the “leader” of this embarrassing joke of a party. An Indian accountant. The tide has gone out, leaving some odd bits and pieces on the sand.

Good news:

Bad news (below): the latest attack on British culture…

I always supported public service broadcasting. Still do, but the BBC is incurable. Defund the BBC and wipe it out.

We read or hear that semi-lunatic “adviser” Dominic Cummings wants Sunak to impose spending cuts. Now that millions more face being dependent on State benefits by next year, that could just be the flame which, applied to the blue touchpaper of the present developing situation, could trigger the social-national revolution.

Finance-capitalism is failing. Old-style Marxist or Marxist-influenced socialism has already comprehensively failed, in the UK and across the world. The people will be ready to clutch at our straw. Not yet. Soon, though.

Regular readers of this blog will recall the encounters I had with a couple of similar brainwashed would-be lecturing idiots a while ago.

If staff in businesses, or anyone else, act like cartoon labour camp overseers or prison guards, then they must expect to be laughed at.

Resist the facemask nonsense! Only wear a facemask if you really have no choice, and if you do wear a mask, make sure that you do so in a manner that makes it clear that you mock the nonsense and the government of clowns. Laugh at those who take it all seriously. Laugh at the rabbits!

The Army, Navy, Marines are all recruiting now on TV. They are finding it hard going to recruit many. I wonder why? Could it be that potential recruits realize that the armed services have become a joke? Also, that they abandon their people once their useful service has ended?

Take a look at Twitter. The Jewish-Zionist cabal on Twitter constantly tweets in favour of the migrant-invaders, “generously” wanting more to invade us. Yes, that Jewish mob on Twitter are all wonderfully generous with other people’s money, State funds etc, wanting the UK to take in anyone who manages to get here, no matter how hostile or useless. The same is true of “refugees welcome” dimwits and hypocrites such as Gary Lineker, Yvette Cooper, Lily Allen and all the other usual suspects.

Batten is too late. Regular readers of my blog will know that I suggested at least a year ago that Harry and the Royal Mulatta should (and would) relocate from the UK to Southern California.

I went on to suggest that they become a “reality TV” sitcom mix, perhaps living a pseudo-“royal” life in a little house; just Harry, the Mulatta, their baby, the dog (if not abandoned) and a butler, a Benson type. “Royal Married with Children“, with the Mulatta running her henpecked “cuck” husband ragged with impossible demands, as she tries to be a contender for political positions.

Sometimes I think that I am a male Cassandra, always predicting accurately, but rarely listened to…

Well, “historian” (TV presenter) Neil Oliver may be belatedly speaking up for some free speech now, but I seem to recall that he tweeted against me years ago when I still had a Twitter account. I have never seen anything from him supporting me, eg when I was disbarred for posting 5 tweets (out of 150,000+) on socio-political matters. I likewise did not see him support Jez Turner (imprisoned for making a speech) or Alison Chabloz (persecuted, prosecuted and convicted for singing satirical songs).

I also recall how biased Oliver was when some matters involving WW2 came up on his TV show, Coast.

Scotland does seem to be even worse on free speech than England. The combined influence of Jew-Zionism, freemasonry, Common Purpose (Police Scotland is riddled with both of the last two) and post-socialist SNP petty authoritarianism.

Ironic. What does Batten think that UKIP were? Quite. Controlled opposition. Just like Brexit Party, Tommy Robinson, Breitbart, “Prison Planet” Watson, Katie Hopkins etc.

Only machineguns can sort out this upsurge of madness in the USA. What it says to me is not “there is disorder now” but “if the US system ever weakens greatly, which is quite possible, there will be civil war“. Those unpleasant scenes may well be just the start.

I noticed in Waitrose that Ben & Jerry’s icecream is not selling, and has been reduced in price as a consequence. Don’t bother to sabotage it. Just boycott it.

What will that hotel (and Britain) be like in 20+ years? I wonder… https://www.theguardian.com/cities/gallery/2016/may/05/mozambique-abandoned-grande-hotel-beira-squatters-ruins-in-pictures

Although Beira is the popular resort on the Indian Ocean, the hotel has never been able to attract many visitors.

Hard to know what to think. The Greenland ice cover is vast and deep, certainly, and Wikipedia says that “If the Greenland ice sheet were to melt away completely, the world’s sea level would rise by more than 7 m (23 ft).

If that were to happen, a scenario that has interested me since the late 1970s (along with the possible melting of polar ice proper, both from Arctic and Antarctic), then most of the major cities of the world would be drowned, situated as most are on or near sea-level.

A rise of 23ft would flood much of London, New York, Tokyo, St. Petersburg, to name only a few of the most obvious.

On the other hand, we know that Greenland has been at times warmer than it now is. The Vikings farmed there; there are remains of farmsteads from quite ancient times, certainly from the first millennium AD: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenland#History.

Not all of Greenland is ice and snow, however. In that vast land, over nine times the size of the UK, there is farming, in the southern part, by the coast.

I doubt that humanity can do much to change the climate in a significant way, but the issue is naturally one of utmost seriousness.

Less seriously, I just read that “Greenlandic coffee is a “flaming” dessert coffee (set alight before serving) made with coffee, whiskey, Kahlúa, Grand Marnier, and whipped cream. It is stronger than the familiar Irish dessert coffee.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenland#Cuisine. After a few of those, the sting of living in Greenland must at least be made less painful!

Rule Britannia

If you went, as orchestral conductor, or as ordinary tourist, to another country, and then tried to trash the traditional festivals of that country, you would be jeered at and quite possibly attacked or deported. In Britain, all sorts of oddities arrive, aided by traitors in the BBC etc, and want to disrespect us. I know that Rule Britannia is now simply an expression of an Empire that no longer exists, but it does stand for part of the national psyche. The part not yet contaminated. It must not be blotted out by the “woke”, the non-whites, the cosmopolitan Jews etc. As performed at the Proms, it is both emotional and fun. It must remain.

What About the UKIP “Revival”?

We are beginning to hear news of a UKIP revival, in which the party appears to have lost some of its older, more conservative and ex-Conservative (Party) stalwarts, but gained younger members who are more social-national in inclination. The Guardian has published reports on this:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/mar/03/new-ukip-members-shifting-party-far-right

I have tweeted (before that platform saw fit to expel me) and blogged in the past about UKIP, in particular how UKIP peaked in 2014 and has since then been declining. As the Guardian noted, the nadir came with the pathetic joke leadership of Henry Bolton, but the seeds of failure were always there, embedded in UKIP’s “conservative nationalism”, when what UKIP required was to get rid of nuisances and entryists such as Douglas Carswell and go all out for social nationalism.

The 2015 General election finished UKIP as an electoral force. The absurdly unfair FPTP voting system was to blame: UKIP got nearly 4 million votes (12.6% of votes cast), yet finished with only 1 MP, “libertarian” political idiot Douglas Carswell, who had been a Conservative MP for the same seat for years. By way of contrast, the Green Party received somewhat over 1 million votes and also finished with 1 MP. More absurd yet, Plaid Cymru, Sinn Fein and the DUP all got only around 180,000 votes (0.6% of all votes) and got 3, 4 and 8 MPs respectively! Indeed, the SDLP got 0.3% of votes and finished with 3 MPs, while the UUP got 0.4% and finished with 2 MPs! So the SDLP got three times the number of MPs as UKIP, despite UKIP having been voted for by THIRTY-EIGHT times the number of voters!

The British voting system, and in general political system, is completely unfair, unjust, rigged and broken.

Having said the above, we are where we are. The System parties will not give up their unfair privileges, and that leaves UKIP, in colloquial language, totally screwed.

The 2017 General Election found UKIP floundering under yet another joke leader, Northern lecturer Paul Nuttall; in fact Nuttall, armed with his “university” Certificate of Education degree, only lectured for 2 years (aged 28-30), apparently the only non-political work he has ever done in his life: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Nuttall#Teaching_career

The 2017 General Election left UKIP on its knees: fewer than 600,000 votes (a twentieth of the number of UKIP votes in 2015), no MPs (the egregious Carswell having gone to make money in business, and his seat having reverted to Conservative). Again the electoral unfairness: the SNP got about 977,000 votes (in, admittedly, its more limited pool of seats) and ended up with 35 MPs. The Green Party polled again lower than UKIP but retained its 1 MP.

Various “alt-Right” (aka “alt-lite”) personalities have joined UKIP recently, including “Prison Planet” Watson, “Sargon of Akkad” Benjamin and “Count Dankula” Mark Meechan. I do not see any of these as social national in orientation. I instinctively distrust them all, and not one of those bothered to post a single tweet supporting me in my persecution by the Jew-Zionists; neither has any one of them posted anything in support of Alison Chabloz nor (as far as I know) those persecuted overseas by the Jewish lobby and/or ZOG, eg Ursula Haverbeck in Germany. They are wastes of space, as are other similar tweeters, bloggers and vloggers.

So what now for UKIP? We hear that Batten has formed a close alliance with the activist who uses the nom de guerre “Tommy Robinson”. The msm and the pervasive Jewish press and general lobby is concerned. Why? Tommy Robinson has always bent over backward to gain the favour of the Zionists, as has UKIP. Despite the new supposedly “far right” (i.e. social national) UKIP stance, an active member has apparently been expelled for tweeting or posting something adjudged “anti-Semitic”. UKIP is still running scared of the Jews, it seems: Farage also always kow-towed, and Douglas Carswell was actually a member of Conservative Friends of Israel (as well as being an expenses-blodger and a complete waste of space).

Until you face the Jewish-Zionist problem squarely and honestly, you cannot pretend to be a political solution for the UK or anywhere in Europe.

Naturally, Europe is facing a two-pronged invasion by Muslims and others, meaning actual migration (whether by speedboats across the Channel or by “legal” means) but also (and equally-important) “invasion by births” or “invasion by breeding”. UKIP is alive, at least more or less, to those dangers. It however is not alive to the fact that European culture and civilization is being eaten away by the Zionist element and/or by those (in Parliament, mass media, decadent cultural strata) under the sway of the Zionists.

We read that the UKIP membership has increased recently by 50%, thus giving UKIP maybe 30,000 members (it reached about 50,000 at peak). Electorally, however, and despite UKIP’s opinion poll support having recently surged from about 4% to around 7%, that is nowhere near enough to get MPs elected, bearing in mind UKIP’s evenly-spread support in England and Wales.

The reason that young and often social-nationalist young persons are joining UKIP is surely because UKIP is the only game in town on the nationalist side. It may only have received 600,000 votes in 2017, but that compares with 5,000 votes for the BNP (the only other broadly nationalist party to contest the 2017 General Election, leaving aside the Scottish and Welsh faux-nationalist SNP and Plaid Cymru). Where else can young activists go? The stupid “Britain First” is no longer a registered party and has imploded; “For Britain”, the anti-Islam one-trick-pony led by an Irish lesbian ex-secretary, is tiny, a joke in every way and destined to get nowhere; Generation Identity is of more interest but is not a political party as such.

The positives? At least the UKIP umbrella is keeping alive a corps of broadly nationalist persons and attracting others. UKIP itself will not get anywhere electorally or otherwise, but might yet prove to be a useful reservoir of support for any properly-led and organized party which might yet emerge.

Update, 5 April 2019

Foolish people are now saying that the result of the Newport by-election was a “very good result” for UKIP

In fact, UKIP came third, exactly where it was in the previous two general election contests at Newport West, and while its 8.6% of votes looks good vis-a-vis 2017 (2.5%), UKIP got 15.2% in 2015:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newport_West_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2010s

This was just a by-election protest vote and a pretty muted one.

Update, April 15 2019

There has now emerged to minor prominence the Brexit Party, a vehicle for Nigel Farage. Despite having no policies beyond the UK leaving (really leaving) the EU, Brexit Party is already running at anywhere up to 15% in opinion polling for the EU elections of 23 May 2019.

It is reported that up to 56% of those who voted Leave in the 2016 EU Referendum will vote either Brexit Party or UKIP in any General Election held this year. It is unclear whether Brexit Party would contest a general election, but if not, its votes would presumably go to UKIP. So about 50% of about 52% = about 26% of votes. That might not be enough to win any seats (certainly not, if split two ways), but it would cripple the Conservatives.
