Saturday quiz

Well, this week I return to winning form: 8/10, compared to the 6/10 scored by political journalist John Rentoul. I did not know the answers to questions 7 and 10.

Cameron-Levita in his usual bubble of total unreality. The idiot who brought us the war on Gaddafi (result— millions of Africans flooding Europe), fake “austerity” (result— misery for millions, as well as lower economic growth than anywhere in the then EU, USA etc), and other misconceived policy choices, most recently the increased support for the brutal and shambolic dictatorship of Zelensky in Kiev.

Ursula Haverbeck— arguably the bravest person in Europe.

She thinks that she is terribly clever, and making the old lady seem outdated, “bigoted”, “gammon” etc. Ha. Laugh now if you want to…

The pendulum may start to swing back now that pine martens are being reintroduced in several parts of the country; pine martens prey on grey squirrels but not (much) on red squirrels.

The Tories are unlikely to attract many Reform UK voters given…

– Only 36% would vote Tory if a Reform UK candidate wasn’t standing

– 61% are voting Reform despite thinking they won’t win in their seat

– 75% say the Tories and Labour are as bad as each other

– 74-76% dislike Rishi Sunak and the party.

Desperate. I had not heard of that MP. Looks a bit of a careerist; tried to become a Police and Crime Commissioner at one point (came third in the election): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbie_Moore_(MP).

Keighley has, with 2 exceptions, been a “bellwether” constituency since 1959, so is likely to fall to Labour this time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keighley_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s.

I cannot think that those attempts at confusing the voters (of High Peak and also Keighley) will work. After all, most people vote according to party label, so when the voter is faced with a ballot paper, the “X” is placed by the party more than the candidate’s name.

I have to admit that the Italian woman “brushes up well”, as they say…

Clacton

Had to look that one up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wakanda.

Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, Labour candidate, seems to come out of a black activist (African; Ghanaian) background in Nottingham: see https://heartofthenation.migrationmuseum.org/stories/sylvia-owusu-nepaul/.

About 25. Never had a non-political job, in fact has never had any job except a couple of p/t “internships”. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jovan-owusu-nepaul-3a95b17b/.

The candidate’s aunt has also been socio-politically active: see https://gala.gre.ac.uk/id/eprint/7138/1/Owusu-Kwarteng_Between_Two_Lives_2010.pdf.

This Labour candidate is a kind of less-prominent Femi Oluwole. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Femi_Oluwole

Labour has, since 2010, when the present constituency of Clacton was established, never scored higher than 25.4% of the votes cast there; that was in 2017. The lowest was 11.2%, at the by-election of that year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clacton_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2010s.

Labour has no chance at Clacton, a famously “left behind” and white British area. To choose an African “eternal student” as candidate is almost insulting to the voters there. Moreover, one whose social media posts make clear his hostility to the real people of the UK.

Despite Labour’s overall “popularity by default” in the nationwide campaign, I should not be surprised if its vote-share at Clacton were to dip below 10%.

The frightening thing is not that such a candidate is standing in Clacton, where Labour has little or no chance; it is that, across the country, similarly-hostile individuals are likely to be elected next month for Labour. God help the poor English people of these islands.

Not quite what I want to see: too many Con MPs. A couple of unexpected wrinkles too, such as Reform UK with 7 seats, and the SNP with 37, more than twice the number predicted elsewhere.

While the Con Party is toast pretty much whatever happens between now and 4 July, in some respects the General Election is quite open. A substantial minority are either undecided as to for which party they might vote, or are undecided as to whether to bother to vote at all.

That may mean a better than expected Con Party performance, a better than expected Labour (or even LibDem) performance but, most intriguingly, perhaps an even better than expected Reform UK vote, either as a targeted anti-Con vote, as a serious “I am dissatisfied” protest vote, or an angry “F.U., System parties!” vote.

The election is shaping up to be both interesting and important, perhaps even historic.

So will you, probably!

As people, from what I have seen online etc, ex-officer Mercer and his lady wife seem like a pleasant couple, but we are talking serious politics here.

Mercer has increased his majority steadily and considerably since first elected in 2015, but the general unpopularity of his party, his poor performance as a minister, and his personal moneygrasping would seem to leave him exposed. Also, Reform UK may well eat into his 2019 vote. Well, we shall soon know.

The sine qua non is European rule over not only Europe itself, and the Russophone parts of Asia, but also over parts of the rest of Asia, all of Africa, and over most other significant areas of the world.

Life in Britain is worse than it was 30 years ago“? That is not even a question…

Zelensky’s cabal is trying to provoke Russia into a massive “Israeli”-style retaliation, in the hope that that would bring NATO into the war as a full participant. In fact, were that to happen, it would be a short step to a Third World War.

All the same, I expect an intensification of Russian attacks on strategic infrastructure: electricity generation and supply, communications, railways, roads.

If, or rather when, the Labour Party forms a government in the UK, presumably later this year, it will be an “elected” (by default) dictatorship entirely ruled by Israel and the UK Jewish lobby.

Britain should do the same— shut down pro-Israel, pro-Jewish-lobby mass media outlets.

If he ever returns here, deport him— and all of his compatriots.

Sky News is of course part of the worldwide News Corp operation started by 100% pro-Israel ancient cuckold, Rupert Murdoch.

Well, in view of my recent free speech trial, I suppose that I should not add comment. So much for the “free world”…

They do that in Turkey as well. I remember that happening when I was living temporarily in the Fethiye area on the Turquoise Coast in 2001.

I see the “Reform UK” protest voters as expressing a rage against an anti-British, anti-white milieu in politics, the msm, the law, and much of academia. Of course, Reform UK itself is “controlled opposition”, there to channel that rage and control it, but the rage itself is real enough.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has prepared an initiative to transfer control of the US-led Military Assistance Contact Group to Ukraine (Ramstein) to the alliance, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

Financial Times (FT) interlocutors explained that in this way Stoltenberg wants to protect Ukraine from political changes if Donald Trump wins the American elections.

As Bloomberg notes, the leadership of NATO Supreme Commander Christopher Cavoli’s contact group will protect the structure from political changes that may occur after the November US presidential elections.

Stoltenberg will formally put forward the proposal at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels on April 3 and 4. According to Bloomberg, Jens Stoltenberg is also proposing to create an allied contribution fund of $100 billion, which will be allocated to Ukraine over five years. According to the agency, the NATO Secretary General is urging the allies to sign a document on the creation of a structure at the alliance summit.

NATO: Kyiv’s requests for weapons and ammunition exceed the alliance’s capabilities Kyiv’s demands for weapons and ammunition, as well as the volume of military products used in Ukraine, exceed NATO’s capabilities.

This was stated by the head of the alliance’s military committee, Rob Bauer , during the annual conference of the NATO Chiefs of General Staff in Norway. “NATO countries that decide to supply weapons and ammunition to Kiev need to think about the risks associated with such a decision for their security and the security of the alliance,” he warned.

Bauer has previously complained about lagging defense production capacity, slowing deliveries and continuing price increases, and has expressed the view that increasing allied defense spending in such a situation may not actually improve the security situation.”

“General [Milley]: Even if the Ukrainian counter-offensive is successful – the Russians will not be expelled.

THE FIRST GENERAL OF AMERICA ADMITTED: THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE “LONG-TERM, DIFFICULT AND BLOODY” FOR KIEV.

The UKRAINIAN counter-offensive will not completely expel Russia from the conquered territories, nor will it completely return them to Kiev’s control, said General Mark Milley, the chief of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.”

The counter-offensive, although significant, has limited operational and tactical objectives. Even if these goals are fully achieved, they will not be enough to drive the Russians out completely,” [Milley] reasoned.

He avoided saying how long it would take Kyiv to achieve “its goals,” but admitted it would be “a fairly long period.” He also added that the Ukrainian counter-offensive will be “long-lasting, difficult and bloody“.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the “counter-offensive” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “not a slip, but a fiasco.”

The new UK Defense Minister wants to transplant British pilots who trained Chinese colleagues The new British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said that former British army personnel who train colleagues from rival countries will be brought to justice. It was previously revealed that a number of former RAF military pilots were training Chinese PLA pilots for a generous payment of around £250,000.

Not sure what “transplant” means here but, leaving that aside, the Jew Shapps is talking nonsense (as usual).

Most of those ex-RAF pilots (most of whom were sacked by reason of spending cuts implemented by the “Conservative” governments of 2010-present) were selling their skills entirely lawfully at the time; I believe that the law was only recently changed. Retrospective laws are disapproved of in English law and tradition as unjust.

Over the past decade or so, the UK has been very badly served by its Secretaries of State for Defence: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secretary_of_State_for_Defence#Secretaries_of_State_for_Defence_(1964%E2%80%93present). Several have been just buffoons. For example, Gavin Williamson: see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/05/02/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-gavin-williamson-story/.

The Greek people should have voted for Golden Dawn while they still had the chance…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Dawn_(Greece).

Good point. I have blogged about this in recent months. The population of Ukraine (including Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions etc) was about 43 million in 2021. However, in 1992, the population (including Crimea and the rest) was far higher, about 52 million. By 2014, the population had already decreased to about 45 million.

Ukraine’s population, for the past 30 years, has not been breeding fast enough to replace losses. That trend has now accelerated.

Possibly as much as a quarter of the 2021 Ukraine population has relocated beyond Ukraine’s borders.

The Russian or Russian-occupied areas (Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk etc) contain several million people. Crimea has 2-3 million.

In other words, the parts of Ukraine currently under the control of the Kiev regime now have somewhere in the region of 20-25 million inhabitants.

Bearing in mind that the Kiev-regime army has lost at least 500,000 young or young-ish men since last year, and that the ~4-5 million Ukrainians now living overseas are disproportionately female, the future of Ukraine as a state looks precarious at best.

At least one of the pair mentioned is a Jew. He supports the migration-invasion of Europe by blacks and browns. Is that surprising to the above tweeter?

Diary Blog, 3 July 2023— riots in France, climate change propaganda, and banks censoring and repressing their customers

Morning music

From the newspapers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12256949/Banks-warned-protect-free-speech-Jeremy-Hunt-said-deeply-concerned.html

Banks are to be warned by ministers that they must protect free speech as increasing numbers of customers are having their accounts closed for holding allegedly controversial views.

The Chancellor Jeremy Hunt is reportedly ‘deeply concerned’ that lenders are blacklisting customers they are deemed to hold contrary political beliefs and social values.

The controversy flared up last week after Nigel Farage revealed his long-standing account had been closed by his bank, while a vicar was dropped by another lender for questioning why their branches were displaying Pride flags.

[Daily Mail]

I have blogged about this previously. Farage is, as the report notes, not alone. Repression on freedom of expression by banks (bank staff) has been a fact for a few years now. Laura Towler, Sam Melia, and Mark Collett, all of Patriotic Alternative, had their personal bank accounts closed. Straight political bias.

The only thing that will stop the trend to censorship and repression is if bank directors, managers etc are held accountable directly. The same goes for MPs, msm talking heads etc.

Incidentally, maybe 99% of the repression of freedom of expression in the UK comes from the malicious and manipulative Jew-Zionist element; certainly 90%+. See, for example, my own experiences, published at the top of this blog post. “They” are almost always the troublemakers, if you investigate the matter.

https://inews.co.uk/news/world/sicilian-farmer-oranges-bananas-mangoes-italy-tropical-2417532.

Rosolino Palazzolo, a 44-year-old Sicilian farmer, has just finished picking the first pitanga (Surinam cherry) and acerola (Barbados cherry) on his farm in a tiny village called Terrasini, close to Palermo. He looks at the bright cherries in his hand, smiling proudly.

These fruits would normally be found growing along the equator but, in the past few years, climate change and year-round warm temperatures have led to a produce revolution in Italy’s deep south.

Italy is turning into a tropical country. That’s why I also grow papayas, mangoes, passion fruit, baby bananas dubbed ‘bananito’, black sapote [a soft, orange-fleshed fruit], annona [custard apple] and even coffee and chocolate plants,” Mr Palazzolo [says].

Tropical fruit is the future of Italy’s agriculture; it will save the country from the negative effects of rising temperatures and crazy, wild rainfalls.”

The farmer still grows traditional fruits such as pears, citrus fruits and peaches, and vegetables such as tomatoes and courgettes, but in smaller quantities due to the tropical-like climate that has taken hold in Italy, particularly in the south.”

Interesting. Adaptation to a warmer climate.

The only way to stop the epidemic of drug abuse in the West is to eliminate the users. Poppy cultivation cannot simply be banned everywhere, because opium derivatives are used for essential products such as morphine. India and Australia (Tasmania) are among the larger producers of legally-farmed opium poppies. Afghanistan accounts for about 80% of the illegal trade.

Eliminate all rioters in the field.

Typically misleading Sky News. In fact, it was not “the hottest June ever in UK” (as seen in that tweet) but the hottest June since records began, which was only in 1884. As the report does say, previous hot-June records were reached in both 1940 and 1976. Even the headline, “hottest June on record“, though technically correct, is misleading, because many will assume that records go back to maybe 1700 or so, which is not the case on a reliable or consistent basis.

In historical terms, 139 years (1884-2023) is almost nothing.

We know that there were relatively warm periods previously in recorded European history, notably in the “Mediaeval Warm Period”, often estimated as having happened from about 950 AD to about 1250 AD: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_Warm_Period.

Before that, there had been a “Roman Warm Period” running from about 250 BC to about 400 AD: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Warm_Period.

There was no measurement of temperature then, but warmer climatic conditions can be inferred from forms of agriculture known to have been current, and from animal and plant remains, tree rings etc.

There are various theories as to why those historical periods were warmer than other times before and after, but one thing is for sure— it had little or nothing to do with “carbon emissions”. These were societies without very large populations (the Roman Empire at height may have had 60 million inhabitants), without the internal combustion engine, without industry except on a very small scale, and without the widespread use of coal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal#History.

Those two warm periods hosted higher levels of civilization and culture than the cooler periods on either side of each. Be careful what you wish for.

Again the technically-correct but very misleading “on record” assertion.

I agree with that tweeter about the sheer audacity, as I think I would term it, of the online fraud and “grifter” “Jack Monroe”.

That sheer gall is what really sets her apart from the numerous other online “grifters” around— her sheer criminal audacity, as well as her relentless use of about half a dozen tactics: pretending to be an “activist” for “the poor”; various mental and physical problems (useful to be able to blame critics for making them worse, though most if not all of them are non-existent); pretending to be short of money and/or living in poverty (rather than a house, possibly with a sea view, in a rather expensive Essex suburb); attaching herself to this or that group as expedient— LGBTQXYZ, disabled, “poor”, struggling single mother (despite her affluent family living in the same area), “socialist” (despite her false “feed a family for £20 a week” claims, “cosmopolitan” (despite rarely having been outside Essex), and displaying little or no obvious knowledge or education), etc.

Then there are the fake biographical details, such as having taken a leading role after or even during the Grenfell fire incident.

What is truly amazing is how many people, even some journalists, still believe all of her rubbish.

I still fail to understand why a black woman in Bristol is (I think) still facing Crown Court trial for allegedly having crowdfunded for legal costs to make a civil claim that (allegedly or apparently) never happened, and then having (allegedly) kept the monies raised for her personal use, but “Jack Monroe” raised monies similarly, supposedly to sue Lee Anderson MP, then did not even send preliminary formal complaint to Lee Anderson, and quite plainly ripped-off the said monies for her own uses, yet (so far) is not charged with anything. Why not?

Well, wonders will never cease. I agree with all of that.
