You have to wonder if we had cherished and protected our wildlife what a bond of friendship and a force of nature we could have been https://t.co/l53Izq97sG
We are going to end up with food imported which is not allowed now because of animal welfare and human health issues.. mark my words. Listen to the language softening us up. Liam Fox just defending chlorine washed chickens. Chlorine used because of awful conditions they reared in
Food can be produced more cheaply outside the EU in countries with poorer animal welfare. If we cave in to US demands to stop labelling the country of origin, our farmers will have to drop their own standards to compete with imports. So even UK chicken could end up chlorinated.
You so t know. US also pressing to remove “ known source” labelling. Also it will go into schools, hospitals, processed foods.. it’s an awful step backwards. https://t.co/NfPm9K7JoM
In past decades, people would probably have been shouting, writing etc about how a government behaving like this should be shot etc, but today, people are scared of the police arriving at their door at the slightest provocation (e.g. an angry or even simply dissenting tweet, or Facebook post, or remark made in public or even in private).
The non-European real terrorists have over the years symbiotically worked with the Zionists and others who wish to repress our freedom of expression; new repressive laws are in place, the police and courts are becoming hysterical…the net result is that we can have a quasi-tyrannical and completely dishonest dystopian government such as that run by Boris-idiot and his lunatic-in-chief, Cummings, and yet citizens are actually afraid even to say anything really “edgy” about what should be done about it. All one sees are bleats on Twitter, mostly as weak as water.
As to the food story, It may even be that there is an occultic high-Masonic aspect to this: the wealthy able to eat properly, be healthier, as a class or group also ruling over the “pleb” masses eating junk food, pop tarts, pot noodles, fried chicken and McD hamburgers etc. Already, people in the wealthier parts of the UK live about 10 years longer and also longer in good health than those in depressed parts of the North of England. The same is true of the USA.
Alison Chabloz
The persecuted singer-songwriter can be heard on Internet “radio”, European Freedom, this evening (4 February 2020) at 1900 hrs:
Show notes for tonight's (Tue) stream at 7 pm UK with @nastymutant and Alison Chabloz EF #11: Censors, Oligarchs and Plutocrats with Alison Chablozhttps://t.co/KbrvYxi79q
I suppose that those who are now being expelled from the Labour Party at the behest of the Jewish lobby feel badly about it, but they are really being done a favour. Corbyn had his points, but was terribly weak in fighting back against the Israel/Zionist/Jewish lobby. He never did take the fight to them, and even persisted in paying lip-service to the absurd “holocaust” farrago. McDonnell was even worse. Now, all but about 4 or 5 Labour MPs have signed up to the so-called “International Definition” of so-called “Antisemitism” (in fact adopted so far by fewer than 20 states out of 200).
Labour is a waste of space now. A waste of time too. Why would any real British activist in any case support a party which is now really just for the blacks and browns? A party which supports mass immigration too. We have seen that many former Labour voters rejected Labour in the recent 2019 General Election. Those voters mostly did not vote Conservative; they just did not vote Labour.
The USA, “land of freedom”…
“Cancer patient with four weeks to live is jailed for 10 months for stealing food” [Daily Mirror]
I was 18 when that case became front-page news in late 1974. Over the years, I have read a little about it. For many years, I was convinced that Lucan was alive, he having been covertly relocated out of the UK by his wealthy and powerful friends. My rationale for that view was partly based on Lucan’s psychology: a fatalist, yet a gambler. For someone like that, there is always another spin of the wheel.
Later, my initial view was modified by the consideration that the worldwide hunt and continuing publicity must surely uncover the fugitive, if there was a fugitive. Now? I do not know what to think.
Ironically, Lucan’s financial problems might, today, have been less severe or pressing, in that he would today (perhaps; not all peers get money) have been entitled to claim £310 daily taxfree merely by “clocking in” at the House of Lords for 20 minutes per day, thus getting about £6,000+ per month.
Former MP Rory Stewart, now standing as Independent candidate for Mayor of London (the bookmakers have him as 2nd favourite), has climbed on the “holocaust” bandwagon and seems to be boosted by the malicious Jew-Zionist “charity”, the “Campaign Against Antisemitism”:
— Campaign Against Antisemitism (@antisemitism) January 28, 2020
I suppose that most people are unaware that Stewart is part-Jew (one-quarter), a fact which I discovered (via an alert reader of my blog) while researching updates for my lengthy blog post about him, when he was a potential Conservative Party leader (he later resigned both as MP and from the Conservative Party). My piece about Stewart is linked here, below:
Stewart’s wife is also part-Jewish, and their children are being brought up in that cultural milieu.
Stewart says that “the holocaust” “makes us see how quickly political rhetoric and posturing can become murder“. Fine words from someone who not only supported the NWO invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan but who also, as MP (2010-2019), voted for all of the cruel and callous “welfare” “reform” measures drafted (and very ineptly too) by Iain Dunce Duncan Smith and his cronies, resulting in the deaths of literally tens of thousands of (mostly) BRITISH people.
Stewart has many talents, and his self-promotion, and self-inflation of his deeds, does not take away from those deeds or talents, but he was wrong for the position of Prime Minister (in potentio), and is probably wrong for the position of Mayor of London.
What did Stewart vote for? Oh, this sort of thing, in effect: “a disabled man with a long history of mental illness starved to death just months after welfare officials stopped his out-of-work and housing benefits.” [The Guardian]
Wuhan
At last, the msm is catching up, asking why it is that Americans, French, Japanese, Australians are being evacuated, sending dedicated hospital planes etc for that purpose, while the British official and political response has been the traditional and useless one of “tell people to be careful, and then make a statement in the House of Commons”.
Our whole system is in danger of irrelevance and uselessness: from the Government, through the Foreign Office, the House of Commons, the House of Lords, the police, the “welfare” (social security) system etc.
Alastair Stewart responded to a black man on Twitter with a passage about "an angry ape" from Shakespeare's Measure for Measure.
But it also seems worth pointing out that he previously used this passage to respond to at least one other tweeter who was not identifiably black… pic.twitter.com/MZgyyPlJuC
Many on Twitter etc are defending Alastair Stewart, saying nice things about him etc, but few are pointing out that this is exactly what happens when there grows up a culture of political correctness, a culture of denunciation, a culture of “no-platforming” (i.e. suppression of freedom of expression on political, social or historical topics) etc. Few in the msm come out fighting for free speech.
Few attack the whole milieu of political correctness in which the msm now exists. Even fewer identify the principal driver of this unfreedom— the Jew-Zionist element in society, which infests both the mainstream media and, now, social media (particularly Twitter). In fact, there is a well-organized Zionist “claque” or mob of “them” on Twitter. They managed to get me expelled from Twitter in 2018 (after having pushed for it and conspired about it for about 7 years). They are the same Jews (and virtually all are Jews) that persecute satirical singer-songwriter Alison Chabloz, and the same ones that eventually had Jeremy “Jez” Turner imprisoned for mentioning Jews unflatteringly in a speech made near the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
I notice that very few are looking beyond the bare facts of the Alastair Stewart sacking to what underpins it and many less-publicized events like it.
Once you go down the road of unfreedom, you move the game to the next level…
Nigel Farage documentary
Watched a Channel 4 fly-on-wall documentary filmed during the 2019 General Election. I think that some people laughed or smirked when I blogged at that time that Nigel Farage, though a good public speaker, is not a good politician. Not long after that, Farage stabbed his candidates and his rank and file members in the back by deciding to stand down all candidates in Conservative Party-held seats, even those held (as most were) by Remain-favouring Conservatives. A monumental error.
Farage’s inexplicable —on the face of it— decision killed his party right there and then, as I blogged at the time. It showed up Brexit Party as a here today, gone tomorrow pop-up. It said to Northern voters “Brexit Party are Con stooges”. It gifted Boris-idiot and his resident lunatic, Cummings, the election. Conservative vote share scarcely increased over what it had been in 2017; Labour’s fell dramatically. A third of eligible voters did not vote.
Had Brexit Party continued campaigning in all seats (originally entered for) to polling day across the country, it might not have won a single seat, but Farage would, in honourable defeat, have retained his reputation, Brexit Party might have surged later, and most important of all, the Conservative Party would probably have failed to win a majority. Those few thousand Brexit Party votes in each constituency would have made all the difference. Also, the Brexit the UK got would eventually have been a real one, not this fake one being loaded up at present.
“The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves, no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”
I wanted to blog about the admittedly done to death case of “Kim” Philby and others, but have been distracted. I shall do that article later…or tomorrow, or whenever…inshallah (Arab scheduling).
I was just having a late brunch— in case anyone is interested, which I doubt, scrambled eggs (Burford Browns) with smoked salmon and dill; pitta toast. While doing that, I watched one of those police reality shows: Police Body Cam.
What had me initially shaking my head was the racial make-up of the perpetrators. Almost all were black. There were a couple of silly white ones too, one drunk in the street, and one “failure to appear” (at court), who was arrested pursuant to a bench warrant.
The show was filmed in Nottingham.
I suppose that there is an academic, somewhere, who would be able to say why Nottingham has so many blacks. According to Wikipedia, nearly a fifth of the Nottingham metro-area population is either black (West Indian and African) or self-describing mixed-race: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nottingham#Demographics
It may be a fruitless speculation, but one does wonder why that is so. After all, Nottingham until recently had no nearby international airport, and it is also far from any seaport. There was a lace and a more general textile industry in Nottingham, but that went into steep decline, apparently, after the Second World War. The immigrants seem not to have washed up in Nottingham to work, as such.
It seems that there were race riots in 1958, in the St. Ann’s district, where the first immigrants were concentrated. Think about that: the local white English did not want the blacks to be there in 1958, they presumably having arrived in recently-preceding months or years. By 2020, a fifth of the whole population, not only in that district, but in the entire metro-area (a population now of nearly a million), is black or mixed-race! 200,000! Well, there it is. I have never visited Nottingham, and probably never will.
The other “shocking but not surprising” aspect to that TV show was what happened to the criminals shown. Only one, the compliant little white man arrested pursuant to a warrant, was actually imprisoned (for a number of offences). 20 months, so out in 10. The others, including one black shown assaulting police, spitting at them, resisting arrest, criminal damage etc, all got “community orders”, small compensation orders, small “community service” (unpaid slave labour) sentences etc.
I am far from a “hang and flog” enthusiast. I favour pre-trial diversion, warnings, cautions, non-custodial sentences generally, and (also in general) short rather than long custodial sentences where custody is unavoidable, but it is clear that in many areas leniency has become laxity.
As I watched that TV show, I could not but think of those I have met myself and who have been sentenced to suspended or even immediate sentences of imprisonment for doing nothing but express a socio-political viewpoint. In the case of Alison Chabloz, singing satirical songs about Jewish behaviour and the absurdly inflated “holocaust” farrago and its many proven hoaxes; in the case of Jez Turner (Jeremy Bedford-Turner), sentenced to a whole year in prison (of which he actually served half, and was put under severe restriction for the “free” “second half”, by the way) merely for saying that the Jews should be expelled from the UK as they were two or three times in the historical past.
Many may be surprised to read that I have eaten a bagel from there myself. I was with friends in a car, circa 1985, and they decided to stop and get some. Notwithstanding the maxim “Nicht kaufen bei Juden”, I plead guilty to having consumed one. I do not remember what kind, but probably poppy-seed with smoked salmon. I prefer smoked salmon au natur, without cream cheese, but I know that Jews often mix the two (the Jews do not mix meat and dairy products, but fish is OK according to their rules of “Kashrut” because it is considered “parev”, i.e. neutral, neither dairy nor meat). Apropos of nothing much, Jews, at least in the USA, call smoked salmon “lox”, a Yiddish corruption of the German lachs (salmon). It is one of the main fillings for bagels.
That’s my Rick Stein/Jamie Oliver slot finished…
Every individual must draw his or her own line as to “nicht kaufen bei Juden”. I am certainly not going to stop listening to Ashkenazy’s interpretations of Rachmaninov, for example.
What surprised me (I am no sort of businessman) is that the profits from such a small shop have generated profits in the millions. As I say, I am no businessman. I notice from the Wikipedia piece, though, that that shop sells 7,000 bagels per day! Incredible.
African trainee-solicitor rapist left his ID, legal papers etc at the scene of his crime. Ha ha! More seriously, why is this sort of trash even in the UK? And why was he employed at a so-called “top legal firm” when there are English law students looking for places? Does the law firm want to be seen to be “right on” or even (shudders) “woke”? For one thing, this “lawyer” seems to have been as thick as two short planks.
Interesting comment
I generally tend to disagree with commentator Matthew d’Ancona, but this chimes with my own view (except for the Remain aspect):
Abuse of young English girls by Pakistanis in Rotherham
Chief Inspector of Police, Rotherham: “The force was aware abuse had been taking place for some 30 years, adding: “With it being Asians, we can’t afford for this to be coming out.”
“An officer allegedly told a missing child’s father the town “would erupt” if people knew Asian men were routinely having sex with under-age white girls, it has been claimed.” [Daily Mirror]
If only those young girls had been taught about racial and ethnic boundaries, in the manner of the BDM (Bund Deutscher Maedel) of the 1930s. They would never have thought it possible to indulge in sexual activity with non-Europeans.
Nick Griffin was actually prosecuted for “incitement to racial hatred” (but acquitted by a British jury) after he and the BNP raised these issues, gaining huge public support. The prosecution was purely politically (or socio-politically…) motivated. The CPS prosecutors in the North of England are themselves often of Pakistani or other non-white origin. Nick Griffin has been vindicated.
On a side note, I see that, if I am not mistaken, the tweeter who used to go by the name “Mycroft” has made the front page of the Daily Mail (sub nom “@bigbadburrow”)! His enemies will be seething!
Richard Burgon
Good to see that at least one prominent Labour Party MP has refused to sign the list of demands laid upon Labour (with supreme gall) by the organized Jews. Burgon may not be very interesting ideologically, but he at least has principle.
A musical end to the day
Prokofiev. I am probably more likely to listen to Shostakovitch than Prokofiev, but the one does not preclude the other. Prokofiev was one of the real greats of the 20thC. I was slightly acquainted with the composer’s son, Oleg; his son, also Sergei, but who spelled his surname differently in the West in order to avoid confusion, was a very important, though publicly obscure, writer on historical, spiritual, Anthroposophical matters.
I suddenly feel optimistic about a social-national upsurge in the UK. The economy looks like it might tank before long. The Labour Party has all but run out of steam, the Conservative Party is dying on its feet despite its recent election win; its new seats are not rooted. In the right circumstances, a social national movement might yet triumph, sweeping all before it.
I was sorry to hear that Flybe may shut down, though it seems that the government is trying to save it without supplying it with direct subsidy. I used to use Flybe sometimes, about 15 years ago when I was professionally based in Exeter (and living on the Cornwall-Devon border). It was useful for long cross-country journeys, such as Exeter-Norwich (no longer offered), Exeter-Newcastle etc. I also used their flights between Brest (Finistere) and the UK occasionally. I like small airports anyway. I tried the Newquay-Gatwick service once, which was also good, but in my case I was heading into London, so that meant a jam-packed train (Gatwick Express) as well, which took the gloss off the experience. Anyway, good luck Flybe…
So once again the “Special Relationship” proves to be worthless. It’s a one-way street. The UK has often extradited its own citizens to the USA because the USA has demanded that, yet when it comes to the UK wanting a US citizen, no way, Jose! Let’s get out of that one-way and exploitative treaty.
Robert Jenrick
I always thought that Robert Jenrick was a horrible little pissant, even when he was first trying to get elected in 2014. My instinct is rarely wrong. Once installed, in 2019, as Secretary of State for Housing, Local Government and Communities, he “demanded” that local authorities adopt the so-called “international definition” of “anti-Semitism” (in fact adopted by only about 30 out of nearly 200 states).
“In July 2019, he said “I want tackling antisemitism and ensuring that the Jewish community feels protected and respected to be one of my priorities as secretary of state”… In September 2019, he said “I will use my position as Secretary of State to write to all universities and local authorities to insist that they adopt the IHRAdefinition at the earliest opportunity…and use it when considering matters such as disciplinary procedures. Failure to act in this regard is unacceptable.” [Wikipedia].
“Jenrick is a member of the Parliamentary Conservative Friends of Israel [CFI] group.”
“Jenrick has said his connection to the Jewish community “forms a very important and integral part of my life.“” [Wikipedia]
I was until recently unaware that Jenrick’s wife is a Jewish corporate lawyer who was born in Israel. Their children are being brought up as Jews. Jenrick and his wife even celebrate Jewish holidays! In short, he is a complete doormat for “the lobby”.
Labour and the Jewish lobby
“They” are still pushing for charges to be made in relation to half a dozen now-expelled Labour Party members arrested in early/mid-2019. LBC’s (((political editor))) tweets:
4). Man in his 40s arrested May 1. Section 19 Public Order Act. Warrant executed in Newham, London.
5). Man in his 60s interviewed under caution on July 9.
All five released pending investigation. The CPS have had all the files since September 27.
There is a genuine atmosphere of the Stalinist purges about this, though being arrested and bailed in the UK is obviously not the same, in absolute terms, as arrested and taken to the Lubyanka or the Butyrka in 1930s Moscow. All the same, just look at that tweet (and the others in the same thread):
“Woman in her 70s arrested on March 21. Again, Section 19 Public Order Act, following warrant executed in Wandsworth, south-west London”. A woman “in her 70s“! Arrested for allegedly saying this or that about Jews!
The fact is that where this lobby exists in sufficient numbers, non-Jews have and can have no freedom. Look at the Alison Chabloz case. There is more to come out about that now, but she was persecuted and then prosecuted (initially privately, by the so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism”, a malicious little cabal which has wormed its way into various police and political areas).
What did Alison Chabloz do? Sang some humorous songs, and if the Jews or others say that her songs are not funny (though I disagree), then what? Haul her before The Court of Unfunny Songs?
The freedoms that we used to take for granted (until the advent of Tony Blair but made even less free under David Cameron-Levita and Theresa May) are eroding fast. Repressive and badly-drafted laws such as Communications Act 2002, s.127 allow well-organized and (((funded))) lobby groups such as “Campaign Against Antisemitism” to manipulate tame police and sometimes CPS into interrogating (and even arresting, charging and prosecuting) anyone who criticizes Jewish behaviour or the farrago of (mostly) nonsense that is the “holocaust” narrative.
Labour leadership contest
I am resigning from the Labour Party in protest at all the leadership candidates accepting the @BoardofDeputies ten demands
I am not giving up the political struggle. I will find other avenues
I am Jewish and I do not want to be in a party which submits to these demands
Well, there it is. All five candidates have agreed that Labour must henceforth be under the thumb (or the heel) of the organized Jew-Zionist lobby. We can now bid goodbye to Labour except as (((controlled))) opposition to the (((occupied))) “Conservative” Party.
The best thing would be for Labour to be reduced to a useless powerless rump, a niche party for the blacks, browns, public service staff etc. A new party can emerge for those who agree with Jack London (Jack London, not Tom London): “I am a socialist, but a white man first.”
Corbyn at least represented something understandable. These others? Useless and craven.
Alison Chabloz
After her appearance in court on her appeal last Friday, which was adjourned until 25 June 2020, persecuted satirical singer-songwriter Alison Chabloz must feel that the end is now in sight. Depending on what Crown disclosure is made, it is possible that her appeal will not be opposed. Later? Her persecutors may ultimately find themselves in trouble.
Good grief! Harry really has, in the American vernacular, become a total cuck! I predicted quite a while ago that he was in danger of becoming that stock figure of American sitcom-land, the husband driven to distraction by the incessant demands of his petulant young wife. Royal “Married with Children“, if you like. Except that, in this case, the wife is 4 years older than her husband, is nearly 40, and was previously married to a Jew businessman in Southern California.
Yesterday’s (10 January 2020) hearing at Derby Crown Court was presided over by HH Judge Egbuna, who remarked that it was “vital” to ascertain whether the decision of the National Probation Service to press for prosecution of Alison Chabloz on the ground of breach of condition had been taken “professionally” or whether the decision had been a result of “political motivation”.
The judge was informed by Prosecution Counsel that the decision to proceed with a prosecution (and so trial for breach) was not taken or initiated by Alison Chabloz’s probation officer, as would be the normal situation; neither was that decision taken by his supervisor. It was the decision of someone above those levels.
Sounds as though the judge is seriously worried by possible interference in the judicial and quasi-judicial processes by (((someone))) or (((some organization)))…
The judge declared that Alison’s trial could not proceed until it had been established on what basis or bases the decision to prosecute had been taken, and by whom. The matter has now been adjourned until 25 June 2020.
That, however was not the end of (((their))) manipulations for the day. Alison Chabloz was arrested at court and taken to Derby Police Station, where she was “interviewed” (interrogated) by detectives about a complaint made by ((( ))). At length, late in the evening, she was given police bail until a date in mid-February, but only on the condition that she not post on her blog. That disgraceful “police-state” prohibition will, I apprehend, be challenged in court before very long.
Well, there we have it. A contrived “complaint” with the sole (main) aim of preventing Alison Chabloz from exercizing her right to free speech (which right “they” have almost destroyed in the UK, aided by “me too” rabbits on Twitter and elsewhere). What other objective? Well, I suppose that it also inconvenienced Alison Chabloz, and their little minds love to do things like that, as witness the false and malicious complaint the same “people” made about me three years ago:
It is about time that the police and CPS woke up to the fact that they are being manipulated and used by the “Campaign Against Antisemitism” fake charity.
England has now become a country in which a police desk sergeant in deepest darkest Derbyshire can decide (was it really his decision?) not to allow a British citizen the right to post on the Internet! “They” have destroyed our freedom for their own tribal ends.
Note
I have had comments made on my blog to the effect that the Derby Crown Court imposed the Internet prohibition, not the police, but as yet I do not have confirmation of that. [please see the Updates, below]
France
While we are talking about “them”, we should take a brief look at France. Famously, ex-Rothschild’s gopher Emmanuel Macron set up “his own” (oh, yes, his own, I think not!) pop-up “party”, called it En Marche! and became President of France, having beaten Marine le Pen, who (unlike Macron) was not backed by System political drones all over Europe (Macron was invited to meet both Theresa May and Frau Merkel before he had even been elected!).
Well, the “Gilets Jaunes” protests and similar dissensions are still continuing, and are being met with typical ZOG repression:
French ppl are not just sitting down and waiting for it to happen. You might think it's useless, but it isn't. The anger is growing, more and more ppl are joining in. This is not gonna stop before either the ppl, or the government back down.. And the ppl won't. https://t.co/zQzHoVHjE0
French police drag an anti-government protester across the ground, then appear to punch him repeatedly. For some reason the media are almost completely ignoring the numerous human rights abuses of the Macron government. https://t.co/Ug09uc5tVY
“For some reason”? Just as, “for some reason” the UK ZOG regime ignores the human rights abuses of the Zionist lobby (see the Alison Chabloz case above)…
Tintagel
I was interested to see this, about the main hotel at Tintagel, in North Cornwall:
It seems to be hard to find a name for it that is not vulgar. At one time it was called the King Arthur’s Castle Hotel, I think, and is now the Camelot Castle Hotel.
I stayed there once myself, but before (((those))) who “monitor” my blog get excited, I was not very engaged politically at the time (late 2001) and never met the owner, one Mappin, who inherited a large chunk of the Mappin & Webb jewellery business https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mappin_%26_Webb
I remember my stay there well. It was about a week or so before Christmas. Wet, windy, stormy in fact. My wife and I were looking around possible homes in the South West (we found one in the end, at least for a couple of years). Needing a place to stay overnight, I chose this castle hotel, which is right on the cliff at Tintagel.
I understand that the hotel has since been refurbished. At that time, though, it had an impressive if slightly gloomy ambience. In fact it was not much like a hotel at all. For one thing, despite the size of the place, my wife and I were the only guests. Also, the staff on duty that evening seemed to consist of a middle-aged couple: a pleasant but rather eccentric Austrian (I think) woman and her husband, I think English, bearded, rather lacking in joie de vivre and whose realm seemed to be the cavernous and dimly-lit bar, where he was deep in conversation with (I presumed) a friend.
We were shown several rooms, and ended up in what was, I think, the most expensive (£200 a night B&B, in 2001…well overpriced for what was offered). The room was very large, very cold (there was an almost antique double-bar fire set into the wall) and contained a four-poster bed. We were told that Elgar had stayed for some time in that room. I later discovered that he had composed much of his Second Symphony there:
I believe that numerous other artistic and other luminaries have stayed in that hotel in the past; Arnold Bax and Yeats among them.
The hotel was so shut down when I visited that it was unable to offer its guests (us) even a snack. We were advised that the inns in Tintagel village, which starts near where the hotel driveway ends, were good. We found simple pleasant Cornish fare at such an inn and then returned to the castle for a couple of drinks in the Great Hall (and it really deserves its title), alone apart from the bearded retainer who brought the drinks. A memorable experience, to sit there before a huge open fire reminiscent of an Errol Flynn film, the storm blowing outside.
In the morning, breakfast was served by an aged waitress, her tiny grand-daughter (in fact probably great-grand-daughter), aged about 3 or 4 (I am no good at guessing children’s ages) holding on to the woman’s skirts as our food and coffee were served to us (no point in having a buffet when only two people are breakfasting, of course). The huge breakfast gallery (in which we were still the only guests) overlooked the tempestuous sea breaking on the jagged rocks below. Shades of Rebecca…
Ha ha! I should send that to Alison Chabloz’s solicitor and Counsel! They could probably do with a good laugh! It is, of course, nonsense.
More detail from yesterday’s proceedings and activities:
Bail set by the the judge at Crown Court was unconditional;
The purported Internet/blog restriction was laid down by a Derbyshire police detective-sergeant and relates to the police bail granted in the evening vis-a-vis the latest malicious complaint made by ((( ))), not to the Crown Court proceedings;
Another interesting remark was, it seems, made by Prosecution Counsel to the judge at the Crown Court hearing, to the effect that, after he, Counsel for the Prosecution, sees whatever disclosure is made by the police and CPS, he himself might be minded to concede that there were no proper grounds for the prosecution.
If the above account is accurate, I am beginning to think that Alison Chabloz is on the home stretch here…
Update, 19 August 2020
As I predicted in the above update (of same date as, but later in time than, the original blog), the CPS decided in the end not to oppose Alison Chabloz’s appeal in the Crown Court. The CPS weaselled about how they still believed that her prosecution for breach was correct, but that in all the circumstances, the Crown would concede. They even brought in “Coronavirus”, the thick planks!
In reality, there is no way that the CPS wanted to admit that David Gauke (the then Justice Secretary), the CPS, and the privatiized probation monkeys (not to mention the police, including the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, some thick Sikh) had been got at by the Jewish lobby. Result? Complete victory for Alison Chabloz. She and her Counsel did not even have to appear at Derby Crown Court; the matter was simply taken out of the list. Ha.
The first news of today is that persecuted singer-songwriter Alison Chabloz was at Derby Crown Court for the hearing of her appeal against a notional 8 week sentence imposed by Chesterfield Mags several months ago in respect of alleged breach of condition of her original suspended imprisonment sentence handed down by Westminster Mags in June 2018.
In reality, because only half of (most) sentences are actually served in prison, that sentence was 28 days minus days in court etc, meaning that the sentence now being appealed amounted to about 23 days, of which she has in fact served 3, maybe 4 days (inc. day of her actual release on bail pending appeal). Failure of the appeal might mean that Alison has to sit another ~19 days in prison, though the Crown Court has the power to substitute a harsher or more lenient penalty.
According to early reports, as yet unconfirmed, Alison Chabloz is now released on unconditional bail and her matter adjourned until 21 February 2020.
[however, see updates below]
Though I do not wish to contravene the contempt of court laws, this is an appeal before a single judge (though there may be sitting with him one or two lay magistrates), so I doubt that anything that I write here will divert the course of justice from its path.
In my opinion, Alison Chabloz has a reasonably good chance of success on the facts, but of course this is a very “political” case. “They”…you know…(((they)))… are taking a great interest and “they” want their pound of flesh and more. More honest people have been appalled that a woman can be prosecuted, let alone imprisoned, in England, for singing songs of historical and socio-political satire.
Prior to today’s court hearing, Alison Chabloz commented on her blog:
[the above is a mentally-disturbed (and on medication) “antifa” troll and stalker from, it seems, the Manchester area; he may or may not have attended the hearing at Derby today].
Below: a tweet from a Jew-Zionist stalker who was in Derby today to gloat. Bitter herbs for his or her food this evening! Note how other Jews join in online…
#AlisonChabloz appeal hearing update – it’s a slow one today in court not been seen yet She is hanging around with a few holocaust deniers around the corner from me
From the fragments that I have seen on Twitter, it appears that the presiding judge was not unwilling to consider the claim by Counsel for Alison Chabloz that “a lobby” has been behind this legalized hounding of her; the judge wants further information and evidence of that (it seems). Should not be too difficult. “They” (e.g. the “Campaign Against Antisemitism” fake charity) have been crowing online for months, indeed years, about how they have instigated and now “re-opened” court proceedings against Alison Chabloz.
Just look at that report! The Jews of the “CAA” were in near-ecstasy at the thought of Alison Chabloz having been handcuffed. A psychiatrist specializing in psycho-sexual disorders would have a field day with that little cabal!
Hopefully, Alison will be able to blog about the events of today.
Update, 1800 hrs:
According to Shazia Hobbs, whom I believe is a supporter of Alison Chabloz, in fact Alison’s appeal has been adjourned not until next month, as the first reports indicated, but until 25 and 26 June. Presumably set down for two days.
Shazia Hobbs is now, like me and so many other people, banned from the ever-more-boring Twitter echo chamber, but her post about this on GAB and FreeSpeechExtremist seems plausible, in view of the fact that the police in Derbyshire seem thoroughly under “their” thumb…
Alison’s appeal has been adjourned to 25th and 26th June at Derby Crown Court. While the judge gave her unconditional bail to 25th June, she was arrested outside court by Derbyshire police officers, apparently on new charges under section 127 of the Communications Act. #FreeAlisonChabloz”
Thoughts
My first thought on the above, assuming that it is accurate, is that the action of the (“occupied”?) Derbyshire Police would seem to corroborate the claim of Alison’s legal counsel that there is a continuing “lobby” campaign to “get her”. As yet, the identity of the complainant in this new matter is not known to me. I have a couple of likely suspects in mind, though.
Harry and the Royal Mulatta
Looks like the “royal” couple will be right royally at home in the new Canada…(I saw this on FreeSpeechExtremist, together with the caption: “Canada isn’t Canada anymore“)
I notice that the UK msm is now turning against the (literally) “entitled” pair of spoiled brats. I have never seen that before, not even with Diana or “Fergie” (Sarah Ferguson).
Alison Chabloz update, 2300 hrs
One of the Jew-Zionist tweeters noted above has now tweeted this photograph, below, of Alison Chabloz being led away today by Derbyshire’s poundland KGB:
[meant to be Diane Abbott and Jeremy Corbyn, but if the cap fits…]
Harry and the Royal Mulatta: A Continuing Bad Joke
On Twitter, there are many idiots who blame “racists” and “misogynists” for “hounding” out the Royal Mulatta and her henpecked little boy. Their huge privilege goes with certain approved and customary behaviours. They want the lifestyle (minus the duties) but can’t seem to behave. This was always going to be a disaster. Some of us predicted it. Cultural differences…
Let’s just leave it at that.
I have an idea for a sitcom or comedy drama: A British royal prince marries a black woman (darker than MM, in my screenplay) and gives up his position to live with her in Hollywood, Beverly Hills or maybe Bel-Air. The marriage goes sour, she chucks him out, he is unable to return to his old life so he becomes a mixture of “bum” and private eye (a la Rockford Files)…Working title? What about “The Private Eye Prince“? Only joking…though I suppose that the Queen or Charles will have to chuck the “prince” some money to prevent him selling used Cadillacs or making money opening stores on Rodeo Drive…
To be fair to MM, at least she has some idea of what it is like to live without everyone fawning simply because you are the holder of an inherited title (come to think of it, Harry never did have that DNA test done…).
One has to ask, where would Harry be without his princely title? A junior Army officer unlikely to be promoted beyond the rank of major? An estate agent? A car salesman?
That thought (where would Harry be were he not a prince?) brings me to another thought. Were he an average Joe in title as well as every other way, would MM ever have agreed to meet him, as we are told she did, on a blind date?
Meanwhile, the tweets just keep coming!
Just had chat w/ Harry and Meghan & told them I'd set up a Go-Fund Me page for them and have an old-fashioned Southern "pounding" for them so they could get set up as "commoners." https://t.co/CvTK6ZIFNC
Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s wax figures have been removed from the Madame Tussauds royal family display following their announcement to step back as senior Royals. pic.twitter.com/Pn1Cu3tnqv
[for the historically illiterate, the above photos show Stalin with Molotov, Voroshilov and —brushed out of the second photo, having become an unperson— Yezhov, on the Moscow River embankment c.1937].
I am not a royalist, though not exactly an anti-royalist either. It all depends on circumstances and on the type of society.
“The welfare of the people is the highest law” [Cicero]. Harry has probably never heard that one.
For those who are dyed-in-the-wool royalists, and for those concerned about the —literally— millions of pounds of public funds spent only recently on renovating the “cottage” occupied by Harry and MM, I offer this consolation: Harry and the Royal Mulatta are still going to spend some time in the UK, their very presence providing balm and comfort to the repressed and suffering British people. Yes, indeed, they will fly in on private jets and helicopters to lecture the grateful British masses on “climate change” and, of course, “how to be multicultural”…So the £3M those taxed masses have had taken off them for the refurbishment etc (oh, and of course the £1M p.a. security costs, and the costs of world travel etc) have not been wasted. Oh, no, wait…
What is really funny is that all the “left wing” Twitterati, those who (you would imagine) oppose royal privilege, are actually on the side of Harry and MM. Ha ha! Those idiots.
“Ali G” said it!
Dominic Cummings
Not much in recent days from No. 10’s lunatic-in-residence. I blogged (again) about him last week:
Only in Private Eye: the People's Prime Minister answers questions from the public (but not ones from his wife's divorce lawyers like "how can you afford to go to Mustique?"). Plus an exclusive diary from Dominic Cummings, as told to Craig Brown. Buy your copy now! pic.twitter.com/10ffe7titk
I do not think very highly of loudmouth msm talking head James O’Brien, but I agree with this!
I am naturally very scruffy. Clean but incredibly messy. Even when I’m suited & booted for telly etc I will look creased & dishevelled within two hours max. And I don’t see how anyone can routinely look as absurd as Dominic Cummings without consciously trying to.
Trump has appeared at a White House press conference slurring his words and even odder than usual. I have previously wondered whether Trump has suffered some physical brain abnormality, something causing organic change. So far no proof of that beyond his behaviour and his peculiar and puerile-looking tweets etc. Now he has had killed an Iranian general, has threatened to obliterate Iran (Hillary Clinton did that too; they’re both in the Jew-Zionist/Israeli pocket) but has not retaliated after Iran sent missiles into Iraq.
What’s going on? Has Trump been drugged to stop him launching a world war? Are we in “Seven Days in May“?
In the next 5 years, almost anything could happen.
Alison Chabloz is in court tomorrow, at Derby. She appeals her conviction and sentence (8 weeks’ imprisonment, notionally) for breach of a condition of her original 2018 sentence. Good luck to her! May justice and mercy prevail!
I have never been there. I doubt that I would like it much.
I have lived in a number of countries in my life, from my own land, the UK (much of my life from 1956 to 2020); Australia (<3 years aged 10-13 in the late 1960s); USA (about 2 years altogether within the years 1989-1993 in New Jersey and New York City, and then, much later, shorter business and personal trips to South Carolina and Florida); France (4 years but commuting every couple of weeks to the UK); Kazakhstan (one year, 1996-1997); Rhodesia (part of 1977); Turkey (4-5 months altogether), Egypt (about 3-4 months altogether), the Eastern Caribbean (a few months). Shorter visits and holidays etc have been many and varied, from Moscow to Cayman, Liechtenstein to Alderney, Tunisia to Poland (where I spent a total of, probably, about 3 months in the late 1980s), North Cyprus to Qatar, among many others.
Now? I am too European —and maybe too advanced in years now— to live in countries controlled by non-Europeans (and to tolerate their dirt and disorganization).
Well, seems that those who said that the thick princeling would end up being taken to Hollywood were not wide of the mark…
That pair have become mere “celebrities” in a milieu where it sometimes seems that everyone and his dog is a “celebrity”. Even the Jew-Zionist lawyer, Mark Lewis, and his “she-once-read-Sky-News” second wife (the marriage lasted nearly a year) were posing as “celebrities” about 6 years ago. Now Caroline Feraday is a single mother (no, not Lewis, apparently), and is living in a small house in an obscure Californian suburb, and working in an office, while Lewis himself, now living in Israel, was found to have sent a number of people obscene or offensive messages while, it was said in his defence (!), almost doolally on prescription drugs. Censured and fined by the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal in 2018, he was let off a heavier fine because having been, in effect, sacked by his law firm, the Tribunal heard that his only assets were his vulgar clothes, a pension worth £70 a week and a mobility scooter! Even his car was provided by the DWP, via the Motability scheme! The “top libel lawyer”…
Beware the “celebrities”…
Jess Phillips
A couple of things today re. uncultured loudmouth Jess Phillips, who thinks that she could be a prime minister! In the American vernacular, JESUS H. CHRIST!
Jess Phillips is a real freeloader even compared to most MPs:
Jess Phillips claimed £207,157 in expenses in 2018. Of this £157,490 was spent on staffing (her husband works for her). Another £24,269 was claimed for office costs, £21,696 for accommodation and £3,626 for travel. She claimed £48k more than anyone else! For doing what??
The other thing is that I have still not been able to prove that Jess Phillips is maybe part-Jew or has some familial Jewish connection, which I have long suspected; but I notice that the Twitter Jew-Zionist cabal seem to favour her and, only today, I saw some System talking head tweeting about how it was “antisemitic” to oppose Jess Phillips. “The shark can scent blood a mile away when he is hungry…” [Control in The Spy Who Came In From The Cold]
— Campaign Against Antisemitism (@antisemitism) January 8, 2020
Ha ha! Oh, yes, the voters of Redcar voted to support the Jews! That’s plausible (not)…
Anna Turley was known as completely pro-Israel etc, so why did the Redcar voters not support her and vote for her and so, via her, the Jews? (though I concede that it may just be that the Redcar electorate is composed of badly-educated plebs easily fooled by the Sun “newspaper”. I have never been there, so cannot say).
I have blogged about this before, but it has now gone way beyond a joke when almost every single TV ad has to have a mixed-race couple (usually black man with white and often blonde woman) and usually mixed-race offspring. In fact, the situation now is worse even than it was when I blogged about that. It’s plainly a conspiracy, a kind of social engineering aimed at children and the young generally. Normalizing such liaisons.
What makes me laugh, if bitterly, is that so many msm characters still sort-of believe that we in the UK live in a “democracy”, even if flawed. If we are in a “democracy” at all (and it is of course a question of definition: see my brief historical analysis in Notes, below), then it is one where the democracy is little and mostly on the surface:
Christopher Steele, ex-head of MI6 Russia desk & author of so-called ‘Steele dossier’, has made very few public pronouncements. If he talks – as he does below – we really should listen. Lack of action against election interference = ‘scary’ https://t.co/JN1mjuwklk
“The release of documents began on New Year’s Day on an anonymous Twitter account, @HindsightFiles, with links to material on elections in Malaysia, Kenya and Brazil. The documents were revealed to have come from Brittany Kaiser, an ex-Cambridge Analytica employee turned whistleblower, and to be the same ones subpoenaed by Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Kaiser, who starred in the Oscar-shortlisted Netflix documentary The Great Hack, decided to go public after last month’s election in Britain. “It’s so abundantly clear our electoral systems are wide open to abuse,” she said. “I’m very fearful about what is going to happen in the US election later this year, and I think one of the few ways of protecting ourselves is to get as much information out there as possible.”
[Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg testifies to Congress after it was reported 87 million Facebook users had information harvested by Cambridge Analytica. Photograph: Yasin Öztürk/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images]
The documents were retrieved from her email accounts and hard drives, and though she handed over some material to parliament in April 2018, she said there were thousands and thousands more pages which showed a “breadth and depth of the work” that went “way beyond what people think they know about ‘the Cambridge Analytica scandal’”.”
UK General Election 2019
The recent General Election was a prime example of the depths into which British “democracy” has fallen. The main three System parties were all headed and fronted by idiots:
Boris-idiot, who shows off his rote-learned ancient Greek and Latin, together with his collection of obscure words from the OED, when he wants to impress the plebs. A part-Jew public entertainer, useless at all previous jobs, sacked from most, whose previous bosses and colleagues concur in saying how useless, dishonest and unpleasant he is. Someone with no real ideas politically or ideologically;
Jeremy Corbyn: a long-term political self-caricature. At least he is anti-Zionist, but spoils even that by parrotting “holocaust” and “anti-fascist” nonsense, marking Jewish holidays etc. A personification of ideological cognitive dissonance, who was backed up by another idiot exhibiting similar traits, John McDonnell (who after the election result was interviewed in his garden, looking bemused and indeed like nothing more than a “grandad” who had been tipped out of his wheelchair and mugged). Corbyn’s political idea for the UK seemed to be a mixture of Labour policies 1945-1992, 1960s Cuba, 1980s Nicaragua, or the crazy Venezuela of more recent times, with a bit of (cartoon version) 1930s politics thrown in— “No Pasaran!” Spanish anti-Franco-ism, the Front Populaire, “the battle of Cable Street” etc. A joke;
Jo Swinson: doormat for the Jew-Zionists, who thought that she could be a Prime Minister when she was already hugely over-promoted as leader of the pathetic LibDem party, which seems to have no reason to exist anyway.
Ecce, your “democratic” choice!
Then we see that a fake pop-up “party” (Brexit Party), promoted by a con-man (Farage) siphoned off any radical nationalist votes, then unexpectedly withdrew all candidates facing Conservative Party candidates. A deliberate manipulation, probably a conspiracy. Possibly even procured by secret bribes, paid to Farage offshore. That is my honest belief, anyway.
And that is before we even consider the role played by the (basically, mainly) Jew-Zionist dominated Press, TV, radio etc. It has already been established by objective academic studies that Boris-idiot and his party were given a completely one-sided easy treatment as compared to Labour. (((They))) wanted Boris-idiot to win. He did.
This is what our “democracy” has come to. You get someone who, like Jess Phillips, is basically uneducated, uncultured, a careerist and/or freeloader (see her MP expenses: eg she employs her husband as “Constituency Support Manager”, meaning house-husband, for which she claims £50,000 a year for his pay, plus this and that).
The selection procedures of the System parties are pathetic. Most people with any real background are filtered out if they have their own views. The ones who get in are those who, like Jess Phillips, cobble together a CV from bits and pieces, and know people. Again, look at Iain Dunce Duncan Smith and his fraudulent CV. Or women like Liz Tr[redacted] and Lucia[redacted], who can be said to have become MPs “on their backs” (if that is the accurate phrase). Then once installed, those MPs are exceptionally hard to remove, particularly if they know the right people in their local party organization.
Boris-Who? Boris-How? Boris-Where?
People are asking “where is Boris, at this time of huge tension in the Middle East?” Well, the straight answer is that he is in a £20,000 a week villa on Mustique, but the answer to the implied question is another question: who cares where the idiot is?
The people who think that Boris should be in Whitehall, leading Britain’s response to the US and Iran, are those who think that Britain is still some kind of huge international player militarily. In reality, not so. We hear a lot about how Britain “punches above its weight” because of its commercial and financial hub position, because of its (supposed) intelligence and security expertise, because of its proficient armed services, even because of the English language!
There is some truth, of course, in all of those, but to say that Britain is a huge player militarily or geopolitically is mainly wishful thinking. It is the same or similar self-delusion that leads people (often misled by scribblers making money out of it) to think that National Socialist Germany was defeated mainly by clever little people in Whitehall back-rooms thinking up terribly clever “deception” operations, running “resistance” networks in occupied Europe etc.
Well, these activities did have some peripheral effect or effects (the ones that worked at all; a notable amateur duffer was the later James Bond scribbler, Ian Fleming), but of course those operations (The Man Who Never Was, the Double-Cross System, and virtually anything attempted by the ludicrous Special Operations Executive) were, or were supposed to be, subordinated to actual military operations.
The Reich was defeated, of course, not by terribly precious people in Whitehall, White’s Club, or the Ritz bar, thinking up deception operations and directing small numbers of sociopaths (in the Maquis, the “Resistance” etc), stabbing lone Germans in the back, or blowing up cafes, but by the millions of Red Army soldiers on the Eastern Front, gradually advancing with their tanks, horses, field guns and terror, by the huge American armies, navy, air force and, though hidden, atom bombs, and by the similar millions of British and Empire soldiers, sailors and airmen, fighting on all fronts.
Britain today is not really very powerful. I regret that, but it does not help to pretend that Britain is almost a superpower. One is reminded of the speech given to the assembled Con Party Conference at 25 years ago by Michael Portillo (he is better as a TV train buff; I enjoy his shows). In fact, part of that speech was good, but he made a fool of himself by pressing into service the name of the Special Air Service:
The thing is that, yes, elite units like the SAS are superb tools of the State, but —as General Schwarzkopf said in the 1990s Gulf War— “special forces do not win wars”. They are strategic tools, to be used in “special” strategic situations, and are not much good —and indeed wasted— in ordinary battles or large scale advances.
The fact is that Boris-idiot, as notional chief of the UK, is not really a player, unless the USA wants Britain to be seen to be there as “ally”, rather than USA seen to be acting unilaterally, which of course is the reality (with Israel hiding behind the curtain).
The events of the world, whether in Iran, Iraq or elsewhere, are happening regardless of what Boris-idiot says or does. Anyway, Britain only has about 70,000 in its Army, and of those only about 50,000 are even deployable. Many are simply not fit for duty, let alone action.
The fact is that Britain is a spectator for the most part. I suppose that the British nuclear forces (on submarines) are the exception to that. It would be an extraordinary misuse of them to utilize them to attack Iran, though, in support of Trump’s adventurism and Israel’s hidden agenda.
Trump and Iran
Trump has managed to do what generations of peacemakers failed to do— unite the Iranians and Iraqis! I suppose, to be fair, Teheran’s influence over Baghdad has been growing for many years anyway.
Looking at the wider picture, in the 1970s, 1980s, Israel was menaced by anti-Israel states all around. Iran, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt and other North African states, Libya in particular. Now look! Syria, Iraq both devastated, Egypt under “control”, Libya on its knees and engaged in internecine conflict, Lebanon flooded with refugees from Syria, and the Gulf Arabs almost lining up to say nice things to Israel.
These changes did not come about by accident. Now Iran is in the gunsights of the Israelis and, more importantly, their “tail wags dog” “ally”, the United States, which subsidizes Israel, gives or sells it weapons, supports everything that Israel does or wants, yet tells its own people that the USA needs Israel, when the reality is of course the reverse!
Today the President of the United States said he is willing to target civilians, cultural sites, and places dear to a society in order to inflict TERROR.
It seems that Iran has offered USD $80M for the head of Donald Trump. About $79,999,099 more than it is worth! Tempting though…Sadly, it is about 42 years since I last fired a long-distance rifle (and if one were to enter the lists, it would be nice to have the chance to spend the bounty…).
Alison Chabloz, the persecuted singer-songwriter, is in court on Friday 10 January 2020, her appeal hearing against a relatively brief prison sentence imposed for “breach of condition” within another sentence. Good luck to her!
Well, here we are…not on Merry Christmas but (maybe) near Happy New Year. Time for a few stray thoughts about the year passing away, the year(s) ahead, and about where UK society and the world may be going.
I am going to be adding to this throughout the day, in a stream of consciousness way, not in any particular order or with any fixed structure.
Bush fires in Australia
As a child of 10-13, I lived in Sydney, on the North Shore (Mosman/Cremorne), in the late 1960s (2-3 years). I recall seeing bushfire damage in the Ku-ring-gai Chase area (many miles to the North) once or twice (may have been a controlled burn fire gap), but only once saw an actual bushfire, and that was when my family drove up to Queensland in 1968. Somewhere in the Northern coastal part of New South Wales. We drove through an area with fire on both sides of the highway (Australia had no motorways then outside Sydney). That cannot of course be compared to the almost apocalyptic pictures we now see on TV from NSW and Victoria.
Temperatures? Well, I do recall that, one day, in Sydney, the news was full of how the next day would be the hottest ever recorded in Sydney. I think it got to 112F (44C). One day only, as far as I can remember. I think that that was in December 1967 or January 1968. I see from Wikipedia that Sydney’s record high, more recently, is recorded as having been 45C. So not very different.
Where it is now different is that such extreme heat now seems to go on for weeks or even months. I have heard so from members of my family who have visited Sydney a number of times in the past 20 years or so (a few even live there). They have no doubt that Australia is far hotter now than it was in the late 1960s. As I say, it is now not a question of isolated very hot days but of relentless heat every year for months at a time.
No-one had aircon in their home then!
For me, the question of “climate change” or “global warming” resolves into:
Is the climate worldwide getting hotter?
Is human behaviour part (or even all) of the causation?
What if anything can be done to ameliorate the effects, or even halt the process?
For me (obviously not a scientist and/or “expert”), again, the answers (provisionally) seem to be:
There is evidence that there is a warming trend worldwide, but the evidence is far from conclusive;
Human behaviour may be part of the causative trigger, but is unlikely to be the whole or only reason why the Earth’s atmosphere etc is warming (assuming that it is);
Human behaviour might make a difference but only if the really large-scale industrial powers, with overwhelmingly huge populations, cease to exist or to exist in the way that they now do. I am talking about, mainly, China and India.
What I can be certain about is that ridiculous rants by the likes of Greta Thunberg, and the kind of pathetic sub-terrorism indulged in by Extinction Rebellion will achieve nothing at all. I have blogged about these already:
For me, it is clear that the problem is, at root, the huge human population on the Earth now, which is twice as large as it was even in 1970 and about twenty times what it was at the start of our present age (the Fifth Post-Atlantean) in or about 1400 AD.
I feel that a huge “correction” in coming. In fact, I am rather glad that I shall probably be discarnate when it happens, though I do feel a responsibility, not to do anything to prevent it (I have no power to do so anyway), but to plant a seed which may one day burst into life as a new super-race and super-culture.
The collapse of the recent “climate change” summit was inevitable. The large polluting countries, chief among them China and India, cannot do enough (on the premise that cutting back on “emissions” actually helps), the USA will not do much, so the international System and the System msm concentrate on the peripheral issues, such as “emissions” of carbon from countries such as the UK, Australia etc. The UK only produces about 1% of global carbon “emissions” anyway, so it scarcely matters, in reality, what the UK does. That is even more true in respect of Australia.
Russia and “the West”
Russia today is not the Soviet Union. It is merely a large nation-state which sits somewhere between being a regional power and being a superpower.
The Soviet Union wanted to take over the world and certainly Europe in the 1920s, 1930s and even 1940s. By the 1950s, its leaders knew that that would probably never happen. Just as the Schlieffen Plan solidified into the trench warfare of the First World War after 1914, the revolutionary and later at least expansionist aspirations of the Soviet Union had solidified by the late 1940s into the Cold War rivalry with the US-led “West”. After 1989, that had all but stopped but was then replaced by a Russian-nationalist ideology.
As it now is, Russia is not going to invade Europe, but NATO is encircling (has encircled) Russia, and is pushing. Don’t push Russia too far. It now has hypersonic missiles and is years in advance of the Americans. The new missiles can hit American targets within 15 minutes.
“The general who oversees U.S. nuclear forces, Air Force Gen. John Hyten, said in February that hypersonic missiles can strike America within 15 minutes, half the time of ballistic weapons” [Bloomberg]
The lesson is obvious: stop poking Russia with a sharp stick.
In terms of conventional arms too, if need be, Russia can place 4 million men in the field, and even its active forces dwarf those of Europe and are more effective as well. As for the Americans, they have technology and numbers, but do they have real will?
The New World Order tried to swallow Russia in the decade after 1989. It failed, thanks to the upsurge in Russian nationalism under Putin and also thanks to the Islamist upsurge.
Russia is unlikely to be the aggressor (in Europe) but do not underestimate its power.
Some people make the mistake of saying “Russia’s economy has fundamental weaknesses, therefore it is militarily weak”. A mistake made throughout history. The Medes and the Persians. The Spartans and the Persian Empire etc. Stalin said of the atom bomb, “we must have it even if we have to eat grass”…(cf. North Korea).
China
One of the jokes of recent years was the spectacle of the then UK Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, a former fireplace salesman, interrupting playing with his pet spider (yes, really…) to threaten both Russia and China with his meagre forces! What a total idiot! He even threatened to send one of Britain’s few (about 20) capital ships to the South China Sea! That would really frighten China, which has about 700 naval ships and submarines, and over 700 naval aircraft! Not to mention 255,000 sailors:
I have blogged a great deal about the recent General Election. No point in regurgitating all that. Still, worth recalling that the 2019 Conservative vote only increased by 1.2 points over 2017. The Labour vote fell by 8 points. All the same, Corbyn did as well or better than Miliband or Brown, in national vote percentage terms, and not far short of Blair. Unfortunately for Corbyn, the national vote percentage is not the only factor.
The General Election of 2019 reinforced my view that Labour is now a niche party for the “blacks and browns” as well as public service people. It has no broad appeal. That however may change. Had only 18-24 y o voters voted, Labour would have captured almost all seats in England and Wales, and at least half of those in Scotland. The Conservatives would, by contrast, have no seats at all, not one. Is that a straw in the wind? Was 2019 the “last hurrah” for Labour, for the Conservatives, or for both?
The roots of the Conservatives in their new Northern seats are very shallow. Look at Hartlepool, a Labour seat even now. Labour received over a third of the vote, but both Con and Brexit Party over a quarter. Volatile, like all of the North and Midlands now.
It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that Labour, if radical, could bounce back and, with new voters coming up and retired elderly ones dying, seize back the field, all but wiping out a Conservative Party which in some respect is as weak as Labour.
In the last couple of years, we have seen Jez Turner (Jeremy Bedford-Turner) convicted and (incredibly) imprisoned merely for making a humorous reference to Jews in a public speech, and the satirical singer-songwriter Alison Chabloz convicted and briefly imprisoned (the matter is still in part under appeal as I write) for singing humorous songs!
What we face in the UK is an intensification of the assault on free speech, which is actually now being placed in the hands of police supposedly investigating “terrorism”! One man was convicted in 2019 of putting up “neo-Nazi” stickers on lamp-posts. Sentence? 2.5 years! Another was imprisoned for 2 years merely for posting remarks o Twitter and Facebook. The judge in that case was unwise enough to say that the harsh punishment was “to deter others”. A poundland Judge Jeffreys…
Etc
There is a huge amount still to say, but no more time today.
