The Western msm portray “Ukraine” (the Kiev regime) as some kind of embattled democracy fighting an evil empire, but the reality is that Ukraine, as it now is, is a brutal, corrupt, shambolic dictatorship running a fake state, in fact a non-state, which would collapse within weeks were Western money, arms, and ammunition etc to be withheld.
Damn…my own car is a diesel. Fortunately, I rarely go outside my own local area these days. A full tank lasts me anything up to 2 months.

Now, let me be abundantly clear.
I do not believe that any violence against the police is acceptable.
I also do not believe that a two year prison sentence is appropriate, particularly when we are allowing paedophiles and rapists to roam our streets because of a supposed lack of prison capacity.
The BBC reports the man ‘said he had found the bottle on the ground and was going to throw it into a nearby bush, but was angry and so threw it up into the air.’
Reportedly, he told the officers to ‘f*** off’ and ‘pointed aggressively’ at them (ITV).
I can understand the anger, to be honest. This was happening as illegal migrants were being ferried into his town.
This sentence is unfair, unjust and morally wrong.
Let’s be honest about what has happened here.
The establishment is making an example of this man to deter others from protesting.
A two year sentence is absolutely outrageous – there are far better ways for him to make right the wrong.
The third world invaders are greeted to luxury accommodation as heroes, yet this man will rot in prison.

I agree with Lowe, except insofar as he is too moderate in his views.
What is happening in this country is an invasion, an invasion of a formerly (and to some extent still) reasonably-civilized land by a horde of backward black/brown untermenschen from some of the most savage and uncivilized parts of the world.
Protests, and direct action, by British people are a natural consequence of what is happening, and against a conspiratorial system of —or within— government which is facilitating the invasion, and has been for decades. Google Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan.
If the police act as the goons of an emergent police state, then they cannot expect the British people to treat them with the politesse, still less respect, that our forbears may have.
Assuming Lowe’s facts to be correct, the defendant was rude to the police, pointed at them, and may have thrown a plastic bottle at their (probably armoured and helmeted) ranks.
For that, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years, so will probably be in prison for the next year. Absurdly and unfairly harsh. The maximum that could be passed in the magistrates’ court.
It is arguable that he should not have been charged at all. If he was to be charged, it should been a charge of insulting behaviour, something which might result in a fine or a suspended sentence.
The sentence passed is akin to one from Ukraine or Belarus rather than one passed by any decent English court.
In my view, both as observer (from afar) of these events and former practising barrister, the defendant, like so many others (eg Lucy Connolly and previously-tried protesters over the past 2 years) made a mistake in pleading guilty (probably on legal advice from some tick-box legal-aid solicitor and/or counsel) to the violent disorder charge.
The fact is that the System is determined to act with utmost ruthlessness and harshness to anyone protesting on the street against the continuing invasion of this country. Look at what has been happening since Starmer-stein demanded such harshness in 2024.
In my view, any credit given for a guilty plea in such circumstances is purely notional. The defendant should have pleaded Not Guilty and taken his chances with a jury (if the matter is one that a jury can hear). In that part of England, he might even have been lucky enough to get an all-white jury (violent disorder can be tried either in “the mags” or at Crown Court; if the latter, a jury trial)…
There is also the point that, to plead guilty is to make things easier for the System. Don’t do it. Don’t play their game. Judges of the sort we have seen over the past 2 years are unlikely to show mercy, or even common sense.
Incidentally, I am not just spouting from an ivory tower. I myself faced trial (in the magistrates’ court) 3 years ago, and for a political offence. I pleaded Not Guilty, but was convicted, being sentenced over two-and-a-half years ago, in March 2024: see
Further thought: almost every day, migrant-invaders are being sentenced (usually to non-custodial sentences) for a wide variety of crimes, including crimes of violence and sex crimes.
I hope that the defendant in this case appeals on sentence and that, in respect of his upcoming second trial (on the other matter, the assault charge), is acquitted by the magistrate.
The judge (I presume a district judge) in this case should be ashamed of himself. A suspended sentence would have been more than adequate.

Translates into something like 318 Labour MPs, Reform 120 MPs, Cons 103 MPs, 58 LibDems, SNP 24 [etc]. So not enough for a Labour majority in the Commons, but easily enough for a Lab-Lib coalition or arrangement.
Hard to believe, and slightly dispiriting, to see that over a quarter of the “British” (meaning UK-resident) population is still willing to vote Labour, but of course the UK is now at least 20% black/brown/other ethnic minority. I think that explains most of that. Were only white, i.e. real, Brits to vote, the Labour support would be nearer to 8% or 12%.
As far as the Cons are concerned, most of their voters are long-term Con voters aged 70, 80, 90, stick-in-the-muds whose intellectual landscape is that of the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, and even Daily Express. 20% of the electorate today, but might be 15% or even 10% by 2029.
As far as I am concerned, UK elections at this point are not legitimate, so governments “elected” via those elections are likewise not legitimate.
