You often hear or see the statement “The Third Reich was terrible because [whatever].” Often cited is euthanasia of the terribly mentally or even physically disabled etc. Few consider that that or similar happened also in the USA, UK etc in the 1930s, though not often admitted to.
When people today say that they are, say, Roman Catholic, do other people say “so you support the Inquisition?!” or “so you support the torture and genocide of the Cathars?!” No…yet the same or similar questioners might say to someone who is social-national politically, “so you support euthanasia of the badly-disabled?!” or “you support gassing Jews?!” (leaving aside the doubtful proposition about whether the fabled “gas chambers” even existed). They might as well demand an answer to the question “so you want to invade Poland?!“.
Point made, I think.

I travel to Cancun and isla mujeres (near Cancun) pretty frequently. Last time I was there I was so surprised by how many restaurants and stores were ONLY in Hebrew. It felt like there was an Israeli occupation of sorts going on in Mexico.

When I was just 16, in late 1973, having dropped out of school [https://rbcs.org.uk/], I spent about a month at Henley College. Most of the students and staff were pretty thick. I especially remember one lecturer who was hugely offended because I attacked (verbally) Robert “Maxwell”; his reputation, not his corpulent person.
At that time, Maxwell was mainly known as a big businessman who was also resident in Oxfordshire, a few miles north of Oxford. This was 20 years before it became known that he had been defrauding his own Daily Mirror employees’ pension fund (in fact, this was years before Maxwell bought the Mirror; his main company then was Pergamon Press). Few knew then, in 1973, that Maxwell was a major MOSSAD asset.
I have an instinct. I knew that the bastard must be a fraud. Not just because he was a Jew, by the way.
I recall that silly staff member of Henley College getting really angry at me, and being so despite his not even being a Jew, as far as I could see. Well, as I say, most of the staff were pretty stupid people.

The Times is reporting tonight that Rachel Thieves is planing big tax rises and spending cuts totalling an eye-watering £40billion, a figure far higher than disclosed before. Nightmare on Skint Street starts on October 30.

The whole idea of the UN Security Council is that it consists only of the largest and most significant states which have real military power; states which are large geopolitical players and which, in practice, are also nuclear powers: USA, UK, France, Russia, China. All hold the power of veto.
As usual, Starmer tries to play the statesman, rather than the grubby little careerist bureaucrat that he is. He is entirely unconvincing. There he goes, interfering in completely irrelevant and pointless matters overseas, when his own country is close to crisis.
For Starmer, the one-time criminal lawyer, what matters is fiddling around with rules and regulations, rather than trying to achieve concrete socio-political results in the real world.
The entire country, pretty much, has already come to the conclusion that Starmer is in the wrong job.
In any case, how does Starmer intend to “push for” reform of the UN Security Council when all 5 permanent members have a veto, and when, even if that could be overcome somehow, the Security Council would become a dead letter, were the USA to withdraw completely? In fact, in that circumstance, the UN itself would become a dead letter, and might as well just close down.
The military-destructive power of the USA is such that, without American agreement, most Security Council resolutions would be otiose, as would be, a fortiori, any resolutions actively opposed by the USA.
Starmer is a total waste of space.

Yes, that is one extraordinary aspect of the whole mess. The Kiev regime is presently conscripting only those aged 27+ (in theory, younger men —and women— can volunteer, though few now do). The result is that the Kiev-regime forces are full of the middle-aged, while those approaching the age of 27 desperately try to flee the country, or hide inside Ukraine, or buy fake exemption papers, or bribe doctors etc.
I can only assume that the Zelensky cabal has decided that the under-27s have to be exempted on the grounds that the Ukrainians are actually dying out, and more babies have to be born.
