I doubt whether replacing one Labour Friends of Israel puppet with one or more others will save Labour, either at the 7 May local elections or at the (?) 2029 General Election. Some types of food crop need virtually no skill or effort to grow; examples include broccoli, tomato, peppers, cucumber, courgettes.
Obviously, horticultural skill, husbandry effort, varieties planted, and installed glasshouses (which may be basic or may have automated irrigation, temperature control, sun control etc) make a big difference to volume grown but, in principle, much can be grown without great expense, knowledge, or effort.
For example, in the South of England, in the open, a plot 20 x 20 feet might result in an annual broccoli crop of between 100 and 400 pounds weight.

I propose the following: that anyone should have the right to go to university, so long as the university itself is willing to accept that applicant, but that only the top 10% of applicants (however determined, and there would be a debate to be had about how to define the “top 10%“) should get grants for full tuition costs, and full (as decided) subsistence costs.
The next layer, say 30% of applicants, would have their tuition paid but not their living costs, and they would have to take out student loans for that, which loans would have to be repaid in the future, no matter what.
The remaining 60% of applicants would also have to take out student loans, but for both tuition and subsistence.
Harsh, yes, but I think necessary.
One could imagine also that students willing to undertake studies particularly favoured by the State might get bonus amounts, if approved as suitable, just as Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force scholarships are presently paid to suitable students at UK universities, which students undertake to serve as officers for a few years after graduation.
Why not extend that to a range of studies directly useful to the State or society generally?
In fact, persons willing to train vocationally but not at university, in fields useful to the State or society, people such as nurses, plumbers, bricklayers etc, should also be able to get grants.

Found in a cave in what is now southern Germany in 1939, the Lion Man makes sense as part of a story that might now be called a myth. Boris Johnson put mass uncontrolled immigration on steroids and should never be allowed anywhere near frontline politics again.
I thought, when he was not nominated (plainly at his own request) for a fake peerage that Johnson, aka “Boris”-idiot, had it in mind to stand for leader again.
Were Johnson to get some sympathetic Con MP to stand down in his favour, Johnson might well win a safe-seat by-election.
Why would any MP do that? In return for a promise of getting a peerage later. That would not require Johnson to be Prime Minister, because the Leader of the Opposition also has peerage-nomination rights.
Johnson would then have to wait (probably) until November 2025 before at least 15% of Con MPs send in letters of no-confidence in “Carpetbagger Kemi” Badenoch. That means 18 MPs, as matters stand. That would happen. Con MPs know that Kemi Badenoch is a total turn-off for most voters, sure to lose the next general election and, thus, a number of seats.
Then, all Johnson would need would be a small number of MPs (in the 2024 leadership election, the number was 10 MPs) to nominate him as a candidate (quite likely possible).
Opinion polls of 2024 Con-voting people show that Johnson is far more popular (despite his evident unfitness to hold office, despite his total incompetence) than Kemi Badenoch.
I may even place a bet on “Boris” to be next Con Party leader. The odds, though, are not too generous, below 5/1. Maybe I shall lose my money elsewhere…

I happened to see that one of my earliest blog posts, written almost exactly 8 years ago in January 2017, and brief, had a couple of recent hits after all these years. Still worth reading, I think.
In two minds about that. First of all, the farmers may be notionally anti-socialist, but that never stops them from accepting all the subsidies and other freebies they can get, and they are not only ungrateful for getting heavily subsidised in the first place but also constantly demand more.
On the other hand, the farmers are one of the last few bastions of Britishness. Few are black, brown, Jewish, Muslim etc.
The German people should, before all else, demand repeal of all “holocaust” “denial” laws (and similar repressive laws), which criminalize free expression, and inhibit examination of history.
Until that is done, untruth will continue to permeate German history and public life.

The whole idea of the UN Security Council is that it consists only of the largest and most significant states which have real military power; states which are large geopolitical players and which, in practice, are also nuclear powers: USA, UK, France, Russia, China. All hold the power of veto.
As usual, Starmer tries to play the statesman, rather than the grubby little careerist bureaucrat that he is. He is entirely unconvincing. There he goes, interfering in completely irrelevant and pointless matters overseas, when his own country is close to crisis.
For Starmer, the one-time criminal lawyer, what matters is fiddling around with rules and regulations, rather than trying to achieve concrete socio-political results in the real world.

In any case, how does Starmer intend to “push for” reform of the UN Security Council when all 5 permanent members have a veto, and when, even if that could be overcome somehow, the Security Council would become a dead letter, were the USA to withdraw completely? In fact, in that circumstance, the UN itself would become a dead letter, and might as well just close down.
The military-destructive power of the USA is such that, without American agreement, most Security Council resolutions would be otiose, as would be, a fortiori, any resolutions actively opposed by the USA.

Yes, that is one extraordinary aspect of the whole mess. The Kiev regime is presently conscripting only those aged 27+ (in theory, younger men —and women— can volunteer, though few now do).
