This country needs a party at least of the strength of the AfD of Germany or even further to the ‘Right’ such as the German parties called ‘Die Heimat’ (The Homeland) or ‘Der Dritte Weg’ (The Third Way/The Third Path).

When the very few other countries have introduced this barmy and wholly unecessary idea they have found 16 and 17 year olds have voted at higher rates than 18 to 24 year olds. Labour’s idea is obviously based-upon the tendency of adolescents to be idealistic and what parties appeal to often unrealistic utopian ideals? In Germany’s recent general election, the AfD had only 5% less vote share than the hard-left and globalist, anti-German Die Linke (The Left) party. However, this was amongst 18 to 24 year old voters.
Currently, 16 and 17 year olds can not vote in Germany at federal(national) elections to the Bundestag though thry can for state elections, EU elections and local ones.
The previous SPD (German Labour Party)/Green/FDP (German Liberals) coaltion wanted to reduce the age for which people are allowed to vote for Bundestag elections to 16 but the Constitutional Court blocked it after the CDU (German Tories) complained.

The only real answer to the Israel-Palestine issue is the peaceful dismantling of the Zionist state and it being turned into an independent Palestinian state where both Palestinians and Jews can live in harmony together as they mostly used to do during the British Mandate period before 1948.

Silly Tories here should have created a basic, codified constitution for the UK with a Constitutional Court to enforce it then it could have contained rules for the franchise such as the age a person would have had to have been to vote for the first time. Many countries have this. In the Republic of Ireland, Labour’s blatant gerrymandering of the electoral rules in order to tilt the electorate into a more pro-Labour direction would require a national referendum to alter.

Hopefully, those 16 and 17 year olds who intend to vote and back Labour will mostly or even all live in safe Labour seats so their votes will only uselessly pile-up Labour majorities in those constituencies.
A Labour MP elected by a 10,000 vote majority is just as useful to the party in parliament as one who has only a majority of one vote over their nearest opponent.
