I am that age, consume almost no mainstream media and have no interest in supporting foreign wars. Learned my shameful lesson with Iraq. I try to encourage everyone to use X. Even MY mother (in her eighties) gave up on Fox over its coverage.
There is a definite gulf between the older and younger generations (without defining the exact age boundaries too precisely). The older someone is, the more likely that that person will both watch and trust the TV news (in the UK, BBC, ITV, Sky, in that order), and will also take seriously the print newspapers, either in their original form or in their online offshoots.
I doubt whether anyone under 30, perhaps anyone under 40, actually buys print newspapers any more. I am 67, and have not bought a real newspaper for at least 20 years. Looking in the local Waitrose, I notice that the only people buying newspapers are those in their eighties, at a guess.
There's no money to invest. The US Govt is broke. No surplus in decades. $34 trillion in debt. $214 trillion in unfunded liabilities (without surplus that's debt). You run a bankrupt nation surviving with money printing. For that reason the world stops trading in USD. It's over.
“Almost unnoticed amid the drama and crisis that hit Latin America every week, in the last days of February the Cuban government asked the United Nations for aid to address a growing food shortage.
The unprecedented cry for help from a communist regime that has always prided itself on its social welfare model captures Cuba’s dire economic straits. Hurt by tightened US restrictions, decaying domestic production, a weak post-Covid tourism industry and indifference from its allies, the island is living through its worst economic days since the collapse of the Soviet Union more than three decades ago. A string of blackouts brought people into the streets last weekend, shouting for “food and power” — a rare display of social unrest since the turmoil that shook the island in July 2021, which the regime contained with crushing force.
Once you get past the finger-pointing, what we’re witnessing is the collapse of Cuba’s socialist regime. This transition could take decades. Or it could happen in much the same way as that great Cuba aficionado Ernest Hemingway once wrote of bankruptcy: “Gradually, then suddenly.”

While I would not regard myself as “expert” on Cuba, I think that I probably know a bit more than the Average Joe. I once passed an exam in Cuban History 1940-1970, and have read the main histories, albeit long long ago (early 1980s).

“While Labour is favourite to snatch the Northamptonshire seat from the Tories, Sunak’s party faces a battle even to take second place, if local opinion is anything to go by.”
[The Guardian]
Less an ordinary by-election, more a possible template for GE 2024. As I have blogged previously, there is a mood somewhere between anger and apathy, a mood which has become palpable in recent years, recent months.
The electorate now hates and despises the Conservative Party, whose governments now seem totally incompetent and ineffective. However, fake Labour is not much liked or respected either. “Least worst”, if you like.
As the Guardian report about Wellingborough indicates, that electoral mood leads people either to vote Labour as least-worst option, or to protest via Reform UK.
Sadly, no real social-national party is available.
The electorate’s present main emotion is wanting to stamp on the Government, on the misnamed Conservative Party, and on its MPs.
“A BBC editor was hired as an expert witness to help at least 15 Somalian criminals fight deportation – including a vile offender who sexually attacked a deaf teenage girl.
Now an investigation by this newspaper can reveal Ms Harper has givenexpert witness evidence in a string of other controversial deportation appeals by Somali offenders – including for another three sex attackers, three drug dealers and a career criminal who spent a decade in British jails.
In one of the most shocking cases, Ms Harper warned that a Somali man who committed a horrific sexual assault on a profoundly deaf 17-year-old girl would be at ‘severely heightened risk’ if he was sent back to Somalia because he had committed a sex crime.
A judge disagreed and threw out his appeal against deportation. Astonishingly, this newspaper has discovered that, 16 months later, the 29-year-old attacker, who the MoS is banned from naming by a court order, has still not been kicked out of Britain and is living with relatives in a council flat.”

Get rid of the invaders. Get rid of any who connive at the migration-invasion of this country.
Talking point: a medical episode
I do not usually blog about any medical conditions that may impact me, but in this case something wider, about the NHS, is illustrated.
When I lived for a year in Kazakhstan (1996-1997), I suddenly became almost deaf at one point. Ear wax. The wife of a Russian colonel with whom I was friendly took me to a local hospital not far from where I lived; I think that it was about a mile up the same long boulevard, Prospekt Lenina.
The treatment was basic but effective. A giant “watering can” was filled with water. I was enjoined to kneel down with my head sideways over a large receptacle. A metal cone about 2 feet deep was then positioned over one of my ears. One nurse held the cone as the other poured the water quickly but steadily into the cone.
The feeling —not pain exactly, but pressure— was almost unbearable for a second. It reminded me of a couple of experiences during scuba dive training. Then it was over, and a plug of ear wax the size of a little finger was floating in the water. Blessed relief. Hearing was restored.
I think —cannot now recall— that either the treatment was free or involved a small fee. I wanted to give the nurses themselves some money, but Ludmilla, the colonel’s wife, told me that that would not be necessary. She was always saving me from “wasting” money (and/or from the odd blonde), as when we were at the “Zilyony Bazaar” (“Green Market”), the Central Market in Almaty, and she would not hear of me having my fortune told by an ancient Kazakh woman sitting on the ground, and who used small animal bones to do her divinations. Ludmilla was a strong character, a contrast to her very easy-going husband.
The next time I had a similar problem, about 2015, the local GP surgery made me an appointment to see a nurse. I did attend, but in fact felt OK by the time I attended, and the nurse said that she could not see any wax anyway. So nothing had to be done.
Well, here we are in 2024. I was informed by the same GP surgery that they “no longer offer” any ear wax removal. A private clinic was recommended. It operates out of a small and quiet NHS hospital in a coastal village about 5 miles from my home. I made the appointment. £15 non-refundable deposit and £65 for the treatment. I could have had it done earlier, but am in fact going next week.
So there it is. Something that used to be free on the NHS now has to be paid for, or no treatment. I am not exactly affluent these days, and even a sum as small as £80 is not nothing (as the Russians say), but one can well imagine that there are many who would struggle to find the fee demanded.
The NHS is less and less useful. Here we are, with GPs earning, in most cases, £100,000-£200,000 a year, monies coming out of all our taxes (even if, like me, you are not employed, you still pay out via VAT etc), and they no longer offer what was a minor but still very useful service. A sign of the way things are going.
The NHS lost its way many years ago. It now seems, often, to be run mainly for the benefit of those employed in it.
It is not just a question of supplying the NHS with more money, or higher staff salaries, bonuses etc. It is a question of making sure that the people are offered services, and that the outcomes are good. Also, that the people needing medical (and dental) help, and their families, are not messed around and ripped-off (eg by having to pay exorbitant parking fees).
At least I myself shall not have to pay for parking next week; having been to that small hospital once before, I know that parking is free, just as in the Good Old Days (or today in the USA, France and I think almost everywhere else).

The very concept of “free speech” is heavily under threat already in the UK (mainly from Jew-Zionists and the Israel lobby, and from unthinking police, CPS, and other “official” drones), but now we see that people are being criminalized simply for having it assumed that they are thinking something!
Sturgeon and her SNP crew deserve to be kicked into the political gutter.
How cheaply people are bought, though! The Scottish electorate was offered and given a few cheap trinkets for its votes: no hospital car park charges, no prescription charges etc. That, and the the promise of a wonderful affluent Independence (which will never happen).
Nothing wrong with free parking and free prescriptions, as such, but look at the wider cost to the Scottish people under Sturgeon’s poundland dictatorship.

“Exclusive: BBC staff are being told not to hire candidates who are “dismissive” of diversity and inclusion. A recruitment policy document says that applicants should be asked to “what opportunities do you see for you to promote, celebrate or encourage diversity and inclusion in your role?”
The guidelines tell recruiters “don’t hire; [candidates who are] unsuited to the organisation” if they are “dismissive or derisory of diversity and inclusion and surrounding topics”.
Managers are also directed not to offer jobs to candidates if they show a “lack of interest in learning more where no evidence of education and understanding of diversity and inclusion was given”.
Commenting on the recruitment guidelines, a BBC source said: “The BBC is not a welcoming place for those with conservative opinions. Management talks about diversity, without embracing diversity of thought.
The place that I have given years of my working life, and that I sincerely cherish, currently feels captured by Left-wing activists and is unable to deliver on our core principle of impartiality.”
“Hiring on the basis of adherence to diversity and inclusion ideology excludes most conservative-minded people, and indeed much of the population.”

Sorry to see that notice. I was a member of Lincoln’s Inn from 1986 until I was (wrongfully and unlawfully) disbarred in 2016, at which point my membership of the Inn was, effectively, terminated automatically.
As a very frequent user of Lincoln’s Inn Library, I knew Catherine for many years (1988 to about 2002). She was from the North (maybe North East) of England, from a family in a coal-mining community. Beyond that, I knew little of her personal life, though I believe that she got married at some point after having joined Lincoln’s Inn (and the photograph in that tweet, showing a ring, would seem to support that).
A nice person.
[The Library, Lincoln’s Inn, London]
Mortality. It comes to us all. Catherine, I now see, was actually 6 years younger than me. It reminds us that we must stand up for truth and justice etc while we live, no matter what challenges the forces of Evil array against us.
The brave IDF dressing up as women and medical staff to murder 3 patients they allege are ‘terrorists’ in a hospital Now tell me Israel is a normal, democratic state pic.twitter.com/5swxmmX0q6
Well, looked at from an ethics-free view (and/or from the Israeli point of view), that operation has the hallmarks of skill and cunning. Equally obviously, to kill patients prostrate in a hospital (one photo shows a single bullet-hole in the centre of a hospital pillow, with blood around it) is pretty abhorrent and, indeed, very wicked, something one would associate with the worst criminals and terrorists.
Frederick Forsyth was or is very pro-Israeli. I saw something from him once to the effect that terrorists who then gain state power (as happened in Israel/Palestine when the various Jew-Zionist terrorists of the Irgun, Palmach, Stern Gang /”Lehi” etc became part of the Israeli power structure) can leave their terrorism behind and become “normal” political leaders of “normal” states.
Forsyth’s view may have had its arguments when he was most fervently pro-Israel, in the 1960s, 1970s, but now the facts have changed or become more evident: Israel’s massacres of Arab civilians every few years, and of course the truth coming out more in the West about the ethnic cleansing (mass murder, and theft of land) carried out by the Jews in Israel/Palestine from 1948 to the present day.
Forsyth himself, who always strikes me as rather dim, at least politically, was cheated out of much of his invested money by a Jew he trusted (“Roger” Something), insult then being added to injury by the said Jew receiving a mere suspended sentence for the embezzlement of millions of pounds. That episode is, incidentally, absent from Wikipedia. “They” seem to have been “editing” (sabotaging) again…

Freedom of expression on political, social and even historical topics is as good as dead in the UK, and those responsible are, for the most part, those who may well be called “the usual suspects”.

Gordon Brown— a totally useless pseudo-democratic political drone. As Prime Minister, he understood nothing about either politics or (real) economics. Superficial erudition covering utter ignorance of almost everything.
Listen to the idiot, saying in one sentence that he is not in favour of censorship but that “these people” (GB News) have to be kept off the air. When did he say that about vulgar pests such as Jo Brand or, say, the Jewish “comedians”, such as David Baddiel? Never, as far as I know.
Of course, GB News is mainly “controlled opposition” (OFCOM would never allow me to have a TV show, for example), but “all roads lead to Rome”…
"Multiculturalism has failed," said Suella Braverman and Richard Tice claimed, "it was the bravest thing I've ever seen." Corbyn has no idea. He stood up quite well (though half-heartedly) to the Jew-Zionist element for a few years, but is otherwise politically disastrous.
You’re the only white personality in that crowd. Does multiculturalism mean no white people?
“Just think of what’s happened on channels like the BBC and Channel 4.
In 2019 Jo Brand joked about throwing acid over Nigel Farage on the BBC – No further action.
In 2020 Sophie Dukes joked about killing white people on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order – No further action.
In 2020 Miriam Margolyes said she wanted Boris Johnson to die on live TV while he was seriously ill with COVID – No further action.
Did the same people calling for GB News to be shut down call for the BBC and Channel 4 to be shut down? Of course they didn’t. The double standards are utterly staggering.”
Regular readers will know that I myself currently face trial by the State (at the instigation of a pack of Jew-Zionists). I cannot blog about that prior to said trial (for reasons to do with potential contempt of court) but the above tweet makes the point for me.
Laurence Fox should just have joked about throwing acid around at people he doesn't like.@ofcom finds that completely acceptable.@ofcom took no action when Jo Brand did it, but she's a safe approved star on government TV.
I recall Jo Brand on the BBC saying battery acid should be thrown over Nigel Farage. Nothing happened to her.
Yet @LozzaFox says he doesn't want to have sex with a woman while @danwootton awkwardly smiles/giggles and the left are in uproar, demanding their heads. Hypocrites.

Lawrence Fox made a few disparaging remarks but that’s all. He did not break the law, encourage violence, unlike Jo Brand on bbc! It was after the watershed and GBNews is about free speech, which is why it’s so successful. Dan did nothing wrong. Move on GBNews
“My final thoughts, before I move on. As we have a busy day helping a girl who misgendered another student, by refusing to call her a cat. I know. Welcome to 2023. People are entitled to have a view on what I said and that is fine by me. Whilst a bit crass, it certainly didn’t merit the mega media storm which has resulted. Especially given the genuinely appalling things said on TV which pass without comment. The woman on the BBC saying she wanted to kill all white people. And countless other examples. I have been saying to GB news for months that they should stand up for themselves more against these unending attacks. Instead they panicked. Trying to appease an enemy, who will not stop until they shut down. Namely @Ofcom. A regulator created to ensure the state narrative is persistently and regularly hammered into every home.
As it happens, I am the catalyst for the great takedown to begin, which on reflection is a cause of sadness and regret, but if it hadn’t been me, it would have been one of the desperate presenters currently joining in the pile on, not realising that it’s just a crocodile eating itself, and not long from now, many of them will be out of a television job, or so shackled and censored, that any whiff of authenticity is gone. Like a nodding dog on a car dashboard. And about as relevant.
The United Kingdom is run by one political party, pretending to be two, by wearing different coloured rosettes, with the same freedom sapping policies and controlling agendas.
That is why you are seeing every show on regime TV discussing this affair, and both sides of the uni party calling in unison for an end to the insurgent channel. The uni party need Izvestia to spout their narrative.
Where GB news have erred is by forgetting why they came into existence in the first place. Calling themselves the “home of free speech” is a simple principle to protect. They could have easily said “whilst we find Laurence Foxes comments appalling and they aren’t representative of our views, we respect and uphold the fundamental right of free speech.”
This would have provided at least some defence and given time and opportunity to rally public support and fight back. Instead they went on the defensive. I still haven’t heard a word from them, and am waiting for the chop on Friday at my disciplinary hearing.
Such is life. I own my mistakes and take full responsibility for them. The major problem for them is now they are not the home of free speech at all. They are the exact opposite. They will cancel just as readily, if not more so, than the rest just to try and stay alive, and they have opened themselves up to an unending, brutal and sustained attack from the regime and their media lapdogs. In trying to appease the mob, they have emboldened it. Which is why you never apologise to the mob.
I have worked hard to put across different stories, like the case of ST, which most of the propaganda media have ignored. I have enjoyed the lovely responses I get from the public for doing so. So it is a shame I feel for everyone that GB fell straight into the trap set for them. I feel even sadder, and pissed off at myself, that I allowed myself to be the bait for that trap by trying to make a serious point in a jokey and lighthearted way.
Now I must rebuild. I’ve done it before and I will do it again. I have two kids to feed and clothe after all.
On a final note, we should all ask ourselves if this is a society we want to live in, where the cancel mob reign and your only chance at existence is total and utter capitulation to their whims.

The IEA’s Mark Littlewood says he is worried that “you can’t talk about” issues like migration without people “shouting at you.”
My own upcoming trial (for allegedly having posted a handful of comments and cartoons on my blog) is yet another example of the encroaching police state.
Politics professor Sir John Curtice says “Conservative politicians are making a bit of a mistake” by “focussing on immigration.”
“It’s not the cause of the Conservative’s difficulties therefore it’s probably not going to be the route back to recovery.”@JuliaHB1pic.twitter.com/296HIjzLlj
Professor Curtice, eminent and erudite psephologist though he is, cannot see the wood for the trees.
In the world of the Professor, there are parties A, B, C, D, and the game is to accurately predict how those parties will do competing against each other in a structured contest in which all parties of importance are saying variations of the same thing.
In the real Britain, however, there is migration-invasion on a vast scale, our society is being trashed, almost everything is slowly seizing up and ceasing to work properly —or at all— and standards in all areas are sliding.
Adam Boulton arguing that a broadcaster (@GBNews) should be closed down because they’re trying to break the “broadcasting ecology in this country”. What he means is they present political views he doesn’t like. The left become more oppressive by the day. pic.twitter.com/bV93FTvBcD
“Left/Right” means nothing but, otherwise, that tweet is correct. Adam Boulton is a System drone, like so many others. Applauds the forced closure of the RT television station, and wants GB News to be shut as well. Freedom of expression, free speech etc mean nothing to these propagandists, who are akin to Soviet media broadcasters.
The System media in the UK promoted the “Covid” scamdemic/panicdemic, has never seriously challenged the mass immigration into this country, nor examined the results of Jewish immigration into the UK in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Enoch Powell being Enoch Powell and being proved correct and Adam Boulton being Adam Boulton and being predictable. Politicians since Powell's sacking have taken the Boulton route with equally predictable results. https://t.co/4CQfCiEWa6
The System drones and propagandists are all piling in to bury even the semblance of free speech. Here is BBC (also ITN, Channel 4 etc) drone Michael Crick:
Growing consensus tonight that Ofcom needs more teeth and backbone. If the Conservatives don't sort it out, then let's hope Labour do.
These types are no different at root from Soviet media enforcers and sell-outs. They cannot wait for Jewish-lobby puppet Keir Starmer and his post-Blairite know-nothing MPs to form a quasi-dictatorial government, to really shut down freedom of expression using the Online Safety Bill expected to become law soon.
When you see Adam Boulton, Kay Burley, Tom Bradby, Newsnight presenters etc, you are not seeing people who live as slightly more affluent members of the public, but people paid literally millions of pounds per year. They are shackled to the System, afraid to lose their pay and privileges.
As a matter of fact, you find that most of these prominent media faces also have personal and family links with System politicians or those who work in TV current affairs. Examples:
“Boulton divorced his first wife, The Hon. Kerena Anne Boulton, after his affair with Tony Blair‘s spin doctorAnji Hunter became front page tabloid news in 2002.” [Wikipedia];
“Crick lives in Wandsworth,[33] South London, with his partner Lucy Hetherington, an executive TV producer who has managed documentaries and current affairs programmes. She is the daughter of former Guardian editor Alastair Hetherington.” [Wikipedia].

84 years and one week ago. Interesting. Even in the photo, you can see that the German, Guderian, a famous tank general, is basically a decent person, whereas the Soviet representative, Krivoshein, a Jewish Bolshevik who became a leading tank warfare exponent in the Red Army, is not, though of course that view may be taken to be speculative.

…the large-scale recapture of the land lost to Russia in 2022 looks less and less likely as the days shorten. Those who invested heavily in a summer offensive against Russia have so far been disappointed. And what then?
The USA is still (wisely) dead set against involving itself directly in the war, so what will break the stalemate? Does this just have to go on and on filling graveyards and doing severe economic damage to Ukraine and Europe? With what aim?
…I can sniff the wind as well as anyone, and when the mighty US magazine Foreign Affairs publishes a major article with the title Will The West Abandon Ukraine? (to which the answer, in my view, is ‘quite possibly’) I think something is going on.
I’ve never been able to grasp what Britain’s interest is in sustaining a costly and risky war in South-East Europe between two corrupt and ill-governed hunks of the old Soviet Empire. A lot of US Republicans, not just the ghastly Trump, are also doubtful about the point of it.
Then there are recent reports of growing friction between Ukraine and Poland‘s government. I’m surprised this has not happened before, given the fairly recent (80 years ago) violent history between the two neighbouring peoples, in an area where events 500 years ago can still stir up bitter enmities.
And there is the current scandal of alleged corruption in Ukrainian military recruiting offices. This is no shock to anyone, as you can barely breathe in Ukraine without encountering corruption. But the point is that it suggests people in quite large numbers are paying to avoid fighting.
At the same time a lot of men of military age, banned by law from leaving Ukraine at the moment, are being caught trying to slip across the frontier with Romania. Which suggests that quite a few are getting through, and that this is a major difficulty for a country which has suffered terrible military casualties.
Honestly, if this war had not been so widely portrayed in crude storybook terms as a super-simple fight between total good and total evil, which it isn’t, we might have reached this stage before. But better late than never.“
[Peter Hitchens in the Daily Mail]
I recall a discussion with some late middle-aged Poles in the snowy Polish winter of 1988; a week or two before Christmas. All three (a husband and wife, and the brother of that woman) had lived through the tumultuous events of the mid-20th Century in that part of the world. The brother had been captured with other Polish Army recruits, then deported by Soviet authorities to Vorkuta, where he spent several years but survived [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorkuta].
That family had originally lived in or near Lvov (now a major city in Ukraine) but had been displaced. They however were adamant that they were Poles, and never Ukrainians. They seemed rather hostile to Ukrainians, in fact. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lviv#Interwar_period.
Since the Russian invasion of 2022, there has been a warmer Poland-Ukraine relation on the official level, but it cannot be said how long that will last; it may be fraying.

He was jailed for three years and two months at Manchester Crown Court (Minshull St).“
On the face of it, that sentence seems exceptionally lenient, albeit that there may be mitigating facts not given in the newspaper report. The defendant will be out in about 18 months.

Worth listening to, though for me it is clear that the Earth is reaching, perhaps has already reached “peak population” (especially as far as the non-European —i.e. non-white— populations are concerned).
One sees much discussion online as to what is “Marxism” or “Communism” (or “Socialism”), and as to whether the new emerging totalitarianism in the West is “Marxist” or not. Many (of varying viewpoints) question the equivalence, looking at what is aimed at, and what are the policies espoused.
In fact, much of that debate is too theoretical. When you look at things from a practical perspective, the similarities are far more apparent. Look at a few of those.
In the Soviet social system, an extension of the ideals of the French Revolution was preached: liberty, equality, fraternity. Needless to say, those ideals were more honoured in the breach than in the observance. Even before Stalin took full power, a whole system of special rations, special pay, special healthcare and (in reality) education began to be implemented for the favoured parts of the population, especially the Nomenklatura.
Those favoured lived very different lives compared to the rest, all delineated by reference to rank and favour. Spacious apartments instead of shared and/or cramped houses and flats, healthcare in special hospitals (the best being the so-called “Kremlin Clinic” in outer Moscow) rather than standard Soviet hospitals, and a graduated set of special food outlets (usually not even open to the general public), in which could be bought items rarely or never generally available (caviar, smoked salmon, imported foods, imported kitchen equipment), and so on.
At the higher levels, the nomenklatura travelled “soft class” rather than hard, could get internal air tickets when they were hard to get for the base population, and had cars for local and regional transport (even in the 1980s, a black person in South Africa had a greater chance of buying a car than a Soviet citizen).
At the very highest levels, this “class division” of travel reached staggering inequality. The top brass would travel by “private” rail car or aircraft. When Sakharov was told to relocate in order to help with the Soviet atom bomb and hydrogen bomb projects, he travelled in a rail car which had a bedroom for himself and his wife, a sitting room, a dining room, accommodation for guards and other staff, a staffed kitchen, and an observation deck. This railcar was tacked onto an ordinary train.
The disparity even extended to communications, the nomenklatura above a certain level communicating among themselves by means of a special system of reliable and secure telephones. This was the vertushka, or vertushki (there were several levels of service, all self-standing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertushka).
Now look at the rulers and beneficiaries of the Western system today. The lifestyle disparity between the favoured few and the rest came out all the more strongly during the “Covid” “scamdemic”/”panicdemic”.
At meetings of the G7 or G20 heads of government in 2020-2022, the top attendees went around unmasked, shaking hands, kissing the ladies who were governmental leaders or their wives. Meanwhile, right next to them, were the waiters, waitresses, bodyguards etc, all masked! Almost an insult, really, a finger put up to the sheep watching on TV or reading the newspapers.
Indeed, the same is true in terms of travel. Ordinary people were banned from travel, or allowed to travel only on sufferance and after complying with Kafka-esque conditions, but the wealthy few and the governmental leaders continued buzzing around on private jets, and in reality subject to few restrictions.
We see the hypocrisy even now. The Harry Formerly Known as Prince, with Meghan Mulatta, making several transcontinental journeys per month using large private jets, often in order to speak about how the travel of the bulk of the population must be restricted or banned.
Not just Harry and the Mulatta; look at, say, Bill Gates, Emma Thompson and the rest. All travelling on hugely polluting private jets, helicopters, superyachts etc and at the same time lecturing the rest of the population about how they must accept ever-declining living standards…
In fact, that wealthy and ultra-wealthy stratum already live lives very different from the main population. In the UK, for example. Private jets for overseas travel. Helicopters for intra-UK or short-distance European travel. If cars need be used, that would usually be for short-ish distances, and the vehicles will be those that insulate the occupants from the outside. Range-Rovers, Rolls-Royce etc.
Needless to say, the wealthy rarely if ever require the NHS. Private healthcare only. As for security, the police are only needed as a backup for those in staffed country houses or London penthouses etc. Private security, maybe even bodyguards.
One could continue, but you see the point. This is a matter of the exercise of power, as well as that of privilege. The discussion “socialism” v. “capitalism” is largely sterile.
Everywhere you look now, you see the masks coming off: “15-minute cities”, 20 mph speedlimits, ULEZ, “social credit” ideas, the banning of most cars (in the medium-term and even short-term), the threat of further faked biosecurity “health” measures such as the facemask nonsense, “lockdowns” etc like a Sword of Damocles waiting to fall.
Add to that the black-brown migration-invasion and the obvious implementation across Europe of the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan.
The black-brown hordes coming to Europe and including the UK are almost all coming from relatively poor living conditions in their home countries. For them, it does not matter that the NHS is failing, that the roads are falling to pieces, that pay and State benefits are low, that the police forces scarcely work, that the justice system is disintegrating etc. Why? Because all that is still far better than where they come from.
I am glad to see that a large part of the British population is at least becoming aware of the outline of what is happening.
“Welsh people have started fighting back against the country’s new 20mph speed limit by painting over newly-erected road signs for the newly-restricted zones.
Furious locals spray painted over signs for the 20mph limit after Wales’s new rules came into force today as lorry drivers also vowed to show their opposition by driving at 19mph.
Photos show furious drivers have now started fighting back against the scheme by vandalising the newly-erected speed limit signs themselves. Drivers taking to the road were also left confused as many local authorities failed to put up the new signs ahead of the 20mph limit coming into force.
Some drivers said they were ‘scared’ to go out in case of being trapped by police, static cameras and mobile speed vans, with one elderly couple having cancelled their trip to Aberystwyth to visit family due to their fear of getting a £100 fine.“
Interesting. Not a new idea (it goes back a hundred years) but it looks as if it will not be long before robot domestics will really be part of everyday life.

Also, the Guardian says that his second wife, married in 1978, was a senior lawyer with the CPS. Perhaps later, but not in 1978; the CPS was only established in 1986.
Oddly enough, one of my first wife’s colleagues, an American girl, told me, at a baseball game at the old (now-demolished) Veterans’ Stadium in Philadelphia, that she had done an internship with Gerry Bermingham at Westminster. That baseball game must also have been in 1992, or maybe 1991.

I have very little interest in football or other organized mass spectator sports. I have, however, had a few oblique thoughts about the women’s football situation, and the so-called “lionesses” (England women’s football squad).
Though women’s football goes back about 100 years, it has never had the high profile of the men’s game. The same is true of women’s cricket and most other sports.
Now, however, in the UK and other countries too, you have to be lucky to avoid it in the msm. This has come about rather suddenly, and seems to be being promoted as the latest mass “experience”.
One mass “experience” (eg “Black Lives Matter”, “Ukraine”, “Covid” and so on) replaces another, in a never-ceasing chain.
The period 2022-2055 is one in which the transnational secret rulers of the “West” are pushing certain trends very hard: a multiracial mass population in Europe, North America, Australasia etc (as part of the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan); globalism generally; globalized finance-capitalism; hostility to white Northern European people, culture, and way of life; “bio-security” (inc. microchip implants). “net zero” (inc. “15-minute cities”, anti-car campaign etc).
“LGBTQXYZ” too. It is noteworthy that a high proportion of women professional footballers seem to be lesbian, if the UK tabloid Press is correct.
Part of the transnational conspiracy seems to concentrate on the abolition of anything even resembling the traditional male/female binary. Thus the constant promotion of the “trans” nonsense, which has exploded in the West, mainly in the past few years. Thus one sees not only some female goalkeeper swearing loudly on pitch, but being widely acclaimed for displaying what until recently would have been described as “toxic male aggression”…
As said, I myself have little personal interest in mass spectator sports, and likewise no great objection to people (men or women) playing sports as they wish. My interest lies in what is behind phenomena such as the present promotion of the “lionesses” team etc.
Can you confirm if you will, or won't, be uploading your conversation with Jack Monroe?

The interesting is this is how they reacted when their own staff said something is wrong. Imagine how they react when it is a patient saying the same. In those cases the staff back up the management. The NHS is not fit for purpose, cares only about itself and should be abolished.
Bravo to you for speaking up for us all, I hold York NHS trust in very low regard having seen my father in a geriatric ward many years ago dehydrated basic care ignored by nurses behind a desk. We got him out. I hear no good reports of this trust, I didn't complain as pointless
I do not agree about removal of pensions (in this case or any case) but dismissals are probably in order.
The NHS principle of “free at point of use” is one that I support, but it is clear that the NHS has gone astray in many areas, particularly the whole administrative area.
Even today, you hear people claim that only the UK has proper free health care. In fact, many other countries do healthcare better, not least France, where hospital wards (as distinct from one or two-person rooms) are now almost unknown, and where care is often far better as well.
I knew an late middle-age/elderly couple in Brittany (when I lived there for several years). They both had serious health problems. The husband of that couple said that, on telling the equivalent of an NHS consultant what medications he had been on in the UK, the doctor had nodded and replied, “I think that we can do a little better than that“… Does that not speak volumes?
I might add that the couple in question, who lived quite near me in Finistere-Nord, about an hour’s drive, 43 miles or 69 km, from Brest (where the hospital was), used to be ferried by taxi (paid for by the health service) to and from that hospital. Imagine that on the NHS…
There has to be partly a step back (eg reinstating the Matron position in hospitals), and partly a step or two forward (in listening to patients and putting patients first), in the NHS.
At present, the NHS, like the police, the court system, the school system, the university system, the BBC, the Foreign Office (etc), and various other parts of UK society, is just not fulfilling its proper function much of the time.
There’s something very odd about changing speed limits to 20mph all over London (and Wales) at the same time as rolling out ULEZ in theory to reduce emissions. The evidence suggests that driving slower at 20mph *increases* toxic emissions...”
Seems like a fair question to ask:
If reducing emissions is really the goal, justifying huge daily fines on older non-compliant cars, then why are we introducing a speed limit that increases emissions and logjams?
That is because (like ULEZ), the programme to get everyone driving at 20 mph is only superficially about fuel emissions. The real or hidden agenda is the “electric cars only” agenda.
What is the real agenda? First, stop the most polluting cars being allowed to drive, then stop all diesel/petrol cars, then only allow certain types of electric vehicle on the roads (at first in London and other large cities, then nationwide, and even in remote countryside).
Result? Most people unable to afford to buy cars or to drive at all. They will then have to travel on monitored and controlled public transport (facilitated by under-skin microchips, in the end), or stay corralled in “15-minute-cities” etc, which will develop into (again) highly monitored and controlled zones almost like open prisons, or somewhere between normal neighbourhoods and the latter.
Convenience and social pressure will tend to “nudge” acceptance of “the rules”. Many may find the new social order not too bad— lower crime, no commute, easy shopping etc. Those who do not easily accept the bridle may be sanctioned in various ways via what may develop into a Chinese-style “social credit” system of control.
The most staunch of dissidents will then be removed, and will no doubt suffer the penalties usually visited upon such people by totalitarian states.
As with the 2020-2021 “Covid” hysteria (now being tried on again…), there is at least one hidden agenda.

The present Conservative Party thoroughly deserves to lose the 2024 General Election, but anyone who thinks that Labour-label, under a pack of Jewish-lobby puppets (Starmer, Rachel Reeves, Yvette Cooper etc) is going to be even slightly better is sadly deluded.
As for Yvette Cooper herself, she was an outright fraudster during the main MP expenses scandal, along with her husband, Bilderberg attendee Ed Balls, and is totally in the pocket of the Israel lobby. Obviously, only a small section of Philadelphia will be like that, but it should not exist at all. I believe, from what I have read, that those “zombies” are users of the drug Fentanyl, but for me, looking at their degradation, the mystery is why they use it at all.
I recall when I was first in the USA as an adult, in 1989, asking a Federal employee (later my first wife), as we drove through some unpleasant section of Harlem in New York City, why there were so many suspicious-looking, mainly black, individuals congregating on corners, pretty obviously dealing drugs, without being moved on by the police. The answer? Constitutional right of free assembly (First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution).
For me, the law (including constitutional law) is there to serve the people, “for the welfare of the people is the supreme law” [Cicero]: salus populi lex suprema esto. If the law does not do that, it must be changed, however old and venerable it is.

Well, there it is. I do not regret that I decided to cease practice at the Bar in 2008 (though my wrongful and unlawful disbarment, at the instigation of a pack of Jews, did not happen until 2016).
The Bar of England and Wales, looking at it overall, is now little better than a dustbin, like much of England itself.
A reminder that the appeal fund to support Sven Longshanks (James Allchurch), both while he sits in prison and upon his release (sometime next year), is still running.

I used to eat there occasionally in the 1980s, along with two now-deceased people: Ig Avsey, lecturer in Russian and noted translator of Dostoyevsky, and Guy Churchill, retired academic and one-time SAS soldier (mainly in Malaya in the 1950s).
I think that I have blogged about the pair before: Ig a good friend and one-time teacher of mine (at the nearby language school, part of the University of Westminster, which I attended p/t in the 1980s), and Guy Churchill, a mixture of resigned though amused cynicism and English eccentricity.
Guy surprised me (and Ig, I think, with whom he was more friendly) by suddenly getting separated and/or divorced at (?) maybe 70 (he looked older), while Ig surprised me even more by later getting married, a second marriage, to a young Russian woman he had met at, I think, a bus stop in Riga. My wife and I attended the wedding reception in 2002, where the bride, 20-something, looked out of place among the guests, 40-something and older (many 50+ or 60+).
I was already acquainted with a few of the other guests, including Gerald Brooke, who was exchanged in 1969 for the Krogers (Cohens), long-term Soviet KGB “illegals” [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Cohen_(spy)]
Brooke had spent 4 years in Soviet custody; in the Lubyanka, and then at Vladimir prison, about 100 miles east of Moscow.
Both Ig and Guy were rather eccentric. Ig’s main room was full of huge railway clocks, while Guy’s fridge (in the old person’s apartment in Vauxhall Bridge Road he took on after his separation/divorce c.1989) contained only a 6-pack of lager beer. Guy also had another odd habit, one I have never seen anyone else display— he would break off the filter tips from cigarettes before smoking them.

As for Drummond Street, there is a similar street in Manhattan, E. 6th St. All Indian restaurants, or was [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curry_Row]. I visited that street too, once only, around 1990 or so.
[Strange synchronicity: after I wrote the above, including the sentence about the Krogers, I turned on Talking Pictures TV, and they were showing Ring of Spies, a 1963 British film (released 1964) about the Krogers and the Portland spy case (1953-1961). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_of_Spies.
Not a bad film in a low-key way, and it keeps pretty much to the known facts of the case.
Also interesting from a social history point of view are the bits of London shown, that now look very different compared to how they were in 1963. Examples include the area of the Tolworth Tower near Surbiton, outer London (the building is still under construction in a scene from the film), and the 1.5-acre public roof garden of the old Derry & Toms department store in Kensington, which later became a nightclub, and later still a restaurant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tolworth#Tolworth_Tower; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derry_%26_Toms; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kensington_Roof_Gardens].

Lambs to the slaughter. I regret that, despite the fact that I recognize that this is a war Russia has to win, whatever “victory” looks like.
A senior official in the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) called the war in Ukraine a "stalemate" and said that no weapon the U.S. and NATO are providing will help Ukrainian forces "break through" in their counteroffensive.
“As a child aged just nine, I endured the longest and most terrifying night of my life, fleeing with my family from our home.
Nearly 70 years later, every detail of that escape is still burned into my memory. All my life I have had the deepest sympathy for fellow refugees: those who leave behind everything they own and everyone they know to reach safety.
It was at the beginning of winter in 1956 that the Furedi family fled Hungary. My father was one of the leaders of the workers’ councils in Budapest organising resistance to Soviet Union control. That culminated in an uprising, which was mercilessly crushed by Red Army tanks and troops.
Many of these peers inhabit a fantasy world. The soaring numbers of illegal migrants entering Britain don’t lose them any sleep at night. In their ermined world, any attempt to find a practical solution to the problem is dismissed as ‘isolationist’, ‘morally unacceptable’ and ‘impractical’.
The BBC is equally detached from reality.
As a university sociologist, listening to the whining in the Lords, I cannot help but draw the conclusion that the very existence of this narcissistic, unelected, unaccountable chamber is a political corruption of democracy.“

Completely correct.
One of the worst abusers of the House of Lords system is “Lord” Alf Dubs, a half-Jew whose (Jewish) father fled from Prague in 1938, leaving behind his (Austrian) wife and his son (they arrived in London a year later).
Alf Dubs, Labour MP for 8 years before later joining the misnamed “Lords”, was (maybe still is) a cheeky freeloader and expenses cheat (by any other name):
“Dubs lists his main home as a cottage in the Lake District in Cumbria, which enabled him to claim over £26,000 of overnight subsistence expenses in 2007–08,[15][16] although he has lived in Notting Hill, London, since 1964. In May 2009, he argued in justification that Lords regard the overnight allowance as a payment in lieu of salary. “We are the only legislators in the world that don’t get paid,” he said. “The overnight thing is quite generous because it compensates for not having a salary. In practice that’s how it works.“
[Wikipedia]
That was 15+ years ago. I wonder how much the old fraud drags down these days while trying to import as many migrant-invaders as possible to batten upon the British people who, generously but wrongheadedly, gave him and his parents refuge in 1938 and 1939?
“A 98-YEAR-OLD war veteran who is battling cancer has been evicted from his bungalow and is now homeless.
Alfred Guenigault, who served in World War Two as a paratrooper, was issued with a no-fault eviction notice two months ago by the landlord of the Ferndown bungalow he has lived in for the past seven years.
He is now living in St Gabriels hostel in Verwood with his daughter Deb Dean and her husband Bert and says he feels “terrible” about the situation..
The great-grandfather-of-six-fears he will not be able to see his grandchildren from his new residence.
The family was forced to pack up their belongings and leave Ferndown on Thursday afternoon.
They turned to the council for help, which told them to go to First Point, a Dorset-based support service.
Deb said: “They were amazing and helped us so much with the forms and explaining things and told us we were eligible for a bungalow.
“They said there is a duty to house us temporarily, which we understand, but we didn’t think it would be in a hostel.”
Deb said the one room provided for them is empty, with no beds, apart from one provided by the hospital for the veteran, and has a shared kitchen and bathroom.
He also won’t be able to see any of his church friends who come over to see him or the vicar as well; his life is here in Ferndown.
Deb, a pensioner herself, lives with her father as his full-time carer while he battles cancer and severe kidney disease and said the situation is “very unfair” on her dad in his final years.
She added: “Dad has his carers in three to four times a day and I have to be with him 24 hours a day but because I recently became a pensioner, they have stopped my carer’s allowance which is about £700.
“We are told we will be in a hostel for six to eight months and it’s very unfair on him.
“My concern is that in six months, he may not even be here anymore.”
Mr Guenigault, who has been awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honour by the French government, said: “None of my grandchildren will be able to stay in the hostel. I feel terrible, but mostly for Deb.
“I also have to change my doctor, who is brilliant, as it is outside the area, but I don’t want to do that.”
A spokesman for Dorset Council said the authority will work with the family to find suitable accommodation in “as short a timescale as possible” but that they “need to be realistic about what is achievable in the current climate”.
“The council takes the Military Covenant very seriously and has a former veteran working within the team so really do appreciate the sacrifice our veterans make.”
Secondly, that landlord (a buy-to-let parasite?) is a prime subject for “naming and shaming”, if there ever was one.
Thirdly, how unjust that the old man’s daughter is now deprived of her Carer’s Allowance just because she has now become eligible for a slightly higher weekly amount by way of State Pension.
Fourthly, there would at least be decent alternative accommodation available for people like this were Britain not flooded with millions of black and brown migrant-invaders and other immigrants (“other” including about 150,000 bloody Ukrainians alone since last year).
Lastly, note the meaningless weaselling by the local council about the “Military Covenant” brought in by the government of David Cameron-Levita. Just lip-service. Useless.
At some point, Britain will explode, one way or another. This whole situation is unsustainable, and insupportable.
A final thought on this: is there no ex-members’ welfare organization attached to the Parachute Regiment that might help?

I recall that Michael Palin, about 18 years ago, in Michael Palin’s New Europe, sympathetically interviewed both Yulia Tymoshenko (at the time, Prime Minister of Ukraine) and her then very attractive daughter, who was about 25 and was a former student at the LSE and, according to Wikipedia, Rugby School (I had thought Cheltenham Ladies’ College; maybe I mixed her up with someone else).
At that time, Eugenia Tymoshenko was married to an Englishman called Sean Carr, a rock music singer, who was then in his late thirties. He was also featured on Palin’s show. A bearded motorcyclist. The couple divorced about five years later.
Since Palin did his TV show, Yulia Tymoshenko has been convicted of corruption etc, been imprisoned, appealed, been released, and is now an MP again, and the leader of a political party. Her daughter has remarried and has a high profile but is not a politician, and the English (I think Yorkshire) rock music person, Sean Carr, died in 2018 at the relatively early age of 49 or 50.

Second tweet not entirely accurate. While it is true that GCHQ was established under that name only in 1946, it seamlessly took over the similar though (in the pre-1939 era) much smaller org known as the Government Code & Cypher School, which operated from a number of places between the two world wars, one being a station or outstation located in the Dog Kennel Hill (East Dulwich borders) and Denmark Hill border of South London. That base, not mentioned in the Wikipedia entry below, was active certainly until the late 1980s, though I think not used by GCHQ (possibly by MI5 or other org ) at that time. For all I know, it may still be in use, if not turned into a housing development as has been almost everything else in Southern England.
