Well worth reposting, even 5+ years on.

Giles Anthony Fraser (born 27 November 1964)[3] is an English Anglican priest, journalist and broadcaster who has served as Vicar of St Anne’s Church, Kew, since 2022.[4] He is a regular contributor to Thought for the Day and The Guardian and a panellist on The Moral Maze, as well as an assistant editor of UnHerd.

Fraser was born to a Jewish father and a Christian mother and was circumcised according to Jewish tradition.[5]

Fraser…has lectured on moral leadership for the British Army at the Defence Academy at Shrivenham.

On 16 January 2016, Fraser announced his engagement to Lynn Tandler, an Israeli Jew,[23] who is a weaver and academic researcher.[24] They were married on 13 February 2016.[2][non-primary source needed] Their son was born in November of the same year.[25]

Both my Jewish children have been circumcised. They are being brought up in a bilingual family โ€“ where Hebrew is spoken at home, despite my struggling with it. My two year old chats with his grandmother on the phone most days in broken Hebrew. Both are being regularly taken to Israel. The Rabbi of the schul in Golders Green โ€“ where my fatherโ€™s family (all Jewish) were seat-holders โ€“ has been extremely welcoming...”

DNA is ingrained. People can change their views, but not their DNA.

The modern “bread and circuses”.

I recall seeing the Australian TV series Skippy the Bush Kangaroo a few times after my family moved to Sydney in 1967 (I was 10 at the time). The show was on TV from early 1968.

TV shows and films such as Skippy may seem like sentimental rubbish to some people, and to some extent they may be, but there are innumerable examples of the intelligence and capabilities of our animal friends. Some such stories become famous, others are either unknown or are known only to the few people directly involved.

Something of the sort will eventually have to come to the UK.

Interesting. I have been to Famagusta (now in Turkish-ruled Northern Cyprus), but some years ago, in fact many years ago— January 2000. I did not see the ruins of the Varosha resort, though. That is a mile south of the main town, I think.

When I drove to Famagusta (from Kyrenia), the ruins of its ancient heritage were deserted. My then girlfriend and I were alone there. There were not even any people selling postcards or the like. Even the more modern parts of the town were far from busy. That was 24 years ago, though. Things change, of course. I think that there has been quite a lot of development in some areas.

I rather liked Northern Cyprus. Relaxed and, in 2000 at least, with relatively few tourists, and really none once you left Kyrenia (officially, now, Girne). A little cold at night (in January) but warm-ish during the day, usually, and with numerous interesting ancient sites (which one shared with no other people at all) set amid orange groves. I even had a rather bracing swim off a deserted beach, but it was no colder in the water than it is in the UK in summer, and the sun was shining.

I drove one day from Kyrenia right the way down the Karpas Peninsula [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karpas_Peninsula] to the eastern end. At that point, you are only 60 miles across the Eastern Mediterranean from Latakia in Syria.

General Election 2024— Clacton

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/08/tories-clacton-voters-nigel-farage-reform

In a straw poll of veterans, Farageโ€™s campaign message seemed to be getting through.

Jason Stewart was in a green beret and a biker jacket studded with medals; after a long career in the Royal Marines, he โ€œthought it was time to get out after I was blown up twice in one day in Afghanistanโ€.

He offers a version of an argument heard all day. โ€œThe two main parties look both the same to me,โ€ he says. โ€œThe Tories donโ€™t care about us. And Labour say they will reopen prosecutions of soldiers who served [in the Troubles] so thatโ€™s a no-no. Farage and Reform seem like the only option.”

Up the road, meanwhile, opposite McDonaldโ€™s, there was an alternative display of army jeeps and vehicles alongside veterans in fatigues. The display was organised by David Bye and his partner, Linda Hazelton, who run a charity delivering homemade pie and mash to needy veterans around the town. Bye had a one-to-one chat with Farage when he visited and claims he was given certain commitments, which will remain between them.

He grew up here; he remembers earning pocket money as a kid running tourist luggage down busy streets to Butlinโ€™s. Itโ€™s been a long decline, he says, since the holiday camp went. โ€œI thought Iโ€™d seen it all,โ€ he says. โ€œBut the other morning I saw a long queue of blokes on bikes waiting for McDonaldโ€™s to open. They were collecting takeaways for people who couldnโ€™t be bothered to make breakfast for their kids.

โ€œI donโ€™t know where you start with some of that,โ€ he suggests. โ€œBut I think Nigel gets it.

The place holds symbolic relevance to Farage. Exactly a decade ago, under his Ukip brand, a meeting here paved the way for that partyโ€™s only Westminster election success, for Douglas Carswell. If you were to define the moment that Brexit became a possibility, and then a reality, you might begin there. Nine hundred people showed up, many of whom had not previously taken any interest in national politics. In the course of their populist pitch, Carswell and Farage quoted liberally from a Times newspaper column the previous week written by Matthew Parris.

Looking back at that column a decade on, you can see in it all the faultlines that were exposed and exploited so cynically by Farage and Brexit, the roots of the crisis that threatens to destroy the Conservative party in this election (a humiliation from which Farage, inevitably, hopes to benefit).

Parris, in his waspish style, on a visit to Clacton in 2014, had declared its irrelevance to modern Conservatism: โ€œThis is tracksuit-and-trainers Britain, tattoo-parlour Britain, all-our-yesterdays Britain,โ€ he wrote. He asked his party a question which would now get a very different answer: โ€œIs this where the Conservative party wants to be? [Or] do we need to be with the Britain that can admire immigrants and want them with us, that doesnโ€™t want to spend its days buying scratchcards?โ€

Parris insisted that he was not โ€œarguing that we should be careless of the needs of struggling people and places such as Clacton. But I am arguing โ€“ if I am honest โ€“ that we should be careless of their opinions.

Farage could not have scripted a better scene for himself than the spectacle of a Tory prime minister leaving the D-day celebrations early. Tragically, as this week is proving, the forces that made his bleak and divisive message relevant in 2014 have not gone away, and in the weeks to come you suspect that Westminster political parties will still ignore Clacton at their peril.”

[The Guardian].

Not once does the full article mention the fact that the person presently posing as PM is “unelected” (at least, unvalidated by a General Election) and a little Indian money-juggler; but there you are…”The Guardian”…

Interesting, though, all the same. I think that Farage has every chance of being elected at Clacton. The only reason that the Conservative Party candidate Giles Watling (MP since 2017, a long-retired actor, and a member of the Garrick Club, who lives at Frinton, the more expensive part of the constituency) got over 70% of the vote in 2019 is because his political stance is akin to that of UKIP/Brexit Party/Reform UK anyway.

Watling came second, behind ex-Conservative Douglas Carswell (for UKIP) both at the 2014 by-election and the 2015 General Election, and only won in 2017 because Carswell stood down. Having said that, Watling did get 36.7% in 2015, only about 8 points behind Carswell.

While the election at Clacton might yet be close, Farage has every chance now. Labour and other parties are spectators at Clacton. Labour’s best was 25.4% (in 2017, when the Cons got over 60%).

Interestingly, that 2017 Labour candidate, Natasha Osben, is now, in 2024, the Green Party candidate. Starmer is really not very popular even within the Labour —or recently Labour— ranks.

Will Labour voters vote tactically? If so, for Reform UK or for the Conservative Party? My money is on Reform UK.

Tactical voting

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/08/i-want-labour-to-come-into-power-so-im-voting-lib-dem-tactical-voting-threatens-blue-wall-tories

Alarmingly for Conservative HQ, many polling experts believe the conditions are ripe for a repeat of 1997, when tactical voting benefited Labour and the Lib Dems and cost the Tories dozens of seats, most notably the toppling of Michael Portillo in Enfield Southgate. This time, Shapps is among the big beasts who could suffer their own polling night infamy.

Tactical efforts came to little at the last election. Hopes among pro-Remain campaigners of an anti-Brexit tactical vote were dashed as Boris Johnson won an 80-strong majority. But conditions have changed. Peter Kellner, the veteran pollster, wrote in the Observer before the 1997 election that while he detected little โ€œpositive enthusiasmโ€ for Labour, an electorate with โ€œa burning desire to end 18 years of Tory ruleโ€ made for receptive tactical voting conditions. He believes similar ingredients are present today.

While the net effects of tactical voting are hard to calculate, the Liberal Democrats could gain 10-20 extra seats through anti-Conservative tactical voting, according to an analysis by the Electoral Calculus consultancy. Meanwhile, with the added help of Nigel Farage and Reform UK, the tactical dynamic could push Labour closer in another swathe of previously safe Tory seats.

Conservative losses

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/08/from-humiliation-to-annihilation-could-this-election-mean-the-end-of-the-tory-party-as-we-know-it

Writing in the Observer, Rob Ford, a leading expert on voting intention and trends, says the evidence from polls shows that โ€œan electoral asteroid is streaking through the atmosphereโ€ and is heading for the Tory heartlands. Ford no longer thinks it impossible that the Conservatives could end up with less than 100 seats, so badly is their campaign misfiring and so much trust have they lost over 14 years and the tenures of five prime ministers.

Other polling experts say that such is the geographical spread of the Tory vote, and the brutal nature of the first past the post system, that once their vote drops into the low 20% region, the number of seats could fall into double digits โ€“ and could go as low as 20.

[Observer/Guardian]

I have speculated for quite a while that the Con vote might go low enough nationwide to leave the Cons with as few as 50 MPs. Perhaps I was right (I sometimes am…).

Quite right.

Entitled self-seeking political hog Emily Thornberry, who only became “Labour” in the first place after her highly-paid UN-working father deserted her and her mother, abandoning his wife and daughter, and resulting in their having to relocate to a council house. She is motivated by malice and early spite and/or envy.

Emily Thornberry and her husband (a retired High Court judge) are buy-to-let parasites, incidentally; I believe that I read that they own, or used to own, at least 8 buy-to-let properties. Pro-Israel, too.

[Emily Thornberry and husband with the then Israeli Ambassador to the UK, Mark Regev, at a Zionist banquet in London]

The Conservative Party now deserves to be not only removed from government, and preferably entirely wiped out, but do not imagine that fake “Labour” will be much if at all better. Look at its leaders and major influencers: Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves, Yvette Cooper, Liz Kendall. All members of Labour Friends of Israel. All self-seeking moneygrubbers too.

David Lammy, that ignorant creature, as well.

That thick creature might be Foreign Secretary soon. Poor Britain…

Another Labour Friends of Israel member.

Emily Thornberry slightly reminds me of Mrs Mossberg, a fat, short and jolly Jewish primary school teacher, usually —in my memory— dressed in a long dark-brown mink coat; I knew her circa 1962, when about 5 or 6 years old and a pupil at Caversham Primary School near Reading. Mrs Mossberg, though, was far more pleasant than Emily Thornberry seems to be.

In retrospect, I wonder why Mrs Mossberg ever bothered to be a teacher, which I doubt paid much. She lived not far from my family, a few roads away, in a large detached house. The main reception room, which I saw at least once, seemed enormous to the 5-y-o me, and it had a large grand piano in it. Maybe she just enjoyed teaching.

The last tweeter says that Emily Thornberry owns 4 properties; I thought I read 8 somewhere.

Elite“, though, seems the wrong word to describe that bunch of clowns.

Reminiscent of the last recruits of the Volkssturm in 1945…

[Volkssturm, Berlin, 1945; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkssturm]

In fact, the Volkssturm recruits above look both younger and healthier than those Kiev-regime “volunteers” or pressganged recruits.

Well, I cannot read Hebrew, and there is no translation, so I have no idea what the untermensch may have written in relation to his vandalism of that family’s house.

From what little one hears or reads, some of the chiefs or former chiefs of Israeli Intelligence (MOSSAD, Shin Beth, Aman etc) are also not optimistic about Israel’s long-term or even medium-term survival.

Conservatives face election wipeout with Labour set to gain a 416 majority that could see Rishi Sunak LOSING his seat and the Tories being left with just 39 MPs, shock Mail on Sunday poll reveals.”

[Daily Mail]

If that turns out to be correct on 4 July 2024, I will have been proven correct, and the “experts” and “specialists” (who have been saying 100-200 Con MPs left post-GE 2024) would be wrong (again)…

Also true, arguably. About the same, I should say.

The first tweet confirms what I have been blogging re. Clacton. It is between Reform UK (Farage) and the Cons (Giles Watling). Labour has no chance at all, but Labour voters in Clacton can be the kingmakers. Their votes can swing it, either for Reform or for the Cons.

Even if the second tweet is accurate, and it may not be, voters can still give the Cons a mighty and historic kick by voting Reform UK and thus preventing the Conservative Party from thriving, or even surviving.

The very fact that such a grassroots campaign is even necessary shows how sick society has become.

Refers to Robert Largan, the Israel-puppet and Jewish-lobby puppet who is desperately trying to keep his Commons seat at High Peak (Derbyshire), with its good pay and better expenses and perks, but he really has no chance. Make him get a real job.

High Peak voters should vote either Reform UK or Labour to get rid of Largan.

“Pound of flesh” news

The (((usual suspects))) are baying for blood, as always.

Don’t expect any mercy from “them”. They are not European and have a very different historical and genetic background to us.

As to the case itself, in 1945 the present defendant was 23 or 24. His duty was, apparently, to stand in a watch-tower for a certain number of hours per day. Now the Jew-Zionist-dominated “German” state is putting him on trial at the age of 100.

Should the American sentries at the gates of Los Alamos in 1944 or 1945 be put on trial because they “facilitated” the dropping of the atom bombs on Japan, and so “helped” to kill hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians? No? Why not, on this basis?

Basically true, though the exact figure for casualties in Dresden is still disputed, and may have been “only” 200,000, possibly as “low” as 25,000. WW2 statistics are frequently open to question (though the Dresden bombing and firestorm did at least take place, unlike the gassings in the mythical “gas chambers” etc).

Another and longer film about American rustbelt city, Gary (Indiana).

Interesting. In the Soviet Union, there were many (State-owned, of course) “company towns”, mostly founded under Stalin. Such industrial areas were part of a huge organized system, the [economic] Plan for a country 92x the size of the UK, and encompassing 11 time zones. A machine where each component was dependent on all other parts working.

When the Soviet system fell apart, many such cities all but collapsed, dependent as they were one one single plant or factory which found itself unable to sell products or to buy raw materials.

The industrial plant usually provided everything: transport, medical services, schools, and more. When the plant closed, the “social infrastructure” lost all funding. The result has been, over the past 30 years, population loss and, not infrequently, cities becoming abandoned areas.

Diary Blog, 11 June 2021, including thoughts about politicization of charities, and about the Maya Forstater case

The charity sector— a “rotten borough”

Sadly, the charity sector has, over decades, developed into a “rotten borough”. There have been so many scandals. Oxfam alone has had many. Legal and political scandals around “charitable status”; sex scandals; money-related scandals. Why?

I believe that, looking at the larger charities, the basic problem is one of focus, going back to those recruited.

There was always a “campaigning” aspect to many of these charities, inasmuch as many of them have always regarded it as part of their remit to campaign for changes in the law, or changes in public behaviour. Examples would include the Salvation Army, and the League Against Cruel Sports, to name but two.

There is inevitably a grey area between such “political” or socio-political campaigning, and outright politicking. This came to a head in the 1980s when it emerged that Oxfam was spending huge amounts of money (money mainly donated by well-meaning members of the public) not only on direct alleviation of poverty in Africa (etc), and not even on effective but indirect poverty-alleviation (eg supporting schools in Africa), but on political propaganda such as anti-apartheid stuff (the false narrative being that poverty in Africa as a whole was somehow caused by apartheid in South Africa, despite the fact that the Africans in South Africa were often better off than Africans in other African states).

In fact, the now nearly 30 years of (notional) black African rule in South Africa have proven that apartheid was not the only or even main factor holding back 99.9% of South African blacks. The new South Africa has quite as much inequality of capital and income as the old South Africa, together with rocketing crime and corruption. All that and virtue-signalling too!

In the UK charity/NGO sector, there have been all the scandals around money and sex, such as at Save The Children, where the head of the organization was getting about ยฃ400,000 a year, and where his cronies at the top were getting ยฃ200,000 or more, one such crony being the sex-pest Brendan Cox, the then husband of Labour Party MP Jo Cox (who was assassinated in 2016).

The roots of these problems go back to the kind of people recruited. Typical of our age: virtue-signalling “woke” hypocrites, but who are also very interested in money.

There is, also, a persistent problem with many charity staff, at the higher (careerist) levels, being anti-white, meaning anti-European race and culture.

The Maya Forstater case https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_Forstater_v_Centre_for_Global_Development

Good grief! Incredible that there are still some people who have not woken up to the idiocy of “Boris”.

Khrushchev, in his memoirs, criticized Malenkov as a “filing clerk” and said that that was the worst kind of person to have power given to him. In our society, in the UK of 2021, we have given power to chancers such as “Boris” and little Matt Hancock, but in reality to those behind them, such as the narrowminded medical and statistics zealots of “SAGE” (aka “DUMB”, the Department Under Matt and Boris). Not to mention types such as Dominic Cummings. Result? Misery…

Of course, The Handmaid’s Tale is fiction, literary fantasy, but reflective of a outline of possible future reality, just as The Protocols of Zion are literary fantasy yet in a sense “true”, in that they clothe the reality which is coming to pass via, inter alia, NWO, ZOG, the “Black Lives Matter” nonsense, the “Covid-19” “situation” etc.

Incidentally, I see that Martin Daubney’s clip shows Vauxhall Underground Station. I wonder how many, if any (?) SIS staff who use that station, and are not asleep, and see what “British” society now is, have any reservations about defending it?

Sadly, many British people are now scared rabbits, wearing bloody facemasks even in the open air, even when walking alone. That applies particularly to the older population; as to the younger, “woke virtue-signalling idiots” covers many of them. I expect no revolt from the majority, just frightened compliance, maybe with more “North Korea-lite” clapping on command…

Now let’s protect views on other socio-political and historical matters…

When Reality Becomes Subjective

It has always been accepted that, while subjective views of the world mean that reality may differ for different people, there exists, beyond the subjective reality, an objective reality, most of the time at least. Certain things were to be accepted, by all but the insane, as objectively true or real, and other things were regarded as untrue or unreal. Real included measurement of time, age, race, sex, and a million other things. Unreal did not have to be defined but would include direct “untruths” such as two men dressed up as a pantomime horse. These were “two men dressed up as a pantomime horse” (i.e. true), but were not “a horse” (i.e. false, or untrue).

It was never suggested that two men should not dress up as a pantomime horse and pretend to play the part of a horse on stage —or, indeed, in the street—, simply that two men dressed up as a horse are not a horse! That remains true even were the two men to sincerely believe (e.g. if insane) that they really were a horse.

Now it is true that there might be grey areas, particularly as to the future: it was true, in 1902, to say that people could not fly in heavier-than-air machines; by 1904, the same statement was untrue. There are other obvious examples. “Britain has a huge empire.” True in 1914, 1918, 1939 and even in 1945, but today (2018) not true.

Have we now moved (in the “West”, mainly) to a situation where objective reality is taking a back seat? Wishful thinking (eg the middle-aged woman who thinks that she still looks young) has always existed, but now it is sufficient merely to assert your wish for it to be superficially taken as representing fact: the male person or (far more rare) unfortunate freak of birth who “identifies” or “self-identifies” as female. Not only is such a wish-turned-“fact” to be taken seriously today (in, say, the UK) but anyone saying that a man who has had “gender re-assignment” surgery is still not, in reality, a woman, is accused of being “a bigot” uttering “hate speech”.

So it is that feministic women (with whose outlook I myself generally have little in common) and indeed many other women, and who object to women having to share exclusive facilities such as sport changing rooms, bathrooms etc with so-called “trans-women” (which might mean, eg, young girls having to undress and shower alongside middleaged –and even surgically unchanged– men posing as women, in effect), have been labelled “TERFS“, meaning “Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists”; and all because the said “TERFS” are unwilling to accept as true an evident untruth.

In the Netherlands, a man of 69 wants to have his age “reclassified” officially as 49, apparently for reasons of vanity, though it has been suggested (see notes below) that in fact he is making a satirical “propaganda of the deed” attempt. All the same, how telling it is that some dimwits commenting actually support the idea that a citizen should be able simply to choose an age at whim. A moment’s thought can surely show that such an idea must lead to chaos in a developed society! Examples (scarcely necessary, surely? Perhaps they are, in an increasingly mad society…): someone of 50 wants to get the benefits available to pensioners, so “self-identifies” as a 70-y-o. Or someone aged 50 wants to be allowed to join an age-restricted-on-entry organization such as the Army, or the Boy Scouts. It’s all just so ridiculous.

Then we have the whole race question. Sometimes I can do nothing but shake my head at the mentality of those who believe or want to believe that, say, a Chinese born in London is “English” or at least “British” rather than Chinese, or that a Jew born in Paris is “French”. Even the hardcore multikulti dimwits and maniacs find it hard to go along with the corollary, i.e. that an ethnically English person born in Peking or Calcutta is thereby a “Chinese” or “Indian”! But of course now the individual can “self-identify” anyway, so that we have cases such as the mentally-disturbed (?) and certainly very odd woman who, in the swamps of American politically-correct academia, simply cosmetically changed her appearance to look a little like a light-skinned “African-American”, then built a whole minor academic career on how bad whites are and how oppressed blacks are in the USA; not that there is not at least some truth in that, but that is a big and complex question, not something black and white (no pun intended). She was exposed in the end, mainly because she had claimed to be partly-black and was not. That was a few years ago. Today, I wonder whether her plea that she was simply “self-identifying” would save her from disgrace.

Another case. Barack Obama. Obama’s mother was white (mainly British –English, Welsh, Scottish– and Irish, with some German and Swiss aspects), his father black African. In his days of political prominence, no-one in the msm wanted to think or speak of him other than as “black”, because his superficial articulacy meant that it “proved” that a “black” man could be suitable (as it at first appeared) to be President of the United States. I do not recall one instance of Obama described accurately as “America’s first mixed-race President”, but only as “America’s first black President”…

There is a whole academic milieu in which it is regarded as axiomatic that “race is a social construct”. Such people have effectively lost touch with reality, as have those who have apparently almost convinced themselves that the Romans were black!

It brings to mind the “Russian” Revolution, which was partly-Russian in its first upsurge in Spring 1917, but simply a Jewish Bolshevik coup d’etat in October 1917 (old calendar).

Updated to 2018, we still see in the UK and elsewhere the fiction that the Jew “oligarchs” who “stole Russia” in the early 1990s (Berezovsky, Abramovitch etc) are “Russians”!

In fact, there are numerous other examples of where people, including the highly –superficially– educated prefer implausible unreality to reality. One, widespread in the UK, is that the country (and Europe as a whole) can accept unlimited millions of immigrants without any diminution in employment, pay, State benefits, pensions, road and rail services, school accessibility, NHS service etc etc.

I have thought a little about where this strange and widespread distortion of reality might have originated. There is the shifting of the ground of reality caused by theoretical physics over the past century. Then there is, more concretely, the “black propaganda” of the two world wars: in WW1, the British atrocity stories (Belgian nuns raped, babies stuck on German bayonets, bodies rendered down to make soap etc). Most of those stories were “recycled” more cleverly in WW2, so that, even today, many of the simpler people in the UK still believe that Jews were made into soap, their hair used to stuff Wehrmacht greatcoats (oh, yes, the German Army loved to stuff its cold-weather clothing with unwashed and lice-ridden hair from Jews!), their skin made into lampshades or tanned into leather upholstery for armchairs… and that is before we even get to the fabled “gas chambers” or the Munchausen-like tales of Elie Wiesel, Irene Zisblatt and hundreds of other proven fakes. The cartoon below illustrates well the situation.

AliceHolohoax

The story about the Emperor’s new clothes has become everyday reality in the UK and across the “West”: fail to at least pretend to believe that the “holocaust” narrative is true in all its details and numbers etc, fail to offer lip service to racial “equality” (eg IQ averages etc), fail to agree that a surgically-altered man is a woman, fail to praise the migration-invasion of Europe, fail to believe that Jews are a wonderful benefit to every nation, and you may well be in serious trouble, especially if you have or need a job or profession. You may even (like Alison Chabloz) find yourself convicted and sentenced accordingly.

Another example is the way in which the basically undemocratic and indeed tyrannical EU matrix is supported by and beloved of millions of deluded people (who often think themselves some kind of intellectual elite) and who regard the EU as a liberal bastion, despite its refusal to honour popular voting, despite its mediaeval-style “holocaust” “denial” laws and its other repressions.

No wonder that the msm is not believed, politicians are not believed, “fake news” becomes a major factor.

In any event, there is no doubt that unreality and the worship of falsity is in the ascendant. Lies are exalted and that means that Evil is exalted. This can have but one outcome.

Afterword

The above does not purport to be a comprehensive listing of all the instances or situations where people prefer comforting lies (unreality) to the more bracing truth (reality). One might cite, though, to provide two connected examples, academic award inflation and UK university degrees. These are important topics.

Originally, England had but one University (Oxford, founded, in origo, 1096). Later, Cambridge (1209) and others were founded: St. Andrew’s (in Scotland, founded 1413) and (in Ireland), Trinity College, Dublin (1592). Further university expansion occurred in later centuries, particularly in the 19thC.

These expansions of university education were all driven by reality, the need to provide better-educated leaders and specialists in government, industry, science etc.

The next great university-education expansion occurred after WW2. The so-called “red brick” universities. Snobs or people concerned about standards (usually the former), such as Kingsley Amis, proclaimed that “more will mean worse”. There is still debate about that, but the old phrase “six of one and half a dozen of another” probably covers it.

Even at that stage, meaning the 1960s, university expansion in the UK was still partly driven by reality, the more complex post-WW2 society needing more people with high or higher levels of education. In fact, standards were still fairly high. Anyone who looks at the old “O” and “A” Level papers (and “S” Levels, a fortiori) from the 1950s and 1960s, even 1970s, then compares them to today’s equivalent papers can see that most UK school exams have, indisputably, become easier over the past 60 years.

The cracks in the university system which started to show in the 1960s widened thereafter. Tony Blair, the fount of so much badness in the UK, finally cracked the whole system open by allowing virtually any institution to call itself a “university” and to issue (mediaeval concept in any case) “degrees”. Now, pretty much any Tom, Dick or Sharon can get a “degree” at “uni” in some such subject as Hotels and Hospitality, Travel and Tourism, Gender Studies, Third World Studies etc. The more traditional subjects have also been dumbed-down hugely, so that about half the students now (since about 1997) “achieve” a “First”, and hardly anyone gets less than an Upper Second. As for getting a Third or a Pass degree, or even failing the exams, well, short of absenteeism or mental breakdown— impossible. Result? Degrees are now almost worthless and you only have to look at some Oxbridge graduates to see that the problem is not confined to those attending the less-prestigious institutions.

Still, most people like the unreality better than reality: students have an easier life and almost all “achieve” high marks, their teachers like the fact that they “achieve” such high numbers of high-achieving students, the institutions like the same, as does government. The statistics look great! Only thing is, this is largely unreality, a mirage.

Update, 23 November 2018

Below, a thread from Twitter which exposes the contemporary madness richly. For some of these lunatics (and I have seen nonsense of this sort on Twitter etc even from an NHS psychiatrist, one who espouses the “race is a social construct” garbage), reality does not exist except as a subjective wish-list. For them, if an African man of 70 wants to be a European woman of 30, then fine, that’s what he —sorry, “she”— is, and anyone dissenting is “guilty” of “hate speech” or “hate thought” (?) and must be punished. Even George Orwell could never have foreseen this!

Another aspect (again, see the thread…and read the whole thread by clicking on one of the tweets below) is that truth alone is not enough for many, but has to appeal to people via a kind of “support the self-styled victims” argument, as in “don’t discuss whether men can just decide that they are women, but discuss whether their doing that makes [real] women victims” (etc).

Update, 27 November 2018

The depths of the socio-political madness can be gauged by a look at some of the tweets above, such as the one directly above by tweeter [at time of writing called] “AnarchoCatgirl”. In the old joke, if she is interested, I believe that I can offer her London Bridge at a very reasonable price!

In fact, it is interesting that it is mostly the firmest feminists who have bridled at this whole “transpeople” nonsense and reality-distortion. Feminists may not know much (in some cases) but they do know what is a woman and what is not a woman:

Update, 16 December 2018

The madness continues. Sometimes I feel that the only way to deal with these and other issues in the UK will be “non-peaceful” somewhere not far down the line. It may or may not be so, but I myself feel it strongly. Does that mean that it is true?

More madness (see below):

Below: someone called Marc, on Twitter, tries to stand up for truth and logic but is criticized by trans-“woman” Tara Hewitt, a half-crazed creature from the UK North West who, years ago, trolled me on Twitter, and who, supporting Scameron and Osborne’s “austerity” nonsense-economics, wanted to become a “Conservative” MP, despite “her” risibly poor educational level…

More of Tara Hewitt’s nonsense…

Again…thank God this creature never got anywhere politically. She seems to be anti-Conservative Party now. Pass the sour grapes.

Update, 21 March 2019

More evidence that the UK police see their role not as traditional police (keeping the public safe, investigating real crime etc) but as being a kind of poundland KGB, “investigating” peoples’s opinions and then going on to repress freedom of expression, even travelling long distances to harass or intimidate people suspected of holding or expressing the “wrong” views about society…

Another example…

Seems that the police have no “shortage” of personnel or other “resources” when it comes to their playing at being a poundland KGB…

Update, 8 November 2019

The madness spreads to organizations such the the Girl Guides. Guides, Scouts, other charities (real or fake), you name it, they are all full, at higher levels, of termites who are traitors to society, evil killers of our future, Common Purpose conspirators etc:

https://twitter.com/SuzanneMc9/status/1191855900245540864?s=20

This is not “a victimless crime”, not merely a debate in an ivory tower. Think about the 6-y-o girl who has been abused and traumatized by some teenage nut because he, said nut, wants to identify as “she”. In the future, the Third Reich will have to be revisited.

Some of the “trans” people and extreme responses to those tweets are so off the wall that you wonder whether what is required is a psychiatrist or a machine-gun.
