I happened to drop by my local supermarket, a Waitrose outlet. I bought a few basic items (bread, coffee, water, tomato, banana, paw-paw etc) and then went to buy some Euromillions lottery tickets. The most recent opinion polls have predictions of Labour with as few as 40 or even 30 MPs after the next general election. If those polls are in any way accurate, it means that Labour, at present with 401 MPs, will lose 90% or more of present MPs. As many as 9 out of 10 Labour MPs, and maybe more, are staring down the barrel of defeat, and an end to their careerist dreams.
