I happened to drop by my local supermarket, a Waitrose outlet. I bought a few basic items (bread, coffee, water, tomato, banana, paw-paw etc) and then went to buy some Euromillions lottery tickets. Now that she has been released, there is no legal or constitutional bar on her standing for election as an MP.
It would just be brilliant were Lucy Connolly to stand against Yvette Cooper and win. I think it would be possible. Yvette Cooper got a 47.5% vote-share in 2024, with Reform in —fairly good— second place on 29.1%. The Con candidate was well behind on 15%. However, turnout was a mere 48.2%.
