Arabic might be considered the richest language in words based on its complexity. According to The National – the United Arab Emirates’ leading English-speaking news outlet – on average, a single written word in Arabic has three meanings, seven pronunciations and 12 interpretations.

Not merely a philological curiosity; it means that the meaning and/or intent of the Arab is not necessarily clear-cut.

True, the same word in English can have several meanings (some words can, that is), but I do not think that that is quite the same, mainly because, in English, the meaning is usually obvious from the context. Also, it applies to a relatively few words, not “the average“.

Something for the Arabists in the Foreign Office to consider, if they have not all been purged, and replaced by Zionists (which may well be the case, looking at UK representation in Ukraine and Israel in recent years).

A few years ago, I posted on the blog my experience, sometime around 1994 or 1995, of having visited the UK’s biological research laboratories at Porton Down, Wiltshire, in company with the then Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, who later became both an unsuccessful candidate for the Presidency of Ukraine and the director of a biological facility in Ukraine (he was a biochemist/microbiologist by training):

Reform UK

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/feb/02/reform-uk-can-win-scores-of-labour-seats-in-england-and-wales-says-study

Reform UK can win scores of Labour seats in England and Wales, says study.

Analysis of a mega poll shows Keir Starmer would lose more seats than Tories amid voter discontent with main parties.

Labour faces losing scores of seats to Reform UK across England and Wales as a widening section of voters lose faith in the mainstream parties, according to a new analysis seen by the Observer.

With senior figures in the Labour party now privately talking about a “change of era” in which more moderate voters are turning to Nigel Farage’s party, new research on Reform’s influence suggests it will take far more seats from Labour than from the Conservatives on current trends.

Reform would win 76 seats if an election were held now, according to a constituency-by-constituency model. Of those, 60 would be won from Labour, including seats across the “red wall”, as well as in Wales and across the south of England.

However, the analysis also reveals that even a relatively small further swing towards Reform from Labour could see the party pick up another 76 Labour-held seats.

The narrow Labour lead in many seats means it is susceptible in the event of a high turnout among Reform voters, a surge in Reform’s support, or a drop in Labour turnout.

The huge study, commissioned by the Hope Not Hate campaign group, has been carried out by the Focaldata polling company using a mega-poll, or MRP, made up of almost 18,000 voters.

Its analysis of almost 4,000 voters currently minded to back Reform found that one in five were “moderate, interventionist” voters who were unlike those who had backed Farage at the last election or supported Ukip or the Brexit party in the past.

[The Observer/Guardian]

So there it is. Reform could end up with 152 seats even on present polling and trending.

As frequently noted, Reform is part of the journey, not the ultimate destination, but this news, overall, is very good.

I only believe stock exchange speculators when they start jumping out of windows.

You may as well ban cars because a few lunatics deliberately or carelessly misuse them to hurt others. There must be literally billions of knives, even of the type(s) mentioned, in the UK.

Over the past few decades, the newspapers have gradually filled with idiots of the Tom Calver type, all trying to present themselves as “serious” commentators. Some, such as pro-Jewish lobby and pro-Israel expenses cheat, Michael Gove, even made it into government.

As for “celebrity” Idris Elba, is there “some chance” that he might be biased? I merely pose the question.

At last.

Look at the odd man out— the “Conservatives”. I think that they are in a death spiral.

Of course, the System MPs (rather than voters) will fight to keep FPTP, but proportional representation is an idea the time for which has finally arrived.

Looking at it another way, it is certainly the aged who still support FPTP, because they have grown up with it, are used to it and many of them are too stupid to see that its time has gone.

As is she…

That is more or less my view, too.

I wonder how many of those in charge are Jewish? In the USA, psychiatry and psychology are heavily-Jewish areas, but I do not know whether that is also the case in the UK.

“I spent the weekend in an act of ‘wild service’ helping to restore nature & maybe helping to heal some if the urban/rural divide.

In an event organised by @StEthelburgas & @letterstoearth_, a group of urbanites came together in the glorious welsh countryside to plant hedges & trees.

The method of planting 100’s of metres of hedges to connect up existing habitats (copses, ponds, areas of scrub etc) cleverly balanced allowing the land to be used for farming whilst giving more connected space for Nature.

The thing I wasn’t expecting though was crossing cultural divides. Witnessing some of the farmers on twitter & in the media who repeat culture war bait about hating both Nature & urbanites in the countryside had coloured my impression of farmers more generally. However, our host Dave was so kind & welcoming to his land & seemed genuinely touched that we had come out to help plant & restore; the jar of homemade honey he gave to each of us was a wonderful reward for a weekend well spent.

Trees add so much to a cityscape or suburb, not only to the countryside.

Just had a look at that Brooker person. Supports the malicious and mainly Jewish “Hope not Hate” cabal, U.S. Democrats, Jess Phillips etc. Oh, and “anti-racism”. Retweets likely State asset and faux-socialist Paul Mason. Seems unclear what, if anything, he knows about the environment (etc).

Sounds like a box-ticker (at best)…

National Carrot Cake Day

Carrot cake was introduced in the UK (or reintroduced, having been known from at least the 16thC, probably much earlier) on a large scale in the early 1940s days of food rationing, to use vast stocks of carrots (unrationed) in lieu of sugar. It then became popular, and has remained so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrot_cake.

LibDems, as usual, the “dustbin” or “cockroach” party, surviving and even thriving by reason of not being Con or Lab label…

Electoral Calculus suggests that those figures might mean Labour largest party (237 MPs), Reform UK second (148 MPs), Conservatives 125, LibDems 78, Greens 6. So Labour could form a weak minority government with LibDem and SNP (etc) support.

On those figures, the Con Party would not even be the official Opposition, thus weakening their shattered credibility further.

For Reform to be the largest party in terms of seats, its vote will have to increase to at least 27%, if not 28% or more. https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html.

Never mind that, say, a little girl born in the 21st century can hardly be blamed for the history of slavery. For Kendi, the mere fact of her genetic heritage is enough to damn her.

The second example is even more shocking. This is a chart produced in 2020 by the National Museum of African American History and Culture — part of the Smithsonian Institution, probably the most prestigious U.S. educational body of all.

The chart gives examples of ‘whiteness’ and ‘white culture’, which it clearly regards with disapproval. Sinister aspects of ‘white culture’ apparently include ‘hard work’, ‘self-reliance’, ‘the nuclear family’, ‘competition’, ‘delayed gratification’ and even ‘rigid time schedules’.

In just the first three weeks of this year, the NHS advertised for 19 ‘diversity and sustainability’ posts, with a combined salary of a cool £1 million. Indeed, in total the NHS in England alone employs an estimated 800 diversity and inclusion officers, costing a staggering £40 million a year.

My assessment of Macron, from about 4 years ago: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/01/09/on-recent-events-in-france/.

As I have blogged previously, for me there are two main issues that stand out: firstly, at some point (and as Elon Musk has mentioned), AI gets to the point whereby it takes over the reins of its own evolution, no longer requiring, or even permitting, human decision-making to control that; secondly, AI may become so pervasive that it becomes almost impossible for any individual human being, or for humanity as a group, to live without it.

That is already to a large extent so in relation to, inter alia, mobile telephones, online access, debit/credit cards etc. Yes, you can live without internet access, without a mobile telephone (I have not had one for many years), without debit or credit cards etc, but it gets harder every month to live “off-grid” in that way.

Once cash becomes a medium of exchange used only by the marginalized, and not used much in supermarkets, larger shops etc, the System/matrix will have almost power of life and death over citizens. Say or do something anti-System, or anti the System agenda, and your banking services will be cut off, and you will find it hard to continue your political life, hard to conduct any business or profession, hard even to buy food, in the end.

“Conspiracy theory”? No. A number of people, such as Laura Towler, Mark Collett, Sam Melia (all of Patriotic Alternative) have had exactly that happen to them in the past couple of years.

The sooner the Kiev regime runs out of arms, ammunition, and personnel, the better. Russia can take over Kiev and eastern Ukraine (east of the Dnieper) and start the work of rebuilding the damaged areas. Ukrainians (and Russians in Ukraine) live, in general, with lower living standards than Russians, certainly Russians from central or Baltic Russia (Moscow, Petersburg etc), and (as Putin has recently said) should be helped to a better standard of living.

Ukrainian police act as a press-gang, trying to force random and unwilling young men to become soldiers in Zelensky’s war.

Good to know that cultural institutions are being maintained and rebuilt.

Interesting. I have blogged a few times about the day in 1994 or 1995 (I think 1995) when I visited the partly-privatized but still heavily-guarded Porton Down biolab campus in Wiltshire, UK, with the then Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, a trained scientist who was later both a Presidential candidate and director of a biochemistry and biosecurity institute in Ukraine [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serhiy_Komisarenko].

Well, OK, but that old woman can express her views freely on the streets of (?) Moscow, and have them broadcast without repercussions. If she had been in Kiev, and had opposed the regime of the corrupt Jew Zelensky, she would probably, almost certainly, have been arrested; the interview would certainly not be broadcast or allowed to be put on social media. Everyone involved would be arrested.

So who is “brainwashed“? The Western msm is more or less brainwashing people in the UK, USA etc, though many are “thinking for themselves” and not supporting the war or the Kiev regime.

The Twitterati were all so shocked to find that there was a majority in favour of Brexit (meaning, mainly, in favour of stopping immigration), and that America voted Trump in 2016.

As I blogged yesterday, Jeremy Hunt seems to have a political cloth ear.

Goodwin’s tweet about “1950s” is not quite right though. “1940s” would be better. It is a linguistic point. The 1950s were when Britain began to exit from the terrible privation of the unnecessary war against the German Reich. The poverty of Britain was actually worse in the decade (and especially the 5 years) after the end of the war than it had been during that misconceived war. The decline in living standards during the war itself lurched lower in 1946, 1947 and did not improve, substantially, until about 1954 or 1955. The last remnants of WW2 rationing ended in 1955.

Incidentally, it is interesting to note that many poorer Brits actually had a better diet during WW2 rationing than they had had in the prewar 1930s.

Some of the (pro-immigration) replies to Goodwin’s tweet are unintentionally hilarious: idiots saying that the UK “needs” immigrants, that the UK is not “full” (despite housing covering more of our green fields daily), and one pro-invasion tweeter (one of the most vituperative) who lives on the Costa Tropical in Spain!

According to some tweets I saw, the decision was made by some black woman, by name Lorna Clarke: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/lorna-clarke-3a19b415. She, it seems, is actually the “BBC Director, Music” and formerly “Head of Rock and Pop“.

Education: Copenhagen Business School“…How odd.

That black woman who, on the face of it, knows little or nothing about serious music, made the decision. Even the Guardian has printed criticism of it: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/mar/14/classical-music-bbc-orchestras-singers.

How has this been allowed to happen? Early last year, the BBC’s music review recommended an extraordinary restructure. Alan Davey, the recently departed controller of BBC Radio 3 and the Proms, ceased to have direct responsibility for the classical ensembles that are now under the control of former head of rock and pop Lorna Clarke, while [Simon] Webb, the former director of the BBC Philharmonic, is the new head of orchestras and choirs in England.

The BBC’s timing is as calculated as its strategy is callous: ensembles struggling to recover from the pandemic, exhausted from keeping the show on the road throughout, three of the ensembles without a permanent director and all contractually gagged. There is not one single champion for classical music left at the BBC in any position of power or influence. Herod has been left minding the creche.

I no longer know if the BBC is a public service broadcaster; I don’t recognise it any more, or its values. If it no longer exists to do that which others cannot or will not, then what is it for? After 23 years of constant change, the ensembles of the BBC have never been more agile, flexible or willing to adapt, and they represent tremendous value for money in the grand scheme of the BBC’s budget and our licence-fee payment.

The role of cultural patron is not optional, and the responsibilities as custodian of music ensembles do not give the BBC permission to dispose of and dismantle them without serious public discussion, not to mention honest, transparent internal debate. The values and behaviour of what we are told repeatedly is “our BBC” must matter to all of us as much as the content.”

[Paul Hughes, in the Guardian]

Apart from the actual absurdity of having blacks and merely business-trained persons in positions of power in the cultural sphere, this damage goes right back to the 1990s, to John Birt [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Birt,_Baron_Birt] and Greg Dyke [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Dyke]. Those two, who knew and worked with each other, both had poor educational and —initial— work backgrounds, yet were allowed to take leading positions in British television and radio.

Thankfully, Wikipedia still has him, as of today, as the Russian he was: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilya_Repin.

Repin was born on 24 July 1844 in the town of Chuguev, in the Kharkov Governorate of the Russian Empire, in the heart of the historical region of Sloboda Ukraine.[10][11][12] His father, Yefim Vasilyevich Repin (1804—1894) served in an Uhlan Regiment of the Imperial Russian Army. He fought in the Russo-Persian War (1826–1828), the Russo-Turkish War (1828–29) and the Hungarian campaign (1849).

The SNP may have had its day in the sun, but it could reinvent itself if it became more social-national, opposed mass immigration and migration-invasion, binned non-whites/non-Brits such as Humza Yousaf as candidates and office-holders, and announced a policy of leaving NATO and closing down all RAF/USAF bases, as well as submarine bases, while asking Russia for closer relations. None of that will happen, of course.

https://www.gov.uk/home-education

https://ua.usembassy.gov/embassy/kyiv/sections-offices/defense-threat-reduction-office/biological-threat-reduction-program/

When I was still a practising barrister in London, I was trying, around 1995, to get funding and support for an EU-award-winning project to make fuel out of biomass (I called it “gold out of straw”). I approached, to that end, two embassies, the Ukrainian and the Cuban.

Both Ukraine and Cuba had large amounts of biomass normally burned or left to rot, the unwanted surplus from agriculture (in the case of Cuba, mostly sugar-cane, in the case of Ukraine from grain crops, mostly wheat). Both countries needed fuel. Also, both countries were replete with scientifically and technically-trained people.

The Cuban Embassy ignored my letter, i.e. were useless bastards who deserved to wither on the vine (as they have done since); the Ukrainian Embassy was more interested. I was invited to meet, at first briefly, the then Ambassador, at the Embassy, which was then in Notting Hill (somewhere in the Holland Park area now).

The Ambassador, a Mr. Komissarenko, who now has his own Wikipedia page [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serhiy_Komisarenko] turned out, by lucky chance, to be a biochemist by training. He was a rather charismatic character (a former Deputy Prime Minister, who even had Presidential aspirations), and was very interested in visiting the British biological research (and “germ warfare”) laboratories at Porton Down, Wiltshire, which (partly-privatized) was the location of the lab and offices of the “gold out of straw” project.

A week or so later, I travelled with the Ambassador, his Scientific Attache, and a driver, to Porton Down. His driver, in a Lexus limousine, made the most of diplomatic immunity, running red lights from Notting Hill to outer London, then cruising at top speed down the A303. I thought that we must be going below the speed limit, so smooth and quiet was the ride, until I looked at the speedo— over 130 mph. We made Porton Down, on Salisbury Plain, a distance of about 90 miles, in about 40 minutes. Lexus make good cars.

After an initial hiccup at the sentry post, when the Ambassador, of all people, was not on the guards’ list, we entered the huge area, and the Ambassador was introduced to the main scientist on the Project, an elderly, gruff —and in fact hard to talk to— North Country boffin, Professor Someone-or-other, and the rest.

Anyway, an interesting day all in all, with a late pub lunch after we were checked out, and animated discussion between the Ukrainian and British or British-Iranian sides (one scientist, whom, with his brother and mother, I in fact knew personally, was one of a family that had fled Iran in the 1970s, the Ayatollahs’ regime having hanged the head of the family).

Porton Down is in a heavily military area. We were just starting to head back to London, down some country lane, when a British Army patrol, in full combat gear and camouflage cream, encountered us. The soldiers immediately went down on one knee. The officer then waved us on.

In the end, the project was at too early a stage for the Ukrainians. They wanted something more or less ready to begin producing on an industrial scale, so nothing came of it (and I missed out on what might have been a big fee). Still, interesting.

I saw some time ago from Wikipedia that Komissarenko was, perhaps still is, head of a biochemical institute in Ukraine. Ukraine seems to have a number of such institutes and laboratories. I wonder what they all do.

The Second World War was triggered when Germany invaded the territory of Poland (as did the Soviet Union), Britain and France having given Poland worthless guarantees that would be activated upon such invasion.

Britain and France could not save Poland from invasion, or be in any way involved in the matter, but those “guarantees” still meant that a world war was triggered.

In fact, without going into tiresome detail, the German invasion was partly the result of 20 years of Polish provocations.

Now we see, once again, Poland provoking matters, this time by having decided to supply Ukraine with fighter aircraft.

Many of Ukraine’s airfields are out of commission by reason of Russian attack. Will such aircraft now take off from and later land in Poland, having attacked Russian forces? What happens if Russian forces attack those bases in Poland? Poland is a NATO member now. Will NATO then take up arms against Russia?

This whole situation is in danger of sliding toward world war. Look at the deadheads in control in the UK, USA etc. I do not necessarily exclude Russia, not after this botched invasion that has trashed Russia’s reputation worldwide. The GRU and Russian Army need a profound reorganization.

Anything could now happen.
