I do not know much about Rod Stewart, but I get the impression that he is someone who does like to give someone a chance. Starmer-stein has had his chance, and continues to do things that make him and Labour either hated or held in contempt, or both.

It does not surprise me that Starmer-stein is morally corrupt, and the same goes for quite a few of his MPs (and the “Conservative” ones). What has slightly surprised me over several recent years (since about 2009, when I returned to live full-time in the UK) is how utterly clueless, totally ignorant, so many MPs are, including Cabinet ministers and, indeed, Prime Ministers (Starmer-stein, Liz Truss, Boris-idiot, Theresa May, Cameron-Levita, Sunak, even Gordon Brown).

I agree 100% with your assessment of the “education” young people have been receiving over the last 30 years, and it is not limited to the UK. It seems that the purpose of the actual system is “The more ignorant and stupid, the better”
If we add to the rubbish they are being taught at schools and universities, the awful effects of the TV and the media, the result could not be more depressing.
On the other hand, it is refreshing and very nice to see young people, like this sweet Flemish girl called Emmelie, who care for and love classical European literature. She must be in her early twenties, and her command of the English and French languages, together with her attitude, is admirable.

Shocking, but not surprising. I have heard of similar horrors here in Argentina. Having said that, the teachers should be held responsible. Most of them are pretty ignorant and/or do not care about their pupils. If I were 30 years younger and had children, I would educate them at home.

Not so sure about your electric cars point. Not at all “green” in terms of their production, or disposal, and at present not as useful as ordinary cars (I suppose I should admit that my own old, but very good condition, vehicle is a large diesel SUV…).

Admittedly, their production leaves a lot to be desired from an enviromental point of view but with newer types of very advanced batteries coming on stream soon that will not be the case so much. They do not emit as bad emissions as petrol cars and they make less noise and excessive noise production is one of the worst aspects of petrol cars/trucks/busses ect.
