Of course, until 1948 Palestine was under British (international Mandate) rule, but as soon as Israel was proclaimed as a state, there began the mass killings, ethnic cleansing etc known as the Nakba. Seizure of land, houses, and apartments from Palestinian Arabs by Jews. It still continues, though more gradually. My guess is they’re trying to link up Gaza with the West Bank and cut off southern Israel. Combine Gaza, southern Israel and the West Bank into a Palestinian state. With pressure from Hezbollah from the north and anyone else who joins in they might pull it off.

Gaza is effectively an open prison. A loose comparison, but fairly accurate. At a push of a button, the Israelis, i.e. Jews, can cut off water, food, electricity, medical supplies etc, and have done so now.
In the short term, militarily, the Palestinian Arabs cannot win, but in the longer term, looking at demographics etc, they can scarcely lose.
