Saturday quiz

Well, this week I achieved 6/10, thus just beating political journalist John Rentoul, who scored 5/10. I did not know the answers to questions 3, 5, 8, and 9.

I was actually not quite sure about question 4, but against that I got question 1 right despite the fact that the question is itself flawed (the book in question was published in the late 17th Century, not 18th…).

BBC

It has only now come to my attention that the Chairman of the BBC (since February 2021) is one Richard Sharp, a Jew (or possibly half-Jew), who was previously an international banker worth several hundred million pounds, and who has given £400,000 to the Conservative Party.

Incidentally, Sharp’s sister, Victoria Sharp, is President of the King’s Bench Division of the High Court, and a former Lady Justice of Appeal.

Well, there it is, in plain sight. A new wave of non-white migration-invasion (inc. Albanian, which is non-white, in effect), given the green light by Britain’s first non-white prime minister.

The Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan in action. See http://adam.curry.com/art/1543753587_mkXBrvrY.html; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalergi_Plan.

The Plan is no “conspiracy theory”. Just look around you, especially if you live in a city and/or are over 40+ years of age (and so able to recall the 1960s and/or 1970s to compare).

Brilliant. Maybe I shall apply to have my old Twitter account restored, with “blue tick”. First target…well, we shall see. A pack of malicious Jews around the fake “charity”, “Campaign Against Antisemitism” or “CAA”, conspired to have it removed in 2018.

The idea that the NHS was somehow wonderful before 2010 or 2012 is just silly. I can recall seeing (as an almost daily visitor to a hospital, though not as patient) some appalling service and attitudes (as well as the opposite, and as well as surgical excellence) during the period 2012-2015, from only about 18 months after the 2010 General Election. It takes longer than 18 months for either positive or negative trends to develop in such a huge organization.

It is clear that maladministration is a major problem in the NHS, perhaps the major problem.

Asks only for a donation to a worthy charity”? Ha ha. What a “mug” tweeter “@SteveChev1” must be. 643 other mugs are each sending “Jack Monroe” between £3.50 and £44 each month via the Patreon website, and not even getting the various bits and pieces promised; they are thus sustaining the not-uncomfortable lifestyle of the “Bootstrap Cook”. Somewhere between £2,500 and £30,000 each month.

Sadly, most people prefer the comforting lies, whether re. race, culture, Ukraine, migration-invasion, the “Covid” “panicdemic”, “Jack Monroe”/”Bootstrap Cook”, the war against the German Reich, or whatever.

That tweet by tweeter “@360Raygun” is not as silly as it may seem to many.

There is nothing wrong with the principle(s) behind the NHS, but the system is just not working or properly working now, and simply increasing the pay of nurses, doctors and others (not that I oppose that) will not help in the slightest, because the administrative system is broken, from the top down.

I had certainly heard of “Jack Monroe”, the “Bootstrap Cook”, but never of “LadBaby”. Just looked him up on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LadBaby. Seems to be a typical UK-in-2022 waste of space, making a living by posting rubbish online.

As for “Jack Monroe”, I have blogged about her: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2022/09/30/diary-blog-30-september-2022-including-an-assessment-of-jack-monroe-aka-the-bootstrap-cook/.

Exactly my opinion. I may be wrong, but it seemed to me some time ago that many of those Twitter accounts saying “let’s all send money to ‘Jack Monroe’” were actually…Jack Monroe herself priming the pump.

Of course, if it were to transpire that “Jack Monroe” has and/or had other Twitter accounts which encouraged people to donate money or sign up to Patreon etc, then that might well be taken to be evidence tending to prove that “Jack Monroe” had fraudulent intent from, if not the start of her activities, then anyway for some years.

Exactly like the “Bootstrap Cook” stuff: carbohydrate-heavy food, with few vitamins or minerals. This type of food, if not supplemented, leads to public health problems down the line.

Ha ha…

However justified the NHS strikes may be from the employees’ point of view, the fact is that to leave people helpless and suffering is just very wrong, to say the least. Public sympathy for hospital staff will quickly evaporate, especially after 2+ years of unnecessary “panicdemic” measures, facemask nonsense, NHS non-service etc.

The population of the Earth should be reduced to about a tenth of its present aggregate number, but there is no need to reduce the white Northern European population. On the contrary.

Only the influence of the (((you know who))), and importation of millions of non-whites.

Whatever the causes, the fact is that the NHS is providing a service which is increasingly worse (just like the police, the legal system overall, and almost everything else).

Migration-invasion.

Christmas University Challenge

Watched Christmas University Challenge. Two teams of alumni, all now prominent and even famous. Birkbeck (London) and Portsmouth (a former polytechnic).

Neither team was much good. The Portsmouth team (three out of four were non-white) knew almost nothing, or at least very little about anything. The Birkbeck team were better (and won) but were also pretty poor all the same.

The captain of the Birkbeck team was the prolific tweeter, political activist and tax barrister, Jo Maugham, also notorious for having bludgeoned a fox to death: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolyon_Maugham.

What struck me were several aspects to Maugham’s appearance on the show: first of all, his Michael Portillo-like horrible pink jacket but, more relevantly, perhaps, his incredible ignorance (admittedly not much worse than the rest of his team).

What struck me also was the way in which, whenever Maugham got a question wrong (which was most of the time), he threw his head back and laughed as if he had just done something very clever.

Well, I am not in the sort of financial position where I need a tax barrister, but if I did need one, I have to say that I would look elsewhere (though I have no reason to doubt Maugham’s narrow professional expertise; I just disliked the look of him).

Another odd thing about Maugham was his oddly-fruity or “plummy” English accent, unexpected in someone brought up until his late teens in New Zealand. Like a character in an Agatha Christie adaptation.

If Birkbeck were a poor team, they still won easily over Portsmouth.

It may be immodest to say so, but a team composed only of me and my wife would beat both of those teams together, and without any difficulty whatsoever.

Actually, all the quiz shows are increasingly dumbed-down. Mastermind now has questions which are often embarrassingly easy. The main University Challenge show is better by far, but there are more too-easy questions even on that show than there once were. Sign of the times?

For once, I can agree with Piers Morgan.

Take away the fake titles from them, at least. She is a mulatta, who was previously married to a Californian Jew business parasite; “Harry” is as thick as two short planks, and mentally unstable. Both hate Europe’s peoples. Reduce their pretensions to rubble.

Constitutionally moot, but I take that tweeter’s point.

I assessed Therese Coffey a few years ago. I think that my assessment has held up pretty well: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/09/16/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-therese-coffey-story/.

The “role of Government” changes along with circumstances, or should do.

I do not know what I despise more about Therese Coffey— her callousness, or her stupidity (read my assessment above); perhaps even more than those, her sense of (completely unmerited) entitlement.

[Therese Coffey at play; such are the blots on humanity presently thought worthy to rule over the UK]

As Lenin said, “a revolution without firing squads is not worth much“.

Labour has no real answers to Britain’s problems, but this present government is just so useless that it would take a miracle to save it, looking at its deadhead ministers, about which the public is surely now fully aware.

In my opinion, using that situation (assuming that it is true) to deflect questions about the money she is alleged to have taken from vulnerable people, and in return for basically nothing. “Jack Monroe”/”Bootstrap Cook” has already tweeted (in order to fill up her Twitter timeline with supportive messages) about 1. polishing a copper kettle, and 2. her new hairstyle.

It seems to me that the “Bootstrap Cook” has been dropped by most of the msm now, but wants to hang on to those (as of today) 641 Patreon mugs, all paying her between £3.50 and £44 a month, every month.

The puzzle is why the mugs do it, now that the facts are becoming better-known.

I myself have no idea whether “Jack Monroe” is so mentally disturbed that she scarcely knows the truth from untruth, or whether she is consciously “pushing the envelope” quite often, and actually mocking her “patron”-mugs by making up ever-more outrageous untruths; examples would include pretending to have been involved in investigating the Grenfell Tower fire, and boiling down soap to make shower gel and so (supposedly) save money.

Some of the group’s members had made ‘concrete preparations’ to storm Parliament with a small armed group, the prosecutors said.

The idea, put about by well-publicized “enablers”, that a person can be fed on about £5 a week, is just nonsense. Even leaving aside the need for a balanced diet, with many vitamins and minerals, a pack of cheapest pasta is (I think) about £1, which might last someone a couple of days. The cheapest sauce would be at least £1, even if you made it last a week. That leaves £3 for everything else. Bread for a week must cost £1 if not £2. What else could you get? A jar of peanut butter? A pack of cheap butter? A couple of pints of milk? A couple of bunches of bananas?

I have posted previously a pretty hard time I myself had in early-mid 1998, after I returned from living for a few months in Egypt: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2022/08/25/diary-blog-25-august-2022-with-a-few-thoughts-about-poverty-and-living-through-hard-times/.

A great part of the problem in the “West” is that those very pillars of liberty under law have been eroded, largely by the embedded Jew-Zionist element. It may be objected that other elements are also involved, and guilty, and that I do not deny, but the main rot in the whole system is the Jewish-Zionist element.

Thought for the day

The people who, alone in the midst of the ethnic chaos which is spreading more and more, everywhere on Earth, ‘devote all their energy’ to saving from miscegenation and ‘to promoting their best racial elements,’ writes the Führer, ‘is sure of achieving mastery of the world sooner or later’”

[Savitri Devi https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savitri_Devi]

Jewish cultural vandalism

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/oct/13/channel-4-show-art-trouble-hitler-painting

Channel 4 has bought a painting by Adolf Hitler and will allow a studio audience to decide whether Jimmy Carr should burn it with a flamethrower.

As part of its latest season of programmes, the TV channel has bought artworks by a range of “problematic” artists, including Pablo Picasso, as well as convicted paedophile Rolf Harris and sexual abuser Eric Gill.

A forthcoming televised debate called Art Trouble, airing later this month, will then question whether you can truly separate a work of art from its creator – before deciding which pieces to destroy with a variety of tools.

Ian Katz, Channel 4’s director of programming, confirmed that if the studio audience chose to save the painting by Hitler it would not hang in the Channel 4 boardroom but would be “appropriately” disposed of.

Katz quoted Jeremy Isaacs, the station’s founder, as saying that Channel 4 should be watched by everyone some of the time – but not everybody all the time. “I think you might add that Channel 4 should be annoying everyone some of the time, but ideally not everyone all the time,” he added.

[The Guardian].

Note the names: “Katz“, “Isaacs” (etc).

As seen above, Hitler’s art is not the only work apparently destined to be destroyed. The Jews and others involved have not only bought (not with their own money, of course) a painting by Hitler, but also works by major 20thC artists such as Picasso and Eric Gill, with the idea of getting some grinning little monkey such as Jimmy Carr to destroy them.

It is not merely a question of whether the art concerned is “great art” (even Hitler himself would not make such a claim for his paintings, all created when he was an aspiring art student before the First World War) but of the idea that someone disapproved of by the System and/or the “woke” mob should suffer a belated “cancellation” by having their art destroyed.

Personally, I would not want art created by, for example, Jews, destroyed —indeed, I sometimes post works by Levitan and others on this blog—, certainly not for that reason alone.

The joy in destruction exhibited in a show of the kind proposed is basically a celebration of destruction, and also a puerile celebration of “cancellation” etc.

Some may say that sensationalist shows of this kind are not always created and promoted by Jews. Perhaps.

This new TV show is not some example of witty or even groundbreaking iconoclasm; au contraire— a facile and rather stupid idea.

A sign of the complete decadence of the Western msm.

Labour is at root not very different in policy terms from the misnamed “Conservatives”, not in big picture terms: Ukraine, “Covid”, (anti-) free speech, (pro-) immigration, though of course there are nuances. The precipitous fall in Con fortunes is really just because it is so very obvious that Liz Truss, woolly-head Kwarteng, James Cleverly, Therese Coffey, Suella Braverman etc are not so much the “A” team, but the “Z” team. Dregs of the dregs, who are simply not at the level where they can function properly. They simply have not the competence or capacity to be at Cabinet level, and the public has noticed.

Of course, the longer that a general election is avoided, the more it looks as if Liz Truss is afraid of one…

Having said that, it may be that the Labour lead will be eroded, but it is hard to see how, at present.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11282329/Cornwall-pub-turns-lights-replaces-CANDLES-reduce-soaring-energy-bills.html

That report reminded me of when I was first in Almaty, Kazakhstan (in 1996 and 1997). I lived on one of the main boulevards, Prospekt Lenina. There were frequent power cuts or, as the Americans say, “outages”.

I bought some candles for my 12th-floor Soviet penthouse apartment, and that was OK, though I nearly got stuck in the lift one day when there was a power cut the moment I stepped out of that lift, having returned from my office. The power did not return until about midday the next day, so that was a lucky miss for me.

In fact, my area of the city was not so badly affected as others, being within the “Presidentsky” district, where the then Presidential Palace and major embassies were located. Usually, the power cuts involved one or two areas at a time, with other areas continuing to receive electrical supply. Where I lived was certainly given preferential treatment, but still lost power fairly often.

I remember well that I was due to dine with three people one evening at a small and little-patronized Georgian restaurant in a quiet lane not too far from my home, a place almost in the countryside.

When the time came to meet those people, I was sitting in the empty restaurant. They arrived together, a young American in the Peace Corps, and two local Russian girls who were employed by an American organization; I had met them previously.

No sooner had they sat down than the electricity was cut off. The owner of the place, a Georgian lady called Bella, hurried to put out quite a few candles.

In the restaurant, with its wooden walls and lack of traffic noise (the lane outside was deserted), this created a kind of 19th century environment. One of the Russian girls started to play the piano which was there. Mainly Chopin.

In the candlelight, it was like being in a scene adapted from Chekhov or some other pre-revolutionary author; perhaps a country estate circa 1860 and in a Russia not yet hit by modern warfare or the shocks of violent revolution. Charmant

That evening has always stayed with me.

Still slightly favourable on defence and “terrorism”? How? Why? The armed forces seem incapable of stopping migration invasion across the Channel, and are too small to stop any conventional invasion. The present ZOG (Zionist Occupation Government) is pledged to continue to waste billions funnelling money and arms to the Jew-Zionist regime in Kiev.

What about “terrorism”? The Muslims are not taking over the British cities via “terrorism” but via their birth-rate. The Jews continue to send their teenage children to Israel, there to be trained in the use of firearms, as well as in techniques of streetfighting, but are not even monitored (much) by the UK Security Service on their return to the UK.

Thinking about who would vote “Conservative” now.

Some would. People whose income is well above the norm, perhaps; those on £150,000+, and who are also voting out of purely personal self-interest . Then —the largest group— those who want to vote specifically against Labour, and see a Con vote as the only effective way to do it.

Are there any other groups of “Conservative” voters now? I think not. The last 12 years have seen no effective policy or action on the immigration problem, whether in general or specifically re. the cross-Channel migration-invasion. As for that trad Con strongpoint, “law and order”, we have seen police numbers cut, courts (in the hundreds) closed down to save money, a huge backlog of trials, and legal aid cuts which have effectively denied millions the right to access the legal system.

Yes, a lot can happen in the two years before a general election has to be held, but it cannot really be said that Liz Truss has any popular mandate, and things look likely to slide even further from here: utility bills, mortgage payments, whatever may hit the UK by reason of the wrongheaded anti-Russia sanctions and military adventurism.

Even the mainly self-interested “grey vote” of pensioners and those nearing State Pension age might pause before placing their crosses next to the Conservative Party candidate, now that it has emerged that the young Liz Truss actually wanted to abolish the State Pension, and who intends to slash other benefits relied on by pensioners.

I assessed Rory Stewart in 2019, when he was a candidate for the Conservative Party leadership. I also updated it, and continue to do so. A large number of people have read that assessment. See https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/05/03/will-rory-stewart-mp-be-prime-minister/.

Some of the Ukrainians in the UK are genuine refugees from war; most are not. They usually come from areas untouched by war, often have financial resources and/or expensive cars, and are looking for an economic or career opportunity.

Unexpected event

I visited the only fairly local supermarket this evening, a Waitrose branch. Outside the entrance to the building, a makeshift medical bed, like a large sleeping bag. Several staff were tending to the occupant, an elderly person. There were medic-looking cases or bags around, presumably from the first-aid room.

I did not like to stare, or interfere, in view of the fact that the incident was under control, but found out from one of the staff inside that someone had tripped over and was unable to get up. An ambulance had been called some 2 hours previously, but had not yet arrived. Two hours!

When I left, half an hour later, with my shopping, the patient was still there, still on the ground, and a member of staff had even moved up a large square parasol/umbrella from the Waitrose Cafe, to shield the person from a shower.

As I pushed my shopping to my vehicle, a large new Bentley passed by. Like something from a satirical sketch about Britain in 2022: if you are lucky, you drive off in a large new Bentley, if not so lucky you lie on a pavement, dependent on “the kindness of strangers”, until the NHS can organize itself to get around to you.

Eventually, I drove out. The patient was still lying, waiting and, needless to add, no-one was standing around clapping…

Britain 2022, where an ambulance takes hours to reach you.

Meanwhile, in some seaside resort, the pathetic remnants of the Labour Party were all going through the motions of praising “our NHS” etc, as they always do. Still, I suppose that the next General Election is now, rather surprisingly, suddenly theirs to lose.

As I blogged a day or two ago, “JimmySecUK” presents himself as “sometime journalist” and as a supposed specialist of some kind in the field(s) of “national security” and strategy, but seems unwilling to put either his name or his organizational affiliations (if any) on his Twitter masthead.

An example of his style:

At least Peter Hitchens is open about his identity, and that of his newspaper (of course, he actually has one).

I assessed Hitchens, some years ago, on the blog: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/05/19/peter-hitchens-and-his-views/

This is exactly the situation in respect of the UK msm. On many topics, but an obvious one would be the “holocaust” farrago.

Late thought

I do not know for sure whether Europe is heading towards a third and even more disastrous “world” war, but it certainly seems that that might be the case.

I hope that that will not be the case, and that, if it is the case and does come to pass, a new and better civilization will eventually emerge from the ruins. Mini-budget of Kwasi Kwarteng and Liz Truss

https://news.sky.com/video/pound-plummets-after-mini-budget-12703855

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/09/23/mini-budget-stamp-duty-tax-cuts-ni-truss-kwarteng-ftse-100/

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/23/kwasi-kwarteng-mini-budget-key-points-at-a-glance

Aubrey Allegretti, political correspondent: Kwarteng starts by pinning the blame for inflation and spiralling energy bills directly on Putin.

[The Guardian]

Well, after all, it could not be the fault of the Boris-idiot government, which all but shut down the UK economy for 2 years for no good reason, while doling out free money like a drunken sailor…oh, wait a minute…

Aubrey Allegretti: Kwarteng seeks to turn the last 12 years of Conservative economic wisdom on its head and present the government as new and radical – rather than hanging on the coattails of the last one.

He lays out his central point that “growth is not as high as it should be”, arguing this only leads to less money to fund public services, relying on higher taxes, and so on.

“We need a new approach for a new era” should be seen as nothing less than a bid to reinvent the Conservatives and present them as a party of change – to avoid being blamed for the mistakes of the past. (Despite, of course, Truss having served in the previous three Conservative governments.)

[The Guardian].

This mini-budget is completely mad. The result can only be roaring inflation, higher interest rates for businesses and mortgage-payers, and before very long a huge spike in house-repossessions as people default on the mortgage commitments taken out in easier times.

Reducing tax for those earning over £140,000 —about 3x or 4x the average pay? That is just ridiculous and will be applied to purchase of hedging assets (including paying off any mortgage commitments such higher-earners may have).

Stimulation of the economy requires more money at the bottom end, where people are almost compelled by circumstances to spend on goods and services, not at the top end of the income scale.

Today, the pound sterling is down, as I write, by about 2%. Interest rates for UK government borrowing are rising steeply.

A budget of this sort does nothing for the poor (however defined), nothing for the bulk of the population, and only helps those already affluent or wealthy.

Indeed, it might be said that the “middle ranks”, meaning people without much capital, working for a modest living, paying off a mortgage, paying for children and a household, will be hit very hard.

If only there were an existing, tightly-controlled, social-national party, —even if small— and with credible policies and people. One does not exist. Somewhere soon down the road might come a “1929” moment. That was what started the NSDAP and Hitler on its path to glory (ultimately, tragic glory, but that is another question).

Hilary Mantel

The authoress, Hilary Mantel, has died.

I was struck by this, seen on her Wikipedia entry:

In an 2013 interview with the Telegraph, Mantel stated: “I think that nowadays the Catholic Church is not an institution for respectable people.”[5] She continued in the interview to say: “When I was a child I wondered why priests and nuns were not nicer people. I thought that they were amongst the worst people I knew.” These statements, as well as the themes explored in her earlier novel Fludd, led some to question her work in Wolf Hall, with Bishop Mark O’Toole noting: “There is an anti-Catholic thread there, there is no doubt about it. Wolf Hall is not neutral.”[46].”

[Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilary_Mantel].

I myself had no contact with Roman Catholicism as a child. Indeed, I do not think that I even knew any Roman Catholics until I was in my early 20s. All the same, the few impressions that I had then were not favourable, as when I was in Ireland aged about 21 and had left Tralee station to walk or hitch-hike to the mountains. A small car approached, the first one since Tralee. I stuck out my thumb, only for the miserable-looking bastards on board, a thin, rat-faced and bespectacled Catholic priest, and a thoroughly nasty-looking nun (who was driving), to pass me without even a glance.

After a week or so in the sea-mountains, I returned the same way. Again, a car approached. The same car. The same occupants. I thought that this time they would stop, having seen me the previous week. No. Straight on past, not sparing me a look.

Miserable bastards, whom I hope met a miserable end.

Incidentally, I did get a lift eventually, in both directions; on the journey out, from an attractive dark-haired young Irishwoman who would not accept a chocolate from me because it was Lent.

The years spin past ever-quicker. That was in early 1979, all of 43 years ago now.

Exactly. Both above tweets are right. The income point however leaves out the main difference between the few and the many, the capital held by each group.

The average Joe has no, or virtually no, capital. In fact, if you leave aside any equity value in residential property owned (usually just one dwelling, and Average Joe himself lives in it), most British people really only have a tiny amount of capital, a few thousand pounds, or even just a few hundred.

The wealthy few however, are often not at all dependent on income as such, certainly not income from any ordinary job. Their capital, invested in real property, or shares etc, is the key to their wealth. Careful investment and accountancy can mean that Average Millionaire/Billionaire Joe has almost no taxable income at all, while in any given year, his capital might have increased by 20%, 50%, even 1,000%.

The wealthiest of all have seen their capital increase hugely since the last financial crash in 2008; The Elon Musks (from about USD $2 billion to about USD $277 billion— in just one decade), the Jeff Bezos’s etc.

People like that laugh at the very idea of income tax. It is simply irrelevant to most of them. Look at the Duke of Westminster, small compared to the mega-billionaires, but still worth £10 billion -£20 billion. Then compare that to the Average Joe, who might (or might not) own, even including his house equity, maybe £200,000 or so. £1 for every £100,000 owned by the Duke of Westminster, and maybe £1 for every £1,500,000 owned by Elon Musk.

I myself had a great many problems with HMRC long ago. Partly but not entirely self-inflicted, and all now (long ago, over a decade ago) resolved to my satisfaction. I never ever encountered a bureaucracy as shambolic (as well as, in some cases, unpleasant) as HMRC. Not in Eastern Europe, not in the former Soviet Union, not in the USA (which came close, at times).

Look at them: Charles, Anne, Edward, Andrew, Harry (formerly known as “Prince”), William. Are any of them beyond mediocre in intellect, character, or in any way other than unearned and unmerited wealth? Most of them do not even pay taxes.

Meanwhile, Kelvin McKenzie, formerly of the Sun “newspaper”, exposes his ignorance once again:

McKenzie seems unaware that there is more to tax than income tax and inheritance tax. To give the obvious example (obvious at least to anyone better-informed than McKenzie), everyone pays VAT, a tax which is a major contributor to State funds, and is paid disproportionately by the poorer part of the population.

I have to admit that I have little interest in the minutiae of it all, but from the ruthless, Ayn Rand, callous self-interest point of view, the Mulatta has, as they say, “played a blinder”.

Putin’s decision to invade, as such, was not a mistake, but the decision to invade without proper preparation, without a proper plan, without having eliminated Zelensky, and with no proper logistics in place, was more than a mistake. It was criminally negligent. The GRU and General Staff should be purged, cut to the bone. Start again, as Stalin did.

It could have been done swiftly, with minimal hurt and damage.

Where can I get one of those? Or both.

True, but remember how Blair, and Brown in particular, worshipped the banking “industry” (sometimes useful but basically parasitic service industry).

More thoughts about the “mini-Budget”

Seems that “the markets” are dropping like a stone.

I mean, a simple-minded, almost cretinous Budget, announced by a woolly-headed ****** posing as Chancellor of the Exchequer; then we have a semi-educated half-caste with a “degree” in Hospitality Management posing as Foreign Secretary, and a stupid and ridiculous woman (who only became an MP on her back), actually posing as Prime Minister….what could possibly go wrong?

Jesus Christ! Is that stupid lot the best “the great Conservative Party” (in the words of Disraeli, his sentence ending “which destroys everything“…) can do? And is that hopelessly banal package of economic measures the summation of their thoughts?

Suddenly, the great champion of the “rights” of the Gypsies and “travellers” (Irish tinkers) was against them camping near his house…

Thoughts re. the Russian retreat in parts of Ukraine east of the Dnieper

I believe that Clausewitz wrote that, in war, the moral is to the physical in a ratio 3:1.

Morale, esprit de corps, confidence, and belief in the rightness of a cause, as against numbers of soldiers, equipment, arms, ammunition.

Despite the Kiev regime being a horrible, dictatorial, corrupt and Jew-Zionist-led kleptocracy, the simple Ukrainian soldiers at the front think that they are fighting for “Ukraine”, its history and culture, and for some kind of “freedom”. Also, for their homes and families.

However wrongheaded at least part of that is, it is a powerful message and, to those directly involved, congruent.

The Russian soldiers, many of them, are young, naive, not infrequently drunk, often ill-disciplined, and actually have more in common with many of their Ukrainian opposite numbers than with the savage Chechens fighting on the Russian side, and who have stained Russia’s reputation during this conflict.

The Russian soldiers, some of whom have their homes and families as far away as Siberia, have evidently not been properly prepared ideologically for the situation into which they have been thrust. The present Russian Army does not have the propaganda and disciplinary structure provided, in Soviet days, by political commissars and others.

The result of the above factors is that the Ukrainian soldiers’ morale is generally far higher than that of the Russian soldiers.

As previously blogged, the only way Russia is going to get through this is to augment numbers and armament, but principally to think “outside the box” by using shock tactics and, equally importantly, oblique tactics and, above all, unexpected tactics.

In the end, there will only be one solution to all this if Britain, as anything akin to a nation, is to survive.

NHS news

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11204717/Queen-Elizabeth-NHS-trusts-cancel-hospital-appointments-bank-holiday.html

Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral will take place on Monday September 19 – which has been declared a bank holiday.

Several NHS Trusts have said that some non-urgent procedures and clinic appointments are to be postponed with King’s College Hospital stating this would be thevast majority‘.

Hip and knee replacements, cataract surgery, maternity checks and some cancer treatments are among the postponed appointments, at a time when NHS data shows nearly 40 per cent of cancer patients had their treatment delayed beyond the two-month maximum.

However NHS England said that Covid vaccination services and urgent and emergency appointments would continue.”

[Daily Mail]

How ludicrous is that? People in great pain, in some cases, people needing knee and hip replacements, people with cancer, all postponed (in some cases for months).

What makes it even more ludicrous is that the useless and quite possibly harmful “Covid” “vaccinations” etc will still be done (with the staff doing that probably getting double or triple pay).

More tweets seen

A lot of truth in that (read the whole thread), but it is all too American and “how to get ahead” and “aspirational” for me.

Ridiculous, but in a way what I would have expected from that organization.

I myself have never been to a Center Parcs location, but a couple of people (admittedly about 30 years ago) told me that their impression was not very good. The quite high price did not cover many of the activities offered, for one thing. Those activities have to be paid for on top of the basic price for going there.

It may be better for people who go there with small children, I do not know, but imagine a resort (which is effectively what Center Parcs is, a modern take on the old Soviet “sanatorium” model) that chucks out its guests for one day so that it can virtue-signal re. the funeral of the late Queen. I suppose that staff shortages might be a factor too, but the unexpected holiday is only one day. Surely a skeleton operation could be kept going? Seems wrong to me.

[Update, 14 September 2022: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/13/center-parcs-closes-uk-resorts-queen-funeral.

Center Parcs has backtracked after facing accusations of “ruining people’s holidays”by announcing it would close its UK sites for 24 hours from Monday morning to mark the Queen’s funeral.

However, on Tuesday evening, after an outcry on social media and widespread negative press reports, the company said that it had “reviewed our position regarding the very small number of guests who are not due to depart on Monday and we will be allowing them to stay on our villages rather than having to leave and return on Tuesday”.” [The Guardian]].

Munich: The Edge of War

Saw a film on TV, Munich: The Edge of War, about the talks held in Munich in 1938. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_%E2%80%93_The_Edge_of_War.

I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, maybe. Not more.

The Hitler character was, both in character and personality, not so much a portrayal as a caricature.

The locations filmed, and sets— all very good.

Neville Chamberlain was played well by Jeremy Irons, though looking too robust (despite the health problems mentioned); the real Chamberlain was, at that age, more of a grey figure, I think.

The flaws in the film, leaving aside the central assumption (that the Munich Agreement bought Britain time vis a vis Hitler/Germany), were in the small things: the “blacks with everything” agenda, which put a black man in Downing Street as a civil servant, indeed in a fairly senior position. That would have been unthinkable in the Britain of 1938. Also, an Indian woman as niece of Colonel Sir Stewart Menzies, the then Chief of SIS. If not unthinkable, unlikely.

Another absurdity (which had little to do with the main plot, and looked like a “me too” add-on) was that a Jewish woman, openly anti-Hitler, was —sometime in the 1930s— arrested or abducted by the SS, had a Star of David carved into her back, and was then defenestrated, ending up paralyzed and unable to speak.

There is a cultural truth-bending agenda going on, one which distorts history, in particular as to race.

NHS

Comment unnecessary…

Further to the above, I happened to hear a story about yet another example of the all-too-typical NHS maladministration and inability to make logical and useful decisions.

The story came to me third-hand, admittedly, but is believed to be accurate.

A lady who is apparently registered blind (I myself do not know her) was asked to attend an eye clinic at Poole, in Dorset. This is, again, apparently (I have no personal knowledge of it), a new NHS eye clinic, so this is not a case of some old and unrenovated NHS building.

The said clinic operates out of what was a department store, Beales, in Poole: https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/19795332.nhs-hospital-clinic-beales-store-welcomes-first-patients/.

[NHS eye clinic, Poole, Dorset (top floor)]

The NHS has put out public relations material praising itself for the new unit: https://www.uhd.nhs.uk/news/latest-news-list/134-2021/1465-nhs-in-dorset-thinks-big-to-tackle-the-number-of-outpatients-waiting-for-a-face-to-face-appointment-and-the-time-they-have-to-wait.

The lady in question was told by the NHS that no ambulance would be available to take her from her home in the New Forest to Poole, but that local taxi companies offered discounted fares. The “discounted fare” turned out to be £100 (return-trip). The lady concerned is a very aged pensioner.

It gets worse. It seems that the eye clinic, on the top floor of a 7-storey building, has only stairs or an escalator; no lift. The escalator does not go to the top two floors of the building, and the blind old lady cannot use escalators without assistance anyway, I am told, so if she went there she would have to go up some 14 flights of stairs unaided, at the age of, I think, 90 or more.

Result? That lady will not be able to attend that clinic.

Leaving aside the individual case, what does that say about the ability of NHS people to plan and design properly? Not much to their credit, I think.

Comment once again surely unnecessary…

I have to admit that I take it with a pinch of salt anyway when a multimillionaire cries about the plight of the poor and struggling…

Charities have become a “rotten borough”

One of the most sad and indeed angering aspects of the UK in recent years has been the trashing of the charity sector, not because of lack of money but because of politicization and near-embezzlement (paying of often mediocre top staff huge salaries). The damage has mostly been done by those who themselves work in the charities.

We have seen, for example, sex scandals in Oxfam, Save the Children and others. Readers might recall the scandals around sex-pest Brendan Cox, who was married to assassinated Labour MP Jo Cox. He was paid something like £300,000 a year, despite coming from a fairly mediocre academic and work background (though, as always these days, “bigged-up”, in the rather crude current phrase: see https://uk.linkedin.com/in/brendan-cox-433b364).

£300,000 per year, to be not even the head of Save the Children, but the (I believe) third-in-command. People on modest incomes give their pounds and pennies to such organizations, only for, in that case, the top three in the set-up to have creamed off a million pounds a year in salaries alone. Disgrace.

The charity sector in the UK is a totally “rotten borough”. Look at the recent activities of the RNLI and National Trust. The former has been operating what amounts to a ferry service for migrant-invaders, and I read that thousands of virtue-signallers have as a result donated to it! When the provision of housing and healthcare is stretched to snapping point because of mass immigration, I suppose that those idiots will not even once blame their own encouragement of the invasion.

As to the RNLI itself, it has obviously been infiltrated at a high level.

National Trust? I think that the cartoons below say enough:

I am very much in favour of charitable work but, as a sector, the whole charitable area has gone badly astray, and in a number of ways.

This winter?

Was sent this (inc. the photograph). Source unknown, but sounds correct:

As we speak there’s a UK government department working with consultants on a strategy for controlling dissent this winter.

There will be a wall to wall media campaign of “blitz spirit” images of families and the multiracial Britain wearing jumpers and socks for Ukraine, with the blame aimed at Vladolf Putler.

This message will then be disseminated through the population by media addicted busybody women looking for the latest do-good cause and fuel poverty marches will get zero media coverage.

This is how control of liberal democracies works now. You’re all atomised individuals, capital owns media and the NPCs enforce the dominant narrative sufficiently.”

Looking at those tweets, I actually had to remind myself that Zahawi is, for the moment, Chancellor of the Exchequer. A bloody Kurd from Baghdad, who only arrived in the UK when 11 years old.

What a mess this country is in! Hardly any of the last few governments have even had many white English MPs in the top jobs. Jews, part-Jews, Indians, blacks, half-castes, a Kurd…you name it.

On top of that, this particular non-Brit is one of the most corrupt persons possible to have in the once-exalted job of Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Had (as I have been blogging for years) the UK forged closer links with Russia and its people, we should have been able to buy Russian gas at knockdown prices, and would not now be facing shortages of energy, and our people going cold because of UK Government policy.

The difference being that the profits in Norway go into their sovereign wealth fund, used for the benefit of the Norwegian people, whereas the “British” gas companies profiteer for the benefit of parasitic banks and investment companies, as well as for multimillionaire shareholders.

The dishevelled drunk and/or drug abuser shown in the clip seems to be, if not an accredited U.S. diplomat, then at least an Embassy employee with a pass and, presumably, at least limited immunity, watching him show his pass to the Russian policeman and then be admitted to the Embassy by the U.S. Marine guards or other security people.

I have previously blogged once or twice how I visited the UK bacteriological research centre at Porton Down with a Mr. Komisarenko [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serhiy_Komisarenko], the then Ukrainian Ambassador, and the Scientific Attache of the Ukrainian Embassy in London. That was in or about 1994, I believe. The Ambassador had an educational background in microbiology. According to Wikipedia, he is now, or until recently was, the director of such a laboratory in Ukraine.
