Talking point

I hope that the poor saps who criticize me occasionally on Twitter are noting how often I have been proven right since I started writing this blog nearly 4 years ago. I was blogging over a year ago, maybe longer, about how almost everyone, misled by the msm, was thinking of Boris Johnson as a strong leader-type, when his whole history shows the reverse, a weak man without ideas, principles or resilience, untrustworthy, incompetent and without leadership qualities.”

[my own words, published on this blog 5 years ago, in September 2020, during the “Covid” scamdemic/panicdemic. Was I right about Johnson, or not?]

An asylum seeker who entered the UK illegally has been jailed for raping a woman in London’s Hyde Park.

Abdelrahmen Adnan Abouelela, 42, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison for the rape, which happened in November last year.

The married father-of-one approached the victim as she was walking home alone from a night-out in central London at about 9pm and lured her to a secluded spot in the park where he raped her, Southwark Crown Court was told on Tuesday.

“You thought absolutely nothing of her,” judge Gregory Perrins told the defendant, whose address was given as a Hilton hotel in Ealing, west London.

“It must have been obvious to you that she was a woman under the influence of alcohol who was alone and vulnerable. You made the decision to take advantage of her vulnerability.”

Brits leaving Britain, other Europeans leaving Britain, only the non-Europeans arriving in Britain, and in vast numbers.

(been there, done that…see above).

Maybe.

Probably. At least Zelensky and his cabal are no longer claiming that their forces will advance deep into Russia. That fantasy, at least, has gone.

More Starmer-stein fantasy geopolitics. Britain’s depleted armed forces cannot even defend the south coast of the UK against backward hordes in rubber boats…and do we really care whether China pressures —or even invades— the bloody Philippines?

Farage more popular than both Starmer and Kemi Badenoch. Significant.

Also significant.

It seems unlikely to me that Israel would attack Turkey directly. After all, much of Israel’s oil supply comes via Turkey. Turkey could simply stop shipping the oil the last short leg to Haifa or elsewhere, which would cause an immediate crisis in Israel.

Apart from that, Turkey, though not a nuclear power, has very strong conventional forces, including hypersonic missiles. See the Google/AI analysis:

“Key Organizations and Programs

  • Roketsan: The primary defense company responsible for developing and producing Turkey’s rocket and missile systems, including the Tayfun and Bora (Khan) families.
  • Tayfun Missile Family: Includes the Tayfun Block-4, Turkey’s first hypersonic ballistic missile, designed to destroy strategic targets.
  • Yıldırım IV Missile Program: An initiative to develop a longer-range medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) capable of reaching targets across the Middle East and parts of Europe.
  • Bora/Khan Missile: The predecessor to the Tayfun, it serves as the backbone of Turkey’s short-range ballistic missile capability.
  • GÖKTUĞ Program: A project to develop indigenous air-to-air missiles, the Merlin (Bozdoğan) and Peregrine (Gökdoğan), to replace existing U.S. models.

Key Capabilities and Future Outlook

  • Hypersonic Technology: Turkey has entered the hypersonic missile domain with the Tayfun Block-4.
  • Long-Range Ballistic Missiles: The development of systems like the Tayfun and Yıldırım IV demonstrates a push for longer-range strategic capabilities.
  • Space Launch Capabilities: Roketsan is developing a satellite launch vehicle, the Simsek-2, to place satellites in orbit.
  • Indigenous Development: Turkey’s defense industry is rapidly advancing, with the goal of becoming a national and global leader in rocket and missile technology.

[Google]

I think that, in the back of the Turkish mind is the knowledge that much of the Middle East was merely a part of the Ottoman Empire, and not so long ago— until 1922, little more than a century ago.

The Turkish armed forces comprise as many as 500,000 men altogether, of which maybe 400,000 are Army personnel. That army has well over 2,000 main battle tanks. The Turkish air force is likewise large and being upgraded.

Overall, the forces at the command of the Turkish government match those of Israel (leaving aside the Israeli nuclear weapons). The Israeli nightmare scenario would be a multifront war against, simultaneously, the largest or most powerful regional states: Turkey and Iran, in particular.

Myerson should never have been placed, even though very briefly, on the Bench as a Recorder (part-time judge); thankfully, his behaviour ensured that he was removed in ignominy before very long.

Myerson’s sworn testimony in the case of Wilson v. Mendelsohn, Newbon (deceased), and Cantor was disbelieved by the trial judge.

“Not Proven”

I was rather disappointed to see that the “Not Proven” verdict, available in Scottish criminal courts, is to be abolished. I have always thought it a good thing that a Scottish jury can decide that, in effect, they suspect that the defendant probably did whatever he/she is charged with but that the evidence did not support a “Guilty” verdict on the basis of beyond a reasonable doubt.

I should have liked to have seen the “Not Proven” introduced to English courts too. So much for that…

The UK police have turned from their traditional role(s) to becoming a kind of “poundshop Stasi“, the role of which is to enforce socio-ideological conformity among the masses of the UK population, and to repress manifestations of ethno-national dissidence.

The Saudis and other Gulf Arabs have nothing— no reality as “states” or peoples, no integrity, not even their traditional religion. Living on borrowed time.

As it now is, the EU is anti-European. also, A kind of NWO/ZOG dictatorship, in effect. The European states should leave both the EU and NATO.

Is that not some kind of Masonic distress signal?

Fate, or Schicksal. We all are in the dispensations of Fate.

As I blogged long ago, at least 2 years ago, the strategic balance was always in Russia’s favour, and Russia could not and would not lose this war. Now, events on the macro scale have ensured that that will be the case.

[“Parents were told – by people they thought were experts – that dire consequences would ensue if their children were not given access to puberty blockers. Stonewall told managers and employees that “transwomen” were entitled to enter women’s single-sex spaces and sports. It encouraged public and private sector organizations to “go beyond the law” in the hope that this would make gender self-ID the de facto – and eventually de jure – reality. Civil servants and officials around the country have promoted the message that trans-identifying people should be treated in accordance with their “gender identity”. Worst of all, children have been encouraged to believe it’s possible to change sex, and that they will be accepted for all purposes as the opposite sex. All these lies and misrepresentations have caused immense damage. Some of the protests have been repulsive and inexcusable. But the angry, distraught trans-identifying people we are hearing from were lied to by thousands of people who should have known better. When you’ve been living a lie, the truth is very painful. The civil unrest – and political troublemaking – we’ve seen is dangerous. @Keir_Starmer must make a statement welcoming the Supreme Court ruling and strongly affirming his party’s commitment to the rule of law.“]

[“In Odessa, almost all of the approximately three dozen kamikaze drones reached their targets On social networks, Odessans note that the sound of the drones was different from the standard sound accompanying the flight of the Geranium-2 UAV. …and imagine if some non-Jew said it, mutatis mutandis, about Jews! The “poundland KGB” British police of 2023 would go mad trying to please the Jewish-Zionist lobby by arresting the speaker.

That is what I say— No!

From the newspapers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12616459/Israel-Hamas-war-threatens-engulf-Middle-East-projectiles-fired-Syria-salvoes-exchanged-Lebanons-Hezbollah-airstrikes-hit-land-exit-Gaza-Egypt.html

The war has threatened to draw in surrounding territories after shells were fired from Syria and Lebanon into Israel and Israel shelled the only land exit from Gaza into Egypt – shortly after an Israeli military spokesperson told civilians to flee through it.

Rescue officials in Gaza said ‘large numbers’ of people were still trapped under the remnants of leveled buildings, with rescue equipment and ambulances unable to reach the area.

In a new tactic, Israel is warning civilians to evacuate neighborhood after neighborhood, and then inflicting devastation, in what could be a prelude to a ground offensive.

Israeli Prime Minister Mr Netanyahu has warned Israel’s military campaign following Saturday’s onslaught is only the start of a sustained war to destroy Hamas and ‘change the Middle East’.

Entire districts in Gaza were ‘razed‘ in airstrikes today as Israel continues its response to an ongoing incursion launched by Hamas on Saturday.

Israel announced yesterday it would put the region under ‘complete siege’, making the Rafah crossing into Egypt the sole route out of the Gaza Strip by land.

[Daily Mail]

[Israeli attack on Gaza]

If there were an invasion from the North (Lebanese/Syrian territory), that would place the Israeli army under great strain; even more so were Jordan to attack Jerusalem from the East. Neither is likely, though. So far, not even the West Bank Arabs have joined in, not in any substantial way.

For me, as observer, it seems that the importance of these events has been psychological and not military, as such.

The repressed Palestinian Arabs must now realize what may be possible, and the Israeli Jews must also realize what may one day happen (maybe not so far down the line). The Arabs must be feeling emboldened (despite the effectively genocidal Israeli siege and pounding of Gaza), but the Israeli Jews must be feeling fear that all their military might may, one day soon, not be enough to save them. Many must be keeping their second or third passports to hand, in case they decide to flee.

Obviously, from a strict military point of view, the Israeli Army, with its 2,000 or more tanks, and the Israeli Air Force, with hundreds of strike planes, fighters, attack helicopters, and now also drones, cannot be defeated by the poorly-equipped militia of the Palestinian factions. The Israeli Goliath looms over the Palestinian David.

That may, though, in the end, not be the whole picture.

Sven Longshanks

Many British readers of the blog, perhaps some overseas ones too, will be aware that Sven Longshanks, aka James Allchurch, was sentenced to a very harsh 2.5 years in prison (so, in practical terms, 1 year and 13 weeks) earlier this year. The sentence was handed down on 15 May 2023, so he should be released in (or before) mid-August 2024.

In the meantime, “Sven” needs money while in prison, to make the time less unpleasant. Equally importantly, to help him get back on his feet after release: see https://www.givesendgo.com/SupportSven.

Of course, I was one of the first to realize what a useless lump of nothing “Boris” Johnson was/is. About 20 years ago. Everyone else, pretty much, was willing to swallow the line that “Boris” was brilliant, principled, strong, interesting, a Poundland Churchill for our times. The Jews liked him because he is part-Jew, the Muslims liked that he is part-Levantine, the petit bourgeois Daily Mail readers liked the fact that he had been to Eton and Oxford.

In fact, Johnson was only ever a “cosplay”, as people now say; an am-dram “Churchill”, or a matrioshka with nothing inside. A mainly faked “British upper class” persona, a persona with which the part-Jew, part-Levantine chancer was able to fool the plebs.

Of course, put to the test in political office, it all fell to pieces. He proved himself again and again a liar, unprincipled (and not even in an intelligent way), not any kind of “intellectual”, useless, incapable of either ideology or religion, disloyal, and without a real idea in his muddled head.

Johnson was also as weak as a kitten, incapable of being a Prime Minister.

Brexit could still work, but only by the UK allying itself to Russia, or at least standing neutral but trading with Russia.

The sick thing is that Labour, especially under Starmer, has so very little to offer the British people.

Labour only looks —sort-of— good, or —almost— acceptable to many because, in a more or less rigged binary system, it stands alongside the Conservative Party, which is now exposed as totally useless and pointless.

I do think that, after the last few years especially, the Conservative Party has probably reached the end of the road. That may result, once Starmer has really angered people, in the first real and sustained upsurge for social nationalism in my lifetime.

Yet “Sven Longshanks” is in prison until next August simply for broadcasting allegedly or actually —I never tuned in— anti-Jew stuff on “Radio Aryan”…

If prisoners are to be released ahead of time, Sven Longshanks (James Allchurch) should be the first out of the gates.

I recently blogged about the upcoming by-elections: Tamworth, Mid-Bedfordshire. They will be a test of the depth of disillusion with the Conservative Party.

I can see the 2024 General Election being a strange triumph for Labour, largely by default, and because former Conservative Party voters will just refuse to vote for the present confused, useless rabble. Some will vote Labour, but more will protest-vote or simply abstain.

The truth should be investigated but the propaganda (true or false) has of course already done its job across the West.

I notice that the usual well-paid “human rights” lawyers in the UK (mostly Jews) are very quiet about Israel subjecting 2 million people in Gaza to life without water, food, electricity or communications. This, unless stopped right now, is actual genocide, imposed by Jews on non-Jews.

Jewish-lobby puppet Starmer. You can almost see the strings being pulled. What a disgusting little man he is,.

Were Israel to be wiped out, the Jew-Zionist lobby in the West would suffer a mortal injury.

Diary Blog, 12 March 2021, including some thoughts about value

Early thoughts on value and cost

The news that a piece of “digital art”, or electronic art, has been sold at auction for USD $69 million was puzzling. Apparently, such art can be copied for free, without any cost at all.

In other words, the $69,000,000 art can be replicated and used effectively without cost. This is not quite the same, or goes beyond, having a paper or other copy of, say, the Mona Lisa. Any copy of the Mona Lisa is probably subtly different from the real one, whereas (according to BBC Today Programme) the copy of the piece of “digital art” will be exactly the same as the original.

It seems that what is auctioned is not the digital art alone but the art plus an electronic key to the original, which allows the owner of that original to access the blockchain for it, blockchain being defined as follows:

Blockchain is most simply defined as a decentralized, distributed ledger technology that records the provenance of a digital asset“; or

In the simplest terms, Blockchain can be described as a data structure that holds transactional records and while ensuring security, transparency, and decentralization. You can also think of it as a chain or records stored in the forms of blocks which are controlled by no single authority” [and see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockchain].

In other words, what the purchaser has bought for his $69 million US dollars is the right to change the electronic artwork, just as the owner of the Mona Lisa or other material art has the legal right to add a moustache to the subject, or to take up an axe and chop it to pieces.

In fact, thinking about it, presumably the artwork, if copied by a third party for free, can also be changed for free (though not the accepted “original”). That means that the $69 million US dollars is buying only the notional ownership and nothing else.

The auction of of the $69 million artwork challenges our concept of value. To me, buying “digital art” for more than pennies is completely stupid, but I concede, if it is a concession, that paying out 69 million dollars for any artwork is absurd, even if that artwork were the (original) Mona Lisa or, say (a favourite of mine), Man in Armour by Rembrandt (believed by some to be a representation of Christian Rosenkreutz, said to have been modelled by Titus, son of Rembrandt).

We have recently seen Bitcoin jump (and fluctuate) wildly, having reached the height (today, as I write) of over £41,000 (USD $57,000), having been valued initially in pennies. I have written previously about Bitcoin: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2017/12/10/thoughts-about-bitcoin/; https://ianrobertmillard.org/2021/02/20/diary-blog-20-february-2021/.

Bitcoin can be sold back, i.e. cashed in, though its real world use is limited. “Digital art” can be sold on as well, if the owner of the art, i.e. holder of the blockchain key, can find a purchaser (in my opinion, mug) willing to take it on.

In my first blog post about Bitcoin, I examined money. Why do we value tokens of monetary value such as banknotes? It all comes down to confidence.

In the end, does Bitcoin have less “legitimacy” or “value” than paper banknotes, or electronic entries on the ledgers of known banks? Maybe not, but that is perhaps less a validation of Bitcoin than a criticism of what we call “money value”.

Has capitalism reached, with the auction of digital art (and, arguende, with the sale of “real” art for sometimes hundreds of millions), a stage of decadent absurdity which may be a predictor of worldwide economic and social collapse? For me, the crazed heights at auction (of both types of art) are a sign of poor judgment as much as anything.

It does make me wonder what kind of person would rather have a piece of digital art than USD $69 million! Does that make me a Philistine, or just not a mug?

Is there a case for artworks of designated importance, of more than a certain age (100 years plus?), and valued at more than a designated level, being held and owned only by specified museums and galleries around the world? It’s a idea (of my own), anyway, though of course that would not stop speculation in artworks of younger age (and we have seen works by many quite recent artists, including Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, even Damien Hirst, go for huge amounts). Neither, of course, would such regulation stop speculation in digital art, not for decades to come, anyway.

For me, this latest art speculation is a societal warning flag.

The odd logic of tweeter “@MenziesBj” reminds me of the similar thinking of not a few instructing solicitors when I was at the practising Bar. There is a phrase in use among barristers, “solicitors go elsewhere“, reflective of the fact that instructing solicitors often stop instructing particular Counsel for no obvious reason.

You would imagine that, if as a barrister you do well in a case, then the solicitor who instructed you would instruct you again, and if you did not do well, would not instruct you again. In fact, while that sometimes does happen, often the reverse is true. No-one knows why.

Barristers are, especially when not in the very top sets, very dependent on their own relationship with solicitors. I was once slightly acquainted with one barrister, in a friend’s chambers, who had a very good practice despite (my impression) being not particularly intelligent. 90% of his work (25 years ago) came from one solicitor (not even one firm, but one individual solicitor in one firm).

One fine day, as Kafka put it in The Trial, that solicitor stopped instructing him; according to that barrister, for no obvious reason. Result? A serious problem for the barrister, obviously. 90% of work gone means about 90% of income gone.

That (nameless) barrister was one of those men who combine a relentlessly politically-correct attitude with a certain amount of sex-pestery, as my friend in his then chambers had mentioned to me. Many years later, one of his pupils, a young woman, made an official complaint about him. I do not know all the details, but he was fined £4,000, and may have been lucky not to have been dealt with more severely.

A personal nexus between a solicitor and a barrister, though inherently precarious, can work in favour of a barrister. I knew another barrister, though not well, who was a member of another friend’s chambers. The former had a friend from university who had become a salaried lawyer in a large organization. That employed lawyer directed work to the barrister. In one year, such work totalled, in fees, some £600,000! That was nearly 30 years ago!

Not quite as good as winning the lottery (or being born into a fortune), but almost.

“Male curfew”

I missed this latest piece of crazed nonsense, which was being reported upon yesterday, it seems.

https://news.sky.com/story/sarah-everard-green-partys-baroness-jones-suggests-6pm-curfew-for-men-12243194

“Jenny Jones”, aka “Baroness” Jones [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenny_Jones,_Baroness_Jones_of_Moulsecoomb].

A Green Party peer has suggested a 6pm curfew should be introduced for men in the wake of Sarah Everard’s disappearance.

Baroness Jones of Moulescoomb told the House of Lords that such a move would “make women a lot safer, and discrimination of all kinds would be lessened”.” [Sky News]

What a total loony, even for the Green Party!

Who is she? “Before entering politics, Jones worked as a financial controller in London. She attended the Institute of Archaeology at University College London as a mature student, studying for an MA in archaeology.[1] She spent approximately 10 years as an archaeologist in the Middle East, studying carbonised plant remains, before embarking on a career in politics.” [Wikipedia].

So she was an office bod for a number of years, became a mature student and then studied carbonized plant remains for a decade…oh, and she was a member of the pathetic London Assembly for 4 years, and failed to become an MP twice (in different London constituencies, coming 4th in both elections, getting 6.5% of the vote in one, then 2.9% in the other). She also tried to become Mayor of London, but only received about 4% of the overall vote.

Not a stellar political record, but hey!…this is the UK, where serial failure is rewarded so long as the idiot is “anti-racist” and/or (stand up, Boris-idiot!) pro-Israel. So she was elevated to the House of Lords!

Sometimes, I think that this country is terminally screwed.

Her previous utterances? Let’s see…”She was outspoken about numerous issues including what she called mayor Boris Johnson‘s demonisation of youth through the use of “baseless” rhetoric on “soaring gang-membership and rising knife-crime”, suggesting the mayor created an unhelpful climate of fear.[28] ” [Wikipedia].

As for her curfew idea…look at her!
