Saturday quiz

Well, this week my 6/10 trumped political journalist John Rentoul, who scored 4/10. I did not know the answers to questions 3, 5, 6, and 8.

Accurate… I spent 9 months in East Africa. It’s very hard to pinpoint exactly why it’s such a mess.

They have an infantile mentality and absolutely no commercial sense.

I once went about 10 miles down the road, in the middle of nowhere on the way to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, and every 50 meters there was someone selling watermelon. I said to the driver, “Everyone is selling exactly the same product. Why don’t they try making watermelon juice or something different to stand out?” He replied, “But why would we do that? We like melon!”

That attitude was everywhere. In fact, I would sometimes meet Westerners who would say, “Isn’t it amazing how they’ve kept this piece of junk car going for 30 years?” And I’d reply, “It’s more amazing that we have automated car factories with robots.” They literally only focus on the immediate need. “Car not go today, car fixed with string and tape.

The only two factors preventing Britain and other European countries from retaking direct control of Africa, of all of Africa, are 1. socio-political will and 2. the fact that the (((globalists))) find it more convenient to exploit Africa’s resources via corrupt tiny “elites” in each fake African “state” (and to hell with the environment, the forests, the wildlife, and the African people themselves).

The fact is that European rule would benefit all, not least the ordinary Africans.

Incidentally, it would be a great deal easier than many imagine for Europe to reconquer Africa militarily. Only the two factors already noted make it at all hard.

Illiterate travel

I have just read this, https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/travel/sarajevo-guide-balkans-bosnia-and-herzegovina-b1176081.html, a travel piece in what I still call the Evening Standard, and written by well-known columnist Suzanne Moore. Not hugely interesting anyway, but then absurdly badly-written. An essay by a 10-year-old, at best. Or is the sub-editing to blame? Maybe someone pushed a few of the wrong buttons. Extraordinary. Read it and see.

I have read other pieces by Suzanne Moore which were written properly, so maybe it was the fault of the Standard.

Pretty accurate summing-up of “Starmer-ism”, in my opinion, “Blairism without the good bits“, though I do not recall many good bits then either, speaking personally.

As far as assisted dying is concerned, I see it as a generally well-meaning attempt to be kind, which however, put into policy and law, is the start of a slide to, eventually, somewhere down the line, killing people for convenience or money.

HS2 was a vanity project that never should have been approved. As far as I know, though, the other rail projects are or were useful.

She seems to have difficulty identifying the “J” problem…

Again, look at the “usual suspects”…

The “fake history” of the 1970s

That’s because you, “Steve Zodiac”, are apparently telling your grandchildren a load of old hooey…

I have blogged in the past about how very many people (including, weirdly, many who were at least in their teens then, and so actually of an age to remember) say, and even perhaps believe, that the 1970s in the UK were some kind of dark age in which the electricity was off most of the time, in which bodies were left unburied by reason of industrial action, in which trains and buses rarely ran, in which rubbish piled up in the towns and cities, in which there was a “three day week” when offices and factories were closed for four days each week, and in which life was generally miserable (for example, food was terrible, they say).

The above-noted fabled dystopia was, we are told, the result of overreaching trade union power and Labour misgovernment.

Where to start?

First of all, the party in power for the first 4 years of the 1970s was the Conservative Party: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970_United_Kingdom_general_election, and of course Mrs Thatcher won again for the Conservatives in 1979: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_United_Kingdom_general_election.

In other words, out of the 10 years, Labour was in power for about 6 years. Labour government was in place from the early 1960s until mid-1970, then from early 1974 until mid-1979.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_1974_United_Kingdom_general_election; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_1974_United_Kingdom_general_election.

One interesting fact is that, in the 1966 General Election, the “two main parties” (Lab/Con) got exactly 98% of Commons seats on just under 90% of the popular vote: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_United_Kingdom_general_election#Results.

Compare to 2024: 81.8% of seats based on 57.4% of the popular vote.

In 1966, the winning party (Labour) got 48% of the popular vote, the losing Conservatives 41.9%.

In 2024, Labour got 33.7%, and the losing Conservatives only 23.7%.

The electoral system has become not just unfair but also illogical and ridiculous. It no longer reflects reality.

Reverting to the general situation in the 1970s, the much-talked-about “Three Day Week” only affected, directly, commercial operations (which were banned from using electricity on the other four days). The Three Day Week only lasted for two months. Out of 10 years (120 months).

I saw the Three Day Week firsthand. I was working, aged just 18, as supposed assistant manager in a very small commercial intelligence outfit based in the Strand (London). The office only had 5 people including me, though we did have a network of mostly ad-hoc agents all over the southern and eastern parts of England (anywhere south or southwest of The Wash). Much of the work was in Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Essex. The agents were often retired Army officers who, on being contacted, would —eagerly— say something such as “right-oh, old boy. I’ll fire up the Rover and get onto it.”

I must do a blog post sometime about it.

There were, in the early 1970s, strikes by coal miners etc, resulting in a few brief power cuts (“outages”, as the Americans say), but they lasted for a few hours a day, for a few days. Out of 10 years, again.

In the “Winter of Discontent” (1978-79), there were, for a few weeks, situations in some towns and cities whereby rubbish piled up, yes; that much of the “fable” is true, but only for a brief time. As for the “bodies left unburied“, that only applied in Liverpool and Manchester and only for 14 days: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_of_Discontent#Gravediggers’_strike.

In fact, though the 1970s had its problems political, social, economic, Britain still had possibilities. The population was still almost entirely white Northern European, new ideas and projects were around or developing (the Milton Keynes conurbation, the Open University, new express trains, cross-Channel hovercraft etc), and the absurd and damaging house-price madness, though it had started, was still in its early stages.

Britain still had a functioning Army, Navy, Air Force (etc), and a police force that mainly did its expected job and was not usually the sort of poundshop Stasi we now see, snooping on or “monitoring” the expression of views and opinions.

Incidentally, the food was OK back then on the whole. Slightly less cosmopolitan, yes, but in the South of England at least, foreign foods such as hummus, taramasalata, olives, Indian, Chinese, etc were ubiquitous. In fact, some food was better and more available back then.

What I find worrying is not only that people who were not there, or were small children, are convinced that England in 1970-1979 was a dark and gloomy place; more that people who were there seem to have substituted, for what actually happened, a kind of folk-tale.

As for Jewish-lobby puppet Robert Largan, who was parachuted into the constituency of High Peak (Derbyshire) and served as MP from GE 2019 to GE 2024, he was only born in 1987.

If people cannot recall accurately the 1970s, how much less accurate must be the “memories”, often publicized, of the 1930s and 1940s.

According to the malicious, tiny but very well-funded Jewish/Zionist “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”], as many as 96% of “British” Jews consider themselves to be “Zionist”, and most of them also support what the Israeli Jews are doing in Gaza and elsewhere.

That last tweeter is wrong; she compares one or two days at Dresden with the whole 5+ years of war in the UK.

The more accurate figures are: about 60,000 killed in Britain, as against (disputed) 350,000 to 800,000 killed in Germany. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_bombing_during_World_War_II.

The increasing support for Reform UK among (but not exclusively) “the young” seems to mirror the support for the AfD in Germany.

For me, Reform UK is not the way to go: pro-Israel, pro the UK Jewish lobby, economically “libertarian” etc. I agree with the Reform UK hostility to mass immigration, but not with much else they say. For me, real social nationalism is the way to go.

Still, the overall direction of travel is hopeful.

You see tweets, or on TV, that “at least the migrants are prepared to work“, but first of all that applies to some, not all; secondly, what that naive assessment omits to add is that the kind of work most of them (the ones that are willing to work) want to do (or can do, having no usable qualifications or skills, or English language), is in the “black economy”. No income tax, no VAT etc. That way, they can get whatever State benefits they can blag as well as whatever they can make on the side, so rent paid, pocket money, maybe disability too in some cases. Child benefit, if applicable. You get the idea.

The bigger picture, as Goodwin has said, is that that whole process traps this country into being a low-wage, low productivity economy. Exactly the opposite of where we should be heading.

That would be good.

The self-describing “left” is particularly prone to denunciation. In fact, in modern Britain, that is its sole characteristic of note. No more do they want to revolt against privilege, or have a revolution of some sort. No, all they want to do is to obey the dictates of the State (especially if fronted by a “Labour” label), and to “deplatform” or “cancel” (censor or ban) anyone thought to be an independent thinker (usually someone labelled “racist” or “fascist” or “Nazi“). You saw the syndrome during the “Covid” scamdemic/panicdemic, of course. Anyone questioning the nonsense pumped out by Government or “SAGE” (I preferred “DUMB”— the Department Under Matt and Boris) was called a “Covidiot” by real idiots such as Piers Morgan.

You can send 200 to somewhere like Rwanda, maybe even 2,000; at a pinch, maybe even 20,000. You cannot, however, send 200,000, or 2 million, or 4 million, or 6 million or more.

Get rid of her.

The United States is afraid of losing Ukrainian troops before the November presidential elections, because it will be very bad for the Biden administration, and especially for Kamala Harris.

Ukraine, even with American or Western weapons, cannot improve the situation on the battlefield, but the White House has only one goal – to ensure that the Ukrainians do not fail before the elections ,” says John Mearsheimer, an American political scientist.

Zelensky in an interview with NBC News: Russia must be present at the second peace summit He said that Ukraine and the signatories of the Swiss resolution will work out a plan to end the war by this event and will propose it for the second summit.

“Representatives of Russia must be present there. We understand that without the Russian side, it is very difficult to end this war diplomatically. And all countries asked us to have representatives of the Russian Federation at the second summit. We said, we are not against it, let’s prepare a plan and invite them.”

Zelensky knows that the Kiev regime is losing. Russia cannot lose this war and will not lose it.

Peskov: Europe will have to deal with the consequences of the confrontation with Russia for a long time.

A horrible exploitative tribe.

Soon, only Zelensky and his cabal will have electricity.

Most cyclists, and almost all of the Lycra-clothing-silly-rubber-cap brigade, are a nuisance and a pest. King of the pests— Jeremy Vine.

Until I started this account, I would never have believed that foreigners were responsible for so many rapes, the stats are well hidden, an Asylum Seeker or Immigrant issued a passport and then arrested, will be recorded on crime stats as British and they’re under no obligation to give there religion or ethnicity.

This is why I’ve had to collect all the data manually, the only organisation that actually has it, is exempt from FOI requests @NCA_UK .

I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I believe the true figures are hidden from us on purpose.

Emrah Demirci, of Windmill Road, Cheshunt, was put behind bars after appearing at St Albans Crown Court today (Friday, April 14).”

Officially, there are about 11,000 “foreign” convicts in English prisons (i.e. in England and Wales), but if you include the ones who are really foreign but who hold UK passports, the figure is probably nearer to 30,000, maybe more. If you include all non-whites in UK prisons, that figure would rise to about 50,000, probably more.

Elimination or deportation of all non-Brit (non-real-Brit) prisoners would therefore free up about half of all the spaces in the prisons.

This has been the situation for many many years. Even when I was a Bar pupil nearly 35 years ago, most crime, the vast majority, in the London area, was being committed by non-whites, judging by the defendants seen in (and defended in) the London magistrates’ courts and Crown Courts.

What goes around comes around.

Whatever happens in the next few months, in the longer run Israel is doomed. The demographics of the region, and the advance in technology meaning that surrounding states become more powerful in terms of rockets etc (including possible atomic “suitcase bombs”), must mean that Israel as a state cannot survive.

In the long run (the very longest run), it would not matter if the population of the Earth were to reduce, temporarily, to a small community, or even only one couple, so long as it is the right community, the right couple: see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/01/26/the-tide-is-coming-in-reflections-on-the-possible-end-of-our-present-civilization-and-what-might-follow/.

Not only those…

The only major use I can see for wind turbines is as a reserve power source to keep the main services of the society running in situations of emergency.

Most people have the ingrained idea that “the Government” must be, surely, “on their side”, at least most of the time. The idea that “the Government” consists of conspiratorial cabals, power-hungry bastards, moneygrasping cheats etc, who hate the British people, is a frightening one, of course.

“Populism”, though, can be a dead end. The people are desperate for a new order, but “populism” alone cannot provide what is needed. Only social nationalism can do that, yet there is no significant party or movement that can provide it, certainly not in the UK.

The end of Vladimir Zelensky’s regime will happen in a few months, and probably even before the November presidential elections in America, according to Kim Dotcom.

” The Ukrainian leadership is now openly talking about the defeat in the conflict and blaming the West. We are a few months away from the end of Zelensky’s regime ,” he added.

Speaking about the situation in the USA, he said that “Kamala Harris and her party will sink like the Titanic”.

A doomed society.

What does she know? Nothing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_Powell.

…and “Labour”-label is going to waste £3 billion a year (indefinitely, or as long as the Kiev regime lasts) on Zelensky and his corrupt cabal…

[“but I voted Labour!“]

In a Lada Niva 4WD! I have not seen one of those for many many years.

I have driven one off-road previously, about 27 years ago, and in the former Soviet Union. I would have liked to have bought one here in the UK, but I cannot drive properly using standard shift (was never fully-taught to use manually-changed gears), and my UK licence only allows me to drive automatic cars.

Ritter: Zelensky is very worried.

The major operations of the Ukrainian army, including the invasion of the Kursk region, were organized primarily by Vladimir Zelensky with the aim of regularly demonstrating active military activity in order to obtain further financial support from the West, said retired American intelligence officer Scott Ritter. “

Zelensky is very concerned about the political component of this conflict, in terms of maintaining the flow of money and weapons to Kiev. He therefore often looks for opportunities to conduct military operations that will help promote the theory that Ukraine is capable of permanent resistance, which contradicts with reality ,” Ritter stated.

According to his words, the disastrous consequences of the previous operations clearly showed that the situation in the Kursk region should end with the defeat of Ukraine.

Exactly what I have been saying on the blog.

I hope that the UK police and “Clown” Prosecution Service are paying attention.

The evil in Yvette Cooper is patent. It cannot be concealed.

Expenses cheat. Money-grubber. Pro-mass-immigration. Dishonest. Hypocrite. Member of Labour Friends of Israel. Hostile to free speech. Would-be dictator. I hate everything about Yvette Cooper.

That is the sort of thing that happens when the population of a country only takes interest in rubbish such as spectator team sports, the Olympics, similar mass-oriented TV programming etc, and abdicates its citizen-responsibilities, leaving the field to NWO/ZOG puppets posing as “mainstream” politicians. The UK is much the same, as is the USA.

700. In a single day. So 700 migrant-invaders, all of which will now “have to be” sheltered, fed, given medical services, provided with cash etc. Call it £20,000 or more each per year, indefinitely. Then add costs of policing, courts, prison etc once some (if only a minority; so be it) start criminal activity. £30,000+ each per year. Overall, in conservative terms, Between £15M and £25M a year. That’s for ONE DAY’S CONTINGENT…

£25M that will now not be spent on British people, for British people’s health, welfare, transport, education, future.

I hate the traitors who enable this, from Starmer and Yvette Cooper (and most other Labour, LibDem and Con MPs) to the narcissistic, smug, allegedly or self-regardingly “well-meaning” idiots who hold up “refugees welcome” signs, tweet virtue-signalling nonsense, or oppose British people protesting about the evil.

I may not agree with everything Katie Hopkins says, and am not quite at one with her ideologically, but she is right about at least some of the big things.

Thankfully, the ridiculous Schauspiel for the masses called “the Olympics” largely passed me by (as usual), apart from my having seen video clips and photos of the “Satanic” (?) opening ceremony.

Of course, the “British” msm went crazy because the supposedly Brit team called “Team GB” won a few meaningless medals. Yawn.

The unlucky Ukrainian soldiers used in the Kursk incursion are, like all the Kiev-regime soldiery, being used by Zelensky’s evil regime as cannon-fodder. Dispensable. Many were press-ganged into service. Few if any now are volunteers.

As blogged previously, even were the Kiev regime forces to reach Kursk (city), the centre of the region, their extended lines would be vulnerable to both air (including missile) attack and also to flank attacks by armour and infantry. I also doubt whether the Kiev-regime forces can resupply an extended line of incursion for very long.

So far, it looks as though the forces of the Kiev regime have penetrated to a depth of about 20 miles from the border line.

The Kursk offensive comes after weeks of Russian advances in the east, where a succession of villages have been captured by the Kremlin’s forces.” [BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crkm08rv5m0o].

Note that, until now, the “free” UK/US msm has not reported even in passing that the Russian forces are achieving victory in the south-east and east of Ukraine.

The Kiev-regime incursion may have reached a depth of about 30 miles in some areas, such as the Lezhinka area noted in the BBC report, but that is still a long way (maybe 50 miles) from the city of Kursk itself.

Kursk (city) is about 327 miles from Moscow.

The world-conquering armoured and other forces of the German Reich faltered amid the huge empty spaces of (even) European Russia in the early 1940s. How much more pointless and unlikely to succeed is this Kiev-regime incursion, with its unwilling and poorly-trained soldiers?

In the end, were Russian forces to have to fall back to Kursk (city), which I feel is highly unlikely anyway, the Russian “stavka” (high command) could use masses of advanced conventional weapons such as thermobaric missiles and bombs to completely annihilate the Kiev-regime advance.

Actually, I feel sorry for the Ukrainian soldiers (and their families), who are mere pawns in the corrupt evil game of the Jew Zelensky and his Kiev cabal.

German expert: The maneuver in Kursk could mark the military end of Ukraine “

An attack on the Kursk area could lead to the military end of Ukraine, because its armed forces are inferior to the Russian army.

The Ukrainian brigades deployed in Donbass are quite worn out and were waiting to be replaced by new forces, which are now used to attack Kursk “, said Gustav Gressel in an interview for “Spiegel”.”

That Graham idiot is a complete Jewish-lobby/Israel lobby puppet, so his idea is not entirely unexpected.

I doubt that many retirement-age American pilots are desperate enough to want to fly for the Kiev regime, though. Even were the pay to be high, so is the chance of coming back to the USA in a body bag (if the pieces can be found). 20 years in the present version of the Gulag Archipelago is also rather uninviting.

I was slightly acquainted in 1996-1997 with a group of civilian American pilots in Kazakhstan, ex-Eastern Airlines, hired to fly the Kazakh President’s Boeing aircraft. Nice fellows, who had been cheated out of their pension in the U.S., but complete fish out of water in the post-Soviet and Russophone environment of Almaty. They could not even say hello or ask for a cup of coffee, and lived an isolated life in a dacha on the edge of town.

I wish I had one!

Eventually, this society will just break under the weight of numbers. Then we’ll see…

That’s right…it is not…

So, in the end, British free speech and civil rights were killed off, not by “Nazis”, and not by Communists (as such), but by a bespectacled, mealy-mouthed, charisma-free, little bureaucrat-lawyer turned Labour Party MP, with a Jewish wife and some buy-to-let properties.

“Sargon of Akkad” (Carl Benjamin) echoing, inter alia, my recent blog posts about the lack of legitimate mandate for Starmer-Labour. As said previously, out of every 20 people eligible to vote at GE 2024, 8 decided not to vote at all, perhaps because no social-national party or movement exists (as yet).

Out of every 20 eligible voters, and out of every 12 voters who voted, only 4 voted Labour (Con 3, Reform UK 2, LibDems 2, Greens 1), in rough terms.

The Starmer-Labour government has no legitimacy, and no mandate.

Colonies on other planets

Well, sad to say, that is nonsense. Human beings cannot live on other planets (the ones we know about) because the atmospheres are poisonous, and because the gravity is either too little or too great (meaning the human body cannot, over time, take the stresses).

There is no soil or water on other known planets which might be available for agriculture.

Other planets in our solar system are either too hot or too cold for human life to survive.

Several known planets are “gas giants”, and have no hard surface on which even to land or locate an artificial colony.

There is no way (short of somehow living in giant glass bubbles) for human beings even to live on the Moon, let alone Mars or Jupiter. There is also no point in human beings living —if they could— on other planets.

This whole idea of interplanetary colonization is a waste of effort. What it comes down to is a few billionaires who, however you look at it, have far too much money, and who are engaged in a puerile competition with each other, the prize seeming to be the status of having been the first to send loads of affluent tourists on joy-trips around the Earth and, eventually, Moon.

Incidentally, using current technology, it would take 200+ days to reach Mars. Jupiter? Between 600 days to get close, but up to 2,000 days to get into Jupiter’s orbit and/or land. So 2-6 years. Uranus? Perhaps 9 years. Neptune? Estimates vary between 9 and 18 years.

Musk and his fellow-ultra-rich should come down to Earth.

The Russian Army has destroyed a column of Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment that broke through in the Kursk region.

The enemy was moving in the Malaya Loknya area – this is approximately 15-20 km from the border.

The equipment stopped, where it was overtaken. The vehicles were destroyed by Ka-52M helicopters, and the infantry in the forest was finished off by artillery.

The Ukrainian (Kiev regime) advance appears to have no goal other than to reassure the suppliers of money and weapons in the West: “look what we can do!” etc.

The Kiev regime has insufficient men and armour to penetrate Russia more deeply, and it has no supply capability for such a serious operation. The Kiev regime advance will (even taking it at face value) run out of steam and then be unable to resupply its columns.

If the Wehrmacht in the early 1940s found itself lost in the vast prostor (apparently-limitless space) of Russia, how could Zelensky’s pitiful forces do better?

Is the Kiev regime trying to get Russia to use tactical nuclear weapons (either in the field or on Kiev) as a way of dragging NATO into the war directly? Let us hope not.

So despite the relatively young age of the defendant, despite the fact that the judge decided not to ask for any pre-sentence reports, and despite the fact that the defendant pleaded guilty, the judge in his wisdom decided to inflict upon the defendant an immediate custodial sentence of no less than 3 years (plus that mean little extra two months). Purely political, emanating from “two-tier Keir”, his recent poundshop-dictatorship speech, and his pathetic “Lord Chancellor” [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabana_Mahmood#Early_life_and_career].

I know nothing about the case or the defendant but, in view of the harsh sentence, frankly my feeling is that he might as well have pleaded not guilty and gone for jury trial. He might have struck lucky.

It occurs to me that the present wave of repression in the UK has, as its psychological foundation, the way in which a medically-camouflaged police state structure of law and regulation was set up during 2020-2021; the years of the “Covid” panicdemic/scamdemic. The System was interested to see how craven most people were, meekly giving in to the demand to “wear a mask!” (in some places but not in others), “keep 2 metres apart!” (in some places) and all the other nonsense, such as the crazy and arbitrary “Rule of 6” made up by stupid poseur “Boris” Johnson. All that and, even more Draconian, the “lockdown(s)”.

We saw during the “panicdemic” how the courts at first went along with all the nonsense, though sense generally prevailed later on. As for the police, their behaviour during the “Covid” scam was nothing short of absolutely disgusting. Now look— they are again acting as a poundland KGB or Stasi.

You must be joking…

The media narrative that endowed the [defunct] English Defence League & right-wing figures with formidable organising resources was & remains the invention of the propaganda machine of the British Establishment.

No doubt right-wing activists posted provocative statements & a handful participated in rioting. But their influence has been blown out of proportion to inflate the role & threat posed by the far right”

– Frank Furedi Substack.

Quite. The bottle-throwers and/or “Tommy Robinson” fans are just an amorphous mass, pointed in this or that direction by those behind the “controlled opposition”.

This can only end one way, but under the already -considerable repression in the UK, I cannot specify anything without having to endure —yet again— the boring nuisance of having to talk to police drones at my door (as has happened a number of times in the past decade), and must therefore hope that readers can read between the lines, as in all authoritarian/totalitarian states…

Britain’s almost 60-year experiment in hate-speech legislation is a warning to the world. We first introduced an offence of ‘inciting racial hatred’ in 1965, in the Race Relations Act. Fast forward to today and we now have laws against ‘incitement to religious hatred’, ‘grossly offensive’ online communications and a police force who routinely harass women for calling men men on the internet. Cops have also taken to quietly recording ‘non-crime hate incidents’ against citizens’ names, when the pesky law gets in the way of their authoritarianism.

The upshot of this is a scale of speech-policing that is surely unprecedented in our history. In 2017, an investigation by The Times found that nine people a day were being arrested for ‘posting allegedly offensive messages online’ – with 3,395 arrested in 2016 alone. Even then, that investigation was limited to one piece of legislation – the Communications Act – and the real number is almost certainly higher, not least because many police forces didn’t respond to the survey. Greg Lukianoff, president of America’s estimable Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, argues that, on the basis of those partial numbers alone, Britain is comfortably locking up more people today for speech crimes than America did during the first Red Scare.

When people think of hate-speech laws they probably imagine some vicious fascist, being dawn-raided for airing toxic, ancient hatreds. There’s still a bit of that. But as those racist rioters remind us, while they are mercifully small in number, censoring racists doesn’t make racists go away – it just forces them to spew their bile out of sight, at the fringes and in fetid echo chambers, where they can’t be clocked or challenged. What’s more, there are many supposed speech criminals who – while offensive to some – are hardly dangerous bigots. There’s Count Dankula, the YouTuber who was convicted in Scotland for making a ‘grossly offensive’ comedy video in which he taught his pug to do a Nazi salute. Feminist Kate Scottow was convicted of causing ‘needless anxiety’ via persistent ‘misgendering’ – thankfully, that one was overturned. Christian street preachers are often arrested by the police for airing their predictably less-than-liberal views on homosexuality and transgenderism. This has been going on for decades now. Indeed, it’s been almost 20 years since Sam Brown, a student at Oxford University, was famously arrested for calling a police horse gay.

More alarmingly, the British state is increasingly taking an interest in things people say in private. There have been a few cases now in which people in England have been convicted for racist posts made in private WhatsApp groups. In Scotland, the great, sinister innovation of Humza Yousaf’s Hate Crime Act is that it forgoes the usual dwelling defence – a feature of existing hate-speech legislation that prohibits arrest over speech uttered in your own home. Now, any Scottish dinner-table chat could be a crime scene.

Certainly, incitement to violence, true threats and so on are crimes in every civilised society – even in America, where the First Amendment renders any censorship of speech and the press unconstitutional. But ‘incitement to hatred’ and ‘grossly offensive’ speech are different things entirely. One man’s hatred is another man’s passionately held moral conviction. Offence is always in the eye of the beholder. We all think we know hate or offence when we see it, but at the end of the day everyone will draw the line slightly differently. You’re then left with someone having to decide, and nowadays that means someone like Keir Starmer – a man who until about five minutes ago thought it is ‘not right’ to say that only women can have a cervix.

[Spiked magazine]

Part of all that is also to do with the numbers of people now in the UK who are actually either foreign and born overseas, or foreign, born of foreign parents, but in the UK.

Such people are now often to be found in public sector jobs, having acquired a degree from one of Britain’s new “universities” (with their ingrained “antifascist”-type bias). Police, probation people, civil servants, lawyers, academics, MPs, “journalists” (ill-informed scribblers), TV talking heads etc.

They are the foot-soldiers of the “woke” police state, and have no centuries of freedom of expression, or the struggles for that, to look back upon. They just have no inbred respect for free speech.

Sadly, their numbers now include English/British people as well, many of whom are entirely ignorant of English history, let alone world history, and have no respect for, or even understanding of, freedom of expression, free speech.

Another step on the UK’s road to perdition. Already, almost any criticism or even observation made about Jews, or Jewish behaviour, is likely to be treated as some kind of “hate speech”, either by police and CPS drones, or by the self-appointed defenders of Jewish/Zionist “entitlement”, such as the malicious and so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”].

Already, the laws of the UK are such that almost any leading historical thinkers such as Jesus Christ, St. Paul, Luther, Marx, Nietzsche etc would be prosecuted were they alive and living in contemporary Britain.

(An old one, but still relevant on the whole).

Whatever the nuances of housing supply and demand, mass immigration is the major factor in driving up both purchase prices and rental costs.

Between 500,000 and a million new “inhabitants” in the UK every single year, almost all non-white, non-European, newcomers.

Only idiots such as now-washed-up former MP, Pakistani pro-Israel puppet and Muslim apostate, Sajid Javid cannot see, or refuse to accept, the connection

(Make that 10M+, though, not 4M…)

Let me get this straight: Keir Starmer is releasing violent criminals from prison just to replace them with people who commit thought crimes on @X. And he is spending police resources investigating and going after people for retweets and Facebook posts when there is a shitload of violent crime all over Britain.

There is an historical precedent of sorts for what Starmer etc are doing.

In Stalin’s day, the Soviet criminal legal system regarded ordinary, i.e. real, criminals as “class allies“. They got far more lenient sentences for their crimes of acquisition or violence than either the so-called “former people” (aristocrats and the middle classes), i.e. “class enemies“, usually sentenced for what they were, rather than what they had done, or the political prisoners, the most harshly-treated of all, who were regarded as terrorists, saboteurs, or simple traitors, even if they had done nothing but write a socio-political critique, or even a poem.

“Counter-offensive against Russia” – Zelensky’s most risky decision, which has been secretly planned for months, Kiev is taking risks with the army and technology, according to The Times of London, citing sources

Main points from the article citing high sources in Kyiv:

Zelensky pressured the military leadership to start an offensive for months in complete secrecy.

In Kiev, they want to change the narrative that Ukraine is losing the war.

Ukraine would attack Russia even without Western permission.

This is the most risky decision since the beginning of the war, because Moscow will do everything to regain the territories.

The forces allocated for this operation range from 6,000 to 10,000 soldiers (probably more in reality).

The military leadership is ready to risk soldiers and expensive equipment in order to achieve something in this direction.

As blogged previously, this operation is a propaganda/public relations exercise.

The Kiev regime has no military objective in sight, unless it is to reach Kursk, 77 miles from Sudzha where the front-line seems to be at present.

In the unlikely event that the Kiev-regime forces reach and take Sudzha, and then move up the good-quality 2-lane highway to Kursk, all that will happen will be that those forces will be encircled and destroyed by air as well as armour.

The Kiev regime is running out of soldiers, even recently recruited (pressed into service) ones. It also has no logistics capability to sustain a deep thrust into Russian territory. Russian air power must be all but unchallenged in the Kursk region.

There is more than one way of removing a dictatorial regime.

Former Pentagon Analyst: Ukraine Simply Cannot Win, and F-16s Will Be Destroyed on the Ground

Ukraine and its Western partners have no military strategy in the conflict with Russia, former Pentagon analyst Karen Kwiatkowski notes on Judging Freedom.

According to her, Ukraine is fundamentally incapable of winning — and no F-16s will change that: they will be hit not even in the sky, but at their parking spots.

Ash Sarkar is put forward as the articulate voice of the (in her case, second-generation) non-European living in the UK. The fact is that, even taking her at face value, she is an example of maybe one out of every hundred if not thousand.

“Out there” on the streets, Britain is becoming a multikulti dustbin, full of those who are not British in any real sense, and not a few who are little more than semi-savages.

Not someone in whom I take a great interest, and I only knew of her existence from a relatively few years ago, as far as I can recall. However, she (meaning her life) seems to me to personify certain aspects of what is wrong with this country.

See also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katie_Price#Early_life.

The odd life and downward progress of Katie Price also somewhat reminds me of a far more literate, though I think not very nice person, Jeffrey Bernard, who was once described as “having made a career from writing about dying from cirrhosis“. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Bernard.

Bernard’s Spectator column could be, sometimes, brilliantly funny. More often, it was simply absent, with what became the standard apologia, “Jeffrey Bernard is unwell“, below a substituted piece by someone else.

Incidentally, I once had a copy of the book about him, Just the One (referring to his habit of saying —usually inaccurately— that he had popped into a pub for one drink only). Really funny, though sad too in places.

It becomes ever more obvious that nothing much works properly in the UK, from the prison service to the NHS to the legal system to…well, you name it.

Conservative Home’s poll, though, is only persuasive in effect, because Conservative Party MPs, not Party members, will choose the two final leadership candidates to be put before the whole membership: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Conservative_Party_leadership_election#Timetable.

While the most recent semi-official membership figure is around 172,000 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservative_Party_(UK)#Membership], it seems likely that the real figure is maybe 100,000, if that.

Good grief. That is, apparently, “a senior police officer“…

Britain in 2024…

Look at recent Sky News and BBC News coverage. Almost like TV news in the old Soviet Union or DDR (East Germany).

“Shadows on the wall of the cave”…

As in Stalin’s Soviet Union— people arrested who are genuinely puzzled as to why, saying “why am I here?“, or “I haven’t done anything“, or “what have I done?

Two-tier Keir’s emerging police state.

That little Director of Public Prosecutions bastard is a typical police-state drone bureaucrat.

What happens, and what has happened in history, when every form of peaceful socio-political protest, criticism, or even analysis, is shut down? As people say, “answers on a postcard…”

Incidentally, many will know of that Basu bastard (now only a former policeman), who is sometimes quoted on TV or in the lying Press as an “expert” on “extremism”, “terrorism” etc, and who, risibly, was apparently the UK’s chief of (police) counter-intelligence. He is often spouting nonsense about how almost everything “far right” etc must be repressed. Another supporter of the upcoming (unless stopped) multikulti “woke” police state.

See also my piece from about 6 years ago about the tendency to a police state in the UK, that even then was coming out into the open:

Quite. Out of every 20 eligible voters, 8 did not vote. Of the 12 that did, 4 voted Labour, 3 Conservative, 2 Reform UK, 2 LibDem, and 1 Green.

The regime of “two-tier Keir” has no legitimacy, no mandate. If the courts and general legal and justice system are not exercizing their proper independence, but are simply obeying the purported diktats of “two-tier Keir” and that bureaucrat-drone who seems to be the new Director of Public Prosecutions, then the courts themselves have no legitimacy.

Britain is now travelling rather quickly down the path of becoming a multikulti “woke” police state— a tyranny.

I can’t stomach these MPs gloating about incredibly young men being locked” up for years

These are lads who feel utterly powerless and disenfranchised, raised in a system that’s taught them they have nothing and can never accumulate anything.

During the Black Lives Matter protests, left-wing commentators argued that protest, vandalism, and even violence were necessary to highlight injustice. I disagreed then, and I do now, but where are those voices today?

There IS an obvious injustice: the British working class has been maligned, slandered, ignored, fobbed off, and lied to for a generation. They can’t buy a house, their kids are in overcrowded classrooms, and they watch as illegal migrants get private accommodation for free. How is that not something to be angry about?

Our political class prioritizes everyone else’s interests over theirs. These politicians are clueless about the real struggles these young men face.

Abandoned, left to fend for themselves, and when they finally lash out, we throw away the key. It’s disgraceful. Instead of addressing the root causes of their anger, they fan the flames, and believe me, they’re not alone in their fury.

The United States, like the UK, has experienced since the 1980s a decline in the quality of its politicians which is still continuing.

https://www.mattgoodwin.org/p/why-kamala-harris-would-be-a-disaster

“…In fact, I’d go even further by stating the obvious. Kamala Harris, in reality, is only Vice President of the United States because she happens to tick the relevant identity boxes that according to the modern left need to be ticked. Woman? Tick. African American? Tick. She has basically benefitted from a system that is now hard-wired to promote certain identity groups over others, based on little more than these boxes.”

Multicultural societies cannot exist except as transitional entities. Where does that leave our present society in the UK?

Sunak’s government of clowns really is running on empty.

Natalie Elphicke pretended to stay loyal to her foolish husband while he was on trial for pathetic minor sex crimes, divorced him after he was convicted and imprisoned, and arranged to replace him as Conservative Party MP for Dover. Now, realizing that the game is up, she defects to Labour! About as trustworthy as any triple agent…

Does that mean that she will be the Labour candidate for Dover at GE 2024? I should have thought not.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natalie_Elphicke#Personal_life.

Having said that, Natalie Elphicke is unarguably right about Sunak’s bad joke government. The very roads are like something out of the Ukraine now— potholed, rutted, unrepaired or, at best, poorly-patched.

I started to comment on the blog years ago about how, not overnight but over 10-15 or more years (even pre-dating “Conservative” governments post-2010) “nothing works in Britain these days”. The newspapers started to say the same a couple of years ago. Now, hardly anyone would argue about it.

It will be interesting to see whether Natalie Elphicke, if not adopted as Labour candidate for the Dover constituency, stands as Independent. It might be tight between Con and Lab anyway, but with Reform UK in the mix (and very likely to do well), and Natalie Elphicke potentially standing as Independent, it could be a very close contest indeed. She might even win.

Come to think of it, Natalie Elphicke might have done better to have defected to Reform UK, which would probably have made her its Dover candidate, and with a reasonable shot at winning in a three-way split.

[Kensington Roof Gardens, London, which date back to the 1930s]

London has large areas of unused roof space which could be turned into green space; not necessarily all open to the public, but still a haven for birds and a recreational resource for individual people, families, employee groups etc.

I had such ideas back in the mid/late 1970s, when I happened to see some of the views from the roof areas of tall buildings: a couple of the then-tall buildings of the City of London (now dwarfed by the new high buildings, of course), the British Gas building at Marble Arch etc; both during the daytime and at night.

Since those times, others with similar ideas but more resources have actually been able to make a few projects a reality. There remains huge scope.

Health authorities have admitted that mRNA jabs can cause potentially fatal heart issues, and published post-mortems have recorded heart-related vaccine deaths.

Despite this, not one mainstream news outlet has looked at the role covid vaccinations could have played in the huge increase in heart problems. Instead, our health watchdog, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), continues to call vaccine-induced myocarditis and pericarditis ‘rare’, despite admitting a 90 per cent under-reporting rate (it could be as high as 99 per cent), and continues to blame SARS-CoV-2 infection.

I was unaware that Amsterdam is now 56% migrant. That figure does not even include all migrants who arrived over the past 50 years, or their offspring.

Very sad. When I first and briefly visited the Netherlands, aged maybe 8, in 1964 or 1965, there were no migrants, effectively.

When I returned alone, in 1975, aged 18, there were few. Later, on trips in the 1980s, Dutch friends of my family were complaining about the behaviour of the few (I think Turks, or possibly others from Turkey) who had somehow moved to their part of Amsterdam (a relatively-new suburb in or by North Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Noord): thefts of bicycles, littering etc— maybe “petty”, but already slowly changing their decent (and fairly new) neighbourhood into a declining and less pleasant one.

My last visit to the Netherlands, other than using Schiphol airport a number of times, was in the mid-1980s. More recently, I heard from Dutch friends how things had changed, and not for the better. Drugs, crime generally, an immigrant takeover in some parts of the city etc. This all co-incided with economic problems, housing shortages (mass immigration again), considerable job insecurity, and a general cultural decline.

Sad.

As with the Swedes, the Dutch made the mistake of allowing decent tolerance to become indecent licence, and of allowing a kind welcome for a few non-Europeans to become an open invitation for any and all, millions of them.

Britain made, and is still making, the same or similar mistakes, and is also indoctrinating its young people with the same pathetic and weak pseudo-ideology that is eroding white Europe from within.

Incidentally, I just saw this, about WW2 bombing of Amsterdam-Noord:

In the Second World War the industry fields in Amsterdam-Noord were the target of the air bombings by the Allied Forces.[1]

The Fokker factories were the 17 July 1943 bombings’ goal, but the bombs of the United States Army Air Forces fell on the surrounding residential areas, causing 158 deaths and 119 seriously injured as a result.

The British’ Royal Air Force and Free French Air Forces both did another attempt to bomb the factory on 25 and 28 July, resulting in the death of 200 citizens in total by the three raids.[2]

Only the British Forces managed to bomb the targeted airplane factory, all other bombs fell on residential areas in Amsterdam-Noord. This is the heaviest air bombardment that ever hit Amsterdam. 106 houses were destroyed, 206 houses heavily damaged and 676 houses suffered glass and roof damage. Every year a memorial ceremony takes place on 17 July at De Nieuwe Noorder cemetery.”

For my views about LBC, a radio station (ultimately) owned by a very pro-Israel Jew, see previous days’ blog posts, or use the search box on the blog.

…and look at the “Israeli” police: at least one shown is African, presumably a descendant of the “Jews” flown from Ethiopia by MOSSAD and the CIA in the 1980s and 1990s; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_Israel#Immigration_to_Israel.

Apparently, there are about 155,000 Ethiopian “Jews” in Israel today. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_Israel. Half of them were born and brought up there. Their historical origins are rather obscure: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_Israel#Origins. Some people believe that the African “Jews” were slaves or servants of Jews resident in ancient Egypt, and took up their customs, but that theory has as little evidence, or less, than numerous other theories.

Those Israeli police are even more free with their swinging batons than are the traffic cops in Moscow, the GAI (as was). The Israeli police truncheons seem to be longer than the Russian ones (or the old British type, now replaced by extendable metal ones). The Russian traffic cops usually swing their batons menacingly as they stand in the street, as if just waiting for a chance to use them; the Israeli batons seem more like the NYPD “nightsticks”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Directorate_for_Traffic_Safety.

Jews often say or talk, or write, or tweet about how Palestinian Arabs should draw a line under the fact that the Jews stole most of “Israel”, particularly during the 1948 “Nakba”, in the following years, and engaged in ethnic cleansing; whole villages killed by Jewish execution squads; men, women, and children shot after having been restrained by having their hands and/or feet tied.

The Palestinian Arabs, say the Jews, should “move on”, forget about the Jews’ ethnic cleansing, the massacres of civilians, the theft of land, houses, apartments etc, and make another life for themselves in Jordan, or Lebanon, and not keep talking about the catastrophe visited upon them.

Strangely enough, the very same Jews who say that never shut up about the events of the 1930s and especially early 1940s, when they say Jews were massacred etc by Germans, Poles, Ukrainians, Baltic people etc. In fact, a whole industry of books, films, often “faction” (fiction disguised as “fact”, or “near-fact”) has grown up with those events (true or not) as its subject-matter.

His expenses have been questioned at times, and he seems to engage in private business activities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Mercer_(politician)#Expenses. Having said that, Mercer’s vote-share has increased from 37.6% in 2015, through 51.9% in 2017, to 60.7% in 2019. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Moor_View_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s.

You are talking about a country (USA) where a tiny minority are incredibly well-informed (maybe 1%, being diplomatic about it), where about 5% are reasonably well-informed, and where maybe 94% know very little about anything beyond their everyday lives and situations. The 94% are easily manipulated by the American msm which is mostly owned, staffed, and influenced by “the usual suspects”.

In other words, opinion polling of the American people reveals, to an even greater extent than polling of British people, what the people have been spoonfed by the (((msm))).

National Socialism in Germany promoted health: physical health, moral and ethical health, spiritual health, cultural health, and the healthy evolution of the whole people or Volk in a Volksgemeinschaft or folk-community. They cut away unhealthy cancerous growths in the body politic, and in society as a whole.

Con and Lab are both nests of traitors, both parties being (in reality) signed up to the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalergi_Plan.

Anyone’s guess, as far as the 2024 Westminster election is concerned (GE 2024), but my take is that tens of millions of British people are just sick of experiencing how nothing works any more in this country, from local right up to national level. They just want all this utter shite to stop. Labour will probably be unable to do much better, but what people want now, first of all, is to put the Conservative Party on a pyre, and then set light to it.

As to “how low” will the Con vote go at GE 2024, my view, formed over the past year or two, stands at present somewhere below 20%. The latest YouGov poll puts the Cons at about 18%.

My use of Electoral Calculus [https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html] on those figures puts the Con MP cadre after GE 2024 at 31 MPs (Labour 519, LibDem 58). On that basis, the Conservative Party will not even be the official Opposition.

Even if those figures are wildly out, it looks as if 2024 may be the swansong for the Con Party as both “the natural party of government” and even as the natural main opposition party.

So the younger generation(s) prefer white bread? Very unhealthy.

Britain can no longer protect itself from missiles and drones.

The UK is “increasingly vulnerable” to the threat of missile and drone attacks. Decades of savings have undermined its air defenses, experts warn. London has highly effective means, but they are no longer enough to protect the vast amount of critical infrastructure across the country, as well as troops abroad, Sky News reports.

The situation is exacerbated by the increasing quality and quantity of missiles and drones developed by hostile states such as Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.

The Royal Air Force currently has just nine squadrons of fast jets, down from 30 at the end of the Cold War. The Royal Navy’s six Type 45 destroyers are equipped with the country’s only missile defense systems. But only three of those ships are “available for operations,” including one in the Middle East, according to a Navy spokesman.

On land, the military has about six Sky Saber ground-based air defense systems, each capable of shooting down multiple missiles. But at least two of them – and perhaps more – are deployed overseas, and those in the UK have a very limited range.

Britain benefits from its geographical location, with many European NATO countries located between its shores and Russia. However, the air defense of many European countries was also reduced in order to save money after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Sky News notes.
