Water under the bridge now, of course, but if only Russia had decapitated the Kiev regime at the start, in 2022, eliminated Zelensky and his immediate cabal, and taken Kiev by a mass parachute assault using the VDV and Spetsnaz forces available, followed by a push through using armour and infantry. That would have finished the regime in Kiev within days, and prevented the attritional war we have seen since, with its huge loss of life, misery for both humans and animals, and widespread devastation.

Freeman: As soon as the Ukrainians swing even more strongly on the fronts – a new government may appear in Kyiv.

FORMER AMERICAN DIPLOMAT CONVINCED THAT THE UKRAINIAN ARMY WILL NOT SURVIVE UNTIL NOVEMBER WHEN the Ukrainians are even stronger, definitely swaying on the fronts, a new government could appear in Kyiv, ready to accept the true state of affairs in the conflict with Russia, former American diplomat Ches Freeman said. And immediately additionally concluded: “Mr. Zelensky may become a victim of his own intransigence, and a new government may emerge in Kyiv that will be more willing to acknowledge the true state of affairs instead of denying it.”

Freeman noted that many in Ukraine are aware of the need for negotiations, but the head of the Kyiv regime has banned them from taking place. In his opinion, this should be abandoned. He also added that the Ukrainian armed forces probably won’t last even until November.”

The reality is that Russia should take all Ukraine east of the Dnieper, and the coastal areas of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. A viable independent Ukraine can then come into being in the rest of the country, and centred on Lvov. Kiev and its immediate hinterland can become some kind of autonomous city, rather as Danzig (now Gdansk) was in the period 1920-1939.

Jewish terrorists.

Tell us something we don’t know…

As a matter of fact, even 1997 was not 1997 (as normally and wrongly thought to be, i.e. a popular landslide): in 1997, Blair Labour, thanks to FPTP voting, ended up with about 65% of Commons seats, but its popular vote was only 43.2% (Conservatives 30.7%; LibDems 16.8%; others 9.4%). Far more people, even of those who voted, did not want Labour as compared to those that did.

It is truer to say that, while those that did vote Labour in 1997 were enthusiastic about it, those who now tell pollsters that they intend to vote Starmer-Labour at GE 2024 (about the same percentage, circa 42%-48%) are almost all not enthusiastic about it, but just want rid of the present “Conservative” misgovernment, as do almost all other intending voters (present polling gives Sunak’s party a mere 18%).

I myself was not living the UK in 1997 (I was in Kazakhstan, only returning to the UK in late September 1997, though I had been back in the UK for about 2 weeks during February-March 1997), and so missed the UK election campaign and the election itself.

The unsustainable migration invasion will break British society apart within a few years; not suddenly, not overnight, but steadily and unstoppably, until a complete breakdown occurs. After that, anything is possible.

“Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst”

Russia chose the most inopportune moment for Kyiv for its offensive in the Kharkov region Russia, by opening another front in the Kharkov region, is creating additional pressure on the forces of Kyiv, which are currently already suffering from a shortage of weapons and people, Sky News reports.

Moscow decided to act, choosing the most inopportune moment for Kyiv for its offensive. Russian troops are already gradually advancing in the Donbass, approaching the city of Chasov Yar. If this Ukrainian stronghold falls, it will give Russian troops the opportunity to more easily strike the rest of the Donbass, putting key cities such as Kramatorsk at risk.

By intensifying attacks in the Kharkov direction, Russia can force the Ukrainian command to transfer reserves from the east to the northeast, thereby weakening its defensive line in the Donbass, which is already under enormous strain.

The situation is further aggravated by delays in the supply of additional weapons and ammunition from Western allies.

The Kiev regime has no “Western allies“, just aid-givers, bribe-givers, bribe-takers, and warmongers.

If Kharkov itself can be taken this year, the war will be close to ending. The whole of Ukraine east of the Dnieper will, in that contingency, be taken by Russian forces pushing from north, east, and south.

Kharkov is Ukraine’s second city, with a (pre-war) population of 1.5M: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kharkiv. How many remain now is uncertain; perhaps 1M.

This is the year when Russia must take Kharkov, advance across the eastern part of Ukraine generally, and destroy not only the electricity infrastructure of the part of Ukraine west of the Dnieper (particularly Kiev itself), but also major rail and road links and bridges linking the east and west parts of the country.

Even by the standards of American Israeli-owned politicians, that cretin pretty much takes the biscuit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindsey_Graham.

“Russian attacks open a new front in Ukraine”:

Austria is confident that Ukraine will lose most of its army if it decides to hold the region instead of surrendering the Kharkov region.

“Retired Austrian Colonel Mick Ryan believes the coming weeks will be very grim for Ukrainian ground forces in the east. Attempts to hold the area will result in the loss of most of the army. The result could be a serious test and “one of the most difficult moments for Ukraine in the war.

The offensive of the Russian army in the Kharkov direction has become the largest. This could undermine the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, Ukraine must be careful in its response given its depleted military. Deliveries of the long-delayed American aid package are just beginning to reach the front lines.”

The aftermath of my sentencing hearing

I was expecting a storm (even if in a teacup) after my sentencing, rather as happened after I was wrongfully and unlawfully disbarred in 2016. The Crown Prosecution Service (or should that be Clown Prosecution Service?) also seem to have been expecting a great deal more interest from Press and public than there has been.

The CPS posted this:

A disbarred barrister who posted grossly offensive antisemitic material online has been sentenced.

Between May 2021 and April 2022, Ian Robert Millard persistently posted about his hatred of Jewish people online, while claiming he was simply exercising his freedom of speech.

Statements made by Millard included that ‘there is nothing wrong with being antisemitic’, that England would ‘be a great deal better’ with more antisemitism and suggestions that the Holocaust was ‘fake history’.

He also posted imagery which portrayed antisemitic conspiracy theories.

Working closely with Hampshire Constabulary, the CPS trawled through twelve months’ worth of evidence from Millard’s blog.

Unpicking the evidence, piece by piece, including one month of posts alone which totalled 450 pages, prosecutors were able to show the continuous barrage of offensive material – all of which needed to be considered by prosecutors to build the strongest possible case.

At trial, prosecutors utilised the evidence to prove Millard was not simply expressing his freedom of speech, but was engaged in a campaign of antisemitic hate, publishing grossly offensive material which breached the Communications Act.

Having been found guilty after trial of five charges of breaching the Communications Act, Millard, 67 and of the New Forest, was sentenced at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 14 March 2024 and received a nine month Community Order.

Sophie Stevens, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor with CPS Wessex, said: “Antisemitism has a devastating impact on individuals and communities – we won’t hesitate to bring offenders of hate crime to justice.

“This was a complex prosecution which required many hours scrutinising the masses of online content that Ian Millard deemed perfectly acceptable.

[Crown Prosecution Service public/Press statement]

A few points about that.

Firstly, the malicious and politically-motivated pro-Israel group, “Campaign Against Antisemitism”, or “CAA” (effectively a volunteer arm of the Israeli Embassy) have admitted on both their website and Twitter/X account that they brought political pressure to bear on the CPS to prosecute me for something/anything, including a letter written directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions by “Lord” Ian Austin, the notorious ex-MP. The “CAA” campaign against me has lasted a whole decade now.

Second, the words allegedly used on the blog were “…a lot better for a little more defensive antisemitism“. The CPS has left out that important qualifier.

Thirdly, imagine the waste of public money in which the CPS has indulged. Hundreds, if not thousands, of pages of blog material, examined minutely. A court process involving some half dozen days or part-days of hearing during 2023 and 2024. Instruction of outside Counsel to appear at each hearing etc.

Also, months of enforced activity by me as I fought to defend myself without any legal or financial assistance; a certain amount of stress, inevitably. The necessity to drive to Southampton several times, too.

The result? Slightly more severe than I had hoped (I was hoping for a conditional discharge or small fine of about £200), but far less severe than the “CAA” and its horrible supporters wanted to see. They really wanted the manacles on me, to quote the late Sir Roger Hollis.

So. 15 meetings with the Probation Service spread over the next 9 months. Also, a nearly £800 costs order and “surcharge” [see also https://www.givesendgo.com/GC14J].

Notice how the CPS was obviously desperate to have the result of my case in the newspapers, even adding “Notes for Editors” to its statement.

The question now is whether the CPS will be pressured further by the “CAA” to take other action against me, particularly in respect of blog posts in late 2023 and early 2024 (after conviction but prior to sentence). Needless to say, all further attacks will be vigorously defended, should push come to shove.

Looking at the CPS statement, the old saying “it ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings” comes to mind.

As for the blog, I have already announced that, while the blog will continue to be published daily, or near-daily, its content will inevitably have to change slightly, be more diplomatic etc. Also, I hope to shift the emphasis from comment more towards how to build for the future.

Naturally, in a situation where free speech is all but dead in this country, I cannot invite further politically-motivated prosecutions. I must tread the line, as did Sir Thomas More [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_More], between (metaphorically, in my case) keeping my head on my shoulders, and staying true to principle and honour.

There have been a few tweets about my trial and sentence. The “no-one watches” Talk TV (part of the mass media empire founded by the ancient billionaire, Rupert Murdoch), tweeted thus:

https://talk.tv/top-stories/54441/ian-millard-antisemitic-antisemitism-convicted-posts-nazi

As one would expect from a Murdoch operation, there is dishonesty in that tweet. For one thing, the image and quotation is from my old Twitter/X account. The Jewish lobby or members of it had Twitter delete my account in 2018, almost 6 years ago, and the tweet probably comes from well before even that date.

I notice that Talk TV’s tweet has had some 3,400 views, yet only 9 people have “liked” it, and only 9 (presumably the same 9) have retweeted it. About a quarter of one percent. So somewhere between 99.5%-100% are either with me or are just not very interested in the story.

The tweet by the “Clown” Prosecution Service followed the same pattern. No less than 13,000 people have apparently viewed it, but only 85 have “liked” it, and even fewer (29) have retweeted it. 85 out of 13,000; about half of one percent. So —again— about 99% of people are either with me or are not terribly interested in what the CPS has to say.

Millard and the People!” (?) (and with apologies to Ceausescu).

I suppose that it proves how nervous the System is at the popular mood under the surface. People in the UK may be unaware of their own unconscious political preferences…

I noticed that one clown tweeter seems unable to read:

Ha ha. What an idiot.

One of the few other reply-tweets about the matter:

There were a couple of tweets from the individual below, a kind of online stalker, who even copied his pathetic whining tweet to the CPS and police:

That lunatic (he is actually a mental case of some sort, on medication) has been making silly and rude remarks about me for many years, and inciting various people, various organizations, the few who bother to read his tweets, against me.

If I had more money (well, it is just possible that I might hit the Euromillions lottery…), I should apply for a Norwich Pharmacal Order, thus have his identity and address confirmed (like others, he may not be quite as anonymous as he thinks anyway), and then take legal action against him. That would prove expensive for him…

For more about that lunatic, and others of similar type, see this blog post from 5 years ago: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/07/18/theyre-coming-to-take-me-away-ha-ha/. In that article, I examined the strong links between “antifascism”, Zionism, and mental illness, linkages rarely if ever noted by the mainstream media.

This was tweeted too, by the “Searchlight” “organization” (one old “you know who” in an East London backroom):

Note that “Searchlight“, which has been tracking me since about 1975, is completely washed-up.

Their tweet (politely pretending that it is more than one individual…) has had (after 2 days) only 575 views, and only 5 “likes”. Malicious, but ultimately pathetic, idiot(s).

In fact, I see that “Searchlight” only has about 2,800 “followers” on Twitter/X. When I was expelled at the behest of the Jewish/Zionist/Israel lobby in 2018, I already had over 3,000, and by now would have had probably at least 10,000 (which, of course, was why “they” had me expelled…).

This time round, there has been no interest by Sky TV, the Daily Mail (the scribbler whom I believe was in charge of my disbarment story in 2016 has left and is now the editor of…the Jewish Chronicle!) etc. Only the BBC, the “no-one watches it” Talk TV, and a small provincial newspaper which describes me as “disgraced barrister“. “Disgraced“? Now I think I know from (((where))) that description comes…

I may be disbarred, but am not disgraced except in the little minds of the “usual suspects” and the fools who listen to them.

Incidentally, there were no reporters at all at the sentencing hearing, so that “journalist” (stupid scribbler) has taken his “report” straight from the “CAA” and/or CPS.

There is a lot of news around at present: the Israeli mass slaughter of women and children in Gaza, the Russian elections, the now rather rapid destruction of the misnamed “Conservative” Party. Even in the area of so-called “far-right” “extremism”, on the very same day that I was sentenced (last Thursday), a supposed “far-right” or “neo-Nazi” young man was sentenced to over 2 years in prison for having done not very much.

In view of all that, the story about the retired barrister who said a few supposedly “grossly offensive” things about Jews etc on his blog (read by a fairly small number of people worldwide), and allegedly posted a few cartoons, hardly makes the cut.

I suppose that I should be grateful to, especially, the CPS and the “CAA”, as well as Talk TV, the BBC, and the various Jewish/Zionist and supposedly “antifascist” Twitter/X accounts, and a few small online news outlets, for their diligent work over the past days and months, spreading my words, or alleged words, and my views (or supposed views), so widely.

Their attacks on me, their reportage, and of course the whole recent prosecution of me, have brought my views to the attention of a wider audience by far than my modest blog had so far reached. Thank you.

Finally, I forgot to note that the main policeman (a uniformed constable) who has been involved in my “case” (since 2021), was in court for my sentencing.

I do not propose to name him here (despite his name having been read out in open court), and actually he seems to be generally an amiable young man, though seemingly rather misled ideologically, judging by his dogged snooping on my blog, and by his witness statements.

My point here is that was the same policeman whose “neighbourhood policing team” failed (as far as I know) to do much to deal with a spate of anti-social and acquisitive crime incidents in 2021-2023 in the relatively not-good neighbourhood where I now, perforce, live. Those incidents included the theft of a wheel from my own car in early 2023.

Putting it less politely, the Hampshire Constabulary proved to be utterly useless in doing their proper job.

So there we have it. Next stop— 15 meetings with the Probation Service…

I suppose that I should add a word about appeal to the Crown Court.

At present, I do not intend to appeal on either conviction or sentence.

The present political climate —and this was a political case, and I was charged as part of the UK’s present political repression on free speech— would make an appeal against conviction unlikely to succeed.

Appeals to Crown Court from the magistrates’ court are before a Circuit Judge, assisted by one or two magistrates. So no jury to whom to speak, or to persuade. As for appeal against sentence, the present sentence is not particularly severe. 15 days or part-days of meetings, and a financial impost. The maximum sentence would have been 6 months’ imprisonment (in reality, about 2-3 months).

For me, there would thus seem to be little point in appealing, even though I dispute that I was convicted correctly, or charged correctly.

Finally, I do have a crowdfunder in place to help pay for the £1,000 the case has cost me. Any and all donations gratefully received. Thank you.

[Update, 15 April 2024: I only today noticed that the “no-one watches” Talk TV has it on its website that I was “jailed” at my (March 2024) sentencing hearing! Ha ha! The stupid bastards at Talk TV cannot even get the most basic facts right.]

[Update, 9 June 2024: I should point out that my sentence, which was called (some days or weeks later) “absurdly lenient” by the malicious and conspiratorial Jew-Zionist group, “Campaign Against Antisemitism” (which admits to having pushed for 7 years for me to be prosecuted), was made by the learned (and generally quite fair) sentencing judge on the specific recommendation of the Probation Service officer who met me in mid-December 2023 and later drafted a pre-sentence report for the Court. The sentence itself (a “community order” with 15 “rehabilitation days”) exactly followed the recommendation made in that report.]

[Update, 13 September 2024: As of yesterday, I do not have to attend any further meetings with the Probation Service, despite not having actually attended very many: see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2024/09/13/diary-blog-13-september-2024/. My sentence is therefore effectively at an end. “The usual suspects” ((( ))) will be fuming].

From the newspapers

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2024/feb/21/plantwatch-redwoods-amazing-recovery-california-wildfire

In August 2020, wildfire burned almost the entire Big Basin Redwoods state park in California, scorching ancient redwood trees, some dating back more than 1,500 years and among the tallest living things on Earth.

Redwoods are naturally fire resistant thanks to their thick bark, but the wildfire was so intense and flames so high the trees’ foliage was destroyed, even in tree canopies more than 300ft high.

It was feared the redwoods would never recover, but a few months later something incredible happened – many of the trees began sprouting tiny leaf needles from blackened trunks and branches, and two years later the forest had turned green.

Much of this fresh growth sprouted from buds under the bark and also deep inside the trees, some buds having lain dormant for more than 1,000 years.”

Well, a convincing win over political journalist John Rentoul this week: he scored an embarrassing 1/10 (though all credit to him for having admitted it). I scored 7/10. I did not know the answers to questions 7, 9, and 10, and guessed (out of two) the answer to question 8.

It’s no longer up for debate: Joe Biden has got to go.

In a hastily called press conference Thursday night, President Biden was, for the first time, questioned relentlessly by the White House press pool about his age, cognition, and fitness to serve.

The latest national poll by NBC News found that a whopping 76 percent of voters are concerned about Biden’s mental and physical ability to serve.

Is there any other Democratic Party candidate likely to go the distance? See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Democratic_Party_presidential_candidates.

Looks as though only one likely alternative presently exists, a Jew called Dean Phillips, a member of the House of Representatives: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Phillips.

Phillips is married and has two daughters from a previous marriage. He is Jewish[43] and was acknowledged by the Minnesota publication The American Jewish World for serving on the board of Temple Israel in Minneapolis.

In 2023, he announced his intent to challenge Biden for the Democratic nomination in the 2024 presidential election.[10]

…Phillips would…be the first Jewish President of the United States.”

[Wikipedia].

So far, however, Phillips’ campaign has run into the sand: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Phillips#2024_presidential_campaign.

In the primaries held so far, Biden got 100% of the delegates and 83.4% of the popular vote (Phillips got 7% of the popular vote). Phillips is not even on the ballot of several state primaries.

If Biden were to be, as seems almost inevitable, the Democratic candidate, and if he were to be re-elected and then die in office, that would put Kamala Harris into the White House. The msm in the UK, USA etc can no longer conceal the military crisis overwhelming the Jew-Zionist regime in Kiev. The military chief, Zaluzhny, has been replaced, and the ranks of the Kiev-regime forces are being thinned by both battlefield casualties and the unwillingness of both Ukrainian men and foreign volunteers and mercenaries to serve.

The foreigners have mostly been killed, captured, or have returned home, while Ukrainian men in very large numbers are avoiding the draft, either by remaining in foreign countries or by keeping their heads down in Ukraine itself. The Kiev regime employs brutal press-gangs to capture draft-evaders. One has to ask, though, whether people forced to join up under violent duress are going to be of much use in the field.

Strategically, as noted on the blog for 2 years now, Russia cannot lose this conflict, and will not. Tactically, both sides have encountered problems, but in terms of both manpower and arms, Russia now has the edge, very obviously.

I would not rule out a large-scale Russian offensive in 2024, though it may be that Putin will prefer to see what happens politically in the USA first. The US Presidential Election is in November 2024.

Russian troops are attacking a town in east Ukraine from all directions, and the situation is increasingly difficult for Ukrainian troops defending the town, its mayor said on Thursday.

Russian forces have taken the initiative on the eastern front in the industrial Donbas region of Ukraine and have been trying to cut supply lines and encircle Ukrainian forces dug in at Avdiivka since October.

“The enemy is pressuring from all directions. They are storming with very numerous forces,” Avdiivka mayor Vitaliy Barabash said in televised comments, describing the situation as “very difficult and hot”.

Ethnic cleansing by the Jewish state.

The simple truth. Without EU, UK, and US arms and ammo, the Kiev regime will fall back, not only from the Donbass front, but fall back to Kiev, and quite likely further, to somewhere between Kiev and Lvov.

Likewise, Ukraine’s economy is on (Western) life-support.

Demographically, the population numbers are in freefall. 500,000 dead on or around the battlefields, huge numbers in foreign countries, and few children being born.

In short, as an independent state (failed state, fake state), Ukraine has no future.

Either Charlotte Owen is related to “Boris” Johnson (the most likely possibility), or he was having some kind of affair with her; there is a third possibility, i.e. that she somehow knows something very seriously discreditable about Johnson.

The last possibility seems unlikely. After all, Johnson is so discredited anyway that it would be hard to think of a concealed fact that would make blackmail or implied blackmail sufficiently threatening.

Carmen Ria Smith (born c. 1996/97) is a Plaid Cymru political assistant. In February 2024, it was announced Smith would be appointed to the House of Lords.

Smith has a law degree from Bangor University, graduating in 2016.[2] She served as deputy president of NUS Wales.

Smith is the former Chief of Staff of the Plaid Cymru Senedd group. She was later a lobbyist for energy company Bute Energy[2]

In 2019, Smith stood in the European Parliament election in Wales. She was unsuccessful.

Smith was nominated to the peerage by Plaid Cymru after Dafydd Wigley announced he planned to retire in 2024.[2] This will keep the number of Plaid Cymru life peers as one.”

A member of the Lords at 27, having been an office gopher for 1-2 years, and a lobbyist for a wind-turbine company for another 1-2 years. “Chief of Staff“? The Plaid group in the Senedd (Welsh Assembly) consists of only 12 people!

Carmen Smith was evidently born under a lucky star, and really should buy some lottery tickets. £350+ per day, plus extra monies etc, at age 27. For life, in effect. Incredible.

Ah…

No wonder she is smiling…

Actually, and at the risk of seeming ungentlemanly, the young lady could pass for 40+ instead of 27. More on the story, though: https://nation.cymru/news/plaid-cymru-row-over-house-of-lords-nominations/:

“A row has broken out in Plaid Cymru after an internal election for nominees to the House of Lords saw a lobbyist for a controversial wind power company elevated to first place on the list – even though she was decisively beaten in a members’ vote by former MP Elfyn Llwyd.

Although the voting figures haven’t been disclosed, Nation.Cymru understands that Carmen Smith, 27, who works for Bute Energy, received around 70 votes while Mr Llwyd got about 180 votes. A third candidate – longstanding party member Ann Griffith – secured around 40 votes.

A longstanding Plaid Cymru member contacted Nation.Cymru and said: “This is disgraceful. I don’t know the actual result of the vote but I would have thought that Elfyn was way out in front. The fact that the National Exec has imposed a woman on top of the list was not explained at any time in the introduction to the virtual hustings that I attended last week.”

A senior party source told us: “This all stems from a decision by the NEC to make sure that a woman was given top position, regardless of how many votes were cast. It’s quite farcical that Elfyn Llwyd was way in the lead, yet came second. It’s surely a travesty of democracy. He has a wealth of Parliamentary experience, while Carmen hasn’t even been elected as a councillor.

[from Nation.Cymru online]

I wonder whether that might not be judicially reviewable. Seems (on the facts as presented) very lacking in transparency, at the very least.

Diary Blog, Boxing Day, 2023, including thoughts on the Ukraine conflict after nearly two years

Morning music

[El Greco, The Disrobing of Christ]

Ukraine/Russia

The forces of the Kiev regime may be able to launch missile attacks such as that on a Crimean port overnight, but the bigger picture is that the Kiev regime’s summer counter-offensive got nowhere and achieved nothing, that the Kiev-regime forces are rapidly running out of ammunition despite huge shipments from USA, UK etc, and that the Kiev regime is now very short of recruits, having to employ ever-more persistent press-gangs; Kiev is now asking EU states to repatriate Ukrainians living in the EU, so that the repatriated people can be put straight into uniform.

Russia is upgrading its heavy weaponry, building ever-more tanks, planes, and missiles. The summer of 2024 may see a general Russian advance which will overwhelm the ragged and exhausted Kiev-regime defences in Ukraine east of the Dnieper.

Even if that does not happen, the Kiev-regime forces cannot themselves advance. They have not the arms, ammunition, or men with which to do that. Their best possibility is to hold the line where it is.

The transnational conspiracy has had its support for the Zelensky regime sidetracked by the Gaza conflict; that is especially true of the USA. Zelensky and his cabal may be able to ban opposition parties, to arrest those opposed to war with Russia, to ban trade unions, and to refuse to hold elections, but what the Zelensky group cannot to is magic into existence more soldiers, more arms, and more ammunition.

The foreign mercenaries and other volunteers have mostly gone home now, those not captured or killed. The Kiev regime now seems to be paying mercenaries from countries with low living standards, such as Peru. Their pay is low. Still, you get what you pay for, quite often.

I doubt that many “contract soldiers”, even from regions such as South America, will now be applying to become casualty statistics in the Kiev regime’s failing war.

My assessment is that Russia is biding its time. That may mean no 2024 offensive (though, to the contrary, one may be launched in order to demoralize the all-important backers and “generous” suppliers of the Kiev regime in the EU and North America).

In the USA, the Presidential election may bring to power a President hostile to more support for the Zelensky regime. Trump is only the main possibility; there are others. Likewise in the EU. “Populist” parties are in the ascendant. Most do not want to funnel endless taxpayer funding to the ungrateful and failing Jew-Zionist regime in Kiev.

The conflict in the Palestine/Israel region, which has now spread southward to the Red Sea, is already impacting EU trade lines.

Economically, Russia is thriving, overall. While the West generally, and especially the EU, is faltering economically, Russia is doing fairly well. As I predicted 18+ months ago, the sanctions imposed have forced Russia to both diversify and to find other suppliers of food and raw materials. Sanctions rarely have huge, certainly not decisive effect anyway. I myself saw that when, aged 20, I was in Rhodesia (in 1977).

Ukraine (Kiev regime) is, by contrast, not thriving; it only keeps going by reason of the money and other support and aid supplied from outside. Its agriculture is finding export difficult, and some markets closed or restricted. The industrial sector is running at a low level. Electricity supplies are interrupted, and gas supplies more so.

In the long run, what will sink Ukraine as a state (failed state) is the very low birth-rate, combined with the huge numbers of Ukrainians now living in a number of EU states and elsewhere. In the short-term, the ranks of the army are not being replaced.

Russia will win (in Eastern Ukraine), and the NWO will retreat.

Very late. I have been commenting on that for at least a year.

WEF. NWO. ZOG. Whatever. All masks for the creatures of Evil.

Looking at the bigger picture, this is but one of the terrible consequences of decolonization in Africa (etc) from the 1950s through to the 1970s. That process was itself a consequence of the disaster of WW2 and the even more disastrous defeat of the German Reich.

Who now —save for the ignorant and/or brainwashed— can doubt that the post-WW2 ending of European rule over Africa has resulted in war, civil wars, degradation of the environment, and misery for the Africans themselves, as well as irreparable loss of wildlife and tree cover?

Stray thought

Not a particularly original or surprising thought (or two), but never mind…

I happened to see, a day or two ago, a Celebrity Chase quiz show, I think first shown several years ago. Nadine Dorries.

Hard to understand why Nadine Dorries was on a quiz show, except for the fact that, though any money won goes to a chosen charity, the contestants are paid (how much, I do not know; I presume somewhere around £1,000).

I cannot now recall the exact questions asked of Nadine Dorries, but she knew very few of the answers, and was quickly knocked out. Her ignorance was, even for a cynic such as myself, almost beyond belief.

The above experience once more led to thoughts of how MPs now really are the bottom of the barrel. Compare them to the better type of MP from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s. Jo Grimond, the one-time Liberal leader, for example. A very erudite man who had also served in WW2 as an officer, and been a barrister. His memoirs are well worth reading, incidentally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo_Grimond.

Not that I agree with all of his views, and the same would be even more true of Denis Healey [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis_Healey], but these people had character, depth, real erudition, and were not simply self-serving careerists.

Compare them to (ex-MP) Nadine Dorries, to “Boris” Johnson, to Corbyn, to Keir Starmer, to Jo Swinson (a later LibDem leader of sorts), to Liz Truss, to Sunak, Matt Hancock etc… Among many many others.

Hard to know now where the bottom of the barrel actually is. Liz Truss? Woollyhead Trussbanger (Kwasi Kwarteng)? Stella Creasy? Jess Phillips? That is even before you travel to darkest MP-dom, to the realms of (another ex-MP) Fiona Onasanya, Dawn Butler etc. See, for example, https://ianrobertmillard.org/2018/12/21/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-fiona-onasanya-story/ and https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/05/07/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-jess-phillips-story/.

Whatever method is chosen for selecting or electing MPs, Cabinet and other ministers etc, is of secondary importance. Prime importance must be given to the quality of those selected. In darker moments, I tend to think that the fall in overall quality of MPs just reflects the decline and/or degeneration of the society from which they have emerged.

Incidentally, on that Celebrity Chase show, Nadine Dorries claimed that she was the only MP not claiming expenses (in fact, she just meant certain “personal” expenses). Also, that she was campaigning to end MP expenses! The presenter was too polite (or short of time) to retort that she had already been caught actually cheating on her expenses several times, and had only just escaped prosecution: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadine_Dorries#Expenses_claims.

Zionism and Jews in the UK

Look at the tweet below, from the malicious Jew-Zionist cabal known as “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”]:

Yet we constantly see or hear, from Jew-Zionist “activists” (troublemakers), that Jews in the UK have nothing to do with Israel or what Israel is now doing to the people of Gaza…

We also see or hear that “criticism of Israel is legitimate, but any criticism of Jews is ‘antisemitic’ and (they claim) not legitimate“.

The “CAA’s” own survey indicates that at least 80% of Jews in the UK are content to accept the label “Zionist”, and that no less than 88% of them feel “personally connected” to whatever is happening in Israel.

Also, note the derogatory term “gentilesplaining“: in other words, non-Jews cannot say anything about Jews (but Jews can —and do— say the most insulting things about British and other European cultures and peoples).

Late thought about Ukraine

UK television news full of the Kiev-regime attack on the Russian ship, and saying that Russia is losing the battle in the Black Sea. Well, the Kiev regime no longer has a navy at all.

Naturally, the loss of a large ship, even a supply ship, is very bad but, the very same day, Russian forces took what is left of the city of Mariinka in the Donbass. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-67820916.

That is where the war is happening, on the ground in Eastern Ukraine. Russia is slowly winning there.

As for the attack on the ship, already the biased commentators on Sky News etc are heralding the dawn of a Kiev-regime strategic advantage in the Black Sea which does not exist.

In the final analysis, and if push came to shove, Russia could totally flatten Kiev and all other cities of Ukraine, if the leadership were so to decide. What is stopping that is firstly, that Moscow and Kiev were the centrepieces of Russian life for many centuries and, secondly, the fact that Russia is slowly winning this war.

Russia, though, is still one of the two main nuclear powers, and also has awesome conventional destructive capability. In extremis, that power could be unleashed. Kiev should be talking to Moscow about redrawing borders.

Many a true word spoken in jest…I remember a visitor from the Soviet Union, one Alex (not the MP above, of course), joking with me during a similar prison accommodation crisis (in 1987, I think, and seen on Channel 4 News) that the British Government should make a deal with the Soviet Government to house Brit convicts. Alex said that he could guarantee that the Soviet Government would turn a profit on it.

He ought to have known, he himself having been arrested and convicted, on entirely invented evidence, of having been a spy for a number of secret services. He had been about 18 at the time, and the arrest came in 1948, the peak of the postwar purge. He had then spent 5 years in a camp in the region of Archangel in Northern Russia. Stalin’s death in 1953 had saved him, and millions of others, from longer or worse.

Incidentally, her basic salary at John Lewis has been £990,000 p.a., nearly three times her previous salary (for 4 years) as head of OFCOM.

She has other revenue streams as well.

Incidentally, I myself often use Waitrose, which is part of the John Lewis Group. The decline , particularly since 2020, has been sad to see. The range and also quality of fruit and vegetables is much reduced, the formerly stellar customer service has almost gone, and there have been other disagreeable changes, while the prices have soared.

Hard to know where to place the blame, though, in circumstances where we have seen Brexit, the “Covid” scamdemic/panicdemic, the pathetic anti-Covid “measures” put in place, staff shortages locally, and general inflation.

The other day, I bought a small bottle of (40%/Vol) Kirsch. About £9.50. A few years ago, the price was £6.50 or £7. Hardly a typical everyday purchase, even for me, but not dissimilar to other items in its increased cost.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12589095/Suella-Braverman-warns-global-hurricane-migration-sweeping-millions-Britain.html.

It is incredible how, in the Britain of 2023, to state the plain truth, the obvious truth that is staring us in the face, is actually controversial. Sign of a slowly (?) collapsing society.

No wonder most Ukrainians are trying to avoid or evade being used as cannon-fodder.

Collapsed support: a major failure?” For the second day in a row, the German Bild informs its readers that all is lost – despair reigns in Kiev, the situation is critical, and Western supporters are inclined to negotiate. “Soldier fatigue” is one of the biggest dangers.

At the same time, it is absolutely obvious: the situation for Ukraine has not become any less, but even more threatening! The counteroffensive is going less successfully than the Ukrainians and the West would like. The number of victims is extremely high. There is no necessary support in arms from the West. And Russia can produce more per day than the West, despite the sanctions.”

Conservative Party Conference

Saw a few minutes of Sunak’s speech. Pretty pathetic. The HS2 fiasco has become symbolic. Not that I was ever anything other than opposed to the ridiculous vanity project anyway, but now we have massive cost, massive environmental damage etc, but no useful train line at all, just a line that goes to or from Birmingham but only to an outer suburb of London, thus losing its purpose altogether. As said, pathetic.

It seems that Sunak is trying to portray himself as a Prime Minister, when the whole country knows that his popularity (as was that of even more useless Liz Truss) has never been tested via General Election. The longer Sunak holds on, and the longer he puts off a General Election, the worse his position is likely to become. However, if a general election were to be held this year, the result would almost certainly be a disaster for the Conservative Party, and the number of its MPs likely be reduced to around 100, maybe only 50 or so. Therefore, the circus will have to continue into 2024, maybe until December 2024.

“Boris”-idiot has suggested, I read, that all RAF fighters (and bombers?) be lent or given to the Kiev regime. Was that a hoax report? Maybe. If that were to happen, then the remaining RAF bases (once the occupying USAF forces were chucked out) could go the way of most former RAF airfields, and be turned into tract housing.

I can think of a number of UK air bases that have been turned into housing developments in the past few decades. The same is true of Army bases, such as the one-time Intelligence Corps base at Ashford, Kent, where I recall spending a day in 1975: see https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/templer-barracks-intelligence-corps-depot-ashford-kent-visit-2002-part-1.90734/. The photos in the linked site show how, even a couple of decades ago, housing was encroaching closely upon what was then left of the former Templer Barracks. Templer Barracks had its own guards and entrances, and was a base within a base, surrounded by barracks of the “ordinary” Army. Housing development covered that outer zone first, it seems.

I presume that the areas of Templer Barracks shown are now also tract housing.

Reading that 2022 blog post, I am reminded that LBC radio is owned lock, stock and barrel by a Jew. See the post itself for details. It explains much about the attitudes taken by LBC presenters and editors.

In fact, I should say that that blog post from a year ago has held up well, with the exception of my prediction of Russian incursion into Ukraine (correct in itself but wrong in its overestimation of the capabilities of the Russian forces).

Well, this week brings another victory for me over political journalist John Rentoul. He scored 5/10, but I trumped that with 7/10. I did not know the answers to questions 1, 3, and 8.

Ukraine

As I blogged yesterday, it looks as though no breakthrough will be made on either side until after the thaw of the spring gives way to summer. I still have in my mind my dream (blogged about a few days ago) about 1 July being the start of a war, perhaps one involving the whole of Europe.

In the meantime, I am assuming that the Russian forces will continue to degrade the infrastructure of Ukraine in the major centres, particularly Kiev area.

Peace talks have effectively been ruled out by the Jew Zelensky. The pre-condition for even a limited ceasefire seems to be that Russia gives up all territory within the pre-2014 Ukraine borders, including Crimea. For Russia, that is unthinkable. After all, even if the forces of the Kiev regime were to achieve total victory, they would be in no better position than if Russian forces were to withdraw now. That being so, there is no incentive for Russia to withdraw now, even were it willing to do so.

The NWO/ZOG centres are now funnelling arms to the Kiev regime on a scale thought impossible 11 months ago. Russia will probably thus be pushed into a massive offensive when summer comes.

Ukraine

We are constantly fed an NWO/ZOG msm narrative about how “Ukraine” (the Kiev regime) is “defeating Russia”. Is it true?

What would “Ukraine defeating Russia” look like, ultimately? Presumably, in that scenario, all Russian forces would be forced to leave behind not only the pre-2022 borders of Ukraine but also the Crimea, the population of which is at least 85% Russian and only a few percent Ukrainian now (there are also Crimean Tatars and others).

So, in that scenario, Russia would have been driven back into its own unargued territory, and kept there by Ukrainian/Kiev-regime military might. Is there any logic at all to that?

Russia is, of course, famously the largest country in the world, over six and a half million square miles, so about 72 times the size of the whole of the UK, and 29 times the size of Ukraine (even including Crimea and the Donbass). A country which covers one-eighth of the landmass of the entire planet.

Russia has a population of over 144 million (147 million if Crimea is included); Ukraine had 41 million people (excluding Crimea) in 2021, before the Russian invasion or incursion, but about 20% of the population of Ukraine (I suspect the relatively affluent layer) has fled beyond Ukraine, so the real population, at present, is perhaps 30 million.

Russia has, therefore, almost five times the population of Ukraine.

Russia’s economy may not be booming, now that Western (NWO/ZOG) sanctions have hit hard, but it is still functioning. Russia is getting huge amounts from oil and gas (and mineral) sales, and has, of course, no problem with generating electricity. Russia’s domestic agriculture has actually been stimulated by the Western sanctions which prohibit import and export.

Compare that to Ukraine— it has very limited sources of fuel of all kinds, its electricity generating and distribution capacity is being smashed, possibly beyond easy repair, its industry is scarcely operational, and its agriculture is unable to export easily.

Even before the invasion/incursion of 2022, Wikipedia noted that “Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe by nominal GDP per capita.”

The only material advantage that Ukraine has is that the Kiev regime is in receipt of enormous amounts of Western aid: arms, ammunition, military transport, food, clothing, medical supplies, and money.

There is no suggestion that Ukrainian forces can either invade or destroy Russian territory or cities. There can, likewise, be no suggestion that Ukrainian forces will actually topple Putin or the existing Russian Government (unless obliquely— e.g. should a coup d’etat take place).

The most that the Ukrainian forces can do, the peak of their realistic ambition, would be to expel all Russian forces from the pre-2014 Ukrainian borders, and then dig in, in effect.

Russia’s war aims have never been openly or clearly expressed in a manner that makes any sense, but part of them would be the necessity to demilitarize Ukraine, something that is now impossible without Russian control over the bulk of the territory, including Kiev.

Under other circumstances, Russia might now be sitting on the entire eastern half of Ukraine (ie Ukraine east of the Dnieper), but “we are where we are”, in the tiresome phrase.

As I predicted would happen on the blog months ago, Russian forces have recently been trying to think outside the box by applying “oblique warfare”, targeting the electricity production and generating system deep inside Ukraine, using missiles and drones.

While the Kiev-regime forces have supposedly been downing most of the attacking missiles, the ones that are getting through have been smashing the electrical system of Ukraine to pieces. What next? Possibly the railway network.

Russia is said to be mobilizing more troops, possibly with the idea of a mass assault on Kiev next summer.

Unless a peace treaty or armistice can be agreed and executed, the war can only escalate. However, Russia can only “win” this ghastly mess of a war by taking Kiev and toppling the present Kiev regime.

The “Jack Monroe”/”Bootstrap Cook” story rolls on

See also: https://tattle.life/wiki/jack-monroe/. Very eye-opening. One could even call it “devastating”.

Hard to see why anyone not very feeble-minded would send money to “Jack Monroe” after reading that Tattle Life exposé . Surprising, therefore, to see that no fewer than 647 utter mugs are still sending her £3.50-£44 monthly, a total of between £2,265 and £28,468, each and every month. “A nice little earner“, in the estuary argot, even if the actual total amount sent is nearer to —at a guess— maybe £6,000 or £7,000 a month rather than the maximum. Probably taxfree as well.

I have no idea whether the Essex Police, Metropolitan Police, trading standards officers, or fundraising regulators are “on the case” or not. If not, though, why not?

Peter Hitchens’ column is worth publishing in full:

What a twisted society we have become. We stir up wars in other people’s countries and praise ourselves for doing it.

But there is no political reward for protecting our own people against crime and disorder on their streets and in their homes. It is no longer clear if anyone is governing the country at all, so busy are we putting other nations to rights.

Burglaries go unprevented, uninvestigated and unpunished, in colossal numbers. Our capital city seethes with uncontrolled knife crime and stinks of marijuana.

Christmas brings news of terrible ultra-violent crimes in supposedly peaceful suburban areas. Migrants stride boldly ashore in unknown numbers. We pay heavy taxes for pitiful services, cratered roads and a health system that is the envy of nobody.

Yet, nothing happens about all this. The surest way to gain praise in politics is to make simple-minded statements about a crisis abroad and demand that we send bombs and shells to some strife-torn state, or actually bomb it ourselves.

The idea that such things are often complicated and dangerous, and may do harm, has faded from view. When Prime Minister Anthony Eden dragged us into his disastrous attack on Egypt in 1956, the entire country was bitterly divided. And rightly so. The archives, when they were opened, showed that the adventure was based on lies, futile and doomed.

When the USA sank up to its waist in the bloody mud of Vietnam in the 1960s, the whole world was at odds. Once again, now that the truth is revealed, we know that thousands of brave men died, and many more thousands of innocent civilians were killed, because of a mistake.

But since the Blair revolution of 1997, pious, allegedly virtuous foreign crusades have come back into fashion. Criticising them gets you into trouble. There is only one permitted view. Few go back to find out how things actually went.

The Kosovo episode, for instance, did not bring paradise to that part of the world. Nor did the Iraq invasion. I know most people now pretend to have been against it at the time but as one who actually was against it at the time, I can assure you that they are mistaken. It had wide support. The same goes for the daft adventures in Afghanistan and Libya.

In fact, the last three did so much harm that it will never be measured. Together they began the era of mass migration from the Middle East and Africa to Western Europe. This is probably the biggest event in human history since the First World War, and perhaps bigger.

How can we do all this stamping about in foreign countries when we are so bad at governing our own and also not very strong? Our country doesn’t work properly. You can’t even see a doctor. The police are equally invisible. Our Army is as tiny as our debts are huge. Our grandest new warship, the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, has broken down. Even when it works, we have to borrow aircraft from the Americans to fly off it.

None of this will be properly discussed at the rapidly approaching General Election and nobody will stand in that poll who prefers reforming Britain to foreign policy fantasy abroad. Why do we put up with it?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-11588573/PETER-HITCHENS-stir-trouble-foreign-countries-run-own.html

My rhetorical answer to Hitchens’ rhetorical question? This:

“The British/English people do not rebel against all of the above, not yet anyway, because they are bombarded with propaganda brainwashing 24/7, because few have either the independence of thought, or the (real) education, to stand against the tide, and because the “plebs” think that all that matters, or that the main matter of importance, is whether the “England” sports teams (which are now largely black or brown anyway) win some meaningless game, match, or tournament somewhere or other in the world.”

That, and because those in political life, those of great wealth, those in the mainstream media, who should all be protecting the people, are exactly those who, from malice, evil, or just sheer inability and lack of basic competence (as with “Boris”-idiot, Liz Truss, Woollyhead Trussbanger —Kwasi Kwarteng— etc), are encouraging migration-invasion of this country, are letting standards and services slide, and are preventing —by ever more repressive laws— even obviously justified criticism from being made. They are, in effect, signed up to the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan.”

[the odd link immediately above now seems to be the only one for the interesting Western Spring article].

Incidentally, I see that the Daily Mail/Mail on Sunday is now, yet again, refusing to allow its readers to comment on Hitchens’ column, no doubt afraid that the readers will leave comments hostile to mass immigration, migration-invasion, “intervention” in foreign wars or countries, or even (could it be?) comments hostile to the Zelensky Jew-Zionist regime in Kiev…

Ha ha! Brilliant! Goed gedaan!

Interesting. I only saw that tweet today.

There are also other areas of society where there is a need for equity and justice.

Undeclared social nationalists in the right places, e.g. within the legal or “justice” system, could do a lot of good.

Roger Scruton

…and in the middle of the alien crowd, I see the philosopher Roger Scruton, now deceased. “And then there were none“.

A couple of friends of mine in South London were friendly with Scruton, back in the mid/late 1970s. He would arrive by bicycle, in the manner of Cambridge University.

Then a fairly obscure university college lecturer at Birkbeck College (part of the University of London), though already becoming known and communing with the famous and well-connected (including Margaret Thatcher), Scruton later dropped the couple I knew for fear of being associated with them after the popular Press ran a story about how Scruton of the Salisbury Review etc was associating with “fascists” and “neo-Nazis” etc.

In other words, Scruton put career before friendship.

Having said that, Scruton was a considerable figure, sometimes honoured more in the recently ex-socialist states such as the Czech Republic —where I myself once saw a whole bookshop window of Scruton’s works in Czech— than in the UK.

That display was seen by me in Central Prague in 1999; it could not have happened when I had previously been in that city (1988); very few Western visitors were there then, and the works of Scruton (and many others) were banned.

Scruton was born into modest circumstances and, when later both famous and wealthy (as some might say, “box office“, with his high-selling books in multiple translation, and with several income-streams), he took on some of the traditional habits of the English “upper classes”, such as foxhunting, and living in country houses. He also started to take money from tobacco-lobby interests.

[Scruton’s house —2004-2009— near Sperryville, Virginia, USA]

Scruton (whom I myself never met) strikes me as having been, like many, perhaps most people, a blend of the highminded and tawdry, of the original and the very derivative, of the highly ethical and the morally-suspect.

A hugely-talented man, in any event. One could say, without it being too much of a cliché, “a Renaissance man“.

Perhaps better remembered in his works than in himself.

Blame and praise alike befall, when a dauntless man’s spirit is black and white mixed, like the magpie’s plumage…”

Perhaps the (at time of writing) 643 utter “mugs”, each presently donating between £3.50 and £44, and every month, might start to wake up if they saw the total income (from that source alone) of “Jack Monroe”, the so-called “Bootstrap Cook”. Somewhere between a few thousand pounds and tens of thousands, monthly.

Criminal?” My idea of “criminal” is pleading poverty or (when, e.g., Tiffany earrings are noticed by alert readers) near-poverty, in order to induce people to donate thousands of pounds monthly to a private bank account, while never or rarely providing the goods and services offered, and (it is said by many) never having intended to perform; or crowdfunding in order to fund a defamation case, with no real intent to launch such a case, and later (it is alleged by many, at any rate) keeping the donated monies for private purposes.

This will only be clarified if, or when, police and/or trading standards officers and/or various regulators properly investigate the activities of “Jack Monroe”, the “Bootstrap Cook”.

No decent meal can be made for either 30p or 11p. This is reaching Monty Python levels of nonsense.

Without the Russian connection (there since Kievan Rus in the 9thC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kievan_Rus%27], there would be really nothing of note in Ukraine, and that is exactly what its present Jew-Zionist dictatorship wants; in other words, for there to be nothing in Ukraine that existed before 1991, when this shambolic, corrupt and Jew-Zionist-ruled and exploited republic emerged from the collapse of Sovietism.

It cannot be denied that this conflict started in 2014, not in 2022.

The Zelensky regime in Kiev wants NATO to weigh in on the Kiev-regime side. If that were to happen even more blatantly than is presently the case, a nuclear exchange between NATO (NWO/ZOG) and Russia will be only a matter of time.

I cannot say whether the above is a genuine cause or not; probably it is. In any case, the true cost of war is the suffering of both human beings and their companion animals.

It is bad that Ukraine, whatever the reasons, is a theatre of war. Let us make sure that the rest of Europe is not dragged into a worse, and greater, war.

Diary Blog, Christmas Eve 2022

Whether it be called Christmas or Yuletide, the essence is the same.

No more wars within the European family and, now that Sovietism has perished under its own weight, no more wars with Russia or the Russian people.

[I made the same points on Christmas Eve last year, suspecting but not knowing that they would be even more urgently relevant in 2022].

Even were Ukraine (the Kiev regime) able to defeat Russian forces, decisively, in the field, which is unlikely, that result would only then lead to the use by Russia of tactical or even strategic nuclear weapons, or to the decision to use fleets of bombers to reduce Kiev to rubble. Putin cannot accept the loss of “captured” territory in the “Russian” areas of Ukraine (Crimea and the Donbass), whatever happens

Maybe. That does chime with Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, of course. A prophet, of sorts.

“Dr” Louise Raw crowdfund appeal

The kefuffle around the crowdfunder launched by “Dr” Louise Raw to (ostensibly) sue Jeremy Clarkson continues, with people not only saying that it is doomed on its own terms (for legal reasons, and as I pointed out a few days ago on the blog), but suggesting that the whole thing is a “grift” or near-(?) fraud by Louise Raw, something which I doubted when I wrote about it (if only because it seemed to me that it would be difficult to get away with a blatant fraud of that sort). Maybe I was too kind.

I had thought that Louise Raw would not want to taint her “militant” or pseudo-revolutionary image to her mug followers on Twitter by keeping some of the money for her own use. On the other hand, the said “woke” mug Twitter followers are usually pretty dim, as can be seen in some of their responses to the legal critique of this doomed attempt to sue Clarkson.

Come to that, look at the fundraiser promoted by Roanna Carleton-Taylor on behalf of “grifting” fake “historian” and “journalist”, Mike Stuchbery (along with some Paki-stani solicitor whose name I forget). They raised about £12,000, which as far as I know has never since seen the light of day.

Unless I discover otherwise, I shall believe that, on the balance of probabilities, those monies were split between “Roanna” and Stuchbery, with the solicitor getting a bit by way of “professional fees” (for doing almost nothing but sending one letter to Tommy Robinson). Certainly, no legal action was ever launched. About 800 “woke” mugs donated to that crowdfunder.

Stuchbery still has over 88,000 Twitter followers, though Roanna Carleton-Taylor has apparently withdrawn from online activism (I have no idea whether or not the police took an interest in her and/or her husband’s other activities, as claimed by some people). Anyway, there it is.

See also: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/10/23/a-few-words-about-mike-stuchbery/ and https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/11/27/mike-stuchbery-and-tommy-robinson-legal-dispute/.

Then, of course, we have —what increasingly looks like— a continuing and outright “grift” by the so-called “Bootstrap Cook”, who calls herself “Jack Monroe”.

As of today, 643 mugs, donating regularly via Patreon, are closing their eyes to the very telling exposures of “Jack Monroe” which have appeared since, especially, August 2022; they are supplying her, in aggregate, with monies amounting to some sum between £2,300 and £30,000 each month. Maybe, at a pure guess, about £6,000 or so, monthly. Probably taxfree, too.

“Jack Monroe” also had a crowdfund appeal going from May 2022, ostensibly in order that she could sue MP Lee Anderson and political activist/commentator Martin Daubney. People donated, but (quelle surprise) the “defamation case” has never been initiated, and the monies donated have disappeared into what might be called the “Jack Monroe” lifestyle fund…

“Jack Monroe”, despite everything, not only still has that cadre of 643 utter mugs sending her money every month, but also has no fewer than 563,000 “followers” on Twitter.

Even that ridiculous West Indian woman who caused a fuss recently at Buckingham Palace, and who literally “cosplays” as a tribal African, not only managed to rip off £170,000 before people started to look into the affairs of her blacks-only “charity”, but also, tellingly, has since then managed to get hundreds of mugs to donate another £36,000 in order to help to buy “her charity” a house. Unglaublich!

In other words, those “grifters” have not at all been damaged by what some have been calling outright theft of donated monies, because they make the right sort of “politically correct” or “woke” noises.

Perhaps that is what will happen to Louise Raw’s crowdfunder, i.e. a small amount will go to a solicitor, and Counsel, in return for a nicely-written Advice advising that legal action against Clarkson is impossible, after which Louise Raw will (I speculate, of course) keep whatever is left, perhaps donating a thousand or so to a domestic violence charity (on the publicized record, for public show).

Louise Raw is notably reticent with some information, e.g. as to her own background, including where she studied for her “doctorate” (if any) and her first and Master’s degrees (if any). It may be that she never will give information as to where the bulk of the monies raised went (or shall we say “disappeared”?). All she would have to do, on that hypothesis, is to say that the monies went to suitable “good causes” and that the “good causes” “requested no publicity” or some such. “Jack Monroe” has tried that one in the past, and the mug donors just accepted it as true, so…

The first tweet above of course refers to 1. The absurd Marlene-something-posing-as-African; 2. “Jack Monroe” (and her dog’s dinner “cooking”); 3. Dr. Julia Grace Patterson (was very briefly an NHS doctor, now lives off “grifting” and/or selling useless facemasks etc); 4. Either Louise Raw, or notorious fox-batterer Jolyon Maugham, the narcissistic New Zealand-educated barrister and “activist”, and his largely pointless “Good Law Project” (anyone who saw his lamentable ignorance on Christmas University Challenge recently might prefer to keep their money).

Incidentally, I just saw a few tweets by “Jack Monroe” about how hard it was for her (supposedly a recovering alcoholic) to find mince pies in the supermarket made without alcohol. Surely a quasi-professional cook would make her own, especially at Christmas? Oh, well, there it is.

Those refer to Louise Raw and her stupid (or maybe not so stupid, if indeed it is a “grift”) crowdfunder.

I was just trying to remember what were the best fees I myself ever got for one-off written Advices when I was at the Bar. I do not include advice given when I was a salaried lawyer overseas in the late 1990s (Kazakhstan, Caribbean, elsewhere), and provided to large companies such as Raytheon, because I was then charged out at about USD $400 an hour, but that money went to the law firm(s), not me personally.

I think that the best fees for basic written Advices that I myself ever had were somewhere in the region of (in the money of 15-30 years ago) somewhat short of a thousand pounds (you could/might double that to put it in the money of 2022), so fairly modest compared to Counsel in the best —or best-padded— chambers.

I do recall, when working in Charleston (South Carolina) in 2002, telephoning to London to ask the Clerk of one of the top company law chambers in Gray’s Inn as to how much a written Advice from one of their QCs would cost. The document in question was 17pp long, but the only important bit consisted of only two paragraphs, and on only one page. A few alternatives were offered, but the bottom line was— £4,000 to £5,000. Again, maybe you would have to increase that by 50% or even 100% today, but even so, the £15,000 appealed for by Louise Raw seems high, particularly in view of the non-commercial subject-matter.

“Wokes” such as “Dr” Louise Raw always claim to be speaking up etc for the people, but the said “wokes” seem to forget that they chose the losing side re. Brexit, in the 2017 and 2019 General Elections, the 2016 US Election etc. Not that I myself favour Trump or the “British” Conservative Party, or even mishandled Brexit, as such, but the “wokes” are in a Twitter (etc) echo chamber where they refuse to even listen to, or see, any views contrary to their own; indeed, they try to “deplatform” people, as do the Jew-Zionists. Louise Raw is a prime example of an “I’m not listening” “woke”. No wonder they always get things wrong.

Incidentally, Louise Raw is on Twitter as “@LouiseRawAuthor”. “Author“?Technically so, because she has had one (non-fiction) book published, a decade or so ago. Is that really enough, though, to validate a self-description as an “author“? Maybe in her world, just as it seems to be OK, in her world, or mind, to call herself “Doctor” based on a “doctorate” granted (if indeed she has one) on the basis of the same subject-matter as her sole book, a strike of match-factory girls in London in 1888.
