The Ukraine of the present Kiev regime is an object lesson in how “certain influences” can degrade and destroy a whole society within a few years, though in the case of Ukraine it had already been gradually degrading since at least 1989. The process accelerated after 2014.

That whole thing (policy, propaganda, intrusive snooping, “assessments” etc, and for both physical and mental sufferers) is a kind of macabre Roman circus for the “moronic masses” who read the tabloid newspapers. Labour under Jewish-lobby puppet Starmer seems even more likely to go further down that path than the “dead man walking” Conservative Party.

The mantra continues to be “get work, get work“, when paid work now, in the UK, for many, not only pays poorly (not enough to live on even modestly) but is not far removed from effective economic serfdom.

I should add that the above does not affect me personally— I have not had to suffer such bureaucratic tortures (much) in the past, and now at age 67 I have been a “State Pensioner” for a year or so, albeit that I get rather little in money terms, having been overseas for a good chunk of my adult life.

Liberty fought tyranny in the High Court in London last week, in what I believe is one of the most important court cases of our time. The issues were simple. Is it permissible to disagree publicly with the British Government‘s foreign policy?

If not, how much do you have to disagree with it to be in trouble? And can you then be severely punished without a proper trial?

I have a strong personal interest in this, since I often (in fact, almost always) disagree with British foreign policy. This frequently seems to have been made by bomb-happy teenagers who have never looked at a map, opened a history book or done any proper travel.

These are surely huge issues for any country. Apart from anything else, if foreign policy cannot be criticised, how long before domestic policy is protected in the same way?

[Mail on Sunday/Daily Mail]

Well worth reading.

From over a year ago but nothing has changed since then.

Anyone who thinks that misnamed “Labour” will be somehow better than the equally-misnamed “Conservatives” is self-deluding. Having said that, the “Con Party” does deserve to be stamped on and reduced to a tiny caucus at the 2024 General Election.

Stop the migration-invasion. Remove those not wanted in this country. Eliminate rogue landlords and buy-to-let parasites. Build decent homes for British people.

Bob Stewart was at least well-known. Any replacement will probably attract fewer votes even before the slide in Con Party fortunes is taken into account.

Beckenham has been a fairly safe Conservative seat since its creation in 1950. The Conservatives won easily even at the General Election of 1997, and the scandals around Piers Merchant [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piers_Merchant] did not prevent his successor from winning the seat at the by-election (also in 1997): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beckenham_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_1990s.

That it looks as if Beckenham will go Labour in 2024 is of wider significance, and underlines the almost existential crisis of the Conservative Party.

Another fact of straw-in-the-wind significance is that the likely new MP for Beckenham is one Marina Ahmad, a Bangladeshi who moved to the UK when 6 months old. The Great Replacement?…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_Ahmad; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Stewart_(politician)[.

[Update, 13 October 2024: in the end, Marina Ahmad was shoved aside (I think after being labelled “antisemitic”) in favour of one Liam Conlon, the 20-something son of Keir Starmer’s collaborator, former civil servant and would-be queen bee, Sue Gray, who held the position of Chief of Staff at 10, Downing Street from July 2024 until (it seems) her interference and politicking made Starmer demote her and chuck her out of the first circle of power in October 2024. Conlon won the new Beckenham and Penge seat with 49.3% of the vote. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beckenham_and_Penge_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beckenham_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2010s].

Mint julep

A word about a favourite drink, though one not had by me for some 20 years.

I must descant a little upon the mint julep, as it is… one of the most delightful and insinuating potations that was ever invented, and may be drunk with satisfaction when the thermometer is as low as 70 degrees.

There are many varieties, such as those composed of claret, Madeira, &c., but the ingredients of the real Mint Julep are as follows. I learned how to make them and succeeded pretty well. Put into a tumbler about a dozen sprigs of the tender shoots of mint, upon them put a spoonful of white sugar, and equal proportions of peach and common brandy, so as to fill it up one-third, or perhaps a little less.

Then take rasped or pounded ice, and fill up the tumbler. Epicures rub the lip of the tumbler with a piece of fresh pineapple, and the tumbler itself is very often incrusted outside with stalactites of ice.

As the ice melts, you drink.

I once overheard two ladies talking in the room next to me, and one of them said, “Well, if I have a weakness for any one thing, it is for a mint julep!”–a very amiable weakness, and proving her good sense and good taste. They are, in fact, like the American ladies–irresistible!

[Captain Marryatt— https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Marryat].

The typical mint julep of today, however, uses quality Bourbon more often than peach brandy and cognac.

Dickens also enjoyed the odd mint julep: https://www.foodhistory.com/foodnotes/leftovers/bev/julep/01/.

Announcement

As announced yesterday, the magistrates’ court trial to which I was made subject went badly for me. I cannot blog about that at present.

I am presently due to be sentenced at the end of January, or in February, of 2024. After that, I have 15 working days, i.e. three weeks, in which to serve any Notice of Appeal. Any appeal hearing, before a Circuit Judge (sitting with two magistrate-assessors), would be a complete rehearing, which would probably not happen until the Autumn of 2024, perhaps not until 2025.

I shall decide in February 2024, post-sentencing, whether I shall appeal.

Saturday quiz

Well, a poor score this week, a mere 4/10; I see that John Rentoul scored similarly. I knew the answers only to questions 2, 3, 4, and 7.

From the newspapers

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/24778179/moment-teen-kills-army-veteran-bus-station/.

SHOCKING CCTV footage shows the moment a teenage boy killed an 82-year-old Army veteran with a single punch.

Omar Moumeche, who was 16 at the time, attacked Dennis Clarke at Derby bus station after the veteran told off his friends for messing about on an escalator.

The pensioner suffered a fractured skull as well as a bleed on the brain and died in hospital nine days after the assault on May 6, 2021.

Moumeche, now 18, was found guilty of manslaughter in July, with the judge sentencing the killer yob to two years in youth detention at Derby Crown Court today.

No further action was taken against two other teenage boys who were arrested at the time in connection with the attack.”

[The Sun]

Omar Moumeche“? So… Algerian, presumably. Why is he even here? Why is his family here?

Life certainly is cheap in Britain’s wonderful new “diverse” multikulti paradise…

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12763583/Care-home-nailed-window-shut-stop-holding-Mums-hand-ex-BBC-star.html

Thus Britain, through the gradual acceptance of stupid “laws” and “rules” (invalid and/or misinterpreted) becomes a multikulti and “biosecurity” “poundland” police state.

The only man alive who can tell you what it is like to be EXECUTED after three Death Row staff in Alabama spent 90 agonising minutes trying – and failing – to give him a lethal injection.”

The U.S. Constitution is a bad joke in most respects. Here is one example. The 8th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution forbids “cruel and unusual punishment“. Then look at what has been found to be not “cruel and unusual,” such as these ghastly lethal injection executions and, of course, the classic one, the electric chair, which can take several minutes and may fry someone alive, in effect.

The U.S. Constitution, looked upon by most Americans as if holy writ, when in fact it was just a document cobbled together by a bunch of freemasons (many of them), partly (it is said) in a New York City tavern.

The wrongheadedness of the “austerity” drive since 2010, which badly damaged the UK economy, especially in the years 2010-2015, but was sold to the unthinking British people as “necessary”.

That was a long time ago. The world is now overpopulated, and particularly with non-Europeans. A reduction of the world’s population to about 10% of what it is now is very desirable, but of course the remaining population has to be mainly ethnically European.

You carry in your blood the holy inheritance of your
fathers and forefathers. You do not know those who
have vanished in endless ranks into the darkness of the
past. But they all live in you and walk in your blood upon
the earth that consumed them in battle and toil and in
which their bodies have long decayed.

Your blood is therefore something holy. In it your parents gave you not only a body, but your nature. To deny your blood is to deny yourself. No one can
change it. But each decides to grow the good that one has
inherited and suppress the bad. Each is also given will
and courage.

You do not have only the right, but also the duty to pass
your blood on to your children, for you are a member of
the chain of generations that reaches from the past into
eternity, and this link of the chain that you represent
must do its part so that the chain is never broken.

But if your blood has traits that will make your children
unhappy and burdens to the state, then you have the
heroic duty to be the last. The blood is the carrier of life. You carry in it the secret of creation itself. Your blood is holy, for in it God’s will
lives.”

Not a legitimate Home Secretary but yet another horrible mongrel elevated with little merit to a high political position in our country.

Israeli propaganda“. Quite. Jewish broadcaster Emily Maitlis, having now left the BBC, is free to blast out Israeli propaganda. In fact, I notice that Jewish-lobby or Israel-lobby mouthpieces are everywhere today on the TV, radio, social media. Emily Maitlis, Michael Portillo, even “Tommy Robinson”.

Looks like it has been co-ordinated to some degree. Even not-famous Jews are tweeting the same sort of stuff. Such as? Oh, “getting bombed is your fault if you are a small child in Gaza, because either your family knows someone who supports Hamas, or because you might grow up to be anti-Israel” etc. Or, “the people of Gaza are not poor because the Israelis control most of the utilities, and prevent much economic activity, and also exploit Palestinian day-labourers by chiselling their low pay, but because of Hamas”. And so on.

Britain is, in its own way, almost as “occupied”…

Incidentally, Portillo has discarded for a day his popular and pleasant railway monologue character, and reverted to the old harsh persona many will remember from the 1990s, when he thought himself quite likely to become Prime Minister one day.

Town planning thoughts

Since the recent contretemps began, and in fact for long before that, I have been struck by the quite pleasant layout of many of the newer Israeli towns and settlements. Wide main streets, plenty of green spaces and trees, an absence of litter. What a contrast to Gaza!

Of course, part of that is by reason of the “apartheid“-style socio-economic situation in Israel/Palestine, and parallels South Africa in the pre-ANC days. That, however, is not the whole truth. I have seen some of the cities and towns in the Middle East, particularly in Egypt, and some look not much different to Gaza.

Well of course the proper purpose of NATO, the “parrying” of Soviet expansionism, disappeared along with the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, over 30 years ago. Now, it is basically the battering-ram for the New World Order (NWO) conspiracy.

The Israeli Jews have been carrying out atrocities of that sort for a long time; decades. Do they really think that they can do so endlessly, without any retribution? Look at the past month or so, compared to what was open to the Palestinian Arabs in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, or even much of the past 20 years. There has been a step-change.

Yes, Israel’s power is still dominant in the region, and especially over that of the Palestinian Arabs, but for how long?

Ukraine

I predicted throughout that Russia could not lose, strategically. I also predicted that the Kiev-regime counter-offensive would get nowhere. The “experts” said the opposite. They were wrong.

I have just seen a brief piece by Frank Gardner on ITV News. “Ukraine is in real trouble“, he now admits.

Still, Frank Gardner has an interesting background…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Gardner_(journalist).

I think that I recall seeing a short film about those Jew thieves. About (?) 20 years ago.

What interests me is the speed of the police response. Of course, no background or context is provided.

Migrant-invaders.

Parasites. Meanwhile, British people, including families and ex-soldiers, are sleeping in the streets or in substandard accommodation.

Labour Party drones are rubbish, of course, but the present Government has betrayed everything and everyone (except the Jewish lobby and Israel…). The misnamed “Conservatives” have to be eliminated at the 2024 GE, even at the cost of a Starmer “elected” dictatorship. One thing at a time.

Outright murder. This is not war but callous and indeed deliberate slaughter of the non-combatant population. It is far less merciful than the Reduction of the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943.

Ironic…

Let’s talk about rape in France. We all know who is doing the raping, so we don’t have to talk about that. But, let’s prove it by numbers.

In 1971, the rate of declared rapes in France stood at 2.0 cases per 100,000 people. In 2015, when the “great migration” started the rape rate for France was 20.1 cases per 100,000 people.Today, they’re sitting at 39.59 cases per 100,000 people. You’re looking at nearly 94,000 reported rapes a year. About 5,000 to 7,000 of those rapes are gang rapes.

The other day, some migrant raped a 93 year old woman and a 95 year old woman while they were in a hospital.

Yet, many young liberal French women are still encouraging the illegal migration to continue. Do they think they’ll be passed over when a migrant randomly gets horny for something and they’re in arms distance? None of it has to be this way.

Eventually, what has to be done will be done, but how many White Northern European people will have to suffer and die before the iron necessity happens?

My own reminiscence of a day spent in a form of captivity in the Middle East about 25 years ago: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/03/07/when-i-was-not-arrested-in-egypt/.

Rachel Reeves is a horrible woman, completely in the pocket of the Jewish/Zionist lobby, completely dishonest, and a freeloading pseudo-Labour MP of the worst kind.

Rachel Reeves currently poses as Shadow Chancellor, yet she ran up a large debt on her (interest-free) House of Commons credit card, and for a long time refused to repay it. Typical unmerited “entitlement”, and reminiscent of the Blair-Brown “MPs in clover” days. The details of that credit card fraud/freeloading have been removed from Wikipedia.

Get lost, you freeloading pseudo-intellectual fake.

If the Triple Lock is cut down, weaselled away, effectively abandoned, legions of State Pensioners will lash back at the “Conservative” Party. People aged 66+ years are the mainstay of the Con Party (both as voters and as members); if they go, the Con Party has no chance at the 2024 General Election and no future beyond that.

The Con Party (a far more accurate name than “Conservative”) is currently running at 25% in the opinion polls. The proportion of people of 65+ years in the UK is around 19%. The proportion of people aged 60+ is around 23%. Most of both categories vote Conservative. If even half of those abstain, or vote elsewhere, the nationwide Con Party vote might be as low as 15%, or even lower, and the number of Con Party seats after 2024 might be as few as 16 (Labour seats 548).

The two main System parties are both now without purpose. I had thought, a few years ago, that Labour would collapse first. Turns out that it will be the Con Party. Much as I despise most of the Labour MPs, particularly the Shadow Cabinet, and especially Israel puppet Starmer, the Con Party MPs have forfeited the right to live (speaking metaphorically and politically). Completely useless.

Incidentally, despite my now being (since 2022) a State Pensioner myself (hard for me to believe though that is), my views are not much coloured by that. I only receive about a half-pension anyway, having spent so many years overseas.

History comes full circle. Even a Jewish (albeit apparently anti-Zionist) tweeter has echoed my view that the attack on Gaza is most similar to the Reduction of the Warsaw Ghetto by German forces in 1943.

[Jews being led out of the Warsaw Ghetto by Waffen-SS men, 1943]

The German forces of 1943, mostly Waffen-SS, did not use poison gas in attacking the Warsaw Ghetto, and fought against the Jews (many of them armed) on the ground.

On that basis, the Jewish/Israeli attack on Gaza and its 2 million civilians is far more extreme than the German attack on the Warsaw Ghetto.

The Jews/Israelis are using massive air power to demolish whole neighbourhoods in Gaza. Now, if the Middle East Eye and Daily Telegraph reports are accurate, it seems that the Jews/Israelis may use poison gas (from what I have read somewhere or other —admittedly unverified— a cyanide compound similar to the “notorious” Zyklon B) to gas both Hamas operatives and unarmed civilians hiding below ground, and/or will use chemical “sponge bombs” to fill those tunnels, asphyxiating those in them.

History is more than ironic at times.

Having said that, we on the outside must just wait to see what happens. “In war, truth is the first casualty“…

The NWO/ZOG conspiracy has been exposed —yet again— in the past week. The masks really have come off. Von der Leyen, Macron, Nigel Farage etc, as well as more obvious puppets of Israel and the Jewish lobby such as Starmer, Sunak, and the “tail wags dog” American government and msm.

Oh dear…

Tommy Robinson [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Robinson_(activist)] gives his opinion. He claims, with reasonable plausibility, that he is not getting money directly from Israel (though that leaves in the air the question of from where he does get the money upon which he lives in his Spanish exile).

I slightly sympathize with “Robinson’s'” dislike of Hamas and even Fatah, but he seems unaware or uncaring about the strategic “big picture” that has unfolded since 1948 in Israel/Palestine.

I should be interested to see a similar graphic, I suppose it would have to be an ordinary graph, showing the amount and/or proportion of the UK economy controlled by Jewish interests in 1890, 1923, 1956, 1989, and this year.

“Robinson” might care to factor-in to his future comments the question of which group or groups control the political and msm narrative(s) in the UK, and in the West more generally. Not Hamas or Fatah, and not —most of the time— the Muslim community or communities, but mainly the Jewish lobby and/or Israel lobby.

If the Palestinians supporting Hamas (etc) are monstrous, they have been made monstrous— by Israel.

From the newspapers

https://www.thejc.com/news/news/woman-arrested-in-brighton-on-suspicion-of-supporting-hamas-3sTCtOzbDmhyGTB6Iw6xXY

The woman is believed to have made a speech at the event.

That is probably the first time I have ever agreed completely with anything tweeted by Aaron Bastani. Perhaps I should have it framed.

The West has lost moral authority. That is what happens when your governments are corrupted by Jew-Zionism not only in the Middle East but also in our own countries; in the UK, USA, France, Germany etc.

I should date the loss of American moral authority specifically (despite all that has happened since 1776) mainly to the events that happened in Iraq and Afghanistan a couple of decades ago, and what flowed from those invasions. The terrible Abu Ghraib, Bagram and other torture programmes, including so-called “extraordinary rendition”; also including the concentration camp at Guantanamo Bay.

Grant Shapps

Saw many tweets etc against the Jew Shapps; a few in his favour, too. What strikes me as incredible is that many discuss his words as if the fact that he is a Jew (indeed a fanatical Zionist Jew) is not really relevant! “After all, he has a UK passport“, “he was born in the UK, in Hertfordshire” etc…

Shapps was the head of the Zionist organization “Bnai Brith”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grant_Shapps.

Of course, Shapps was also a near-fraudulent business schemer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grant_Shapps#Business_ventures.

At least with the Israeli Jews in positions of political authority, you know that almost all of them have been in uniform, and quite a few have seen action (i.e. what you see is more or less what you get) but in Britain we now have the Shapps type, who really know nothing about defence or anything else. Not only Jews, incidentally— look at, to name only one other, Gavin Williamson. I blogged about him 4+ years ago: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/05/02/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-gavin-williamson-story/.

Actually, Britain cannot “go to war” anyway. For that, you need a functioning Army, Navy, and Air Force. Our very-reduced armed forces are now almost powerless, and indeed almost useless. In fact, I begin to wonder what is the point of even having them. Our very borders are open to any who wish to cross the Channel in a rubber boat. Migration invasion.

Needless to say, Matthew Parris fails to note that Shapps is a Jewish Zionist. I suppose that Parris wants to keep his job; anyone even noting en passant whether someone, even someone as incompetent and dishonest as Shapps, is a Jew, faces loss of job, loss of money, etc, maybe even prosecution…in fact, the Zionists rely on that kind of intimidation (in Europe, where the Jews have no Israeli Defence Force or secret police with which to frighten people).

Since the recent Gaza events, I have seen several tweets by well-known Jews in the UK effectively threatening to report to police, presumably to those police playing at “counter-terrorism”, anyone criticizing the Israeli actions.

Typical.

Incidentally, I have today seen tweets by Jews in the UK who support the Israeli actions, one saying that “In 2008, during [Operation] Cast Lead, Hamas had rockets that could only go a few kilometers. Now they can go 250 km. In 2008, Hamas didn’t have drones, amphibious assault teams, anti-tank missiles, anti-aircraft missiles. Now they do.

I agree with that. The operational capabilities of Israel’s enemies, both in Palestine and elsewhere, have grown greatly. The population of Tel Aviv will, sooner or later, be protected from air attack little more than is, now, the unfortunate population of Gaza.

In the old proverb, “old sins cast long shadows“…

I recall what a hullabaloo the UK msm made when the bridge was damaged by Kiev-regime attack. Now, though, no reportage. How odd (not).

Very English (to remove the flag, rather than… well, ’nuff said…).

The virtue-signallers have moved on. “Ukraine” (Kiev regime) is no longer flavour of the month. Now it is Israel (oddly; after all, a vast mechanized war machine is attacking a largely-unarmed civilian population, half of which is under18 years of age).

Russia will eventually triumph in Eastern Ukraine (Ukraine east of the Dnieper). The Kiev regime is living on borrowed time.

In other words, the Americans (US Govt, not ordinary Americans) are going to allow the Israeli Jews a “free hit” on the population of Gaza, half of whom are under 18, and at least quarter of whom are young or very young (0-12) in age.

This is going to be an even less equal fight than, say, the Reduction of the Warsaw Ghetto by German forces in 1943, or the wider Warsaw Uprising (involving Poles rather than Jews) in 1944: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto_Uprising#Main_revolt; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Uprising.

While “technically” perhaps not genocide, this is at least quasi-genocide.

Again it strikes me that, while the Israeli Jews kill tens of thousands (which may eventually be hundreds of thousands) in Gaza, the most vocal-on-social-media Jews in England are whining (and lying) about how they and their neighbours etc are “fearful” or “afraid“, or even “terrified” of (very limited, mostly “defensive” and only very rarely physically-manifested) “antisemitism” in the UK.

The hurt done to animals, both domestic and other, is another heavy sin to be carried by the Israelis as they further devastate Gaza.

The Israeli army continues to delay the start of the ground military operation in the Gaza Strip.

Now the IDF command has announced that the army will launch a ground operation after assessing the number of residents remaining in the enclave. The ID command had not previously mentioned such a condition. But the world community’s reaction to the events in the Gaza Strip could not but affect Netanyahu and his entourage.

Therefore, for the time being, the decision was made to achieve the evacuation of only the majority of the population from the enclave.

According to numerous Arabic TV channels, more than 800 thousand people have now left the northern Gaza Strip. However, a significant number of civilians still remain in the enclave. If Israel launches a military operation while there are hundreds of thousands of civilians in the Gaza Strip, it will lead to tragic consequences for the population.

In addition, the Israeli authorities fear the risks associated with the start of a ground operation, involving new participants in the conflict, after which the IDF will have to fight on two, and even three or four fronts. In addition, there is a high probability that the US will not become directly involved in an armed conflict.

Therefore, Israel seems to be delaying the start of the operation not to estimate the number of civilian population in Gaza, towards which the Israeli authorities have long shown indifference, but to assess the real prospects and risks of an invasion.”

Many of the “foreign citizens” are in fact Jews. They flee, panic-stricken.

A couple of cartoons which speak to me:

Another:

From the newspapers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12612267/IAN-BIRRELL-Inside-Gaza-Strip-Hamas-rules-iron-fist.html

Gaza has constant power cuts, dismal public services, dirty water and a crushing lack of jobs.

Most of its energy comes from Israel – but even the small contributions from Gaza’s single power plant, like all private generators, rely on imported diesel.

Much of the struggling health services depend on the United Nations and charities. Patients in need of more serious treatment require permission from Palestinian and Israeli officials to travel outside the Strip, which is ringed with 20ft fences, motion sensors, radar and cameras.

But the most critical shortage here is of hope. This is one of the world’s most densely populated places and has one of the youngest populations – yet more than two-thirds of young adults are unemployed, while eight in ten residents rely on external aid.

Although tens of thousands of Palestinians used to leave Gaza to work in Israel, the border was sealed after the Hamas takeover, so an entire generation has grown up never able to leave the Strip and never having met an Israeli.

This all makes it fertile ground for Hamas to find ‘martyrs’ for its twisted cause, especially amid the trauma of living under frequent attack and bombardment.

It is little wonder that past polls have found half of Gazans want to leave this blighted place – and no surprise that it was the source of the latest explosion of hatred to stain this turbulent region.

[Daily Mail].

A 2018 account from Conservative Party-supporting journalist Ian Birrell (he wrote some speeches for David Cameron-Levita c.2012), but interesting, and worth reading the full version.

Gaza has been called “an open prison” but it is is probably more accurate to call it a large-scale guarded ghetto. In fact, to me it resembles from a distance— I have never been there, nor (obviously) Israel— the Warsaw Ghetto of the early 1940s: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto.

That Wikipedia account has been subject to the (((usual))) bias, but gives the overall background.

The state of the police and the Crown Prosecution Service! Read that Daily Mail report.

All commonsense seems to have fled from both police and CPS. Real crime goes unpunished or not even investigated, while the police wet themselves over trivial incidents and/or people posting “wrong” thoughts online.

As for the CPS, they increasingly seem to specialize in making “State Trials” out of non-crimes.[see also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_trials].

Of course, casualties in Gaza will be given less prominence than those in Israel, because the Western mass media is —mostly— controlled, or at least heavily influenced, by Jew-Zionists.

Look at the Jewish religious festivals. Most, if not all, are effectively celebrations of ethnic supremacism from ancient history. We are talking about 2,500-3,000 years of historical development.

If you said half or a tenth as much about Jews, the msm “claque” would be screaming and (in the UK) the “poundland KGB” police would probably be making a nuisance of themselves…

Note: Mariam Barghouti is a Palestinian-American journalist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariam_Barghouti.

I caught a few minutes of Kay Burley on Sky News this morning. Complete pro-Israel bias. Not surprising. After all, the job pays well, and enough to dine at the Chiltern Firehouse, with bottles of wine at £400 apiece.

To be fair to Kay Burley, she did apparently put ludicrous “Foreign Secretary” James Cleverly on the spot, also today:

Having someone like Cleverly as Foreign Secretary is just embarrassing.

Interesting. I blogged about the Dogger Bank and its history, some years ago. See https://ianrobertmillard.org/2020/05/19/lost-doggerland-some-historical-changes-and-some-large-scale-projects/.

Political thoughts

The events in Israel/Palestine have resulted in an outpouring of System virtue-signalling.

Sunak, Starmer, and many others all falling over each other to pledge allegiance to Israel. Political con-man, and “controlled opposition” kingpin Nigel Farage, too. In a way, it is a good thing that those who are under that control have identified themselves.

On a different note, I wonder whether the “answer” to the otherwise intractable Gaza problem might be to establish a programme whereby Gazans can relocate to new towns across the Middle East, with co-operation of governments within the region. Instead of one very crowded city of 2 million inhabitants, 19-20 towns, each with 100,000 inhabitants. Gaza itself to be reduced to 100,000, or perhaps to be returned to sparsely-populated farmland.

The above “solution” might be acceptable both to the Gazans themselves (giving them greater freedom and better living conditions) and to the Israeli government (reducing the “security threat” to near-zero), if it could be organized.

Indeed Moscow, though it has had good relations with Israel, has much to gain from a new Middle Eastern conflict.

The U.S. is likely to feel pressure to strengthen Israel’s defences against Hamas rockets with weapons like the highly effective Patriot surface-to-air anti-missile system.

America does not have a big stockpile of these Patriots, and Israel will receive priority, meaning there will be far fewer for President Zelensky’s government.

Ukraine is forgotten: the largest American media after the start of the war in Israel closed their “online” coverage of events in Ukraine All major American media have curtailed their coverage of events in Ukraine in live short news mode. CNN, which reported “online” in Ukraine almost non-stop, stopped updating it on October 6. Since then, the link to the Ukrainian “online” has disappeared from the European version of the publication’s main page and has not appeared on it again. Almost simultaneously, The New York Times stopped online coverage of Ukraine. Its main page, like CNN’s, now covers events in Israel online.

The stories coming out of Gaza and Southern Israel are more than merely unpleasant; terrible. As far as the Palestinian combatants are concerned, if they are sometimes monstrous, it is because they have been made monstrous, and made so mainly by the behaviour of the Israeli Jews.

Diary Blog, 8 October 2023, including a look at the upcoming Tamworth and Mid-Bedfordshire by-elections

Afternoon music

Battles past

Tamworth and Mid-Bedfordshire by-elections 2023

Tamworth constituency has a fairly ancient history (on various different boundaries and names), going back to the 13th Century. Its most famous MP was Sir Robert Peel, who represented the town from 1830-1850 (he was MP for three other places from 1809-1830), and who was Prime Minister 1834-1835 and 1841-1846: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Peel.

The most recent MP, the appropriately-named Chris Pincher, was rather less distinguished, having been finally forced to resign in 2023 after several years of having been accused, then eventually adjudged guilty, of having sexually molested men, including MPs, in bars.

Looking at his Wikipedia entry, it seems that Pincher only became an MP in 2010, at age 41, and had done nothing very interesting prior to that (though Wikipedia is not infallible). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Pincher.

Tamworth, on its present boundaries, was held by Labour from 1997 (when the present seat was brought into being) until 2010; Pincher failed to secure the seat in 2005, but took it in 2010 with a vote-share of 45.8%. Thereafter, his percentage vote increased at every election, peaking in 2019 at 66.3%.

At that 2019 election, Labour Co-op came in second, but poorly, on 23.7%. The other 4 candidates were very much also-rans, only the LibDems retaining their deposit (with 5.3%).

The by-election will be held on 19 October 2023, and has attracted 9 candidates: Conservative, Labour, LibDem, Green, UKIP, Reform (the latest Farage vehicle), Britain First, Monster Raving Loony, and an independent. See https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-66864806 for candidates’ details.

This is probably a Con-Lab 2-horse race, with the LibDems possibly having a slim outsider chance. The Guardian has talked to a few voters: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/sep/30/tamworth-voters-byelection-tories-chris-pincher

The Government is obviously deeply unpopular, and also seen as useless. However, Labour is not much liked either. There may be protest vote possibilities, but the main object may be to send a message to the Government, and I suppose that a vote for Labour is most likely to cause the Government pain, if it results in the by-election ending with a Labour win.

Hard for me to call. I have only once even driven through the town, and that was long ago. Not an area I know. Overall, it seems to me that the LibDems are too marginal here to have much chance, so it is between Con and Lab. To elect the Labour candidate would require a huge swing, but I think that it must be possible, as public feeling now stands.

If Labour can pull it off at Tamworth, the 2024 General Election will look sealed. The over-used word “seismic” comes to mind.

So we turn to Mid-Bedfordshire.

Nadine Dorries had to be almost forced out of the seat she had held since 2005, and which had provided her with a good income; both salary and very inflated expenses. She was lucky to have avoided prosecution. A very stupid, entirely uneducated, but withal cunning woman. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadine_Dorries.

The by-election, to be held on 19 October 2023, the same day as that at Tamworth, has attracted no less than 13 candidates, mostly minor or crank.

Nadine Dorries scored 59.8% at the 2019 General Election (Labour 21.7%, LibDems 12.6%).

Mid-Bedfordshire has been a Conservative Party seat since the 1920s.

This would normally be a shoo-in for the Conservative Party candidate, but several factors make that less than likely. Anger at the freeloading and fraudulent behaviour of Nadine Dorries. The general anger at the present Government. Perhaps also the fact that the Con candidate is a careerist black: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festus_Akinbusoye.

The Conservative Party candidate is presently Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire, only came to the UK at 13 from his native Nigeria, and is a Mormon.

The opinion polls have Con and Lab neck and neck, with the LibDems not far behind. Tactical voting may play the decisive role, but does that mean anti-Con voters voting Labour, or voting LibDem?

Reform, the Farage vehicle, is polling around 7%, as is county council chairman Gareth Mackey, standing as Independent.

Very hard to call, but Labour may just have the edge.

I suppose that the other point is that Sunak may be pressured to stand down as Con Party leader if one contest is lost (or only if both are lost?).

[Update, 22 January 2024: in the end, Labour won both by-elections.

At Tamworth, the Labour candidate won with 45.8% of the vote, Con Party in second with 40.7%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Tamworth_by-election.

In Mid-Bedfordshire, the result was even closer, Labour winning with 34.1% of the vote, Con 31.1%, and the LibDems doing well in third on 23.1%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Mid_Bedfordshire_by-election.

In both by-elections, Reform UK proved underwhelming (4th and 5th placed, respectively).

Sunak did not resign, despite the double loss.].

Whatever may be said of Labour or Angela Rayner, that tweet is surely correct. The 2024 General Election is Labour’s to lose. The Conservative Party is just dissolving. I notice that evil sociopath Chris Grayling is now not going to stand for re-election.

Having said that, I see many white-haired and grey-haired people at that Labour show. All System parties are dying, and have few young people supporting them.

Exactly. A million a year coming in, and only a few hundred thousand people (mostly real Brits) leaving (for Australia, New Zealand etc) each year. Result— misery.

Actually, many of the replies to the above tweet show how unthinking the self-describing “Left” pseudo-socialists are. They really think that importing millions of backward persons has no effect on housing provision etc; either that, or they do not care. They really should be regarded and treated as outright traitors.

Well, looking at Downing Street this evening, does anyone now doubt what embedded group is pulling the strings of both the “Conservative” and “Labour” parties?

According to the Turkish sources, due to dwindling stocks of Iron Dome missiles, the Israeli army is not supplying ammunition to some units armed with the complex, with the exception of three batteries in Tel Aviv, one battery in Jerusalem and one battery in Netivot in southern Israel.

The seven batteries do not supply any ammunition or fire, and they only have a limited number of anti-aircraft guided missiles in case Palestinian missiles fly towards critical targets. This explains the fact that launches on Ashkelon, Ashdod and Sderot cause virtually no opposition.”

Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election

Regular readers of the blog will know that I comment rarely on Scottish politics in detail. However, a few words about the by-election.

Obvious points:

Labour won convincingly, its candidate a 35-y-o who resigned from Labour over “antisemitism”, rejoined after Starmer took over, and is a local schoolteacher: https://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/23511246.labour-pick-activist-quit-party-by-election-candidate/; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Shanks_(politician).

The SNP crashed from 44.2% in 2019 to 27.5%. To what extent that reflects hostility to the former MP, to the “nationalist” SNP having a Pakistani leader, to the Sturgeon scandal, and/or to the SNP’s failing record in government, is hard to say. Whether the result also reflects disenchantment with the idea of breaking away from the UK is also hard to say. Maybe a mixture of all of the foregoing.

For me, the fall in Conservative Party support from 15% to 3.9% is significant. The previous lowest point had been in 2005 (8.4%). A straw in the wind re. the 2024 General Election. At present, it looks as if only the safest Conservative seats (in England) will be held next year.

Turnout was only 37.2%, scarcely more than half of that in 2019. People are aware that the electoral system is just a rigged con-trick most of the time.

According to a poll from King’s College London, one in three British people believe the great replacement is happening. By the standards of liberal discourse, this means one third of the British public are far-right extremists, holding a view that is never represented in mainstream media and censored off most social media. Despite the heavy censorship and vilification of people who hold this view, people see the reality of rapidly changing demographics in their homelands.

Almost half the people polled disagreed. Are they blind, or just stupid?!

This week, the Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson addressed the nation on the “unprecedented” rise in gang-related violence, calling on the military to assist the police in a situation that is increasingly out of control. Kristersson blamed “irresponsible immigration policy” and “failed integration” for this worsening crisis, stating: “Political naivety and cluelessness have brought us to this point. Irresponsible immigration policy and failed integration have brought us to this point.

Exclusion and parallel societies feed the criminal gangs, providing space for them to ruthlessly recruit children and train future killers.”

11 people were shot dead last month alone in Sweden, the second highest ever recorded in a single month.

Sweden’s upsurge in violent crime coincided with a large rise in inward migration in the 2010s. Sexual assault also rose under the previous self-labelled “feminist government”. A report in 2018 found that 8 in 10 ‘stranger’ rapes were carried out by migrants.”

Alex said that he could guarantee that the Soviet Government would turn a profit on it.

He ought to have known, he himself having been arrested and convicted, on entirely invented evidence, of having been a spy for a number of secret services. He had been about 18 at the time, and the arrest came in 1948, the peak of the postwar purge. He had then spent 5 years in a camp in the region of Archangel in Northern Russia. Stalin’s death in 1953 had saved him, and millions of others, from longer or worse.

Saw a few minutes of Sunak’s speech. Pretty pathetic. The HS2 fiasco has become symbolic. Not that I was ever anything other than opposed to the ridiculous vanity project anyway, but now we have massive cost, massive environmental damage etc, but no useful train line at all, just a line that goes to or from Birmingham but only to an outer suburb of London, thus losing its purpose altogether. As said, pathetic.

It seems that Sunak is trying to portray himself as a Prime Minister, when the whole country knows that his popularity (as was that of even more useless Liz Truss) has never been tested via General Election. The longer Sunak holds on, and the longer he puts off a General Election, the worse his position is likely to become. However, if a general election were to be held this year, the result would almost certainly be a disaster for the Conservative Party, and the number of its MPs likely be reduced to around 100, maybe only 50 or so. Therefore, the circus will have to continue into 2024, maybe until December 2024.
