When I returned to the UK after a spell in Rhodesia, aged not quite 21, in 1977, I had no serious (well they were taken seriously, back then…) educational qualifications such as “A” Levels or a degree (having dropped out of school aged 16). I did not start to acquire such exam-pass qualifications until I was in my mid-twenties. However, it was very easy in those days to pick up casual/temporary low-level jobs in warehouses, factories, Post Office sorting facilities (heaving sacks of mail around) etc. You really had only to apply, in most cases. That was then.
Later, I acquired a law degree, then a Bar qualification (in fact, two, being Bar of England and Wales and the Bar of the State of New York, as well as a couple of “comity admissions” in other jurisdictions.
Terrible architecture (the new one; the older one merely undistinguished), but the worst thing is that Nature had a little space or haven there previously; now none.

A very large proportion of the Conservative Party vote in 2024, as always in the past, consisted of people over 60. Many former Con voters, though, did not vote, or voted Reform. The Con Party has not recovered, and will (in my opinion) never recover. Abandoning the Triple Lock would hammer in the final nail.
Now, bearing in mind that the Con Party is already usually opinion-polling below 20%, imagine the reaction from the pensioner voters were the Con Party to abandon the Triple Lock; Con Party support would decline to around 15%, maybe even to 10%, and the party be all but wiped out.
The same is true of Labour, though. Labour polling is already on or nearly on life support. Getting rid of the Triple Lock would dent the surviving Labour vote very considerably. At GE 2024, 20% of voters aged 70+ were still voting Labour, as were 28% of voters aged 60-69.
So far, Reform has pledged to retain the Triple Lock, thus locking-in a good proportion of that crucial 60+ age-group vote.
Look at the Con Party. Led by a Nigerian woman (that, alone…) who is a finance-capitalist stooge completely in the pocket of the Israel/Jewish lobby, and who only has a British passport because her parents deliberately had her born in London (only staying for a few days in 1980).
Are many people going to vote Con, either at the next GE or in the 7 May 2026 local elections? I doubt it.

The first political party in government to remove the Triple Lock will lose the pensioner vote, or 90%+ of it, at once and forever. The bloc of those over 55 years of age (so pensioners plus those within about a decade of becoming pensioners) comprises at least 40% of all voters, and over 50% in quite a few marginal seats.
That, also is a voting bloc which, by and large, does vote, whereas younger voters, esp. twenty-somethings, tend not to bother. The 40% and 50% figures just given are therefore, and on the ground, more like 50% and 60%. Any party or made-up party (such as that lady’s “Moderates”) ignores the realities at its peril.

As a matter of fact, I myself think that the police behaved outrageously in that instance.

Allison Pearson has made common cause with the “CAA” snoopers and “lawfare” abusers. The police have been at my door about 5 or 6 times since 2013, always because some Jew or other has made up a contrived complaint. See the blog articles posted below. A few telephone calls too. The last time was only about a year ago, when some policeman at the door confronted me with Twitter/X posts, which (apart from the language used, which never could have been from me) were from, I think, 2024, and I have not posted on Twitter/X since I was permanently “suspended (expelled) in 2018, when —once again— a pack of Jews combined to “complain” about me.
Seems that the police (posing as a poundland KGB or Stasi) think that I am the only Ian Millard in the world, or in the UK, or posting online. Are they really so ineffective and unthinking? No wonder (real) crime is exploding.

I suppose that the Massie tweeter [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Massie_(journalist)] represents, apart from himself, some strand of Conservative Party thinking, he being the Scotland Editor of the Spectator. Thus we see how the Con Party has no chance, in my view, of revival; willing to impoverish one of the most important voting blocs, those of pensionable age, in order to waste money on “defence” (i.e. the misconceived aggressiveness towards Russia, as well as support for the Israeli Jews’ war machine).

James Wilson was the successful claimant in the fairly recent libel case Wilson v. Mendelsohn, Newbon (deceased), and Cantor.
It looks very much as if the self-publicizing Jewish solicitor Mark Lewis once again gave advice that was both professionally negligent and dishonest. As a result, one of the two surviving Jewish defendants, Cantor, will probably be losing his family home in order to satisfy the costs of the successful claimant, Wilson.
Newbon was a vituperative social media troll and Israel fanatic. If I have understood the matter correctly, he was also misled by Lewis and other Jews, and killed himself during the currency of the legal case, and after his wife, kept in the dark up to that point, discovered that his actions might mean the loss of their family home.

As to Lewis’s claim that he was only aggressive on social media by reason of short-term use of drugs for medical purposes circa 2015/2016, well…he was abusing me on Twitter as early as 2011, together with, at first, his then wife, Caroline Feraday, a very minor London radio/TV wannabee “celebrity” of the late 1990s (they relocated to California, but were divorced after a year by reason of his abusive behaviour towards her etc. Lewis then returned to the Golders Green area of London but now lives much of the time in Israel).
