This may come about not by humanity losing a “war” with robots etc but by humanity simply becoming gradually more enmeshed by (and in) technology which is just too convenient, and which then becomes irremovable.

A 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting Matt Hancock on the London Tube.

The alleged attack on the former Health Secretary happened yesterday morning at Westminster Underground station, close to the Houses of Parliament.” [Daily Mirror]

What puzzles me slightly is why Hancock would travel by Underground anyway. He has a salary of £85,000+, generous Parliamentary expenses, and outside earnings (including £400,000 in 2022 for his trash TV appearances) etc. Maybe he is just a moneygrubbing skinflint.

Put a beggar on a horse and he rides it to death” [German proverb].

Looks as though my blog comments about half-Jew Raab, from several years ago, and over several years, have held up pretty well, if I say so myself.

Sending hundreds of tanks to Ukraine (from all over Europe and the USA) is a massive escalation. In reality, even one nuclear missile on London = the UK finished for a hundred years or more. Even one nuclear missile on each of New York, LA, San Francisco, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Houston, Miami, Chicago, Boston = USA finished for decades, maybe a hundred years or more.

Yes, Russia’s major cities and military centres too, but does that help us? No.

This is not the way to go. The escalation has to stop, and then be reversed.

The present UK Defence Secretary is what was once termed “a passed-over major“, a former officer who, when serving, was unlikely ever to reach senior command. Not someone who can be relied on now.

As a matter of fact, Wallace was a mere captain, not even a major, by the end of his service. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Wallace_(politician)#Early_life.

Amazing how many deluded or misled people actually think that “Jack Monroe” is busying around, collating useful or relevant data about the cost of food; in fact, she just collates enough to sound superficially credible to those who know no better.

No-one I know wants a “Labour” (fake) government, but no-one I know wants the present fake “Conservative” omnishambles either, and it will be good to see the anguish on their faces as many lose their seats, salaries, inflated expenses, jobs for wives, husbands, girlfriends, mistresses etc.

That Tom Harwood person is just another pseudo-national traitor to the people of Britain and the peoples of Europe.

That was what happened in the Royal Navy and the U.S. Navy.

I recall that, when I first lived in the USA, in 1989 or 1990, the first US Navy ship to go mixed-sex was deployed to the Gulf. An aircraft-carrier, I think. The sailors did not object to nearly 100 women sailors joining the crew, but their wives certainly did! With some reason: when the deployment finished, it turned out that about 90 of the —less than 100— women on board had been made pregnant…

As for the Royal Navy, it matters little now, because the Royal Navy scarcely exists as an effective force. Apart from the paucity of ships, there is the question of the quality of many of the officers and men.

I happened to see about 15 mins of a documentary about a British warship. About a third of the complement seemed to be women. The junior officers (men and women) seemed to be incredibly dim, and rather wet (in a non-oceanic way). Drunk, too.

As for the crew, their shore leave in Italy ended with many drunk and near-incapable. Admittedly, rather an old naval tradition, but it was unpleasant to see, especially, the female members of the crew so drunk that they were unable to walk, falling into the gutter in their short skirts, just as they presumably did in the “left behind” UK towns from where many of them must have originated.

Ha ha! Now that really is funny. I think that, out of all the absurd tales made up by (mostly) Jews about the Second World War and the so-called “holocaust” farrago, that is pretty much the best yet.

Your friendly local medical centre is becoming just another “grift”, taking large amounts of money but providing little support.

It’s quite funny, in a bitter way— decades, even centuries, of Irish nationalism have come to exactly nothing, and now even the pathetic Sinn Fein/IRA rump has caved in. Ireland is ruled by globalist puppets (including a half-Indian gay doctor as “Taoiseach”), and is being flooded by blacks and browns.

Should have gone to Specsavers…

Like most System politicians, that one deserves a good kicking.

Very few of that 1M+ believe “Jack Monroe”, or give her any credence.

As a former quasi-celebrity who has had her “15 minutes of fame”, she is pretty much dead in the water, but so long as 631 utter mugs keep sending her money each and every month (between £3.50 and £44 each), she will probably not be too worried that most people have woken up to her nonsense.

You mean the Indian money-juggler posing as Prime Minister?

I have blogged more than once about this. The “Bootstrap Cook” has not launched legal action, and will not. The money she “grifted” from mugs wanting to help her sue Con Party MP, Lee Anderson (and also “alt-lite” commentator Martin Daubney) has been kept by her and my belief (unless I see convincing evidence otherwise) is that she has stolen it.

I also believe that the police should be taking an interest in “Jack Monroe” and her whole range of activities.

Less subtle thieves than “Jack Monroe”

Look at the Tesco employee in that clip! He would not notice if a tank crashed through the wall. What a deadhead!

I wonder how long it has been since the thieves landed on the Sussex beaches in their rubber boat?

Diary Blog, Christmas Day, 2022

My Christmas and Yuletide greetings to all well-intentioned readers of the blog, to all Europe, and to the wider world.

Christmas morning music

On this day a year ago

Stray thought

It is always suspect to draw general conclusions from personal experience, at least without more. All the same, we have to start somewhere, like Newton and his apple.

It seems to me that there is an absence of what I recall as “Christmas feeling”. Am I wrong to believe that the feeling of Christmas as a special time has ebbed away over the past couple of decades? If so, why has it happened? It cannot simply be economic stringency etc, looking at the travails of the 20th Century— wars, the Great Depression etc.

I am not talking about religious or wider spiritual belief or adherence, but the actual feeling of Christmas-time. Do “the young”, children etc feel the same, or is the feeling of— what? Flatness? Unease?— connected to the nostalgia which is more naturally an accompaniment of greater age? I do not know.

I come to no conclusion here, but have raised the question. It worries me. I think that it goes beyond Christmas, too.

Seems to be a good idea in principle. I wonder, though, how much electricity such an installation can produce, and how it can be distributed.

Christmas TV

I doubt that I shall watch TV much in the next few days. Today, saw a few minutes of a religious service (Church of England) on BBC TV. It was from Blackburn Cathedral, a cathedral of which I had never heard, and in a town which I have never visited.

Instead of a traditional carol, something which sounded like the soundtrack for a black mass in a horror film; admittedly, I only saw a few minutes of the whole thing. Instead of a robed officiant such as a priest, a large black man wearing a kind of lumberjack shirt. As for the congregation (or should that be “audience”?), a relatively small crowd. The camera zoomed in on a young British-seeming couple with a tiny baby. The (?) husband and/or (?) father looked stressed or even (as it seemed to me) spiteful, somehow. No smiles seen from either. Were they actors? I suppose not; after all, actors might have simulated some happier look.

Nein danke…I switched off from it.

From the newspapers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11572881/CIA-spate-explosions-Russia-veteran-claims-CIA-NATO-ally-sabotage.html

The CIA is combining with the spy service of a NATO ally in Europe to conduct covert sabotage operations inside Russia, according to new claims.

The clandestine campaign is behind many unexplained explosions and fires that have hit strategic or prominent facilities in recent months, says US expert Jack Murphy, an eight-year Army Special Operations veteran.

Separately other European intelligence services have allegedly been ‘running operatives into Russia to create chaos without CIA help’, as has Ukraine.

[Daily Mail]

Insanity like that (if true, is proven) can have only one result, eventually— escalation, leading to Russian strategic nuclear attack on both North America (both cities and military bases, ports etc) and Western Europe (particularly the UK, particularly London).

Morning music

On this day a year ago

Incidentally, reading about Cecil Parkinson in that blog post from a year ago, I looked up on Google Earth the street and house where he was born (and probably brought up): 4 Edward Street, Carnforth, Lancashire. I have rarely seen such a poor-looking street in the UK. To go from there to the Cabinet, as a Conservative MP at that, took some talent, whatever one may think of him otherwise. He was truly at least a spruce, if not an oak, of his own generation.

Margaret Thatcher was told of Parkinson’s sex scandal (his former secretary pregnant by him) by Parkinson himself. Despite that, she wanted him to become Foreign Secretary but he demurred and accepted a lesser post, though still in the Cabinet (but he felt impelled to resign when the scandal became public knowledge): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecil_Parkinson.

It is not impossible to imagine that, had he accepted the FCO post, then not resigned in 1983, Parkinson might well have become Prime Minister eventually.

Times have certainly changed, when one looks at the tangled mess of sexual scandal, incompetence, and corruption around “Boris”-idiot’s tenure in office.

Parkinson was a relatively competent minister, whose achievements included, when Secretary of State for Transport from 1989, the initiation of the Crossrail project.

Apart from that, it strikes me how necessary it is for a politician, in the words of the Spice Girls, to “really really want” to become Prime Minister, if ambitious. A vague wish or preference is not enough.

David Davis had at least two chances to seize the Conservative Party leadership in the past decade, but was just not hungry enough in the end.

Likewise, after Chamberlain resigned in 1940 (after Dunkirk), Lord Halifax was the obvious successor, but at the meeting chaired by Chamberlain and attended by Churchill (and Brendan Bracken), Chamberlain spoke against Churchill as PM but Halifax then expressed what he claimed was his own unfitness to become PM (he was Foreign Secretary at the time).

Churchill at first kept silent (a tactic previously advised by Bracken) and then more or less crowned himself.

What a difference that made!

Had Halifax become Prime Minister, an armistice with the German Reich would have been agreed by Autumn 1940 if not before. Britain would therefore have become neutral, in effect, when Germany attacked the Soviet Union the following year. There would have been no London Blitz, no bombing of England, no later and terrible carpet bombing of Germany, no Atlantic War at sea, no Normandy landings, no years of rationing in the UK. Very likely, Germany would have destroyed the Soviet regime and toppled Stalin in or after 1941.

These things matter. Even when (as in the UK today) there is really one System “political class” split into two main and rather similar parties, it still matters which party is in power, and it also matters who exactly is Prime Minister.

The director of the Wellcome Collection, Melanie Keen, was appointed in 2019. A year later she pledged to be courageous in dealing with the most contentious items on display there.

The announcement was welcomed by some Twitter followers but attacked by several others. “An act of cultural vandalism to close without even having any idea of what will take its place,” wrote one.

“Is there no one who can get rid of these cultural vandals instead or does the rot go all the way to the top? Is this the prelude to whole museums closing because their collections aren’t woke enough?” another asked.

[reported in the Guardian]

Yes, let’s indeed “get rid” of those vandals.

Incidentally, this is the “Melanie Keen” who has closed down the museum:

Hard to know whether this is the start of another great upheaval in China or whether the protests will just be repressed, as they were in 1989.

In any event, seems that at least the more aware Chinese are against more “panicdemic” “lockdown” nonsense.

I myself opposed the UK equivalent in 2021-2022, openly opposing the facemask nonsense (rarely wearing a facemask, and doing so as carelessly as possible when forced to), not getting “vaccinated”, not taking “social distancing” at all seriously, and mocking the whole nonsense as much as possible, both in person and online. As for the ludicrous “Rule of Six”, invented by “Boris”-idiot, that never applied to me; by reason of my generally anti-social preferences, I was never in a situation with more than six people present during 2020-2022.

Hard to know whether, or to what extent, this whole problem has been created by sheer incompetence, or whether it is deliberate, conditioning the masses to accept rationing. Meanwhile, the ultra-wealthy few are buying up land, eg in the UK. Particularly land in the prime agricultural counties. James Dyson is only one example. He has bought vast tracts of Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and other counties. Mostly in one loosely-connected group.

Just as the WEF says “you will own nothing, and be happy“, which is strange, or not so strange, when you see that the richest are multiplying their riches. Bezos, Musk, many others. That is why it is comforting when one realizes that those billionaires, some of whom own hundreds of billions of UK pounds or US dollars, are still subject to the Primal Karma of mankind that Buddha noted— old age, sickness, and death. Death is the Great Equalizer, and I found it oddly comforting when I read that the rather unpleasant Steve Jobs had snuffed it.

The conspiracy behind those billionaires (and of which they may well be unaware, in fact) does want the peoples of the Earth to be “happy“, in a sense. Not right now, before the worldwide government has been totally clamped down, but later. The reason is simple: “happy” (complacent, brainwashed) people do not revolt, do not even question. They will be given a hi-tech version of the “bread and circuses” that kept the plebs of Rome quiescent most of the time. Circuses? I mean such as I’m A Celebrity, Love Island, “reality” (unreality) shows of all sorts, increasingly vulgar, increasingly divorced from any actual reality. That, and also globalized televised sports spectaculars, such as the World Cup.

I await the next brave warrior who will take action.

I have been loving the scalded reaction to Musk’s new Twitter regime; not least, the reaction on Twitter itself. From the Jew-Zionists in particular. They call themselves, between themselves, “J-Twitter”. Now they fear that, not only will they be unable to repress the free speech of others but also that they themselves may be “cancelled”. Little Matt Hancock

I wrote the following assessment of “deadhead MP” Matt Hancock over three years ago, long before he betrayed his constituents by accepting £400,000 to go on the so-called “reality” (i.e. unreality) show I’m A Celebrity— Get Me Out of Here:

Looking at that assessment again, I have to say that it has held up rather well despite having been written over three years ago, in September 2019.

The Church of England’s latest low point

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-11473075/PETER-HITCHENS-does-Church-England-knee-football.html.

The leadership of that Church, always the first to surrender to the spirit of the age, has even advised vicars to avoid having carol services on the Sunday before Christmas in case they clash with some football tournament now raging in the Middle East.

A document called Making The Most Of The World Cup Final 18th December 2022, says: ‘Churches often hold carol services in the afternoon or evening, and this could still be possible if you choose the time carefully… but what if there are penalties?! It may be best to avoid that day altogether and host a carol service on Saturday 17 instead.’

And the grotesque Nativity play, called Greatest Of All Time, is one of ‘just a few ideas for how you could use the World Cup as a missional tool this Advent and Christmas’. I am not making this up.”

[Peter Hitchens, in the Mail on Sunday]

Pathetic bastards. They, and the Vicar of Dibley types (and/or the slab-faced lesbian “priestesses”) now found everywhere should each be issued with a toothbrush and a section of pavement to clean, as a penance.

Incidentally, the Mail is now “allowing” comments on Hitchens’ column, albeit “moderated” (monitored and censored), for the first time. Perhaps the “Overton Window” is moving a little…

The Guardians

I have continued to watch The Guardians, for the first time since it was shown in 1971. Worth seeing. It should be put on again, perhaps on some nostalgia channel such as Talking Pictures TV:

To my mind, the series was better in its first half-dozen episodes; the final two episodes (12 and 13) are a little too talky, a little contrived too, and the ending was not so plausible, but overall the series was quite creditable, if very much of its time.

Since I assessed Jack Monroe/Bootstrap Cook on the blog nearly 2 months ago, I have watched the debate about her unfold (it started in late July).

One thing that occurred to me, looking at some Twitter accounts, is that (in my opinion) several of those accounts supporting her fervently are, in fact “Jack Monroe” herself. That is purely my opinion, though based on a number of factors. The impression given is that, while many tweeters are critical of Jack Monroe, others, of various kinds, support her. Somehow, much of it does not ring true, though I concede that that is my opinion, and not something that I can call established fact.

I am puzzled why people should decide that, out of all the “good causes” out there, the one that they want to support —to the tune of anywhere between £3.50 and £44 a month each— is a young woman whose parents are apparently rather affluent, who already has several sources of income, and who is hugely better-off financially than millions of people in this country.

All that Jewish-lobby puppet and Pakistani Muslim apostate Sajid Javid wants is more power for the State, to repress the views of social-nationalism. A horrible little NWO/ZOG drone.

Neither does the corrupt Jew-Zionist dictator Zelensky. Almost funny: I saw a tweet from one of his American supporters applauding the fact that the Kiev-regime government “is 80% Jewish“.

There is truth in both points of view. Even accepting that defence is or will be necessary, a few small arms will not be very effective defence against a modern state armed with jets, helicopters, drones, tanks, armoured cars etc, not to mention large numbers of trained soldiers and police.

Ha ha. Just imagine future historians trying to work out why the Jewess Monica Lewinsky had 1.2M Twitter “followers” in 2022, when basically all she is known for is sucking her employer’s **** a few times, 40 years ago. Society is just mad, now, and that is nowhere more obvious, usually, than in the USA.

Even Ireland has gone mad.

The enemies of civilization will do anything to stop it being known or accepted that almost everything worthwhile in the world today comes from the European or, more accurately, the Aryan and post-Aryan.

Arguing or “debating” with the enemies of our culture and civilization is a waste of time. We are not in a debate but in a war, albeit a slow-burn race-culture war.

“Jack Monroe”, “Bootstrap Cook”

Saw many tweets lambasting Waterstones for promoting the latest Jack Monroe book, Thrifty Kitchen, to be published in January 2023 at a cover price of nearly £20, but already discounted to £9.99. I wonder whether the “Bootstrap Cook” brand is now damaged beyond repair. Still, 665 mugs are still paying Jack Monroe between £3.50 and £10 a month each as an absurd act of virtue-signalling, so I imagine that she is pretty sanguine (so long as the thousands of pounds continue to roll in monthly).

I also saw this:

“Mark Lewis Lawyer” is not much of a threat to people who, even if they have libelled someone (not always as clear-cut as many imagine) have defences such as “truth”, “honest opinion”, “publication on a matter of public interest”, and/or either absolute or qualified “privilege”.

I have assessed and written about Mark Lewis several times over the years, though not recently (in fact not since 2018 or 2019). I would dispute that any of what I have written about him is actionable, but in fact he has never even threatened me with a defamation action, no doubt because he knows that he would lose, but also because he knows that my financial circumstances (both capital and income) are now such that even any victory in court would be of little use when any damages and costs awarded could never be collected. See below for more about Lewis.

As for the “Bootstrap Cook”, her libel victory over Katie Hopkins was inevitable. It took no legal skill at all, or very little, in my view, bearing in mind that, as far as the libel itself was concerned, it had occurred because Katie Hopkins had demonstrably said something untrue about Jack Monroe (apparently mistaking her for the obscure socio-political scribbler Laurie Penny) that had caused Jack Monroe serious harm. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monroe_v_Hopkins.

See also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurie_Penny.

It occurs to me that the “Bootstrap Cook” may have become a little gung-ho about libel actions after her easy victory over Katie Hopkins, who not only had to pay Jack Monroe £24,000 but also to sell her house to pay the £300,000 legal costs of Jack Monroe, a goodly chunk of which went, no doubt, to “Mark Lewis Lawyer”. Probably a third or so.

Not all defamation actions are so simple, or the awards and costs so easily collected.

The (whites-only) referendum of 1992 which ended apartheid resulted with nearly 70% in favour of ending that applied concept and, in effect, in favour of handing over power to the ANC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_South_African_apartheid_referendum.

Tragic. Those idiots thought that their way of life would be mainly upheld if they appeased the ANC. How wrong they were. Gave up their historically-conferred right, and what for? A comfortable life, a swimming pool, rugby, an SUV in the drive, a beer in a sports bar, golf, and no outright war.

Had they only held on for a short while, South Africa as a white European-origin country would have survived. The collapse of the Soviet Union and its satellites meant that funds and arms to the black rebels would have been cut off. Cuba, so prominent in so-called “liberation” struggles in Africa (Angola, Mozambique, South-West Africa/Namibia etc) was also cut off from Soviet funding after 1991, and had to withdraw from Africa.

The white population could have accelerated real apartheid, laagering the white populations mainly in specific parts of the country, as already planned for, and creating autonomous black zones and regions.

South Africa could have defended itself easily, with its powerful armed forces (including a navy, an airforce, as well as army); it even had atom bombs (six, which were dismantled in the mid-1990s). Other very advanced weapons too.

Water under the bridge now? Yes, but the white and the black populations continue to suffer the effects, not of white rule but of black rule.

British society has not been so rigged, fixed (in both senses) and socially-immobile for a century or more.

Behind such decisions, the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan. The UK (and all of Europe) to be favourable to non-white invaders.

A black woman accused of doing a very similar thing is due in criminal court in Bristol in January 2023.

I was partly brought up on, and still love, the lush music of John Barry, the popular easy-listening music of a post-1945 Western civilization now in crisis.

Income inequality can be social inequity

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/nov/14/chairman-greggs-millionaires-more-tax-jeremy-hunt
Ten years ago, in the epilogue of my book Bread: The Story of Greggs, I stressed the need for the astonishing increase in top earnings in Britain to be curbed. At that time this was considered a serious problem. Yet despite the best efforts of many influential public voices, this position never translated into policy.

Sadly, since then, the growing divide has become even more extreme.. The richest 10% of households now hold 43% of all the country’s wealth, according to the Office for National Statistics. The bottom 50% hold only 9%. We now have 177 billionaires in this country, up from just 29 in 2010, with a combined wealth of £653bn. The difference between very wealthy and less well-off people has become obscene.”

Saturday quiz

Well, this week a fairly easy win over political journalist John Rentoul. He scored, as he puts it, “two and a half” out of 10 (2/10); I trumped that with 5/10.

I did not know the answers to questions 3, 5, 7, and 9, and I award myself also null points for question 1 (I knew that it was a rodent, but could not think of the name; looking at his tweets, seems that John Rentoul was in the same position but awarded himself half a point anyway).

Jack Monroe, the “Bootstrap Cook”

Many have now read my assessment of “Jack Monroe”, aka the “Bootstrap Cook”. See https://ianrobertmillard.org/2022/09/30/diary-blog-30-september-2022-including-an-assessment-of-jack-monroe-aka-the-bootstrap-cook/, and the very critical profiles penned by others (see my assessment and other recent blog posts for details).

Part of the criticism is that the “Bootstrap Cook” takes monies on the Patreon website while not fulfilling her promises to supply various goods and services to the donors. She is said to make between £2,500 and £6,650 a month in cash (minus website fees) from regular Patreon donations (from 665 regular donors as of today).

That is in addition to a number of other income streams, such as book royalties, paid appearances etc. I presume child benefit/support as well.

The “Bootstrap Cook” is also said to have crowdfunded for monies with which to sue Lee Anderson MP and political commentator Martin Daubney in defamation, (and to have kept and/or spent those monies on herself or her lifestyle). Certainly no libel action has been launched as yet (6 months after threatening tweets by her to that effect).

I happened to see news of the current legal process and expected trial of a black woman “activist” in Bristol, which I shall not comment on substantively at this time: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11417065/BLM-organiser-helped-run-demo-toppled-Edward-Colstons-statue-charged-fraud.html.

I presume that, if the matter proceeds beyond the first “mags” appearance in January 2023, that it will go to the Crown Court.

Worth reading…

Not sure that I would call someone whose income is £125,000 per year pre-tax, “wealthy“. “Affluent“, maybe. “Much better off than me” certainly, especially after my past decade of “hard-up-ness” and struggle. However, I am not at all sympathetic to people on such a comfortable level of income, looking at the poverty and near-poverty around.

The Conservative Party and Government is useless on the cross-Channel migration-invasion question, but this is mad: how can it be a “solution” to immigration, including the Channel invasion, simply to let almost all of the blacks and browns in “legally”?! That is not a “solution” but another word beginning with “s”— surrender.

I suppose that what the decadent, declining British people (voters) want is not to have to read about the invasion, or see it on TV news.

So long as it takes place fairly quietly, with British towns and cities relatively slowly changing their character with the expanding population of non-whites, many decadent British bien-pensant types will applaud it, and even the less-invested people might accept it, then return to their TV sets, on which they can watch “British” non-white sports teams, watch TV ads where a white family is a rarity in dramas and ads, and so on.

In fact, this is all part of the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan, the “great replacement” of whites by non-whites throughout Europe. A giant conspiracy by transnational exploiters and evil-doers.

From the simple UK political point of view though, it is clear that the Conservative Party is toast now, and no amount of “spin” from Indian supposed “clever boy” and money-juggler, Sunak, will save it.

What is the agenda behind the agenda?

[Bohemian Grove ritual, Northern California]

Thank you, General.

Idiots like that Question Time woman are everywhere on TV etc (less so in real life, though still often found), and are the very gravediggers of our country, and of our whole culture and civilization.

Most “Covid” “cases” are little different than cases of mild colds or influenza anyway. The whole “panicdemic” hysteria was and (to the extent that it still exists) is mad, like one of the Alice in Wonderland situations.

There is a conspiracy of silence in the mass media about this.

Just one example of the crazed “woke” nonsense that has taken over police forces, local authorities, charities etc across the country.

Not that I in any way “supported” the odd little East German state, the DDR, at the time when I saw it (for a couple of days only) in 1988. It had its points (like Cuba) but (also like Cuba) not many…

I recall being driven across the East-West German frontier, in the very south of the DDR, on a sunny afternoon in 1988. A little-used crossing-point.

Border guards, some with automatic weapons. A careful document-check.

The car was almost dismantled, the seats taken out, other areas examined minutely, and a little wheeled mirror used to look under the vehicle (as they used to do at checkpoints in Northern Ireland in the 1970s). Then the seats etc were expertly put back and screwed down, all items previously removed put back into the car, and off we drove. I think that it took an hour or so.

There was not even one other car crossing. There was then a kind of no-man’s land (I think still officially DDR territory), complete with (on both sides) strips of raked sand, high razor wire and, in the middle distance, a huge concrete watch-tower akin to a water-tower or airfield control-tower, from which we were no doubt being scrutinized through powerful binoculars or telescopes. Three barriers in all, I think. Then just open country for a little while.

The West German side was less formal, one man in a little sentry box.

I read that, now that the border is no more, that once-mined and guarded strip is an important conservation zone for animals and birds, a kind of nature reserve. Funny how things change.

A report about a spy case involving the British Embassy in Berlin.

According to the journalist who wrote that report, one Emily Pennink [https://uk.linkedin.com/in/emily-pennink-33aa6527],

After the Cold War officially ended in 1991, hopes of a warmer co-existence with Russia were gradually snuffed out, culminating in the invasion of Ukraine this year – the first war in Europe since the Second World War.”]

[Evening Standard].

What?! “...the first war in Europe since the Second World War“? What was the Yugoslavian conflict of the 1990s, then? A little localized disagreement? What about the bloody American bombings of Serbia? What were they? Not a war? Just a “police action“, as the Russians now say of Ukraine?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_Wars; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_bombing_of_Yugoslavia; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_bombing_of_Yugoslavia#Aftermath.

Just as MPs are now generally of very poor quality, so are many who scribble in the newspapers. I should not like to be accused of “bias” by pointing out that many such persons are called Justin, Toby, Allegra or, indeed, Emily, but the fact remains, leaving aside their often-twee names, that many are rather ignorant and also, not infrequently, only semi-literate, despite all having gone to some university or other, and/or having diplomas in journalism.

That journalist might like to note that the coldness that has developed between Russia and the West in the past 20 years has been created, mainly, by both NATO expansionism and, also, the sheer exploitation of Russia by Western interests (and/or Jews) during the 1990s Yeltsin period— and since then as well.

Incidentally, that journalist, Emily Pennink, is no recent graduate, or trainee; she has been a journalist for some 21 years.

I had better not be too rude about her Evening Standard report— she is a black belt —3rd Dan— in karate!

Ah…just looked at her Twitter output: retweeting such as the malicious Jewish “Hope not Hate” snoop organization…

So “Jack Monroe” claims that she turned up at the Grenfell Fire scene, and then was simply “waved through the police cordon” by a policeman?! That has to be not only untrue but absolutely absurdly so. Did she show her long-expired ID showing her to have been someone who once answered the telephone at some Essex fire station? As an assertion, that is not even slightly plausible.

Yet the “Bootstrap Cook” has her (usually unthinking) supporters, such as one “Jaimi Shrive”, who admits that she knows basically nothing about “Jack Monroe”/”Bootstrap Cook”, yet is willing to insult those public-spirited people such as “@AwfullyMolly”, who have exposed the apparent fakery and, frankly, “grifting” and near-fraud around the subject and by the subject:

The above individual admits that she really knows nothing about the subject in hand, but (perhaps typically of such people) that will not prevent her from having a firm opinion about it!

You would think that someone purporting to hold a quasi-professional position (looking at the Twitter profile) would not make herself look so silly, but there it is…

Just looking at her other tweets: they are silly, pointless. Not worth looking at again.

Many of the hard-core Jack Monroe zealots seem to be of the LGBTQXYZ coterie. As I said in my assessment published 6 weeks ago, few if any are “poor” or “struggling”. It’s a kind of cult.

I might not agree with everything said or done by Jamie Oliver, but I think that he means well most of the time, and he is at least a genuine chef, not someone who calls “themselves” “chef” or at least “cook“, but whose idea of edible food is a few tins of fish, beans, and fruit mixed together, or some other dog’s dinner of a “Mahashma Gandhi”.

I have to admit that I am at least tending to that view myself now.

I have to say that, apart from the thing itself, what I find disturbing is that supposedly “serious” newspapers such as the Guardian and Observer, and numerous journalists from other newspapers, TV etc, have not bothered to seek out the truth, but just accepted the contrived “legend” as genuine, on the nod. The same is true of a few MPs, such as Debbie Abrahams [Lab. Oldham East and Saddleworth https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debbie_Abrahams]

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

On this day a year ago

It makes one shudder to think what those who fought in either of the great European wars would think of society now, though not all changes have been negative, by any means; however, the destruction (presently ongoing) of European race and culture, plotted and executed by those in political power, and who should be defending Europe, overshadows all else.

Tweets and comment about “Jack Monroe”, aka the “Bootstrap Cook”

About 6 weeks ago, I blogged about the storm around “Jack Monroe”, aka “the Bootstrap Cook”, which storm had been raging on Twitter, Facebook, Tattle and elsewhere since sometime in August of this year. It continues unabated.

There now seem to be two clear groups: the supporters of “Bootstrap Cook”, most of whom seem to be politically-correct, wilfully-blind, Guardian/Observer readers, few if any of whom are in any way “poor” or “struggling”; on the other hand, there are those (many of whom are former supporters) who are critical of “Jack Monroe, accusing her of “grifting”, near-fraud if not actual fraud, as well as lying constantly about her life, her background, her history, her financial position etc. They also make the point that many of her recipes (if they are even that, as in her “soup” made from pulverized frozen beefburgers and some stock, or her “boil an egg and spread it on buttered bread”) are either not recipes at all or, equally-often, heavily-carbohydrate offerings, short on vitamins, minerals, and even calories.

Which of those two groups am I in? I started off, several years ago, vaguely noticing the “Bootstrap Cook” as something or someone more positive than not, “helping” the struggling and those penalized by the evil machinations of Iain Dunce Duncan Smith, George Osborne etc.

Over time, I have become more and more critical, as guided by the facts that have emerged. Now, I should say that I think “Jack Monroe” is someone with many personal or mental problems but who has certainly also been taking the pathetic journalists of the UK, and many others, for a ride, and making a pretty good and not very honest living from it all.

I am not a psychiatrist, so cannot fully explain why no less than 664 very silly and/or misled people (as of today) are paying Jack Monroe/Bootstrap Cook between £3.50 and £10 per month via the Patreon website; i.e. up to £6,640 a month in cash (minus Patreon fees etc), which might even be taxfree as “gifts” (not sure about that; it is a long long time since I was involved in any tax law).

In addition, some other (?) exceptionally silly people also send other, one-off donations to the alleged “grifter”/”fraudster” (who, inter alia, claims that a family of 4 can feed itself well for £20 a week by using her recipes).

In addition, Jack Monroe has 7 books in print, and is thus receiving royalties (£90,000+ in the past several years), and makes money in a number of other ways.

She has crowdfunded for an action in defamation against the —admittedly not very pleasant— MP, Lee Anderson [Con, Ashfield: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Anderson_(British_politician)], and politico/journalist Martin Daubney [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Daubney], but since the announcement of that in the msm and on Twitter in May 2022, it seems that no writ has been issued nor any pre-action correspondence received (info per Lee Anderson). It has been alleged that Jack Monroe has simply taken the money donated for the threatened libel action, and spent it. Whether that is so, I have no idea, but tend to believe it, in the absence of any proof that there is going to be an action launched (and time is shortening— only 5-6 months left, at maximum).

Tweets continue to be posted:

Exactly. Many of the “well-meaning” or bien-pensant pro-Jack Monroe tweeters (mostly though not all women) have invested emotional capital in “Bootstrap Cook”, and are therefore immune to logic or fact. They cannot admit that they have been and are being duped, and prefer to carry on paying £3.50 or £10 a month rather than face reality.

Meanwhile, the pseudo-green “activists” think that punishing the British public is the way to go. I saw a clip from, I think, Sky News this morning. One Indigo Brumelow, a plainly very thick and “silver-spoon” young woman, completely hysterical.

She strikes me as mentally-afflicted in some way. I am no medic, but maybe autistic?

Potentially dangerous, like so many of the pseudo-green “activists”. Potentially terroristic. It is a question of degree only.

Actually, all the examples given by Indigo Rumbelow (floods in South Asia, hot weather in Europe etc) have occurred not only in recent decades but a hundred years and more ago.

I bet she will be pro-immigration as well. While living in the parents’ country house, or affluent suburbia (when not in a London flatshare), well away from the results of her pathetic yet damaging “activism”.

Indigo Brumelow thinks that women were “not allowed to own anything” until the Suffragettes agitated. Completely wrong, historically. She’s an ignoramus.

Will Indigo Brumelow end up in a mental hospital? She looks like a fanatical loony, and one who seems capable of any crime.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11416061/Please-stop-shouting-Moment-despairing-Sky-News-host-tries-calm-Just-Stop-Oil-activist.html

Ah. According to the Daily Mail:

Indigo was first arrested at Cannes Lions Advertising Festival in 2019 for gate-crashing a Facebook conference and has been held by police on at least six occasions since then.

In 2020 she began digging up the lawn in front of the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government and was arrested again in Parliament Square later that year when she blocked the road.

The newspaper also says that she is based on the Gower Peninsula, in South Wales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. No doubt the family home. She is 28. No mention of any profession, job, or even study. In other words, as guessed, a silver-spoon trustafarian, like so many of the Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion idiots. Ukraine

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/nov/11/reports-of-wounded-soldiers-being-abandoned-as-russia-retreats-from-kherson-city

Were I Putin, I would arrange dictatorial powers for myself, then a. shoot most of the generals of the Russian Army; b. shoot many of the higher-ups in the GRU; c. bring up and train younger officers; d. find out where Zelensky is based and then fire a nuclear missile at his location.

Russia needs a gamechanger. What is now happening, and most of what has been happening from February onwards, has been a complete and embarrassing “shitshow”, causing huge property and infrastructure damage, huge harm to Ukrainian civilians and others, and to companion animals, and also resulting in 100,000 deaths and injuries to Russian officers and soldiers, let alone the devastating damage to Russia’s reputation in all ways.

Not that I opposed, or even now oppose, the invasion, but it was delayed pointlessly, for weeks, then carried out in a shockingly half-hearted, desultory, and almost detached manner. Shocking. As blogged before, this is not the army, or the equivalent of the (Soviet) army, that could and did take whole countries in days, among them Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan.

Putin seriously needs to get a grip, or give way to someone who can take firm control and achieve victory.

Interesting graphic

Interesting in several details, such as that 41% of Americans have never flown on a plane! I am also surprised to see that a third of American adults do not own a car.

Most telling, perhaps, is that only 62% of Americans have a household income over USD $25,000, meaning that 38% of households are struggling by on less than $25,000 a year.

When I married my first wife, a United States Federal Government employee, her own relatively modest income in 1990 was about $36,000, so an income of $25,000 in 2022, 32 years later, and for a household (that might contain two or more workers), is really what the American magazines call “hardscrabble”.

The educational levels are, as expected low, with the respondents apparently thinking that 30% of their fellow-Americans live in New York City (it’s 3%), 30% in Texas (it’s 9%) and 32% in California (it’s 12%).

An uninformed and/or ignorant population cannot support a democracy worth anything, hence the American political mess that we see unfolding, as Adlai Stevenson [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adlai_Stevenson_II] implied pretty clearly when his campaign train was in a small town during a Presidential campaign of the 1950s. A woman ran up to him, crying out, “Mr. Stevenson, you must win! Every thinking American will vote for you!“, to which Stevenson drily and prophetically replied, “Not enough, Madam; I need a majority“…

I rather dread the sort of elected dictatorship that Jewish-lobby puppet Starmer might head, containing such as would-be dictator Yvette Cooper (expenses cheat, fraud, and another Labour Friends of Israel member), but Isabel Oakeshott is right— what is the point of the Conservative Party now? And look at the Cabinet! A real collection of deadheads.

The only thing that the Con Party can now say is “we are not Labour“. That might save their bacon to a (very) limited extent, but only to such a small extent.

As to that “elected dictatorship” of Labour, we shall just have to face it down any way we can.

In the end, Russia will either prevail in the conflict or become, yet again, and as in the 1990s, just a huge area in which exploitative Jews and others make money at the expense of the Russian people and the Russian (and European) future.

Once you start to slide down the slope of socio-political and cultural madness, it is uncertain whether there is a lowest point.

See: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2018/11/15/when-reality-becomes-subjective/.

Chris Bryant

Bryant is indeed a massive hypocrite, as befits a failed C. of E. clergyman.

Also, former London manager for the very sinister Common Purpose organization [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Purpose_UK], which has been responsible for infiltrating so many inferior candidates into powerful administrative positions, and so undermining good administration, government, and public confidence.

A member of Labour Friends of Israel, very tied-up with the Jewish lobby, e.g. on Twitter (the Jews on Twitter always support him).

Bryant claimed over £92,000 in expenses over the five years leading up to the 2009 scandal over MPs’ expenses.[22] During that time he flipped his second-home expenses twice. He claimed mortgage interest expenses that started at £7,800 per year before rising (after flipping) to £12,000 per year. He also claimed £6,400 in stamp duty and other fees on his most recent purchase, and £6,000 per year in service charges.[23]” [Wikipedia]

(just some of what Bryant has tucked away over the years…).

In December 2020, Bryant became engaged in a row with the Commons speaker, Lindsay Hoyle. The disturbance started with Bryant heckling the Prime Minister while standing near to a door. The Speaker informed Bryant that social distancing rules meant he needed to move and he then instructed Bryant to sit in one of the seats intended for use by MPs. Some of those present thought that Bryant then uttered an offensive expletive back to the Speaker although Bryant denied this. Bryant then exited the chamber of the Commons while the Speaker called for him. Some moments after the Speaker had denounced Bryant’s “disgraceful behaviour”, Bryant returned to the chamber to engage in what appeared to be a heated discussion with the speaker. Hoyle said: “Mr Bryant, I think we need to have this conversation later” and Bryant left the chamber.”

[Wikipedia]

He was ridiculed by the press in 2003 when he posted a picture of himself wearing only underpants on a gay dating site, Gaydar.[43] Bryant later reflected upon the affair, saying, “It was a wound but it’s a rather charming scar now.” [Wikipedia].

So polluted is the House of Commons that this is the grubby person the MPs voted in as Chairman of the Standards Committee!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Bryant

How can Parliament be cleansed? Here is one idea:

Little Matt Hancock

For once, I agree with Chris Bryant. Hancock has basically abandoned his position as MP, abandoned his constituents, and degraded his status as MP for one reason only— to make money. Newspapers are reporting that his fee for appearing on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here is around £350,000, about 10 years pay for the average person, and far more than that for the majority of British people. The stint in the contrived “jungle” will last, at most, one month, apparently.

As reported on the blog yesterday, Hancock is also signed up for the TV show SAS: Who Dares Wins; fee undisclosed. Apparently, the particular show will be called Celebrity SAS: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11378399/Matt-Hancock-angers-SAS-bosses-signs-Im-Celeb-stint-rival-show.html.

Hancock may need the money, especially if he fails to recover the Conservative whip by the time of the next general election. I think that it is quite likely that he will not be the Conservative candidate at West Suffolk, in which case he loses not only the £84,000 p.a. salary as MP, but all those lovely expenses, including the costs of his London second home.

Once Hancock has done the two TV shows, I cannot see him morphing into a mass media celebrity on a continuing basis; he just does not have much of a personality, still less an attractive or pleasing one.

My assessment of Hancock, from 2019: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/09/09/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-matt-hancock-story/.

Abandon support for the corrupt dictatorship of the Jew Zelensky in Kiev, restore economic and cultural links with Russia, and construct a pipeline to bring Russian gas at near-cost price to the UK, to warm British homes and to fuel British industry.

Britain 2022

Another example of how the UK is sliding down rather quickly now.

An odd minor aspect is that the interviewee seems to be white European, yet speaks in a kind of semi-Jamaican patois.

What is the point in throwing more money at “Defence” when Britain’s armed forces cannot and indeed will not defend the people of Britain against invasion by black/brown hordes who are at best contemptuous of us (and often hostile and/or criminal)?

As for “supporting” Ukraine, forget it. We should cut off all money and arms being supplied to the Kiev regime, because a. it is not our fight (we as a nation have nothing to do with it); b. only with Russian trade and other links can the UK make something out of Brexit; c. the Russians can supply to us the energy we need to keep Britain warm and working.

I have the solution…

…and while the migration-invasion continues, and begins to really be noticed by the public, Indian supposed “clever boy” and money-juggler Sunak is going off to talk nonsense with other useless “leaders” at Cairo. You really could not make it up.

As I predicted on the blog quite a while ago, Russia would have to understand (and seemingly now has worked out) that it needs to unbalance the Kiev regime by oblique warfare, rather than simply by battlefield attrition.

Even previously, the full story of our national suicide was not told, because the narrative spun only included mothers born in other countries, not grandmothers etc. The full extent of the “replacement” was never told.

Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan. Only the most extreme responses can stop it happening now.

Little Matt Hancock

Little Matt Hancock, the would-be dictator of the 2020-2021 “panicdemic”, has finally given up serious politics:

Quite. It will be recalled that, last week, Hancock was in the front row at Downing Street, obsequiously clapping Indian “clever boy” and money-juggler Sunak, as the latter arrived. Sunak “blanked” Hancock, not looking at him, not shaking his hand and, most tellingly, not later offering Hancock a job.

Hancock has therefore turned to Plan B, having no doubt seen Michael Portillo become far more famous (arguably) and certainly better liked, as well as better paid, after Portillo gave up front-line politics to ride on trains around the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and beyond, giving out historical and socio-political snippets.

That restored Portillo’s reputation and public popularity. Few now even remember the unpleasant and bombastic minister and then Cabinet minister under Thatcher and Major; even fewer remember the 1990s sex scandal that revealed some of his various escapades (including affairs with both men and women, one of which was a Spanish male ballet dancer).

Portillo has become a popular TV presenter. Even I quite like his railway excursion shows.

As to Hancock, he has obviously accepted that his main political career is over. True, Nadine Dorries went on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and was later appointed to Cabinet, though only many years later, under Johnson (perhaps literally) and after having lost the Conservative whip for a while (under Cameron-Levita). I read today that Hancock has now also lost the whip, and so sits in the Commons as an Independent MP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Hancock#I’m_a_Celebrity…_Get_Me_Out_of_Here!.

I do not think that Hancock expects to return to Cabinet or even Government, and it may be that he anticipates losing his seat in a general election cull of Conservative Party MPs, though Hancock’s constituency, West Suffolk, is (so far) a safe Con seat: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Suffolk_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2010s.

If Hancock does not regain the Conservative whip before the next general election, then he is toast, politically. Perhaps Sunak will dispose of him that way.

Incidentally, I blogged about Hancock over three years ago: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/09/09/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-matt-hancock-story/.

Finally, I sincerely hope that the “staff” on SAS: Who Dares Wins give Hancock a thorough “beasting”. I have never watched that show, but I might make an exception to see Hancock suffering a bit.

That Cellan-Jones person has often expressed anti-national views. I suspect that he may be part-Jew, though am not sure of that.

Another suspicious person, in my view: Dr. Julia Grace Patterson, who qualified as a doctor, worked for maybe a year in a hospital, then dropped out and has of late (for the past few years) been selling (useless) cloth facemasks online, and tweeting about the NHS etc.

The System will use any method, including emotional blackmail, to release the black/brown migrant-invaders into our streets and homes.

The System wants to destroy every decent thing about England, and to flood the countryside with blacks etc.

How long will it be before a combined race/culture war breaks out in the UK and across Europe?

“Labour” is no better than the fake “Conservatives”, maybe worse in fact, but if the Con Party can be destroyed at the next general election, the Labour elected dictatorship that may follow may itself, by its extremism and possibly very large Commons majority, trigger a real pushback.
