From the newspapers

“Diversity” (blah, blah)…

As some comments say, the defendant will in fact be out in 10 months, and quite likely earlier. The sentence is not really the “nearly two years” of the Daily Mail‘s “reporting”.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11646993/Recruit-numbers-Armed-Forces-fall-30-amid-warning-supporting-Ukraine-makes-weaker.html

Recruit numbers in the UK’s armed forces fall by 30% amid warning that supporting Ukraine in Russia war makes us weaker.

The figures, which indicate Britain’s Armed forces are shrinking at a rate, have emerged after the head of the Army, General Sir Patrick Sanders, warned the country was ‘weaker’ after donating so much equipment to Ukraine.

[Daily Mail].

That is before you factor-in the extra effect of having political nincompoops at the head of affairs, people such as Ben Wallace and, before him, Gavin Williamson: see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/05/02/deadhead-mps-an-occasional-series-the-gavin-williamson-story/

While he welcomed the equipment being put to good use to end Russia’s illegal occupation of Ukraine, General Sir Patrick said it could not be denied that the UK’s combat effectiveness would be compromised.

The MOD is coming under increasing pressure to reconsider this commitment due to the conflict in Ukraine and the heightened security threat to the UK posed by Russia, Iran and China.”

[Daily Mail].

Take away Zelensky’s ricebowl.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jan/17/uk-foreign-secretary-defends-weapons-supply-to-ukraine

The UK foreign secretary has justified the supply of Challenger tanks to Ukraine, saying it was designed to bring the war to a quick conclusion and there was a moral imperative to end the war soon due to the casualties and cost.

This war has been dragging on for a long time already. And now is the time to bring it to a conclusion,” James Cleverly told a Washington thinktank…”

[The Guardian]

Talk of “political nincompoops“… Does James Cleverly really believe that any war against Russia can be brought “to a conclusion“, let alone “a quick conclusion“, with Russia, in effect, losing?

I suppose that that sort of view, based on total ignorance, is what you get when your Foreign Secretary is a half-caste with a “degree” in “Hospitality Management”…

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11644009/Furious-tenant-58-smashed-Volkswagen-left-parking-space.html

A furious tenant smashed up a car he found left in his parking space, despite not using the bay himself for 12 years

Gavin Glover, 58, has neither a car nor a driving licence, but descended into a fit of ‘parking lot rage’ when the Volkswagen Polo was parked in a space allocated to him as part of his lease on a flat.

[Daily Mail]

There are so many idiots of that sort around, and so many people, also, who “presume too much”.

…and, once again, we see that a “Jack Monroe” fan is, again, a lady of a certain age, not (it seems) either “poor” or “struggling”, and (again) willing to tweet loudly without knowing basic facts.

Tweeter “@gillianography”, another typical “Jack Monroe” fan: not “poor“, not “struggling” (and almost certainly a reader of the Guardian), as well as, in her case, (and as she herself says) “neurodivergent nerd“, “brand strategist“, “copywriter“, and supporter of LGBTQXYZ etc.

As blogged previously, not only the “poor” and “struggling” but also the standard “working classes” of yore seem to be entirely absent from the ranks of the “Jack Monroe” supporters, as they sit reading their copies of the Guardian in, as it might be, the Waitrose cafe.

What is the point of…”Jack Monroe”?

There used to be a BBC Radio 4 series called something like What is the Point of…? Ah, here it is…seems to be still running: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01lt45k. Various things, from universities to Formula 1, were, perhaps still are, examined with a view to their utility.

I ask, “What is the point of Jack Monroe?” Not as an individual, but as a minor socio-political phenomenon.

The only “point” I can see for “Jack Monroe”, in that sense, is that nearly a decade ago, she raised the fact that many many people were facing hardship unprecedented since, arguende, the 1940s. So far so good. I was still quite favourable to her, or at least neutral, months or years ago: see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2022/09/30/diary-blog-30-september-2022-including-an-assessment-of-jack-monroe-aka-the-bootstrap-cook/.

In the well-known saying, “when the facts change, so do my opinions” [not the exact words of J.M. Keynes].

Leaving aside the “alleged” fraud and/or “grifting”, what is or has “Jack Monroe” really done to either reduce “poverty” (however defined), or to make it more bearable for “the poor” (however defined)? In my view, not much, if anything.

In my opinion, anyone can say “buy the cheapest food lines from [any supermarket]”, or (such as) “make tuna salad using canned tuna in oil, rather than buying olive oil separately” (I made that tip up myself…maybe I could be “Bootstrap Cook (2)”!).

As for the food produced by “Jack Monroe”, the less said the better, from what I have seen, though some might be acceptable. Many have said, though, that her costings are largely fictional. Again, leaving that aside, does that really help the “poor and struggling”?

Critics (including me) have made the point that to say, “I can feed a family of four for a week on £20” effectively says, by implied —if unintended— subtext, “State benefits are more than adequate“. It may be that four people could live, albeit on the most basic level, on only £20 a week, but food is of course only one expense of that hypothetical family. Heat, communications, water and electricity bills, clothing, transport. Etc.

Looking at how “Jack Monroe” has simply ignored inconvenient facts (such as her £20 shop not including items already purchased and stored), the truth is that she is just not very good at working out anything. Her various food recipes and plans are worthless, really.

As for the (non-existent) “Vimes Boots Index” of inflation, she not only has not produced it but, actually, is not capable of producing it (not with any accuracy, though she may eventually cobble something together in order to fool her hardcore Twitter fans).

Is advice such as “rinse sauce off cheap tinned pasta, replace sauce with something else, then serve” really useful? To anyone? The same goes for “take a tin of sardines, mix it up with rice, or pasta, and curry powder; heat and serve” (my abbreviated versions).

In a Britain where instant fake “celebrity” can make completely ridiculous people famous and wealthy, the “brand” of “Jack Monroe” (as supposed “single mother on State benefits, saving herself and others by clever budgeting and cooking“) gained some resonance around 2012-2013, but now that people know that she has not been “poor” for many years (and possibly never was), the “brand” is surely worthless?

I really cannot now see much point to “Jack Monroe” (the “brand”, that is), and I think that it is telling that, apart from a few idiotic journalists and (possibly) Nigella Lawson, most of the continuing fans of “Jack Monroe” seem to be people with mental problems.

Northstowe

All so that developers and bureaucrats can create “boxes for people”, or “hutches” for urban overflow. Horrible.

See also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstowe; and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bloor.

[houses built by Bloor Homes at “Northstowe”. Could the architect —if any—and builders have made them any uglier? They look more like buildings in some decayed area of local council housing. Where is the space for Nature? Who would actually want to live there?]

Until I am convinced otherwise, I remain of the view that there is some secret or semi-secret plan to move the centre of gravity of England from the London area to a belt broadly stretching from Oxford to Cambridge.

I first became interested in this when on the road rather a lot in the years 2002-2007, going to county courts all over the place. I noticed the amount of roadbuilding and road improvement going on in that Oxford-Cambridge belt north of southern England but south of the Midlands.

I later discovered that railway links were also being created or upgraded: see, eg, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varsity_Line [“There are funded plans for the entire line to be re-established by the “mid 2020s”, partly on a new route and under a new name  – East West Rail” —Wikipedia].

Other transport links are also in progress: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridgeshire_Guided_Busway.

There may be a plan, perhaps secret, to create an urbanized belt, or initially a linked series of urbanizations, as a fallback position should London and the southeast suffer damage through war or natural disasters.

Milton Keynes is halfway between Oxford and Cambridge, and has been greatly expanded in recent decades: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_Keynes. I can remember when it was little more than a building site; that was in 1977. I hardly recognized it when staying in the city for a couple of days in 2007 (for a case at Milton Keynes County Court, something that did not exist in 1977 or even, as far as I know, 1987; I first visited the Court in 2002).

Guess who/what is the local councillor (with responsibility for planning the “Northstowe” area)?

[Tumi Hawkins: “LibDem District Councillor for Caldecote Ward, Cabinet Member for Planning at @SouthCambs. Chartered Engineer, Businesswoman. Jazzercise fanatic. Drummer”]

Hawkins?

A personification of the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalergi_Plan; http://adam.curry.com/art/1543753587_mkXBrvrY.html].

I then became a property developer and investor, buying, selling and building/renovating property in Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. I then moved on to ecommerce, developing our own range of dog skin care products selling on our website and on sites like amazon and ebay.” [Councillor Tumi Hawkins].

Take a look at the comments underneath her biography, comments by local people.

She seems to be unwilling to address the issues raised by local (English) people:

Jack Monroe

This is what happens in (other) frauds such as Ponzi schemes. Any “investor” who makes a loud-enough noise is paid back, but most either do not ask for the money taken from them to be repaid, or the repayment demands are not loud enough.

“Jack Monroe” usually does this— either ignores questions and criticism, and tweets irrelevant rubbish, or snarls, threatening critics with Jew lawyers or “flying monkeys” (mentally-disturbed fans), or —in extremis— makes up a story of how she is suffering from an attack of a physical or mental illness. Who knows? She may actually half-believe that the illnesses are real; a psychosomatic reaction.

One refund out of (presently) 635 utter mugs on Patreon, who are each sending “Jack Monroe” between £3.50 and £44 every month, and not forgetting the unknown number previously cheated by “Jack Monroe”, and who are now no longer sending her money; at one time there were 800 “patrons” —incredibly— largely because the Jewish TV cook, Nigella Lawson, helped to promote the whole “Bootstrap Cook” image. Nigella Lawson’s commendation of “Jack Monroe” is still on the front cover of the latest (and ludicrous) “Jack Monroe” book, Thrifty Kitchen.

An obscure company has handed more than £340,000 to three senior Labour figures.

Analysis of political funding has revealed that MPM Connect Ltd has been the third-biggest donor to MPs since the general election.

It has given £183,317 to shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper, £100,000 to former South Yorkshire mayor Dan Jarvis and £60,000 to health spokesman Wes Streeting.

Simon Pegg. Actor, apparently. I had not heard of him and, looking at him, have never seen him on TV either. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Pegg.

Not that I disagree with him about Sunak’s “study maths until age 18” nonsense. The most important thing in that regard is to drill very basic maths (multiplication, subtraction, division) into pupils aged 7 or so. I constantly meet young and not so young cashiers at Waitrose who literally cannot work out how many lottery tickets are necessary for X-number of lines at Y-number per ticket. Some have to use a calculator!

Of course, “@TheFreds” are quite right: changing the colour of the deck chairs on the Titanic changes nothing but the scenery.

More lies from “Jack Monroe”

Serious pathological/psychological condition, I think.

I posed the question weeks, and I think even months, ago as to whether “Jack Monroe” sometimes makes up things and rolls out a pack of lies almost daring people to accuse her of lying, as in (to take a few examples only) that she was “on the game” (prostitution) in Essex (by reason of impecuniosity), that she attended the Grenfell Tower fire (60+ miles from where she lives), was “waved through the police cordon” (oh yes, the police would really allow a stray interfering rubbernecker to go through…) and even had plans of the building (why would she? How could she?).

The “Bootstrap Cook” said that she was so poor that she had to sell her small son’s toy dinosaur, that she had to take out lightbulbs in order not to waste electricity, and that she had to boil soap to make shower gel (which does not even stack up logically, when 90p shower gel lasts for 1-3 weeks with daily use, and when boiling soap costs money in itself; and why not just use the soap instead of trying to make gel out of it?). Ludicrous.

On several occasions, I have been certain in my own mind that her lies must amount to her thinking “surely the sad bastards won’t buy this one?!“, and then they (those who defend her to the marrow) do buy whatever absolute crap she comes out with at any given moment; while also (631 utter mugs as of today) each sending her between £3.50 and £44 a month!

In other words, at times she is certainly, in the well-known phrase, “having a laugh”, a laugh at the expense of the mugs subsidizing her and the others promoting her, the latter including Nigella Lawson, at least a couple of Labour MPs, and of course the media rats from the Guardian, Observer, BBC and Channel 4.

I think that “Jack Monroe” lies mainly because she enjoys inventing a fake or 90% fake narrative, and because she enjoys making absolute mugs out of those who not only defend her as a supposed —if risible— “champion of the poor” but who also send money to her!

She herself has said recently that her basic lifestyle, inc. rent, utilities, food, adds up to about £4,000 a month. The 631 utter mugs subsidizing her are anyway sending more than that (I am guessing about £6,000 but it may be more) each month.

I have no idea who that particular mug is, nor whether his/her problem is a mental illness or just plain everyday stupidity, but imagine taking money off someone like that on the false promise/threat that Con Party MP, Lee Anderson, was going to be sued for stating, entirely truthfully, something along the lines of the assertion that “Jack Monroe” is basically a fraud (at very least, a “grifter”) “living off the backs of the poor“, which is exactly what she is and does.

It is obvious that “Jack Monroe” is not going to sue Lee Anderson and/or Martin Daubney, though she has hinted at “things going on behind the scenes etc”.

Rubbish. Technically, she has 3-4 months left before the one-year limitation applies, but Lee Anderson has apparently not even received any letter before action.

It’s another “Jack Monroe” lie, in other words.

I think that “Jack Monroe” has one main intent, which is to be the centre of attention. Nothing else. I believe, rightly or wrongly, that even the money she gets from mugs etc. is very secondary to that central narcissism.

Incidentally, the “media folk” are still promoting her— there are a couple of articles even today in the Metro newspaper, giving “tips” and a recipe, and no mention of the scandal(s).

[Ava Gardner in Pandora and the Flying Dutchman]

Strange to see: I was just reading about Ava Gardner [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ava_Gardner] and saw that she died in 1990, aged 67, at at her home in Ennismore Gardens, Kensington (London), near Kensington Gardens, where she had lived since 1968. I never knew. Had I thought of it at all, I probably would have assumed that she lived in either California or New York City.

I have only been to that exact place once, I think; in the very early 1980s, with someone escorting the then Metropolitan of Kiev (a kind of Russian Orthodox archbishop, the second-highest prelate of that church) who was then visiting London. The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition is at the end of a kind of hidden-away cul de sac there. We dropped him there, and were invited in (no-one else was around, as far as I can recall). The Metropolitan kindly gave me a bottle of Moskovskaya vodka.

In other words, only 1 person out of every 235 is on the side of “Jack Monroe” and her tweet.

Most supporters of the “Bootstrap Cook” effectively say, on the larger scale, “let’s bin the Tories. Once ‘Labour’ are in government, everything will be fine, or start to be fine“…

Does anyone with any sense actually believe that? The migration-invasion (both across the Channel and otherwise) will continue unchanged in numbers, and Rachel Reeves and her fellow Labour Friends of Israel MPs will be even harder on the unemployed, disabled etc than the fake “Conservatives” have been— she said so expressly.

In a binary political system, and one where both main System parties are really almost identical, you cannot change things very much by squashing one party at some election or other, because the other one is thereby strengthened, and the “Deep State” policies continue largely unchanged.

That Tom Doorley person is an Irish restaurant critic, who has been oddly biased in favour of the “Bootstrap Cook” for some time; see also https://www.tomdoorley.com/about.

Very true, though I doubt an accurate quotation. Or am I just too nice? I see various journalists tweeting that.

So much for people needing a degree. She did not have one, so (like Iain Dunce Duncan Smith and others), she just pretended to have one: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebekah_Brooks#Early_life.

Ha. Well, there it is. For once I have to agree with “The Harry Formerly Known as Prince”!

Saturday quiz

Well, this week brings another victory over political journalist John Rentoul, trumping his 4/10 with my 7/10. I did not know the answers to questions 6 and 10, and I just could not recall the answer to question 1 even though I “really” knew it.

The “Jack Monroe” juggernaut rolls on

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jan/07/jack-monroe-interview

I suspect that some hurried rewriting had to be done by the Guardian’s scribbler.

That Guardian piece was evidently planned to be part of the launch of Thrifty Kitchen, the latest book by “Jack Monroe” (and at the end has a link via which enables any “mug” unaware of the full “dodginess” of the book and its authoress to buy a copy).

The interviewer mentions “Jack Monroe’s” Patreon “grift” but not the crowdfunder launched by “Jack Monroe”, ostensibly to sue the MP for Ashfield, Lee Anderson, the proceeds of which have gone straight into the bank account of the “Bootstrap Cook”. Certainly no legal action has been launched, not even a “letter before action”, and Ms. Monroe’s favoured solicitor, Israel-based Mark Lewis, has not emerged from his kennel since the Twitterstorm etc around “Jack Monroe” gained strength several months ago.

That Guardian piece gives the impression of sitting uncertainly on the fence after the more recent revelations, neither wholeheartedly endorsing the woman and her book (the recipes from which seem to have been lifted from a number of different Internet sites such as BBC Food), nor making an all-out hatchet attack on her. More the former than the latter, arguably.

The interviewer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Hattenstone.

The “Bootstrap Cook” is not alone in wanting to join the world of fake “celebrity” while still pretending to “stick up for the poor”. Look at the pseudo-revolutionary and pseudo-Marxist poseur, Owen Jones, who has made a career out of being a kind of “licensed Bolshevik” while still doing fashion shoots for glossy magazines on occasion, attending receptions with the “rich and famous”, and making a rather large income in various ways.

Another? What about Chuka Umunna, the half-caste one-time “Labour” MP, who whined about not being allowed into the VIP area of some louche nightclub?

All fakes.

Notes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuka_Umunna; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Jones; https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/01/04/a-brief-word-about-owen-jones/.

Of course. “Jack Monroe” might like to ask advice on that from her one-time solicitor, Israel-based Jew-Zionist Mark Lewis, who admitted or claimed a few years ago at the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal (that found him guilty on several charges) that at times he did not know what he was doing because his mind was affected by prescription drugs (etc).

[Update, same day: “Jack Monroe” has swiftly deleted her tweet threatening (making empty threats of) “libel” action].

“Jack Monroe” once again snarling at people and threatening “libel” action. Ha ha!

I should imagine that her lawyer (if any) is well aware that a defamation action, though it has to be be brought within one year, should all the same be brought as expeditiously as possible within that 1-year window. In the case of Lee Anderson and Martin Daubney, the alleged “libel” (in fact the totally true assertion that “Jack Monroe” has made a living off the backs of the genuinely poor) occurred in early May or even April 2022. No libel case will be brought by the “grifter” against Lee Anderson now, in my opinion. Let’s see.

As for stray tweeters or, indeed, me, “Jack Monroe” will be unable to bring legal action successfully (certainly not against me) for a number of reasons, including the fact that I would have a number of arguable defences (including what the English law now terms “Truth”). Also, having no capital and a very low income now, even a successful libel action against me would leave the claimant about £500,000 out of pocket; in reality, no claim could even be launched against me, and I apprehend that the same would be true of many tweeters critical of “Jack Monroe”.

That would tend to explain, if true, where much of the money “earned” by “Jack Monroe” has gone…

Like many liars, “Jack Monroe” ties herself in entangled knots of her own fabrication.

So tweeter “@JanetAnscombe” thinks that “Jack Monroe” cheats her Patreon donors because her life was or is “in chaos“? “Jack Monroe” never seems to fail to take the money, or to set up ways of taking more. Well-organized in that sense, anyway.

Opinions are OK, but should be based on evidence…

I note that, like many “Jack Monroe” fans, “@JanetAnscombe” is (judging from her photo) retired, seems to live comfortably (in Tenerife), and according to her Twitter profile, is “Doctor, ancient historian, “leftie elitist”, mother of chickens, hermit-ish, trauma & neurobiology wonk, Celt, European, MBE.” (and a facemask zealot as well).

So not exactly “poor” or “working class“. Again.

As blogged previously, I have not myself seen even one present “Jack Monroe” fan who is actually poor, or “working class”, or for that matter from any ethnic minority; as I opined yesterday, few of the blacks, browns, Chinese etc would eat the swill that the “Bootstrap Cook” makes or pretends to make.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that anyone still defending “Jack Monroe” should not be listened to on any subject…

Ha ha! “@sitebadger”, another “Jack Monroe” defender. Once again, not poor, not someone who claims to have been: “Environmental Manager / planning compliance. BA(Hons) Landscape Design. MSc Conservation Management.”

Rhetorical questions: Where are the poor? Where are the “working class”?

…and of course, another one who “stands with Ukraine” (on Twitter), and is almost certainly a facemask fanatic, like most of the rest.

More “Jack Monroe” lies, in other words.

Mike Stuchbery (notorious Twitter “grifter”) and Roanna Carleton-Taylor (former “antifa” cheerleader who is now keeping very quiet…) claimed, a few years ago, that they were going to sue “Tommy Robinson”. Raised ~£12,000 for that ostensible purpose. No legal action ensued. I wonder what happened to the money of the 700+ mugs who donated?

Exactly, and the tweeted typo (?), “cause celeb“, is actually —and ironically— more accurate than the correct “cause celebre“.

Indeed. In fact, she has had a good run, bearing in mind the easily-disprovable lies, at times reaching heights of absurdity only achieved by Monty Python, The Goodies, The Good Life, or maybe The Goon Show.

Next? Maybe “Jack Monroe” will turn and turn about, and become a pseudo”Conservative” social commentator with a column in the Daily Mail. Hard to see, but in the madness of the UK in 2023, not actually impossible.

“Jack Monroe” has been mocking her mug donors for years, but usually only in private. Now she does it openly, “telling the truth to shame the Devil” (?).

Still, as of today, no less than 624 utter mugs are still signed up with Patreon to send her between £3.50 and £44 every month! Hard to believe how stupid people can be.

At last! A “poor” or “working class” “Jack Monroe” fan!

Oh no, wait…— “Director: @Air_Cover_PR | #HR PR | ‘James Staunton is a PR faster than Muhammad Ali’ –@guardian. Once part of @InstinctifPtnrs, @wriglesworth and @PwC_UK“…

The absurdity becomes surrealistic…

I suppose that, were Katie Hopkins still scribbling for the Daily Mail, she would be wondering aloud in print how much of the £324,000 she had to pay “Jack Monroe” after the libel action (£24,000 to “Jack Monroe” herself as an award, £300,000 for the legal costs of “Jack Monroe”) went up the nose or down the throat of the “Bootstrap Cook”.

More seriously, I cannot see that “Jack Monroe” offers anything much to the truly poor or struggling. She has some way to go, however, before she reaches the rock-bottom uselessness of other “one-trick-ponies” such as the crazed feminist trustafarian, Caroline Criado-Perez [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caroline_Criado_Perez].

As blogged, most of the supporters of “Jack Monroe” are middle-aged if not elderly. Not sure why. Not all aged lesbians, either. Men of 60+ as well. Why? I do not know; and, as already said, I have yet to see anyone under 40, let alone under 30, supporting her; also, no non-whites (are they too practical when short of cash?). A conundrum.

Just look at that Adrian Hilton idiot! Doesn’t know his **** from his elbow, yet purports to teach at university level [“Adrian Hilton is a conservative academic, theologian, author and educationalist. Barclays bastards

I have just seen an online ad for Barclays Bank. An adviser (black) talks to a young couple (woman white, man black). A typical example of the racemixing propaganda now being pushed out ever-more blatantly. Part of the conspiracy around the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan: http://adam.curry.com/art/1543753587_mkXBrvrY.html; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalergi_Plan; https://ianrobertmillard.org/2018/12/10/tv-ads-and-soaps-are-the-propaganda-preferred-by-the-system-in-the-uk/.

What is especially interesting and telling about those “normalizing of racemixing” ads (and TV dramas,” and “soaps” etc) is that the actual black population of the UK is “only” about 5% of the whole (non-whites of all types comprise about 20% of the whole population now), yet almost every TV ad, online ad now has at least one actual black in it.

Stretford and Urmston by-election

I usually assess by-elections prior to polling, but missed this one.

A safe Labour seat since its creation for the 1997 General Election, Stretford and Urmston has never come close to being captured by the Conservative Party.

This is a “machine Labour” constituency. The by-election was caused by the former MP, Kate Green, half-Jewish and (I think) a member of Labour Friends of Israel, stepping down in order to be able to take up the role of Deputy Mayor of Manchester. The present Deputy Mayor is Beverly Hughes, who also preceded Kate Green as MP for Stretford and Urmston.

Both of those Deputy Mayor appointments were nominations by Andy Burnham, also of course a former Labour MP and still a possible future Labour Party leader: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverley_Hughes; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Green; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Burnham.

The 2022 by-election saw Labour at its highest in the constituency, at 69.6% (lowest was 48.6%, in 2010).

The highest Conservative Party vote in the constituency was in 1997 (30.5%), the lowest in yesterday’s by-election (15.9%).

The Labour vote has been above 60% in the last three elections in the seat: 2022, 2019, 2017.

Before yesterday’s by-election, the Conservative vote has been between 27% and (about) 30% since the creation of the constituency in 1997.

Conclusion as to numbers: the Labour vote has somewhat increased, but the Conservative vote has almost halved since 2019. The former Conservative Party voters have mostly abstained, but with some voting elsewhere.

The numbers tell the story: in 2019, just over 50,000 voters voted, as against about 18,400 in the by-election, but at the 2019 General Election, 13,778 voters voted Con, as against only 2,922 in yesterday’s by-election, a far steeper fall. In other words, former Con voters have voted with their feet.

The LibDems and (other?) minor party candidates are not worth discussing; Reform UK yesterday got exactly the same as Brexit Party managed in 2019— 3.5%. The same voters? Underwhelming.

As for the new MP, it is one Andrew Western, another product of the Labour Party machine, and office-holder in local politics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Western.

What does this tell us about overall trends? In my view, that Labour, though not exciting, is consolidating its core vote. Also, that the Conservative Party is not at all enthusing even those who voted for it previously, not only in 2019 but even in elections prior to that. Also, that the LibDems are pretty much dead in the water in much of the country. Also, that Reform UK is obviously not going to get anywhere.

Unexpected. I had not thought that Woollyhead Trussbanger (Kwarteng) was a cocaine abuser, though other former and existing Con ministers and MPs certainly have been and probably still are, that little pro-Jew bastard Gove for one. As for Liz Truss, thinking about her erratic behaviour, maybe.

Yet, in the old phrase, “there’s one born every minute“— and, as of today, no less than 643 mugs are signed up on Patreon to give “Jack Monroe” between £3.50 and £44 each month. That’s two more than a couple of days ago.

Don’t forget the Jews or, more accurately, the Jewish/Zionist lobby.

Corbyn, as I always blogged, was a poorly-educated, not hugely-intelligent person, with a few simple political thought-formulae (“fight fascism“, “!No Pasaran!“, “Cable Street” etc) in his head. He was, however, sincere and honest according to his lights, and anti-Zionist if not (unfortunately) totally anti-Jewish lobby (he often paid lip-service to the “holocaust” propaganda, including the absurd “gas chambers” farrago).

Corbyn also espoused policies (if you can even call them that) such as supporting the migration-invasion across the Channel, mass immigration generally, “and the supposed “rights” of the predatory Irish “tinker”/”traveller” nuisances, and even “Roma” thieves and scavengers. Most British people stood opposed to such nonsense.

The Jew-Zionist lobby desperately and ruthlessly attacked Corbyn from day 1 of his leadership, and (with their influence over TV, radio and newspapers), turned public opinion even more against Corbyn.

The malicious “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”] fake charity actually boasted about having got rid of Corbyn (and, incidentally, wealthy Jews have just given the “CAA” criminals another £600,000 with which to continue their trolling, their suborning of elected and appointed officials, and their propaganda, as well as their fabrication of contrived “criminal cases” against people).

Keir Starmer, a member of Labour Friends of Israel (as are all his Shadow Cabinet), and married to a Jewish woman (with children being brought up as if full-Jew), is basically similar to Blair in policy terms, though without the easy charisma; he lies less convincingly, too, preferring to avoid and evade difficult questions.

Labour is now very similar to the Conservative Party in real terms. Its message is, basically, “we can run the existing system more efficiently“. Underwhelming, but it might appeal, in minor key, to a voting public totally sick of the present mess.

As for the mugs still, even now, donating to the “Jack Monroe” Patreon grift-mill, I can only assume that those who are not completely unaware of the controversies around her give their monthly donation (anything between £3.50 and £44) rather in the manner of many people who buy The Big Issue, i.e. as a kind of well-meaning baksheesh, even though the content is usually rubbish. I used to buy a copy regularly from a fellow (not always sober) who used to stand outside a shop then called Supafoods, in Little Venice London; I lived nearby at the time, some 26+ years ago.

Yvette Cooper: expenses fraudster, expenses cheat and freeloader. Member of Labour Friends of Israel. Pro-immigration, pro-migrant-invaders, pro-“tinker”/”travellers”. An enemy of free speech. A would-be dictator. A major reason never to vote Labour, however much you may despise the Conservative Party as it now is.

I do not expect decent behaviour from the “royal” Mulatta, Meghan Markle. After all, in the old German saying, “put a beggar on a horse and he rides it to death“, but she has at least the excuse, or reason, of her background, arguably. What is the excuse of Harry (the “royal” Cuck)?

Actually, I think that it clear that “Harry” has mental problems, is not very intelligent even apart from that, and is completely dominated by that crazy bitch. He has anyway sold out not only his family (and I am not a royalist) and background, but also his people, their history, their race and culture. In return, he has a quasi-“celebrity” life in another country, and money in vast amounts, so long as he keeps trashing his country and his own family.

Deprive both the Cuck and the Mulatta of their fake or unmerited “titles”, and reduce them to the ranks.

Even “Jason Bourne” would find it hard to stay free under such conditions.

For those who do not recognize, from the description, the fat woman described above as “a CIA protected asset” (described by the US Embassy in London, in a Wikileaks decrypt, as an informant who should be “strictly protected“), that is Ruth Smeeth, half-Jew former Israeli propaganda employee and also former MP, and now (risibly, for someone who wants to close down free speech) CEO of “Index on Censorship”. She is closely connected to Jewish “anti-fascist” snoop and anti-free-speech groups such as “UAF” (United Against Fascism) and “Hope Not Hate”:

[Ruth Smeeth]

Frightening when you see how easily those superficially “well-informed” msm people really are…imagine buying a magazine such as PR Week with the idea that it knows what it talks about, and then you find that “Jack Monroe” is promoted! After months of constant online criticism of her behaviour, intentions, and whole contrived story!

The Observer was equally misled and/or remiss, not long ago.

Incredibly, and as of today, “Jack Monroe” is still coining it from no less than 641 utter mugs, via the Patreon website. Could be anywhere between from about £2,000 a month to about £30,000 a month. For nothing. Amazing how gullible many people are.

Surely that cannot be what PR Week thinks so great? Someone getting the public to swallow a load of rubbish (both literally and metaphorically)?

Speaking of “Bootstrap Cook”, here are a few recent tweets by one of the many people cheated by her:

The last tweet relates to the fundraiser set up by that struggling couple not long ago, which has raised, so far, just over 50% of the modest sum sought; it is still open for donations: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/heather-booth-3?utm_term=Gde7678Nq.

Incriminating, on the face of it.

I suppose that it could be simply co-incidental, but…

I am of course not a subscriber to PR Week; if I were (today), I would not be (tomorrow).

I have long been sceptical about the endless ranks of “PR” and “Comms” people in the UK. Now see how hopeless is their own quasi-“professional” or pseudo-professional magazine…

Many people realized, years ago, that Twitter had a rotten core in its employee ranks. I myself had, by 2018, just below 3,000 Twitter “followers”, despite myself only following about 40 or so “accounts”, mostly organizations rather than individuals. The Jew-Zionist troublemakers on Twitter tried, from about 2011, to have my account taken down. Finally, in 2018, it was. Prior to that, every time the follower-count approached 3,000, about 40 followers were taken off, en bloc. By the time I was (in the Twitter weasel word, “suspended” (expelled) in 2018, I should have had about 10,000 “followers”.

Others noticed similar phenomena. Peter HItchens made a joke about it, calling the Twitter employees responsible for reducing his follower-count by a personification he called “Frizelda”. Likewise, Nick Griffin realized that various tricks were being employed to reduce his “reach”: not just by reducing the follower-count but also via shadowbanning etc.

The best thing about Elon Musk buying Twitter is that huge numbers of Twitter employees have been sacked and may suffer hardship if they cannot get new jobs quickly. At any rate, at least they have suffered a shock. Screw them.

So it seems that yet another “conspiracy theory” turns out to be, well, true…

Incredible yet, paradoxically, all too believable

The continuing storm around “Jack Monroe”, the “Bootstrap Cook”

Very hard-hitting tweets, but maybe required reading for some sadly misled people in public services, charities etc, who are still apparently unaware of the storm around “Jack Monroe”, the “Bootstrap Cook”, which gained strength in July/August 2022 and has scarcely abated.

I think that some people in executive positions at charities etc, mentally bought into the whole “Bootstrap Cook” thing many years ago, and do not want to see how it has now become a very tarnished “story”.

I myself attempted an assessment on 30 September 2022: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2022/09/30/diary-blog-30-september-2022-including-an-assessment-of-jack-monroe-aka-the-bootstrap-cook/.

Having now seen more material over the past two months, I think that that assessment was more than fair. Perhaps I was too lenient.

This is not a matter which concerns only “Jack Monroe” and the many people who are alleged to have been cheated by her. This is a matter of considerable public interest and concern.

People have to have reasonable confidence that, when they donate money to a cause, or transfer the same, in order —or partly in order— to receive goods and/or services, that they are not being lied to, bamboozled, treated as “mugs”, and cheated out of money.

One of those allegedly cheated by “Jack Monroe” is a lady (not known to me other than via her tweets) called (I believe) Heather Booth (“@frugally_minded” on Twitter), who says that she donated monies on the Patreon website to “Jack Monroe”, but received neither the goods promised nor the refund(s) later demanded.

That lady, who with her disabled husband is now in a terrible financial situation, has not only not been refunded by “Jack Monroe” but also has had to contend with online trolls since the behaviour of “Jack Monroe” has become known online. Whether “Jack Monroe” herself was involved in that, I have no idea.

Please find the details of the lady’s crowdfunder here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/heather-booth-3?utm_term=Gde7678Nq.

As to the overall “Jack Monroe”/”Bootstrap Cook” situation, it seems to me that the responsible regulatory officers (eg for fundraising and/or trading standards) should investigate it. There may well be a need also for the police to investigate whether any offences around alleged fraud have been committed.

Conservative Party

Indicates, as much as any poll can, 18-24 months before a general election, that it may be that the Conservative Party will lose badly but not catastrophically.

It was only weeks ago that the Con Party was on 20%; now 30%. Labour Party has slipped back slightly, and LibDems have slightly improved, to 10%.

Of course, under a proportional representation system, that might give the LibDems 65 MPs, whereas of course, under FPTP voting, 10% gives between 0-20, maybe more MPs, depending on how many votes are concentrated wherever. UKIP got 12% of the vote in 2015 and only 1 MP (a previously-elected Con Party MP) instead of the 78 that might have been expected under a pure PR system.

Despite much noise from Farage, it is clear that, so far, Reform UK is not breaking through. That may be partly because Farage himself is a busted flush, having stabbed his own Brexit Party supporters and candidates in the back during the 2019 General Election. Also, in my view, because the new-ish “Reform UK” is playing the same sort of pseudo-“libertarian” and Brexit tune as did Brexit Party and UKIP before.

The national mood has moved. People want public services that work, not the right to try to become low-tax “entrepreneurs”. What most white British (especially English) people want, but unconsciously, is a form of social-nationalism suited to UK conditions. There is, however, no party even approximating to that.

Looking at that opinion poll, it may be that people are now seriously starting to assess Labour, which is aping most “Conservative” policies and, as someone once parodied Starmer, “we approve of workhouses but they must be run in a fairer way, and more efficiently.”

Rachel Reeves has, over the years, repeatedly said that she would be even harder on the unemployed, sick, and disabled than have been the Con Party governments. She is also a member of Labour Friends of Israel, like Starmer and all his Shadow Cabinet.

On immigration, Labour would allow in even more blacks and browns.

On free speech, Labour would be even more restrictive (hardly surprising, bearing in mind the powerfully poisonous influence of the Jewish lobby on Labour now).

All that, however, does not let Sunak and Con Party off the hook. Many previously Con voters are likely to see the present government as a shambolic mess, and therefore to abstain, or to vote LibDem. That may not result in many (or any) new LibDem MPs, but may have an effect in some Con constituencies.

Likewise, the Reform UK candidates are probably not going to become MPs but may well take votes away from Con Party in marginal constituencies.

It is clear to many that the Government is rubbish, but that the Opposition is also rubbish.

The Conservative Party has never scored as low as 30% in any general election. The closest was in 1997 (30.7%), which resulted in 165 Con MPs (in a slightly larger Commons— 659).

A few percentage points makes a big difference at this level. In 2001, the Con vote was 31.7%, and MPs elected numbered 166, just one more than in 1997, but in 2005 the 32.4% vote-share resulted in 198 Con MPs (in a 646-member House of Commons).

In 2010, David Cameron-Levita’s Con Party achieved only 36.1%, but had elected 306 MPs (out of 650).

The oddity of British elections is shown by the fact that, in 2017, Theresa May’s Con Party achieved 42.3%, yet only had elected 317 Con MPs (out of 650). The devil is very much in the detail.

In 2019, Boris Johnson’s Con Party received a 43.6% vote, not much more than in 2017, but the number of Con MPs jumped to 365.

All the same, once the percentage vote goes below about 35%, the number of MPs elected starts to plummet; below 30% would probably mean fewer than 150 Conservative Party MPs, below 25% a near wipeout.

At 30%, then, the Conservative Party is still just about in the game.

Her bra company, Ultima, was far less successful than claimed when she joined the House of Lords; it collapsed not long afterwards. Sad indeed. When I lived in London, decades ago, I would occasionally visit the store.

Wasn’t Tower Records in fact at the bottom of Regent Street, on Piccadilly Circus, in the building which, before that, had housed the one-time Swan & Edgar department store, or was that another record store? Memory is uncertain.

Ah. I did recall accurately. Just saw this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan_%26_Edgar.

[the one-time Swan & Edgar, later Tower Records and, later yet, “Zavvi”, as shown]

I remember, when it was still Swan & Edgar, around 1980, spotting the then-famous actor, Peter Bowles, gazing into the shop windows on the Piccadilly side (I was on the top deck of a bus).

In its day, it was a fairly fashionable department store.

True, but sometimes (admittedly, rarely) such pop-up shops have something worthwhile. There was a small one, for a few months, in New Oxford Street, sometime in the early 1980s. It was selling vinyl records. I wandered in out of curiosity on my way to Museum Street and the British Library (at the time, in the Reading Room of the British Museum).

To my surprise, one record on sale was the audio of highlights from Triumph of the Will [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triumph_of_the_Will]. I bought several copies, one for me and a few for friends.

[Parteitag, Nurnberg, from the Leni Riefenstahl film Triumph des Willens]

I also bought a couple of copies of the soundtrack from The Hanged Man TV series [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hanged_Man_(TV_series)], now widely-available, but then not, and rather obscure:

Incidentally, I wonder why The Hanged Man TV series, which was pretty good, was never shown on TV after its first broadcast? It is good enough to be shown again, as is The Guardians.

More about migration-invasion

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63743259

UK net migration hit 504,000 in the year to June – the highest figure ever recorded, The Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimates.

The rise is driven by people arriving legally from outside the EU and the resumption of post-pandemic travel.

Reception of Afghan and Ukrainian refugees and people from Hong Kong are other factors.

[BBC]

yet none dare call it treason.

If anyone mentions the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan, he is a “conspiracy theorist“, and if anyone even talks about targeting those responsible, he is a “terrorist” or “far-right extremist”

What is worse yet about the “net migration” figures is that they say “2 migrants in, 1 person out, equals net migration of 1“, whereas those coming in are almost all non-whites, whereas the smaller group leaving are mainly real British people emigrating (getting out, or fleeing); or about half and half. Thus Britain is becoming non-white even faster than the headline number suggests.

Fake “charity”, “Campaign Against Antisemitism”, aka “CAA”, again investigated by the Charity Commission

Others too. A few of my experiences with the malicious Jew-Zionist “CAA” and also “UK Lawyers for Israel”:

Unfortunately, I am not now on Twitter (the Jew-Zionists conspired for years to have me expelled, and finally succeeded in 2018), so I cannot tweet my above blog posts above direct to the Charity Commission.

Michael Gove

One of the supposedly “grossly offensive” tweets posted by me before 2014 (when the Jew-Zionists made a malicious complaint against me to the Bar regulator) was to the effect that Gove was a puppet of the Jews and Israel, and an expenses cheat, indeed actual fraudster. That indeed was upheld as “grossly offensive” by the Bar Disciplinary Tribunal, despite the fact that those facts were demonstrably true and accurate.

In 2016, when my (in fact unlawful— see the blog post above) “trial” was held, it had not yet come to public attention that Gove, that sick little bastard, was (and is) also a drunk, and a cocaine abuser. Yet there the little bastard sits, a Cabinet minister! This system is rotten to the core.

In fact, Gove was previously a cravenly pro-Jew “journalist”, prior to getting selected, then notionally “elected”, as MP. These are the human or humanoid blots that are running our country, our society, into the ground.

Incidentally, you will see from the blog post dealing with my disbarment that an inaccurate statement was made, after the denouement, by the BSB.

It was said by the BSB, untruthfully, that my Twitter profile “made it clear” that I was a barrister. My Twitter profile in fact said nothing about that.

Sara Jagger was the then Head of Professional Standards at the Bar Standards Board (she is apparently now “Director” of the same).

I never had any direct contact with her then or since, as far as I can recall (I think only with other BSB employees). Just saw a picture of her for the first time. A black woman.

Where did that name come from? Still, we have had Trevor McDonald, the newsreader, I suppose…

I wonder whether, somewhere, there is even an “Ian Millard” who is Afro-Caribbean. Probably not.

I know most of the names of the guilty. “Old sins cast long shadows“…

As said previously, the malice shown by the CAA is really that of its very few active members. The “CAA” has only a tiny handful of active members or supporters, and its whole support base is very small, a couple of hundred Jews, if even that many, out of 250,000-300,000 in the UK. Maybe one out of every two or three thousand Jews.

In fact, there are a half dozen or maybe dozen really active Jews in the “CAA”, yet this tiny and nasty cabal is treated by the TV, radio and Press (where many Jews work, or lurk), as if somehow “authoritative” and/or “representative”. It is not; not at all.

Not too hard to understand why. Look at the heads of political reportage, and other journalists, at the main news outlets, among them Sky and LBC.

This is the problem: get rid of the “Conservative” Party, and its craven pro-Jew/Israel attitude, but what then? Labour takes over, packed with Jewish-lobby drones like Rachel Reeves.

I think that Reeves is herself at least part-Jew, but have been unable to obtain proof, so far.

The Labour front-bench is entirely composed of members of Labour Friends of Israel. As for Starmer himself, a very fervent pro-Israel drone, I have still not been able to discover whether, when he eats Jewish ritual dinners with his Jewish wife and part-Jew children, he wears one of those little skullcaps or “yarmulki“.

A photograph of the above would be worth rubies.

Which may or may not be so. The situation does need to be investigated though, by competent official agencies though, not merely by commentators on Twitter.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

On this day a year ago

It makes one shudder to think what those who fought in either of the great European wars would think of society now, though not all changes have been negative, by any means; however, the destruction (presently ongoing) of European race and culture, plotted and executed by those in political power, and who should be defending Europe, overshadows all else.

Tweets and comment about “Jack Monroe”, aka the “Bootstrap Cook”

About 6 weeks ago, I blogged about the storm around “Jack Monroe”, aka “the Bootstrap Cook”, which storm had been raging on Twitter, Facebook, Tattle and elsewhere since sometime in August of this year. It continues unabated.

There now seem to be two clear groups: the supporters of “Bootstrap Cook”, most of whom seem to be politically-correct, wilfully-blind, Guardian/Observer readers, few if any of whom are in any way “poor” or “struggling”; on the other hand, there are those (many of whom are former supporters) who are critical of “Jack Monroe, accusing her of “grifting”, near-fraud if not actual fraud, as well as lying constantly about her life, her background, her history, her financial position etc. They also make the point that many of her recipes (if they are even that, as in her “soup” made from pulverized frozen beefburgers and some stock, or her “boil an egg and spread it on buttered bread”) are either not recipes at all or, equally-often, heavily-carbohydrate offerings, short on vitamins, minerals, and even calories.

Which of those two groups am I in? I started off, several years ago, vaguely noticing the “Bootstrap Cook” as something or someone more positive than not, “helping” the struggling and those penalized by the evil machinations of Iain Dunce Duncan Smith, George Osborne etc.

Over time, I have become more and more critical, as guided by the facts that have emerged. Now, I should say that I think “Jack Monroe” is someone with many personal or mental problems but who has certainly also been taking the pathetic journalists of the UK, and many others, for a ride, and making a pretty good and not very honest living from it all.

I am not a psychiatrist, so cannot fully explain why no less than 664 very silly and/or misled people (as of today) are paying Jack Monroe/Bootstrap Cook between £3.50 and £10 per month via the Patreon website; i.e. up to £6,640 a month in cash (minus Patreon fees etc), which might even be taxfree as “gifts” (not sure about that; it is a long long time since I was involved in any tax law).

In addition, some other (?) exceptionally silly people also send other, one-off donations to the alleged “grifter”/”fraudster” (who, inter alia, claims that a family of 4 can feed itself well for £20 a week by using her recipes).

In addition, Jack Monroe has 7 books in print, and is thus receiving royalties (£90,000+ in the past several years), and makes money in a number of other ways.

She has crowdfunded for an action in defamation against the —admittedly not very pleasant— MP, Lee Anderson [Con, Ashfield: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Anderson_(British_politician)], and politico/journalist Martin Daubney [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Daubney], but since the announcement of that in the msm and on Twitter in May 2022, it seems that no writ has been issued nor any pre-action correspondence received (info per Lee Anderson). It has been alleged that Jack Monroe has simply taken the money donated for the threatened libel action, and spent it. Whether that is so, I have no idea, but tend to believe it, in the absence of any proof that there is going to be an action launched (and time is shortening— only 5-6 months left, at maximum).

Tweets continue to be posted:

Exactly. Many of the “well-meaning” or bien-pensant pro-Jack Monroe tweeters (mostly though not all women) have invested emotional capital in “Bootstrap Cook”, and are therefore immune to logic or fact. They cannot admit that they have been and are being duped, and prefer to carry on paying £3.50 or £10 a month rather than face reality.

Note the poor literacy in that tweet from AFP, one of the largest international news agencies. Sign of the times.

If Putin cannot pull a rabbit out of the hat pretty soon, Russia will have some kind of “revolution” at some point not far down the line. Lost wars have had that result in Russia before. The only solution is not to lose the war…

(…or just [REDACTED] out of hand the woolly-headed idiot).

When did woolly-head stop banging that stupid “ho”, Liz Truss?

A sign of things to come if the UK continues to slide down the slope into multikulti chaos?

Meanwhile, the pseudo-green “activists” think that punishing the British public is the way to go. I saw a clip from, I think, Sky News this morning. One Indigo Brumelow, a plainly very thick and “silver-spoon” young woman, completely hysterical.

https://news.sky.com/story/just-stop-oil-protester-defends-m25-disruption-birds-are-falling-out-of-the-sky-pensioners-are-dying-12743962

She strikes me as mentally-afflicted in some way. I am no medic, but maybe autistic?

Potentially dangerous, like so many of the pseudo-green “activists”. Potentially terroristic. It is a question of degree only.

Actually, all the examples given by Indigo Rumbelow (floods in South Asia, hot weather in Europe etc) have occurred not only in recent decades but a hundred years and more ago.

I bet she will be pro-immigration as well. While living in the parents’ country house, or affluent suburbia (when not in a London flatshare), well away from the results of her pathetic yet damaging “activism”.

Indigo Brumelow thinks that women were “not allowed to own anything” until the Suffragettes agitated. Completely wrong, historically. She’s an ignoramus.

Will Indigo Brumelow end up in a mental hospital? She looks like a fanatical loony, and one who seems capable of any crime.

Ah. According to the Daily Mail:

Indigo was first arrested at Cannes Lions Advertising Festival in 2019 for gate-crashing a Facebook conference and has been held by police on at least six occasions since then.

In 2020 she began digging up the lawn in front of the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government and was arrested again in Parliament Square later that year when she blocked the road.

The newspaper also says that she is based on the Gower Peninsula, in South Wales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. No doubt the family home. She is 28. No mention of any profession, job, or even study. In other words, as guessed, a silver-spoon trustafarian, like so many of the Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion idiots. Rote-learned repetitive ranting. No real thought at all.

Actually, she came over to me as mentally closer to 15 than 28. She evidently has some form of emotional/mental problem.

Ukraine

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/nov/11/reports-of-wounded-soldiers-being-abandoned-as-russia-retreats-from-kherson-city

Were I Putin, I would arrange dictatorial powers for myself, then a. shoot most of the generals of the Russian Army; b. shoot many of the higher-ups in the GRU; c. bring up and train younger officers; d. find out where Zelensky is based and then fire a nuclear missile at his location.

Russia needs a gamechanger. What is now happening, and most of what has been happening from February onwards, has been a complete and embarrassing “shitshow”, causing huge property and infrastructure damage, huge harm to Ukrainian civilians and others, and to companion animals, and also resulting in 100,000 deaths and injuries to Russian officers and soldiers, let alone the devastating damage to Russia’s reputation in all ways.

Not that I opposed, or even now oppose, the invasion, but it was delayed pointlessly, for weeks, then carried out in a shockingly half-hearted, desultory, and almost detached manner. Shocking. As blogged before, this is not the army, or the equivalent of the (Soviet) army, that could and did take whole countries in days, among them Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan.

Putin seriously needs to get a grip, or give way to someone who can take firm control and achieve victory.

I might be tempted to say that all the participants in that “jungle” show should be shot out of hand, but actually I do not know who or what any of them are, or why they are “celebrities”, except Boy George, Mike Tindall, and Matt Hancock (and, thinking about it, there is no reason to have Tindall shot anyway, as far as I know).

I do not think that I shall be watching I’m A Celebrity, in any case.

Interesting graphic

Interesting in several details, such as that 41% of Americans have never flown on a plane! I am also surprised to see that a third of American adults do not own a car.

Most telling, perhaps, is that only 62% of Americans have a household income over USD $25,000, meaning that 38% of households are struggling by on less than $25,000 a year.

When I married my first wife, a United States Federal Government employee, her own relatively modest income in 1990 was about $36,000, so an income of $25,000 in 2022, 32 years later, and for a household (that might contain two or more workers), is really what the American magazines call “hardscrabble”.

The educational levels are, as expected low, with the respondents apparently thinking that 30% of their fellow-Americans live in New York City (it’s 3%), 30% in Texas (it’s 9%) and 32% in California (it’s 12%).

An uninformed and/or ignorant population cannot support a democracy worth anything, hence the American political mess that we see unfolding, as Adlai Stevenson [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adlai_Stevenson_II] implied pretty clearly when his campaign train was in a small town during a Presidential campaign of the 1950s. A woman ran up to him, crying out, “Mr. Stevenson, you must win! Every thinking American will vote for you!“, to which Stevenson drily and prophetically replied, “Not enough, Madam; I need a majority“…

I rather dread the sort of elected dictatorship that Jewish-lobby puppet Starmer might head, containing such as would-be dictator Yvette Cooper (expenses cheat, fraud, and another Labour Friends of Israel member), but Isabel Oakeshott is right— what is the point of the Conservative Party now? And look at the Cabinet! A real collection of deadheads.

The only thing that the Con Party can now say is “we are not Labour“. That might save their bacon to a (very) limited extent, but only to such a small extent.

As to that “elected dictatorship” of Labour, we shall just have to face it down any way we can.

This was in The Times, only recently published, though the statistics are from 2018:

True, but that was also true of the old Soviet leadership.
