Happened to hear Lord “Gus” O’Donnell, former head of the Civil Service, on BBC Radio 4 PM, a show that became so pathetic and self-indulgent over the years that I stopped listening (in common with, I suspect, almost all of its one-time audience).
Switching over from Radio 3, I heard O’Donnell say something quite striking: churches, said he, had become “community hubs”, along with other places. He added that, instead of being the House of God, they were now the House of Good, by which he meant communitarian good works and societal cohesion.
It could be argued that the two are almost synonymous. “God, or whatever means the Good...”, as Louis MacNeice wrote in one of his poems, Meeting Point [https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/91396/meeting-point]. Another analogous substitution might be “Common Era” instead of Anno Domini, along with “Before Common Era”, BCE, instead of Before Christ (B.C.).
Having said that, and however good the motives for turning churches into combination coffee shops, cafes, souvenir shops, therapy centres, food bank outlets and concert halls (or village halls), the inevitable result of all the social and cultural noise is that a certain spiritual peace is lost. To put it in a more sensationalist way, God is squeezed out, though squeezed out, of course, for the best of motives…
I wonder whether Lord O’Donnell was ever connected with Common Purpose? I should not be surprised.

The “lockdown” and facemask nonsense is largely being driven by people (MPs and others) getting generous pay and expenses from public sources, and who are unaffected by the trashing of the economy.
Celebrating #GuyFawkes Night is more important than ever this year. Resisting foreign-inspired tyranny & homegrown traitors is a new duty as well as an old tradition.
Masks for us, but not for them. Late night bars for them, but not for us. Pay rise for them, but not for us. Quarantine for us, but not for them. Police raids for us, but….
Completely expected. The troupe of clowns pretending to be “our” government will do whatever they want to do, lie about it, weasel about it, and laugh at the people they pretend to govern.
The hypocrisy is ingrained. I have only ever seen one episode of The Simpsons, when I lived in New Jersey in the very early 1990s. I cannot recall the storyline, but the show ended with Bart Simpson sitting down and starting “…so, kids, now you know that war is always wrong...” before reconsidering…”oh…except the war against Saddam Hussein…oh, and the Second World War… and the First World War, and of course the War of Independence, and…” You get the idea.
Human beings are often hypocritical, and rarely totally congruent. The hypocrisy and incongruity rises to 99%+ in politicians of the type we have, those Adolf Hitler called “dirty democratic politicians”, though the UK versions are rarely even “democratic” in any real sense.
More accurately, government-created ghost towns. This madness is now totally out of control. Hardly anyone under 40 is at real risk of both becoming infected and suffering serious effects, yet the whole country is still more or less shut down.
In fact, even most people over 40, but under 70, are only at low risk.
When Alison Chabloz started getting seriously persecuted by the pack of Jews known as the “Campaign Against Antisemitism”, manipulating compliant or suborned police, a few years ago, Martin Bashir [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Bashir], then recently-appointed BBC Religious Affairs Correspondent, was observed creeping around the garden of the house in the Derbyshire Peak District belonging to Alison Chabloz’s aged parents. In fact, “creep” seems to be the best description of the bastard.

True, but ditch the outdated and almost meaningless “Right”/”Left” stuff.
Who said you could @niceetoile? Burnham should be *opposing* these pointless, damaging shutdowns, not asking for extra money to make them temporarily bearable. Every week of shutdown means hundreds more jobs lost, dozens more businesses destroyed. For good. https://t.co/tIiT0qdYxG
Pushing the clocks forward to unnatural time was done in an irrational wartime panic in 1916, because Kaiser Wilhelm did it first. https://t.co/jXOe0WLNUP See also https://t.co/ScXJUj1gho
Yes. Putting the clocks back and forward is one of those things that are implemented for doubtful good reasons, but then get stuck and carry on for years, or decades, because society is too lazy to bin them. Other examples would include dog licences, radio licences and having only a ludicrously small amount of foreign currency purchaseable in person, the amount being written in your passport! All of the foregoing were in existence, though the licences were mostly ignored, until Mrs. Thatcher junked them in or about 1980.
We sometimes think that societal progress or change is automatic, when in fact, often, things do have to be actually disposed of actively.

We are spending so much time arguing about the rules no one seems to be focusing on compliance with the rules. I have to be honest. I’m struggling to find anyone who has any intention of obeying these regulations any more.
Which will be a perfect get-out for Boris-idiot and SAGE (“DUMB”— Department Under Matt and Boris). “Coronavirus flaring up? Oh, it’s because all those dissidents and Covidiots are not complying with our rules…”. Forgetting that France and Spain have had far stricter “lockdowns” etc and yet have a far worse death rate per 100,000 from (with) “the virus” than has the UK.
Just been told children seeing their friends represents “unnecessary contact”. We are so completely and utterly screwed.
OK, here’s another one. What is the science behind telling children who see each other every day inside a school they can’t see each other inside a house for a few hours over half-term.
Morning. We are now less than 3 hours away from Greater Manchester – population 2.8 million – being ordered into a Tier 3 lockdown. Against the wishes of its local democratically elected leaders. A lockdown the Chief Medical Officer has already said won't work.
The “virus” in the UK peaked in early April, and has been falling ever since, but only in the past couple of months has the population been forced to wear facemasks…Absurd. They make no difference at all.
If London is still a functioning city in 12 months time it will be a miracle.
Wales announces circuit-breaker lockdown. Government continues to try and bully Manchester into Tier 3 lockdown. So my regular question. Can we see the scientific evidence that supports these interventions? Any evidence at all?

Latest conspiracy theory
What follows is the latest conspiracy theory about “the virus”. I know that it is the very latest, because I have just made it up. I have no evidence at all for it. Not that it might not just be true…
My instant theory is that an international conspiracy has decided to reduce both the world population and world economic activity by releasing a virus which, like multiple independently-targeted re-entry vehicles (MIRVs), will take multiple forms, killing some people, creating long-term infertility in others, and mutating to return in ever more deadly forms for years. Meanwhile, those behind the facade of national governments will keep both political and economic control, repressing dissent, preventing mass gatherings and even small conclaves.
Well, I make no claim as to the accuracy of the foregoing, but it may be correct all the same…
It's not about defeating the virus, that requires a vaccine or drugs that stop it killing people. It's about controlling the spread of covid to stop the NHS being overrun, save lives & buy time. But lockdowns obviously come at a huge economic, & associated public health, cost. https://t.co/YT8r65OrHA
Looks like ignorant TV face Piers Morgan is finally (just) starting to wake up…
As for “lockdowns” supposedly “protecting the NHS”, the NHS staff have been protected (many are working from home, and not even at hospitals and medical centres) but the patients have in many cases been left to sink or swim…
Last chance to write to your MP before tomorrow’s vote on the iniquitous, despotic Coronavirus Act . This vote is symbolic and only a start. But we *must* use the lawful democratic weapons which are open to us, if we are to regain our freedom . pic.twitter.com/YimMF7KWb2
If rebels had the stomach they'd be willing to go nuclear & vote down the renewal of the entire Coronavirus Act, should the Speaker refuse to select Brady amendment. But they don't have the stomach – which is exactly why the Speaker feels no compulsion to select Brady amendment!
From @SteveBakerHW: The Coronavirus Act created the most dangerous changes to state power seen in a generation. It must be replaced. https://t.co/r4kL1Bu1oU
The irony is that changes to state power in various other countries in the past century were done because a party and a dictator wanted to institute a dictatorship in order to carry out a programme; in Germany, the Enabling Act 1933 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enabling_Act_of_1933]; in the Soviet Union, a number of decrees, conference resolutions and executive actions [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_of_Vladimir_Lenin].
The present clownish government in the UK has no real, let alone radical or revolutionary programme to promulgate and execute. It is swept along by events. There may be an overarching “international conspiracy” “programme”, but that goes beyond this discussion and is being directed from secret sources. As far as the “Conservative” Party government led or headed by Boris Johnson is concerned, it really has no programme at all. Rudderless.
Boris-idiot resembles the jester or court fool of the mediaeval period, who is made “King for a Day”.
Who to blame? Obviously, firstly, Boris-idiot himself. It was his ambition to be “World King”, —Prime Minister is the nearest offered by the UK— that has led him to his present rank.
I blame also the Conservative Party MPs, who supported “Boris” as party leader, thinking that he would be popular with the voters. I blame, also, the 90,000+ (out of 140,000) Conservative Party members who wanted “Boris” to be their leader.
Most of all, I blame the uncritical mass media, the scribblers and talking heads of which have been promoting “Boris” openly for about 20 years.
What of the voters themselves? Yes, they, at least those that voted for Conservative Party candidates, are also to blame, but they were misled by the msm, which promoted “Boris”, and at the same time demonized Corbyn. The Jewish lobby was a large part of that.
The Speaker needs to show some flexibility here. A majority of MPs clearly want the chance to amend the Coronavirus Act, in order to restore the role of Parliament in the making of law. It would be extraordinary if they were denied a chance to vote on this https://t.co/MK6qGS3OtF
Still think that you live in a “free and fair” “democracy”?
This is getting more apparent every day. If they don’t get the amendment they have got to vote against the coronavirus act because Hancock is not going to give them what they want otherwise. He still wants to make any rules he likes. Hopefully they are well aware of this too.
Voting @diywest is not compulsory nor is it a moral obligation. Abstention is sometimes a duty – and the freedom not to vote for bad candidates is a vital part of liberty. The ideal solution would be a 'None of the Below' slot at the tope of every ballot paper. https://t.co/Fb6TOOC333
Here (above) we see Peter Hitchens offering a non-solution to the problem. Abstention, while it may send a vague message of sullen resistance to the System (eg if the voter turnout is 10% rather than the usual General Election figure of 60%+), achieves nothing beyond that. The same parties (in Hitler’s words, “the dirty democratic politicians”) will fight for that 10% just as they usually do for the present 65% or 70%), ignoring the non-voters.
Any similar graph showing world “Covid-19” statistics would be even more striking, because in the world as a whole a million have died, but of course that is out of eight thousand million! One death for every eight thousand people on the Earth.
Then his constituents should draw the obvious conclusion. If he does not wish to represent them, they should find someone else who does. That’s how it works. https://t.co/YU3TkCKXl2
Once again, above, Hitchens has no answer except to say “don’t vote” or “vote for someone/anyone else”! Parliamentary democracy as we have known it for the past couple of centuries just does not do its job any more.
Sometimes this country (as it now is) infuriates me, often it exasperates me. “Bloody Sunday” is one example. Whatever the rights and wrongs, the fact is that those events took place nearly 49 years ago. In earlier ages, Britain (Ireland maybe not) made history, good or bad, then moved on, to make new history. These days, everything drags on forever.
It is the same with the Hillsborough football stadium thing. Yes, very sad that people died in an incident probably avoidable, yes the behaviour of some of the police and Press was wrong, but it was 31 years ago. Enough!
Jeremy Corbyn is being sued by a BBC journalist and maybe others (I have not kept up with the nonsense). I notice that Corbyn’s legal defence fund has now slowed almost to a halt, but not before it has reached (as of today) £332,803: https://uk.gofundme.com/f/47gyy-jeremy039s-legal-fund. That compares to about £318K a couple of months ago.
The mouse that roared
On my way back from, as the Americans say, running an errand, I decided to call in at a “Mole Country Store”, one of a medium-size chain of such outlets. I had only been there once or twice over the years.
They had instituted a silly “one-way” system, presumably in case someone is a plague-carrier. I went through the labyrinth without finding what I wanted, so approached one of the two cashiers, a woman in late middle age wearing a mask despite being behind a perspex screen.
I pulled my disposable facemask down to say “I am looking for…“, and that was as far as I got before the harridan barked (and that is the accurate term) “PUT YOUR FACEMASK ON PLEASE SIR!” (the “Sir” very much the kind of “Sir” sometimes tacked on by the police to some sarcastic remark, or by instructors of Army officer-cadets, as in “you will call me Sir and I shall call you Sir; the difference is that you will mean it.”…).
After a brief exchange in which it turned out that “Mole Country Store” did not have the product I wanted (I think that the old bitch was lying, in fact, in order to mess me around), I expostulated that “this is nonsense!“, as I stormed out, tearing off the mask.
There were only three customers anyway (it was much busier there a few years ago), so it may be that the place is living on borrowed time. I hope so, if that is how their serfs treat the customers. Anyway, they have just lost one customer.
I think that the sort of situation just described is one of the worst aspects of the Government-imposed nonsense of the past months. That woman is no longer a poorly-paid wage-slave in some rural store. Oh, no. She is now the guardian of publc health, who can bark at people to do this, do that etc. All sorts of nuisances, pains-in-the-whatever, and busybodies, have been emboldened and their existences somehow validated by the “lockdown”, “social distancing” and now facemask nonsense imposed by Boris-idiot and his Friends of Israel regime.

Mis-spoke, Pfeffel, @borisjohnson old bean? That's the sort of thing Ronald Reagan used to say. Either you meant what you said, and understood it, or you didn't. If not, whatever is going on? You're Prime Minister and, as I recall, very much wanted the job. https://t.co/OGOqyXx7rz
Peter Hitchens is right when he suggests that people who are deeply in trouble, like @BorisJohnson and cannot admit it need to be helped to climb down as honorably as possible. This farce must end.
Pfeffel now becomes a pathetic, pitiable figure. This is what happens to politicians who try to make normal life illegal and Christmas an arrestable offence, in pursuit of wild Utopian goals. Once he has gone to spend more time with his family, I shall feel sorry for him. Not now https://t.co/iT8EzlXrzh
Looks like the rest of the country is catching up fast with long-time critics of the part-Jew public entertainer presently posing as Prime Minister.
I have been anti-“Boris” for well over a decade.
When I saw a brief part of Prime Minister’s Questions last Wednesday, “Boris” looked not so much crushed as flattened. That was not entirely because of the onslaught on him by actually rather unimpressive Angela Rayner. I think though (and last PMQs thought for the first time) that “Boris” really is, in the time-honoured phrase, now “considering his position” as Prime Minister.
As I blogged a day or two ago, “Boris” enjoyed being PM so long as it amounted to him posing as “World King” (his stated ambition when he was 8 years old). Now, he has understood that, especially in fractious times, being Prime Minister involves the storied “blood, sweat and tears”. Difficult choices and decisions. Trenchant criticism from many, including political “friends”. Nowhere to hide, most of the time. A British Prime Minister may not have to be on display as he gets dressed, unlike the Bourbon kings at their morning “levee”, but apart from that is on display most of the time.
You might think that an exhibitionist such as “Boris” would enjoy the attention which is an inevitable part of being a Prime Minister of the UK, but I apprehend that “Boris” does not like being put on the spot or questioned. Who does, actually?
Theresa May hid away as much as possible, leading to her ludicrous election speeches in 2017 to selected bunches of people in remote aircraft hangars. “Boris” has tried to hide in a fridge, in a tent, at Chequers, and elsewhere too, but his very rank now seeks him out. You cannot “work from home” as a Prime Minister. There is no home, really.
In the end, people want to be Prime Minister for one or more of several reasons: vanity; to accomplish particular things; out of a sense of duty; in order to be at the peak of executive power; malice, meaning to deny the position to others.
Boris-idiot has no ideology, no real ideas, no sense of duty, and has really only the vanity of having attained to the position, and also the sense of power, of being able to hire and fire etc.
Boris has no ideology, that much is obvious. He pretended at one time to have a kind of libertarian, “free-market”, 1960s Hong Kong-meets-Milton Friedman ideology at first; a “can-do” cartoon American self-help view of the world which indicated a total lack of self-awareness. After all, where would “Boris” be without the education (and for “education”, read “connections”) bestowed by Eton and Oxford and bought by his pushy careerist father, and family generally? Every job “Boris” messed up just led to another and another. “Boris” has never had to struggle, because family and other connections always helped him.
Any ideological sense has now left “Boris”. The one-time cartoon “libertarian” now tries to force the British people to wear facemask muzzles, to keep x-feet away from each other, to have no more than 6 people together at any one time, even at family gatherings etc. When was the last time there were such killjoy “laws” (which in fact may not even be —valid— laws)? The Second World War? The Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell?
As for free-marketism, the Boris-idiot government has prevented many businesses from operating profitably or at all, while at the same time propping up those and other businesses with public money: airlines, train companies, bus companies, restaurants, pubs, hotel chains. You name it.
All that in the name of suppressing a virus which peaked in the UK in early April of 2020, and which has been killing fewer and fewer people ever since. Yesterday, the latest figures showed about 4,000 people “testing positive” for “the virus”, most of whom showed no symptoms at all! Meanwhile, about 20 or so people died “from” (with) that virus (supposedly). 1 person dying for every 2,000 known to have the virus.
This is madness. “Boris” made the wrong call right from the start, by “locking down” (shutting down” much of the economy and almost all of our society, even churches and the House of Commons.
“Boris” was misled by the risibly misnamed “SAGE” committee (I prefer “DUMB”— Department Under Matt and Boris).
I do not blame “Boris” for making the wrong call, but I do blame him for not admitting his mistake in due time, for not stopping the “lockdown” after the first few weeks, and for not reining back the excesses of the toytown police across the country. A police state is bad, but a silly toytown police state is in some respects worse and certainly leads to a disrespect for all the institutions of society.
What are the ideas of Prime Minister “Boris”? Schoolboy fantasies of bridges across the Irish Sea, a bridge across the English Channel, of tunnels under the sea, of garden bridges across the Thames, cable-cars across the Thames (the only one that was built, but which is of little use); again, of sci-fi artificial islands, on which were to be new airports and high-tech industries. All fantasy, not thought through.
I think that I prefer the fantasies of Ludwig II of Bavaria, who at least realized some of his, leaving fairytale castles in the Alps for the wonderment of latter-day tourists. Neuschwanstein, Linderhof etc at least were built. “Boris Island”, the “Thames Garden Bridge”, the Scotland-Ireland tunnel etc, will never be.
Looking at Boris-idiot now, there is little beyond a deflated balloon. I think that, in his heart (such as it is), “Boris” knows that he is no good at being Prime Minister, and, in that heart, wants out. However, he will not want to resign in disgrace. That means that he has to keep on pretending that the “lockdown” was necessary, that the “local” lockdowns (which now cover or soon will cover much of the country) are necessary, that the fairly recent facemask-muzzling of shoppers (but not pubgoers or office workers) was and remains necessary.
“Boris” is like someone, an employee, who has bet with the money of the company and cannot leave without exposing his dishonesty and incompetence. A political Nick Leeson.
We see now that a raft of stories emerge about how “Boris” cannot live comfortably with his latest quasi-wife and latest child on the poor salary of a Prime Minister, about how crowded are their living conditions at Downing Street, how they actually have to pay something for their food and drink (!), and how they cannot even use Chequers for entertaining their friends without actually having to pay for said friends!
Can you believe it?! The bastard thinks that he cannot live easily on his salary (nearly £160,000 gross), in addition to which salary he has a free flat at Downing Street, a free country house and park at Chequers, free chauffeured transport etc.
“Boris” thinks that the public funds should pay for food and drink for himself and the “ho”, and for their friends!
This seems like a testing-the-waters for a “resigning for personal reasons”, which might include “health reasons”, i.e. that the idiot’s health has been so damaged by “the virus” that he has to step down as Prime Minister. He can then put forward a narrative such as “wounded in action” or equivalent.
No doubt he would not step down as MP, thus enabling him to keep getting the MP salary and expenses, and to scribble his cretinous rantings in the popular Press (for which he was getting £250,000+ p.a., incredibly). No doubt a book or two would also be scribbled. “My Life” and/or “My Time As Prime Minister“, “Me and the Virus” (etc).
For the first time, I thought over the past week that “Boris” might be gone within a year or so. Who then will be (“unelected”) PM, just as “Boris” was when he took over from Theresa May? Indian “clever boy” Rishi Sunak, he of the disastrous furlough payments? Somehow I doubt it. Mass unemployment, probably just around the corner, will put paid to him, probably. Another Indian, Priti Patel? Good grief! I hope not. As dense as Channel fog. What about little Matt Hancock? This is absurd now…but that is the political system we are in…

On the personal front sources say Johnson is complaining about money. He is still supporting four out of his six children, has been through an expensive divorce and had his income drop by more than half as a result of fulfilling his lifetime ambition https://t.co/JGe3D91tOX
1. His name is Johnson. He isn't a friend of yours. 2. He earns more than 99% of the population. 3. He took the job voluntarily, in fact he lied and smeared and cheated to get it. 4. He has failed at the job and should be paid nothing.

As my regular readers will know, I rarely use the lazy and inaccurate designations “Right” and “Left”. Politics and society have moved on. Look at Boris-idiot “recommending” (giving) a peerage to former Revolutionary Communist Party and more recently Brexit Party candidate, Claire Fox…
You come late to this @rockboltg. Sweden permitted the same disaster in its care homes as the UK did. Its general poloicy had no effect on or relation to that. The incidence in the general population was low and current spread appears to be weak. . https://t.co/yOldZkpzem
1/2 @boy_mediocre . There is no congruence between the severity of shutdown measures throughout the world, and the subsequent behaviour of the virus. Rather the reverse (see especially Peru, Belgium and Japan) https://t.co/kUQ2RISQ4G
2/2 @boy_mediocre It is an old rule that he who claims the existence of a causal effect has to prove it. And there is another old rule that because B happens after A, B is not necessarily caused by A. So if you have such proof, I'm ready to read it. https://t.co/kUQ2RISQ4G
Seems that the more “hardworking” prisoners are being kept in prison in California, contrary to express court orders, so that they can be used as slave labour doing things like fighting fires, and cleaning cars! The less amenable and probably more dangerous ones are being released, incredibly. Further, guess who argued for those “good” prisoners, mostly blacks, to be kept longer in prison so that they could slave for the State? None other than Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party candidate for Vice-President!

Don't necessarily assume others are as complacent. I was listening to some System propaganda yesterday on the radio. Unsure now whether it was BBC World Service (probably was) or Radio 4. The only other radio station I listen to regularly is BBC Radio 3. Anyway, that broadcast said that deaths “from” (with) “the virus” now top a million worldwide. Well even taking the million figure as accurate, that is one million out of a world population of nearly 8 BILLION, i.e. 8 thousand million. One person dead from or with “the virus” for every 8 thousand people living on Earth now (in rough figures).
There is no need for “lockdowns” (which huge harm both socially and economically), let alone facemasks.
Took a look at the statistics for 2020. So far, tens of thousands of hits from nearly 10,000 individuals. With four full months to go until the end of the year, the number of hits already exceeds the figure for 2019 by about 7%, but the best aspect is that the number of individuals has jumped by 25%. It will be interesting to see the final figures for this year.
The number of “likes” from other WordPress users is also up, but few are ever given (on anyone’s blog) anyway. I had to laugh at the number (as of today) though: 88! True… Is it synchronicity?
Most readers of blogs do not belong to the platform, whether WordPress or other, so the number of “likes” means little. Most blogs get only a few in any given month. Likewise with comments. WordPress blogs are not like social media accounts such as Twitter.
Why does one bother? It is a way of influencing society, even if in a very small way; on the other hand, “one human soul is a big audience“, which I always think was said either by St. Thomas Aquinas or St. Dominic, or maybe even St. Augustine of Hippo, but in fact I have never been able to find the citation.
Who knows who might read my blog and be influenced by it? The next young Alexander? Perhaps a young reader who, after I leave this Earth in my present incarnation, will create the new civilization which I myself, at least so far, have been unable to bring to life and power.
A few “thoughts out of season”
I am 64 years of age in a few days’ time, though I do not —usually!— feel it. Two years until I am 66, in 2022. 2022 can be expressed as a 6 (2+0+2+2), and (by one system of numerology) the number of my name (Ian Robert Millard) is 666, though I should add that I am scarcely a —let alone the—“Beast”!
Like “the stars in their courses“, I “fight on the side of the just” (an ancient Chinese saying).
2022 is the next world-historic year. The last, 33 years before 2022, was 1989, the key year in the collapse of socialism across the world. Socialism did not collapse in one year alone, of course. It had been slowly dying for decades, indeed since the previous year in that 33-year cycle, meaning 1956 (also the year of my own birth).
When I say “socialism” here, I refer to all post-1945 varieties, from the kind of social democratic idea seen in postwar UK, Sweden, New Zealand etc through to the extreme versions seen in the Soviet Union, China, Albania etc. True, China still has and is ruled by the Communist Party, but that party rules over a society completely capitalist. Yes, there are a few unimportant remnants of ruined socialism here and there: Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela (which only became notionally socialist in the 1990s, though there were socialistic elements in Venezuelan society in the 1950s and 1960s). The point is that these countries are exceptions, and poverty-stricken exceptions. The mainstream of the world has moved on from old-style socialism.
After 1989, the Soviet Union ceased to exist as a socialist state, though the Soviet Union continued in name until 1991.
After 1989 and the —superficially— unsuccessful Tiananmen Square protest, “socialism” became a figleaf covering only, just like “aristocracy” has been for a long time in UK society. Deng Xiaoping had said that no-one cared what colour was a cat, so long as it catches mice. That was why socialism had to be superseded, because as an economic model it “does not work”.
Socialism does not work well in the economic sense, but finance-capitalism does not work well socially. Hence the —as yet largely not understood— need for the Threefold Social Order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_threefolding.
In the UK, the social democratic idea was fully espoused after the Second World War, certainly from 1956, by all three “main parties” (the two real main parties —Conservative and Labour— and the joke Liberal Party). That consensus (“democratic socialist” Labour, in existence in essence since the late 19thC, and “One Nation” Conservatism, also deriving originally from the late 19thC and Disraeli) broke down in the 1980s.
In the 1990s, the “Conservatives” travelled to a more finance-capitalist, anti-Welfare State position. “Labour” dropped “Clause 4” (which notionally committed the party to widespread nationalization —socialization— of the economy). Within a few years, after 1997, Labour had become completely “cosmopolitan finance-capitalist” under Tony Blair and the Jew Mandelson, who declared that he was “intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich“.
While the Jew Mandelson held secret meetings with Rothschilds and “Russian” Jew oligarchs in Corfu villas and elsewhere, Attlee and Bevan rotated in their graves, and the remaining “socialist” element in Labour seethed, led by the dissident MP, Jeremy Corbyn.
Despite much talk, the “socialist” Labour element under Corbyn and, before that, Ed Miliband, was unable to struggle successfully against the Zeitgeist. The General Elections of 2015, 2017 and 2019 proved that old-style socialism is dead. That despite public disquiet at the weakening and partial dismantling of the “Welfare State”, mainly under the Conservative Party governments since 2010.
In fact, that weakening of the UK “Welfare State”, though intensified after 2010, had started long before, and was in evidence during the Blair-Brown years 1997-2010. For example, the disgraceful ATOS organization was given its first contracts not by the Conservative Party governments (2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019), but by the Labour governments of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown (1997, 2001, 2005, 2007): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atos#Atos_Healthcare.
People in the UK tend to think that policy is made by individual governments, when in fact there has always been a “deep state” element underneath, carried on in secret, or in semi-secrecy. The influence of, inter alia, freemasonry, Common Purpose, the Jew-Zionist element, the Bilderberg element etc are all part of that. Look at Welfare State policy since, say, 1997. There have been differences between and within parties, but the main themes continued beneath the surface chatter.
As we move to the next significant year, 2022, we see that neither old-style socialism/social democracy nor finance-capitalism satisfies the needs of the people.
A new movement is required, both in the sense of a “party” or political organization, and in the sense of a movement in —and of— society.
“For the welfare of the people is the highest law” [Cicero].
Time moves on
I found this graphic from 2018, not seen for quite a while. It was produced by the Jew-Zionist (and misnamed) “Hope Not Hate” crowd. It shows those who met (in my case, once, at a clifftop cafe, because someone thought reliable had asked me) a young Swede whose real name is said to be Patrik Hermansson, and who posed in 2017 as a Swedish student called Erik Hellberg. Personally, I think that “The Rat” suits him better, but that’s just me…
It will be noted that I was placed, as if a denizen of a contemporary “Inferno“, in the circle of the “holocaust” “deniers” [bottom right of the graphic].
I tend to be rather anti-social both in the ordinary meaning and politically. I do not mix much, in fact scarcely at all. For all that, I can see that political life has moved on in the intervening <2 years.
Some people have become more prominent (Alison Chabloz for one), others have retreated from the limelight: Jez Turner, Stead Steadman, Colin Robertson (“Millennial Woes”) etc. The London Forum is inactive. The “alt-Right” in the USA (as far as I can tell —I do not keep up with all that in detail) has developed a sharper edge, it seems.
The graphic does not of course purport to be a comprehensive map of the “nationalist” side of UK/US politics. As for the work of “The Rat”, he was wasting his time. His paymasters at “Hope Not Hate” eventually produced a film, but it sank like a stone. I think (not sure) that it did get a screening on Channel 4 or Channel 5 around midnight one evening, and the same in Belgium and Sweden. I myself cannot recall seeing it.
The most interesting aspect of that graphic is what is not there: “lone wolves” in the UK and elsewhere, German rural-sanctuary nationalists and national socialists, those setting up a mini-ethnostate in the Pacific North West of the USA etc.

In fact, the behaviour of the pseudo-socialists and “antifa” idiots really highlights the sheer bankruptcy of their socio-political position or stance. They beg to be masked, muzzled, controlled, restricted by the State. They have nothing at all to offer in terms of policy or a way forward for society.
You see the same phenomena in the UK, the “anti-racist” and “antifa” types whose life revolves around trolling people on Twitter, saying negative things about those they deem “fascist” or “neo-Nazi” etc. They know nothing, have no real ideology, and put forward no programme of their own. Politically irrelevant.
Berlin. People of the UK: Why do you think they are protesting? What are you waiting for? Get off the bench and get involved. There will be no 2nd chances. Listened to BBC Radio 4 Profile about Dido Harding: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dido_Harding. Sounds like she is the sort of person who gets into highly paid positions (eg at Talk Talk, where she was paid millions for failure) because of whom she knows rather than what she knows (or does). A modified and female example of the Peter Principle [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle], except that she has been appointed to her present position having serially failed in others. Pathetic country, pathetic government.

Hitchens is right as far as he goes, but fails, once again, to point out that Boris-idiot’s most significant characteristics come not from his few years at Eton (or Oxford) but from the fact that he is part-Jew, part-Turk/Levantine, born in New York City, brought up as child in Washington DC, New York and in Brussels. He is at least half-foreign, in short. Of course “Boris” is not really English in attitude, because he is not really English!
I don’t know why doctors are not speaking out about this.
I can believe (sadly) government and management instructions creating this problem but the doctors, GPs through to cancer specialists, should be appalled by this abdication of care responsibility.
Most NHS doctors are saying nothing because, quite simply, just as Aneurin Bevan said that he had overcome the opposition of the BMA and doctors to the establishment of the NHS by “stuffing their mouths with gold” (relatively high salaries and the chance to do private work on the side etc), Boris-idiot and little Matt Hancock have stuffed the mouth of today’s NHS doctors with more gold, via immediate 4.5% pay rises for less work done…
Interesting early use of face-muzzles(at the lawless Guantanamo camp)extraordinarily similar to those now being forceed on populations of formerly free countries. Nobody can so far explain how these can have a *medical* aim. So what is their purpose? https://t.co/qgsnLJ6iJ7
Hitchens may or may not be aware of it, but Americans have always treated their prisoners, especially political prisoners and/or prisoners of war, very badly. Those suspected of being involved in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln were kept muzzled and with hoods over their heads for months in some cases.

In the very depths of the shutdown(which did no good at all), it really did look for a while as if civilisation had come to an end (see this picture of an untended Radcliffe Square, heart of Oxford University). But what of the impoverished future? pic.twitter.com/GazC6EcQgH
Indian “clever boy”, Rishi Sunak, who was briefly touted as a future UK Prime Minister when he started throwing money around to ameliorate the effects of his own government’s policies, established the “eat out to help out” programme. 50% off, up to £10 a head, I believe. Well, I just heard anecdotal evidence:
A lady I know went to a seaside cafe/restaurant one morning recently. Her purchase was modest, a single cup of coffee. When she went to pay (£2.20), she was told that she only had to pay £1.10 because of that scheme. A woman also waiting to pay then chimed in to the effect that her family now dined out three times a week because it made eating out almost as cheap as eating in.
Well, that lady whose family use restaurants three times a week and get a discount for it may enjoy the scheme, but the whole thing is being paid for by the public as a whole; by the poor too, who may not pay much in income tax but who certainly pay VAT and, if employed, National Insurance.
Why should the people as a whole pay to subsidize the cafe visits and restaurant excursions of the rich, the affluent and the comfortably-off? Like so many government policies now, there is just no logic and no justice behind it.
A very striking piece of architecture, quite exciting, and I do not hate it as much as tweeter “Western Traditionalist”, but I hear what he (or she) says. It is a symptom of cultural decadence, for sure.

Life is hard for independent cinemas, which is a pity. They often feature the sort of films otherwise only found on DVD, video, or (rarely) late-night TV.
As for Meetings with Remarkable Men, well worth seeing:
Another cinema (once a standalone, now part of a small chain and still going) was the Curzon (now the Curzon Mayfair, and part of a small chain), in Curzon Street (London):
It screened (I expect still does screen) films not sufficiently mainstream to be released generally. It screened, on 1985 release, another excellent film, The Shooting Party: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shooting_Party
I recall seeing the cinema at the time it showed that film.
I see what they mean; I was thinking more of the interior as it was, with its delicate glass lamps (creating coloured sidelighting, like a Christmas tree in the dark).
The cinema showed Russian-language films, and I went in an attempt to improve my Russian comprehension.

Britain’s toytown police state in actual operation:
We are living in a society where the most privileged are actually fomenting events: encouraging minor uprisings, by the blacks and others, and preparing to impose a real police state to replace the “toytown” one which has been disguised as anti-“virus” measures. Don’t imagine that voting, in a completely rigged game, or tweeting, or blogging (for that matter) is going to get you anywhere, still less create a better white northern European society.
Coronavirus madness
I wonder how long it will be before the public (and, it seems, government) understand that, in the absence of cure, vaccine or removal of the conditions that spawned it (as with Yellow Fever and mosquitos), you cannot actually stop or wipe out a disease, or a virus, by means of measures such as shutting down shops, stopping people from socializing, preventing travel, making the population wear facemasks or muzzles etc. Maybe never.
The most that can be done is to delay the “wave”. In the UK, that would have involved stopping most incoming flights, quarantining the few passengers arriving, closing pubs, nightclubs and any crowded gatherings such as race meetings. Also, preventing more than a small number of people getting onto buses and Underground/Overground trains. I am talking here about what should have been done back in March or April of this year.
Instead of the above, the government of Boris-idiot closed down much of the economy, propped up much of the rest with vast amounts of borrowed money, and trashed civil rights in the process.
Now we see that this government of (sinister) clowns has insisted that the public wear (probably useless or even dangerous) facemasks to shops (though not in offices or in pubs!), and seems intent on continuing the “fear” propaganda despite the damage which it continues to do to the UK economy.
The fact is that what has happened is that “the virus” is still around, here and there, people continue to get it, most of those people have no or few symptoms (and so are only discovered via useless testing), and the few who do have serious symptoms and so need medical intervention (there is no “treatment”, amounting to “cure”, as such) are taken to hospital anyway.
This is a condition which actually affects, in any serious way, a very small part of the population, perhaps 1%, and which kills far fewer. Indeed, most of those most affected by it and in real danger of death have already been killed by the virus, often sent to their deaths by the government and NHS managers, who wanted to protect NHS staff and some patients, and so shoved the most vulnerable, including patients actually infected, to the very places where more deaths would be caused readily— care homes.
In the times of Stalin, the “experts” and ministers responsible would have been shot.
What has to happen now is that everything has to open up, the economy and society has to start functioning again, and the facemask nonsense has to be done away with. If the Government etc are unwilling to do that, they are either incompetent or malicious, or both.

“Millions of overs 50s could be given orders to stay at home as part of Boris Johnson‘s ‘nuclear plans’ to avoid another national lockdown.” [Daily Mail]
The latest statistics show 4,000 infections per day, but well under 100 deaths per day (yesterday 74, the day before 10, I think; these figures inflated anyway) from or with “the virus”.
It seems that, at present, 1 person dies for every 80-400 persons known to be infected. Many are infected but show no symptoms, so the real figure for the death rate (even taking the deaths figure as accurate) may be 1 death per 5,000 or even 10,000 infected.
It does not surprise me that the ludicrously misnamed SAGE committee (I prefer DUMB— Department Under Matt and Boris) is worried about public disorder. Incidentally, it it their job or their business to worry about that aspect? I think not. I suppose that that is what happens when proper government and administration is replaced by dystopian nonsense from people like Dominic Cummings.
I (like the “Government”) have been surprised to see how compliant and easy to scare and corral and order about the British people have been, but there is (probably) a limit.
The idea that the clown currently posing as Prime Minister can “order” anyone over 50 to “stay home” in a form of house arrest for months, or even years, is absurd. Even leaving aside the legalities, how would that even be enforced?
We have seen how compliant the rabbits of the UK are, but such a measure would certainly be unenforceable. For one thing, there are many who, though over 50, and even over 60 (like me) do not —on a good day!— look over 50. The police cannot check everyone’s age and, in the UK, people do not have to carry any ID or age papers, legally. So will the Handmaid’s Tale militia now used by supermarkets be checking passports at the door? This is unbelievable!
I shall, if such an “order” is ever given, be “49” for the duration, just like an ageing Hollywood actress.
In any case, I doubt whether many shops would actually enforce an “under-50s only” policy, firstly because that would wipe out half their trade (and many would buy as little as possible online to punish those retailers); secondly, such a policy by shops would surely be contra “equalities” laws, though admittedly that was never my area of expertise when I was at the Bar.
The “Government” (of clowns) has painted itself into a corner. Instead of taking sensible and limited measures early, such as stopping most inward flights, shooting “refugees” (migrant-invaders) in the Channel, closing pubs, nightclubs and crowded sporting and other events for the duration or at least for a few months, and stopping the Underground, other train services and other public transport, the idiots ordered the “lockdown” (shutdown of the economy). Result? A collapsing economy and little effect on “the virus”.
The next “policy” made up on the spur of the moment has been the facemask nonsense. “Holland’s top scientists said there’s no solid evidence coverings work and warn they could even damage the fight against Covid-19” [Daily Mail, 2 August 2020]
“Kate Nicholls, of Hospitality UK, which represents pubs, restaurants and hotels, said shutting down ‘large chunks of the economy’ was a short-sighted strategy.
‘We need to be focusing on collective efforts to drive down and control infections,’ she said, adding that the hospitality industry directly employs 3.2 million, with another two million reliant through supply chains. ‘It’s simply too big to just switch off.
‘We would be talking about millions of people unemployed, a major loss of economic activity.‘” [Daily Mail]
One problem is that the people giving the ludicrous “orders” are people who have never actually run anything much, starting with part-Jew public entertainer Boris-idiot; then we have little Matt Hancock (did a year or so as a graduate teaboy at the Bank of England), Gavin Williamson (once a fireplace salesman with a pet spider), Dominic Cummings (tried to set up an airline in Russia 25 years ago; it failed after one flight); and let’s not forget the ivory tower merchants, Chris Whitty and idiotic Professor Ferguson (who said that 800,000 would die in the UK, and who broke his own rules by letting his married “ho” visit him during “lockdown”).
What a bunch of clowns! And we the people are expected to obey their confused and quite possibly unlawful decrees? Screw that.

Watch carefully the almost sinister abolition of personal liberty in Melbourne, Australia. The increasingly despotic Al Johnson may well be thinking of copying it. The greatest attacks on liberty are taking place in Anglosphere countries which previously took it for granted.
The mask is really coming off now. The “English gent” persona carefully crafted by Johnson since he was about 12 is now being replaced by the part-Jew, part-Turk charlatan playing the despot. That comes naturally to him. Johnson after all is not really English. As said, a part-Jew, part-Turk, born in New York City, brought up in the USA and Belgium until sent to Eton and Oxford to acquire the fake “English toff” persona (mask). Hard to say whether his patent inability to actually be an effective Prime Minister is an aggravating factor or a blessing in disguise.
Without going into the rights and wrongs, on the face of it this is more than a disturbing report about one particular case. It seems to show the way the police are going in the UK. Only 2 months ago, persecuted singer-songwriter Alison Chabloz had her bedroom invaded quite early in the morning by a whole crowd of (mostly non-white) police “officers”.
The “police state” in the UK may be a “toytown” one at present, usually, but it is clear where this is going.
Bars and pubs are the most likely places in which to transmit or get infected by “the virus”, so what does the government of clowns order? Pubs and bars can stay open and the customers can sit, drink, talk, shout or whatever without the requirement to wear a facemask or muzzle; but go next door to the supermarket and it’s “facemasks on or else!”. When did Britain become a country of scared unthinking rabbits ruled by clowns? I supposed that, like the Fall of the Roman Empire, it happened bit by bit, and almost unnoticed.
Imagine, a little pissant like Robert Jenrick posing as a Cabinet minister! Then again, Boris-idiot as Prime Minister…This whole situation veers between tragedy and farce.
As usual, unsurprising. A government of clowns, and an official Opposition which weakly supports (with mild carping) whatever the clowns are doing. Result? In a situation where the polled are asked which of the “main parties” (in which select group is included, ludicrously, the all-but-dead LibDem party) they support, people just say one or the other of Con or Lab, without conviction, without interest, despising both almost equally.

We never know what will happen in life. “Prepping” may not be as silly as many imagine…
I wonder whether many people would have imagined, say a year ago, that the UK government would shut down much of the economy, tell most people to stay at home unless shopping, and have the police going around harassing lone sunbathers on beaches, and elderly couples walking on the fells of the Peak District? Or that the entire population would be told to wear facemasks in shops etc, though not in pubs? Or on trains and buses, but not in offices?
Likewise, who would have thought, a year ago, that so-called “refugees” would be escorted across the Channel and put up in 4-star hotels (and given money on top) by the tough-talking “Conservative” government? Or that those detained ready to be deported would all be released?! Not many, I think.
How many of the over-50s, who were the ones that mainly voted “Conservative” in 2019, would have thought then that their being put under house arrest indefinitely would be a subject for serious discussion by the very government they had voted into unmerited office? Not many, I think.
TUI
So Tui is going to close down 166 travel agency shops. I suppose that that must add up to about 1,000 people losing their jobs. Tui is owned mainly by a Russian; for once a real one, not a Jew, but that has not improved his behaviour. He is supposedly worth USD $20 billion, and is the 4th-richest individual in Russia, yet in 2001, when already a billionaire, was paying only $600 a month to keep his ex-wife and their son alive…
Few in Russia would want the old Soviet system back, particularly the unfree sneaking and spying system run by the KGB (mainly the Second Chief Directorate), but the present system of oligarchy and near kleptocracy cannot last forever. Too many inequalities and, worse, too many inequities.
Of course, Tui closing its doors (only the offline ones) is not really a function of the Russian economy but solely of the UK one, meaning the mad “lockdown” shutdown.
Yes, it is slowly sinking in that we shall never be free again but can at any time be yanked back into mass house arrest and economic destruction on the basis of cooked figures. Look at Melbourne now. It will be the same in a major British city before next Spring. https://t.co/b21qhETUxl
Yes. We are all used (in theory) to the idea of the “police state”, in which the state, and/or a dictator, tyrant, despot or fanatical political party imposes rule by force and penal laws.
What is so diabolically cunning about the present situation is that the public has in effect been scammed; fear has been weaponized. Not fear of the State or the police or the law, but of “the virus”. A fairly serious public health problem has been blown up into a deadly plague by which people will be killed.
Once the population internalized that fear, the other measures, such as police control, fines, social pressure, simply reinforced the feeling of social obedience or compliance.
Worse still @martindale567 is the almost total lack of protest or even intelligent examination of the facts by those who once regarded themselves as radicals and sceptics. I am very close to despair. I see nothing but twilight ahead. https://t.co/DR88tcqBhB
Is this https://t.co/9hY3UwSVNG what we in Britain face at the hands of Kim Jong Son, who is all too plainly enjoying the despotic powers he has granted himself (and which Parliament, Opposition, judiciary and most of the media have utterly failed to challenge)?
I have had my differences with Quentin Letts but this superb, merciless sketch, on Al 'Boris' Johnson's increasing delusions of autocratic grandeur, is worth the price of buying your way through the paywall of 'The Times': https://t.co/qI1Ca64GnK
Just one “small” news story, one that did not get much reported in the national Press or on TV news…
We are sad to announce that Birmingham Museums Trust has entered a period of redundancy consultations as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Around half of our staff have been placed at risk of redundancy.
— Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (@BM_AG) July 24, 2020
“Niels de Vos, chair of the trust, said: “Since April a large proportion of our staff have been furloughed and with this scheme coming to an end, we sadly can’t save everyone’s jobs. Only when visitor numbers and spend return to pre-coronavirus levels will our business model break even again.”
Visitor numbers will never return to pre-panic levels while those visitors are forced to wear facemasks. Forget it.
I wonder how many other “small” stories, unreported stories, there are right now, stories about 100, 200 or however many people losing their jobs, unable soon to pay rents, make mortgage payments etc… and mainly because of the present government’s panicked reaction to the “Coronavirus.
10 deaths (from or with “the virus”) out of 65 to 70 MILLION people…
The more testing a country does the more “cases” will be found. It’s all but irrelevant. There is no country I know of where mortality is rising. https://t.co/d6112LxglH
The BBC has just reported that about 16 million people worldwide are thought to have been infected with (almost all not died with) Coronavirus since the scare started. That is about 1 person out of every 500. Not died from or with; been infected with. The death rate overall (which has varied wildly from country to country) seems to be around 2% of those infected. So, on that basis, 1 person out of every 25,000 people in the world has died with (partly from?) “the virus”, so far.
That tweeter, “@CanuckUK”, personifies the mentally unstable type that goes around masked even when the law —supposed “law”; it may not be lawful (valid), in fact— does not require it. I even saw a photo from a few months ago showing some stupid woman wearing full barrier-nursing kit: swathed in plastic from head to foot! What was she doing that required such protection? Working in an intensive care ward? No. Shopping in what looked like Oxford Street!
Boris-idiot and his latest idiocies
Boris-idiot (that clown presently posing as Prime Minister of the UK) has just announced more stupid policies and proposed laws. For one thing, he and his ministers have imposed a quarantine on visitors from Spain (and that includes returning Brit holidaymakers). Result? Apart from misery and inconvenience for those presently there on holiday or booked to go there, the likely collapse of the package holiday and airline industries.
I have to say that I find it odd that anyone actually wants to holiday in Spain at present. The “lockdown” and facemask nonsense has been far stricter in Spain than in the UK (which makes one wonder why Spain has had a “surge” in cases anyway, in view of the months of facemask muzzle-wearing and strict “lockdown”…We are told that such measures prevent such surges…).
I hear that in Spain, at present, a visit to a restaurant means wearing a facemask even at the table unless actually eating! I view the whole idea as somewhere between Monty Python and the Twilight Zone. Suffice to say that I shall not be going to Spain or anywhere else under such conditions. I doubt that I am alone in this. Then quarantine for 2 weeks on return? Forget it.
Who now will book a holiday or trip anywhere? The crowd of clowns posing as a government in the UK (backed by their “experts”— you remember, those medics and scientists who said that 800,000 might die in the UK…) are quite likely, soon, to quarantine arrivals from other countries as well, not just Spain.
About 90,000 people work for UK-based airlines; about 77,000 work for travel agencies, tour companies etc. There are still over 4,000 travel agency shops in the UK.
I wonder what the figures will be in 2021 and 2022?
Reverting to Boris-idiot’s government, little Matt Hancock has announced new health measures in respect of obesity. Certainly a serious issue (in fact, I could stand losing a few stone myself!), but these measures are either underwhelming or silly.
For example, restaurants will be compelled to have the calorie-count of each dish marked on the menu. That might work for businesses where the menus never or hardly ever change, such as fish and chip shops, McDonald’s etc, but in a restaurant with a changing menu, it places a huge burden (and so cost) on the restaurant.
I can see most restaurants closing down: fewer customers, more costs, less profit…Same with pubs.
These measures (laid down by Boris-idiot and his crew) show the clear signs of having come from people who really have little knowledge or understanding of how people think, of how businesses work (and that does include Indian “clever boy” Rishi Sunak), or of how to dig themselves out of the hole into which they have dug the UK.
I always said, from when the “virus” scare started, that there would not be a “V”-shaped recovery, but something like an “L”-shaped non-recovery. The “experts” mostly disagreed (then) but I feel even more certain that the economy is about to tank. The facemask nonsense just adds an extra burden.

USA. UK. Two very different countries, but with some similar trends and problems. I have lived in the USA, long ago, and am legally qualified there (Bar of the State of New York), but my main focus is the UK.
Looking at the UK, it is clear that there is really no functioning “democracy” worthy of the name (nor a population capable of sustaining one). All the trends that I see point toward an eventual culture war, which might become a kind of civil war.
Twitter
Seems that most aggressive Jews and their dupes or slaves have decided to boycott Twitter for 48 hours. The air seems fresher already!
Incidentally, I notice that one such boycotter is Layla Moran, the buck-toothed lesbian (she prefers “pansexual”) who is the latest leader of the fading LibDem rump.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layla_Moran.
What makes Layla Moran’s kow-towing noteworthy is that she is half-Palestinian.
[update: same day: a reader of this blog corrects me to say that Layla Moran is not yet LibDem leader. Quite right. My mistake. She is only the candidate most likely to win at present. What does it say about the LibDems, though, that it has taken them 7 or 8 months to elect a leader and yet are still not there? Pathetic rabble.]
The meaning of numbers
We are hearing about upsurges in Coronavirus. These are being used to justify police-state measures in the UK and elsewhere. Strange times. The “upsurge” is entirely (certainly entirely in Europe) because testing is being done now on a fairly wide scale.
Yes, more people are now “officially” infected, simply because more people are being tested. Many show no symptoms; most, in fact, require no treatment; none, or almost none, will die or even become seriously unwell.
The actual number of deaths from (or even with) Coronavirus is dropping not only in the UK but worldwide. In the UK it is now down at or below 10 individuals per day, even on the basis that anyone dying with Coronavirus is deemed to die of Coronavirus.
Despite the above, BBC Today Programme and other shows preferred not to focus on the fact that the death rate is close to zero. Oh no, their choice was to feature some Scottish pilot who was hospitalized while flying for an airline in Vietnam!
The said Scottish pilot was the only patient in Vietnam likely to die of/with Coronavirus. and the Vietnamese were desperate to save him, and did. He was unlucky to have become infected, but the fact is that the unfortunate fellow is a statistical freak. He is now slowly recovering in the UK.
The BBC used the above case to claim (as did the unfortunate pilot) that Coronavirus is a huge threat to everyone, whereas it can be seen that that Scottish pilot was a one in a million or one in a hundred thousand statistical anomaly.
34% of primary school pupils in England are now from an “ethnic minority” (the vast majority non-white). Scroll on 39 years. What then? 50%? More?
This is the “Great Replacement”, or “White Genocide” if you like. Most MPs, msm drones, others too, are evil criminals who have deliberately caused this existential crisis.
Or so England was, before it became a toytown police state…

We in the UK are now living under a repressive “elected” dictatorship. That would be bad enough were that all it is; however, it is also incompetent, and to a degree hard to believe even after the experience of the past 10 years.
The shutting-down of freedom of expression
“Tartan Pakistani” shutting down freedom of expression in Scotland:
It can easily be seen that this whole “Coronavirus” thing (more precisely, the government’s “lockdown” shutdown) has destroyed ordinary radical or social-national political life. Political meetings, even small ones, are effectively banned, as are the traditional means of spreading a message, such as rallies and demonstrations (though the System has accommodated the nonsense of the “Black Lives Matter” swine).
In fact, the latest “measures” from the government of Boris-idiot give even local authorities the power to shut down whole tracts of the country and whole cities on “health” grounds. Don’t tell me that such powers cannot be and will not be abused.
They will never be used irresponsibly, it's as if people think they'll use these powers like they use the RIPA act to surveil beach dog walkers or something. That almost never happens!
— President-Elect Paul (@TheDigitalAdvan) July 17, 2020
To quote the Bard, “Aye, there’s the rub”…even I was surprised at the zeal and relish with which Britain’s mostly rather ineffective toytown police took to their new role as bulliers of lone sunbathers, solitary swimmers and retired couples walking their dogs on beaches or in national parks.
The barking of “orders” through megaphones from inside police jeeps and helicopters, the deliberate polluting of a Derbyshire “blue lagoon” (to deter visitors), the drones following elderly fell-walkers so that the real “Covidiots”, the police, might then “shame” (as the police thought in their little brains) those walkers by having the footage posted on Twitter or Facebook.
The present government may be one composed of idiots but, thanks to an 80-seat majority in the Commons (and the absence of any effective Opposition there), the Government rules supreme. Indeed, there is more dissent from disenchanted Conservative Party people than there is from Keir Starmer’s joke “Labour” official Opposition (Jewish lobby Potemkin village), which merely supports the Government and tries to put a gloss on whatever that government orders.
Analysis, propaganda, and reasoned argument are all very well (and I engage that way myself, mainly now via this blog) but in the end, I think that we know that Europe is not going to be saved by such methods, however necessary and inescapable they are.
I make no claim to 'objectivity' @robinsall. I'm plainly biased against incompetence and stupidity, disproportionate action, mindless conformism and the bossiness of jacks-in-office such as Mat Hang Kok. If 4 million unemployed by 2021 is the figure these clowns are suggesting, then 8 million may not be inconceivable. This is or should be the great moment for a social-national breakthrough in 2022 or so. Yet there is no real social national party or movement in the UK.
I leave aside (as blogged about previously) the few clowns and “movements” that do exist at present in the UK.
Rudolf Steiner, I believe it was (it may have been Valentin Tomberg), who talked about the dilemma of people in these times in such terms as “I feel that I cannot do that which I must do…“. That is how I feel. The necessity is there and recognized, but the ways and means of doing what is necessary are not there…
I feel and recognize and know what is required, but have not the means (in terms of the old British song “…we’ve got the ships…we’ve got the men…we’ve got the money too!”).
Perhaps the way will be made clear. At the age of 63, I do not have the luxury of waiting for years for the right moment to arrive. A new movement must come, one credible enough and powerful enough to do what it takes…
Never give money to System “charities” such as this one, “Red Nose Day”, or Save the Children (where the chief people running it get up to £300,000 a year). One was Brendan Cox, the sex pest/rapist whose wife was Jo Cox, assassinated MP. They are, to a large extent, scams. Give money to animal charities such as the Brooke Hospital for Animals, or Cats Protection. Or give directly to needy people and animals via GoFundMe etc.https://uk.gofundme.com/f/life-changing-chronic-pain-surgery or similar.

Even if many are anti-Peking dissidents, the fact is that (combined with the nearly half million already here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Chinese_immigration_to_the_United_Kingdom) the Chinese population of the UK might well be as many as 5 million by 2040. About 7% of the population. From the point of view of Peking, job done, strategically…
What “they” say
“A Government report on extremism during the coronavirus pandemic has highlighted far-right activists’ calls to “infect Jews” as well as five different ways antisemites have blamed Jews for spreading the virus.” [Jewish News]
“...individuals such as David Icke played “a significant role in spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories linked to Covid-19” [Jewish News]
“Although Icke was successfully de-platformed from YouTube and Facebook, the scale and reach of his antisemitic conspiracy theories remains extremely concerning,” the report’s authors said.” [Jewish News]
Get that. A “government report” (not really) from the so-called “Commission for Countering Extremism” [“CCE”], says outright, in its bias, that David Icke was “successfully deplatformed” from YouTube and Facebook.
This “Commission” is rather uninfluential, and was set up under Theresa May as Prime Minister. She of course was totally under the thumb of the Jewish lobby. Still, it is striking how biased it is, talking about how Icke was “successfully deplatformed” etc. No pretence of objectivity. In fact, its existence is merely one example of how governments waste money. I expect that the present government would like to bin this fake “Commission” and its useless “Lead Commissioner” (one Sara Khan), but cannot think of a plausible way to bin it and her.

Not only have all (I think) the pop-up “Nightingale Hospitals” closed, mostly without ever having been used, but even the Coronavirus/Covid-19 testing centres are now closing for lack of use; yet this Government of idiots ploughs on with its fear propaganda, and enforcement of muzzles for people (facemasks) etc. Result? Destruction of what is left of the economy, particularly the retail sector.
One of the reasons why charities are such a “rotten borough” in the UK is because their funding (in some cases) comes only partly from members of the public, but also comes from government funds, or from the National Lottery (the “Good Causes Fund”).
In other words, the charity sector is pervaded by the sort of Common Purpose drones you see on Twitter. This is why you get quite mediocre people (eg at Save the Children) heading charities and being paid £300,000 a year. This is also why you get the sex scandals, as with sex pest/rapist Brendan Cox etc. Because the charities have guaranteed income provided via people embedded in government, quangos etc, which people belong to the same cabals.

Below, a shop standing up against facemask tyranny:
The “Covid-19″/Coronavirus scare: much of this is actually a ZOG/NWO scam. Not all. Much.
Not at all surprising, meshes with much else I have heard, read and seen, but very interesting to see it in this form and from this source @SimonDolanhttps://t.co/lDLZyL5J0S
Yes @AliJHaines, it is strange that the government thinks its latest muzzle edict will *increase* the already tragucally weak amount of trade in the shops. Most people don't *like* being pestered. https://t.co/TabSBV8rIC
It does highlight the poverty of thought in and around government that the idiots actually seem to believe that forcing everyone to be muzzled or masked will increase footfall in shops! The reasoning seems to be that shoppers will feel more confident and safe. No. It’s like when you are at, say, Heathrow, and smug, stupid-looking police are stalking around with their Heckler & Koch MP5 and other weapons. Does that make you feel “safer”? No. It makes you think “what might happen in the event of a terrorist incident?“
In other words, the armed police at airports, in reality, do the opposite of reassuring most members of the public. Is that ignorance on the part of the public? Maybe not; I mean, if terrorists suddenly launched an attack, what would the heavily-armed police do? Open fire in some place as crowded as were (before “the virus” almost wiped out civil aviation) the Heathrow or Gatwick passenger terminals? I sincerely hope not!
Reverting to the facemask curse, my guess is that most people will be shopping online for things. The shops and department stores are going to be empty or almost empty because of the facemask nonsense, because of the residual thought that they just might pick up “the virus” (unlikely though that is) and finally because, soon at least, most people are going to have a great deal less money to spend in shops.
You couldn’t make it up! Thick-as-two-short-planks Priti Patel, posing as Home Secretary. “unveils” her great plan to save Britain from Coronavirus brought in by tourists and others:
The elephant in the room is why on Earth the airports and seaports were not closed long ago now, in February or March. Talk about “shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted”! It is almost pointless to do anything now.
Normally, i.e. before and maybe after “Coronavirus”, about 100,000 visitors a day enter the UK. It seems that at least 100,000 but possibly as many as 800,000 visitors have entered the UK since the “lockdown” nonsense was implemented a couple of months ago.
As to the new “quarantine” measures, how absurd they are!
“Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has already described the plans as “idiotic” and “unimplementable,” and Airlines UK said they “would effectively kill” international travel to and from Britain.” [The Guardian]
Quite. So almost all of the arrivals by air (and sea, presumably) will be asked to provide an address in the UK at which they will “self-quarantine” for 14 days, on pain of a £1,000 fine? The police will, we are told, spot-check.
This is mere window-dressing. Completely unworkable. Let us say tha, on any given day at present, 15,000 people enter the UK (that is the Government’s own figure; the true figure may be twice that number). So those 15,000 all give, on arrival, a UK address at which they will be “self-isolating”. How many of those can be checked (even once) by the police within the 14 days? 100? 1,000?
A single policeman might be able to check 10 per day, arguably. So even to check a thousand of the fifteen thousand would take about 100 policemen. To check all 15,000 (once) would take 1,500 policemen. To check those 15,000 visitors twice, 3,000 policemen, working only on that job.
The Government in fact does not claim that all will be checked, even once. They say, “spot-checked”. So will only, say, 1,000 of the (Government’s low estimate of) 15,000 daily arrivals be checked (once)? Even that seems unlikely. 100 policemen….
Indeed, what do the fines, if any are levied, do? Nothing (except add £1,000 to police or central funds). Presumably the defaulters, if any, will not (if located before their planned departure dates) be deported, which would by then be pointless anyway (and in fact all the UK’s immigration-detention facilities have been closed by reason of “the virus”, leaving the formerly-incarcerated aliens to roam around as they please).
In terms of deterring those arriving from moving around as they please in the fortnight after arrival, the proposed checks and fines are akin to drink-driving: stiff penalties if caught, but the chances are, that if you only do it once or twice, or a few times, you will not be caught.
Are these “spot-checks” and possible fines even a deterrent? A little, perhaps. What they do do, though, and severely, is to deter from visiting the UK anyone who does not have a compelling and indeed unavoidable reason for coming. I cannot see many tourists, or business travellers for that matter, coming to the UK knowing that for the first 14 days they will be cooped up in their hotels, and checked by the police at that, and fined if they have moved to another hotel (eg if the first one was not to their liking).
This “plan” is typical of thick chancers such as Priti Patel, Iain Dunce Duncan Smith (not guilty in this case, but guilty in so many others…), Little Matt Hancock etc. Not to mention Boris-idiot. These political careerist chancers have no idea. They’re hopeless.

The international travel and tourism business in the UK is finished for 2020 and possibly 2021. Hotels, airlines, travel websites etc.
More “enrichment” of the UK’s (once) white Northern European society…

When we look into the future of the UK, do we want it to be an advanced, high-IQ, high-education, prosperous and cultured country, cohesive nation, and ethnostate, or do we want it to be a multikulti, bottom-of-barrel banana republic (with or without a fantasy “royal family” sitting on the peak of the rubbish-tip)?
Peter Hitchens
Some of my readers have been taken aback by my recent reposting of a large number of tweets by Peter Hitchens. This was not done because I agree with Peter Hitchens about everything, but because I agree with much of what he has had to say recently about Coronavirus, “lockdown”, economic shutdown; also, re. Government policy and behaviour.
I have blogged about Hitchens himself in the past:
At least, I disagree with tweeter “@jona77”, above. If a “wealth tax” is “legalized theft”, then so is that amount of national economic value pumped (via governmental policy, tax policy etc over decades) into such things as, and primarily, private house values.
All but a tiny minority of those who actually have any wealth in the UK have most of it tied up in their house or houses. They themselves did not create such wealth (leaving aside improvements such as house-extensions); the wealth was created largely by the artificially-contrived expansion of value, a result of the policies of governments since, mainly, the 1970s. Margaret Thatcher turbo-charged it.
The value pumped into the real property sector in Britain has, of necessity, taken away value from other sectors.
In other words, if a “wealth tax” (which I do not necessarily support) is “theft”, then so is much of the value that might be “stolen” (taxed). I suppose that that observation is not original, not new. After all “property is theft” [Proudhon], arguably: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Property_is_theft!
As someone who has been cheated, most of his life, I find myself not very sympathetic to the “plight” of the inheritees, trustafarians, buy-to-let parasites, and the sharp-elbowed and property-owning Middle Englanders who always vote “Conservative” (even after that party has changed out of all recognition).
On the other hand, I am certainly in agreement with Hitchens here:
The state of the economy is terrifying. But to acknowledge this is to recognise that the government is engaged in a mad policy of self-harm. Much easier to go on and and on about testing, and have another drink. https://t.co/ynfYnoQNxy
If the SNP and some Welsh MPs do not wish to attend the Commons, that is their choice and their decision, no one else’s. They are not “barred” by the perfidious English.
The NHS is of course the pleasant face of the new Strong State. The Government Militia which has replaced the police, and the rapacious new tax authorities who will patrol our increasingly cash-free society will be less loveable. https://t.co/XyHpi8obtK
“I have often thought that many of the stupid actions taken by British governments over the past few decades, from joining the Common Market and abolishing police foot patrols to the destruction of the grammar schools, are so mad that they can only be rationally explained as deliberate sabotage.
The same goes for the fervent dedication of the BBC and much of the press to any cause that would undermine tradition, morality, marriage and manners.” [Peter Hitchens, in the Daily Mail]
Note: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, often described —by Jew scribblers, by the msm, by (((approved))) Wikipedia editors— as “a forgery”, is really literary fantasy, which however mirrors actual fact and real events. Poetische Freiheit or literarische Fantasie, if you like.
Are you still there @andyrossecon? Haven't you noticed that 98% of newspaper pundits are in *favour* of the panic, or indifferent to it. Why would you therefore think it mercenary of me to take the position I have embraced? https://t.co/50tI4lx0wu
“Coronavirus lockdowns have failed to alter the course of the pandemic but have instead ‘destroyed millions of livelihoods’, a JP Morgan study has claimed.
Falling infection rates since lockdowns were lifted suggest that the virus ‘likely has its own dynamics’ which are ‘unrelated to often inconsistent lockdown measures’, a report published by the financial services giant said.” [Daily Mail]

The disastrous “lockdown” nonsense
“More than 30,000 pubs, bars and restaurants may remain permanently closed because the coronavirus shutdown has sent a wrecking ball through the UK’s hospitality trade.” [The Guardian]
So that’s about 300,000 more people on the dole thanks to Boris-idiot, “financial genius” Rishi Sunak, and the rest of the Cabinet of clowns.

No, of course he @honkytonkcliff can't @basel_big . The problem for a lot of people is that, thanks to near-unanimity on media, they have never heard the counter-arguments on the virus policy, and are disoriented when they do. https://t.co/NFFTptNXaj
No @matthaig1, I say it is down to geography. Antarctica, The Falklands, Pitcairn, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha, Ascension and Rockall have, I believe, had similar 'success' to NZ in containing the virus, but nobody cares as they don't also have the world's wokest Prime Minister. https://t.co/OhtkQlA68M
Lord Sumption and I are right @lindal19376868 . Both of us use facts and reason, rather than emotion, to make our cases. But modern Britain is more ready to listen to @piersmorgan Piers, and he has a far better platform. Which is why we are where we are. https://t.co/pVGBQFwI9j
…and I noticed today (while in Waitrose) that that cretin, Littlejohn, was writing a rant in some trash “newspaper” about how UK beaches, parks etc should stay “locked down”. The cretin doesn’t even live in the UK anymore, but in Florida!
If prisoners were treated like the way they're planning to treat primary #school kids, it would be declared cruel & unusual punishment.
Monstrously mean. Parents should homeschool with traditional values to bring these liberal fearmongers to heel.https://t.co/CK0x8ofAEr
