Tomorrow, 12 August 2021, Alison Chabloz will be at Southwark Crown Court to attend her appeal against her conviction and sentence (handed down at Westminster Mags.).
I had thought that the appeal would take the form of a full rehearing, but it seems that Alison and/or her legal advisers have decided to limit the appeal to certain legal points. This would mean that, while the Court has discretion, should the appeal fail, to impose an even greater sentence (to 6 months max) than the 18 weeks originally imposed, such a course would be unlikely to be taken.
In any case, even were the Court to impose a maximum 6-month sentence, that in reality would mean three months (if that), and Alison has already served two.
I shall post the result as and when I am aware of it. In the meantime, I wish Alison Chabloz good fortune in her appeal.

The big move at last: I was wondering how long it would be in coming. This is at least a major part of the push towards the NWO/ZOG post-2022 society of the next 33+ years. The System controlling the very life and livelihood of all humans, starting with the advanced Western societies.
It may not work out as they think, though. The same forces made a different push as 1989 approached (an attempt to abolish old-style socialism, capitalize the Soviet Union, China etc, destroy Arab/Muslim power and all geopolitical enemies of Israel).
That plan succeeded in part, but not completely.
The Soviet Union was broken up and “capitalized”, and China was “capitalized” (though not entirely, in that the State retained the overall control; also, a nationalist element was retained).

I would not oppose such a programme if it were voluntary. The population is largely overweight and largely sedentary. I myself am now a prime example, if truth be known. The days when I trekked miles, sometimes dozens of miles in a day, through landscapes such as the African bush, Welsh and English countryside, and the Tien Shan mountains, have long long gone! That ended old-style socialism as a serious force in world affairs. Yes, some actions preceded 1989, and a few remnants of the old world order persisted after 1989; a few still do, here and there: tiny or backward states such as North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela. Yes, China still (ludicrously) labels itself as a socialist country ruled by a Communist party, but the reality is quite other.

I have blogged about Paul Mason previously. When he writes about economics, he can be interesting, but when he writes or speaks about politics, he is ludicrous. Another myth is that a scientist is, ipso facto, honest. We have seen enough fakery around the “climate change” narrative to have a different view. I was in Australia for 3 years in the late 1960s, and attended school there (Middle Harbour PS and North Sydney Boys’ High). My 20-something Australian niece (working in London) contracted the virus last year, but only required a few paracetomol tablets and a few weeks of rest. I know of no-one else at all who has knowingly contracted “Covid-19”.

Waitrose foray
Having had a few things to do today, I called into Waitrose in early evening. Still quite a few rabbits walking around muzzled, even in the car park. I had, earlier, even seen a couple of idiots driving around in facemasks!
I noticed that the black-clad Handmaid’s Tale militiaman was no longer deployed outside (or inside). Only a notice urged the rabbits to “take care of others” or some such.
In the store itself, the shoppers seemed to be split: 95% stupid rabbits still complying with the now-defunct facemask nonsense “law”, and a very few like me, happily maskless. Almost all those wearing masks were wearing the cloth ones, which are not even marginally effective.
As to the staff, about half wearing masks, even more than before. In fact I noticed one staff member who had had a few conversations with me (and was very anti-mask), now wearing one, which makes me wonder whether Waitrose has suddenly more or less ordered staff to wear them.

Very true. I have argued all my life against idiots who thought that Marxist-Leninist or derivative regimes in the Soviet Union, Cuba, North Vietnam, Nicaragua, and now Venezuela were decent and worth supporting.
As far as Cuba is concerned, the sort of people who even now support it are (generalizing wildly) like the NHS doctor whose cottage near Totnes I was once (2001) thinking of renting. She could not show me the place because, I was told, she is “cycling in Cuba”. Cuba is revered by some because it trains vast numbers of health professionals, who are then ordered to work in other countries so that Cuba can get foreign exchange, or barter goods.
As for the British and other mugs who supported the Cuban-inspired Sandinistas in the 1980s, they are still around, those that never woke up (to reality, not “wokeness”), and now support Venezuela, “Black Lives Matter” etc. Nicaragua itself is now suffering under the ex-Sandinista rebel, Ortega, and is a complete mess, but the “woke” idiots have other idols these days.

Socialism of the old type has frozen Cuba in time, to an extent that even the Soviet Union was not. Occasionally one sees TV people doing travel shows about Cuba. I think that Michael Portillo did one mainly about Cuba’s shambolic trains; Chris Tarrant certainly did.
Cuba’s trains are apparently kept going by all sorts of weird and wonderful methods, rather like those “iconic” 1950s American cars that ferry tourists around Havana.
Havana itself is falling to pieces. Occasionally, buildings just collapse after decades of little or no maintenance.
To some extent, I can see why some British, other European, American, people “support” Cuba: it has stood its ground against its superpower neighbour, it has its own identity etc. Other people have felt that way about other small and embattled states: Rhodesia, Israel, Taiwan, even North Korea. However, that is a sentimental attachment (if any) better indulged from a distance.
Cuba is basically a shambles. Admittedly, I myself have only seen it directly from the air (overflying from Tampa, Florida, to Grand Cayman), and from the sea (between Cuba and Jamaica).
My only contact with Cuban bureaucracy was when some British and expat Iranian scientists asked me to help find a sponsor for their biofuel project (I called it, to myself, “making gold out of straw”). A couple of countries were interested. This was in or about 1995.
The Ukrainian Ambassador in London even accompanied me (in his rather nice chauffeur-driven Lexus limousine) to Porton Down research centre (Wiltshire) one day, to meet with the team at their labs. That led to nothing, but at least the Ukrainians were interested. The Cuban Ambassador did not even reply to my letter! That despite the fact that Cuba would have been ideal— a country in need of fuel, with a huge quantity of otherwise unusable biomass (sugar cane detritus), and with a large cadre of scientifically-trained labour. Useless. Well, there it is…
