Younger seems entirely unaware that, even now, the UK seems (not to me, but to most of the British people, meaning real British people) not worth defending. What does Younger think the UK will be like by, say, 2034? 2044?

Incidentally, it is no answer to say that the agreement of the conscripted is unnecessary; enlistment of the unwilling usually produces poor results.

Younger seems to be part of that UK pseudo-elite at the top of UK affairs which is so featherbedded and isolated from reality—reality as most people experience it in this country— that the same (self-regarding) “elite” constantly get it wrong in every way.

I am sure that Matt Goodwin reads this blog! More seriously (though I think that he does read it), I have been saying what he is now saying for at least 18 months, maybe longer. As on numerous other occasions, the blog has been well ahead of the curve.

Good point (about Labour), but GE 2024 will be more about judging the Con Party record than supporting the underwhelming Lab promises.

As for Brexit, it might have worked had it been done properly, and still could, were there a real British government in place, and one willing to treat with Russia. Britain could have very cheap oil and gas, and an open market.

I have no idea who the bimbo is, presumably some sort of “journalist” (scribbler). The fall of journalism in this country has been one of the most disappointing developments during my lifetime, I should say.

Twitter/X is now full of idiots saying that Lydon is “wrong“, “gammon“, a “hypocrite” (because his family was Irish—as if that is equivalent to being a Congolese or Afghan…) etc.

All one has to do is remember that active Twitter/X is a very small world (perhaps 1% of the British people, and very atypical, which is why its “woke” apparent majority always gets it wrong politically, from the result of the Brexit Referendum to Trump’s first Presidential election to (you name it).

Amazing that people are somehow surprised at all. The economy was deliberately (and for no good reason) largely shut down for two years, and by Government decree, during which time millions of people were paid to stay home watching TV, or drinking, or paid to work (at well below peak capacity) from home.

At the same time, and over recent years, half a million to a million useless parasites per year, from all over the world, have been imported to the UK as fake “students”, “high-skilled workers” (Indians who can work a computer), “family members”, fake fiances/fiancees etc, and/or allowed to stay having come here illegally on small boats. Most of them supported entirely from Government funds.

That is in addition to vast sums wasted otherwise during the panicdemic/scamdemic: “test and trace”, “PPE” etc.

Britain continues to go down, both economically and socially. Look at the cities: people sleeping in the streets, which are overrun anyway with unwanted migrant hordes from all over the world. In the countryside, the roads are like those I recall from driving in Bulgaria and Greece etc 20-25 years ago; potholed, poorly-surfaced and, unlike those of Bulgaria or Turkey decades ago, overcrowded.

Then look at the UK’s police (who prefer to snoop on bloggers and Twitter/X accounts rather than do their proper job), or the NHS (which is almost a skeleton service).

Oh, and the Jew Shapps was in Kiev on Thursday, throwing more British taxpayer monies at Zelensky’s brutal, corrupt, and shambolic dictatorship, which is about to be flattened by a Russian steamroller.

The Jew Shapps is both mendacious and, at the same time, a total clown. Ukraine (Kiev regime) in fact cannot “win” against Russia, even to the extent of “taking back” Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts. If there were even a possibility of it, Russia could and probably would flatten all major Ukrainian cities.

Shapps is, of course, also lying when he calls Ukraine “a democracy“. I also tend to think that someone who can damage a valuable and historically-significant painting is probably capable of doing a great deal worse.

I just saw, on Sky News, a few minutes of Sunday-something-or-other with Trevor Phillips. Like a caricature of “the great replacement” [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Replacement].

The presenter [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_Phillips] a black man from Guyanese origins, and the three commentators also of non-European origin: a mixed-race (?) youngish man, a possibly Chinese (?) woman, and another woman, possibly/probably South Asian. The main other commentator expected, but not yet present, would be Shami Chakrabarti [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shami_Chakrabarti], the well known commentator, activist etc, who is of Indian (Bengali) origins.

One sometimes feels, mutatis mutandis, a bit like Boris Savinkov [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Savinkov] as portrayed in Reilly, Ace of Spies [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reilly,_Ace_of_Spies]. At one point in the drama, Savinkov complains, of the anti-Bolshevik forces, “Latvians, Poles, Czechs…where are the Russians?!“

Many readers will be aware that Sam Melia of Patriotic Alternative was imprisoned on Friday for 2 years, which means that he will be incarcerated for a period somewhere between 6-12 months.

Melia’s wife, Laura Towler, is looking after their small child while Melia himself sits in prison; another child is expected within the next 2 months.

While I am unacquainted personally with Melia and Laura Towler, and while I do not belong to or (as such) “support” Patriotic Alternative, it is our duty to help those in trouble, especially those on our side of the overall societal argument. Even the New Testament says that.

I agree with Kurten, and the same is true of my “case” (I am going to be sentenced in a couple of weeks, in effect for having written the truth as I see it).

I wonder whether Melia will appeal, at least on sentence. It can be risky, but might work out for him on the facts as I have read of them. Hard to call. At present, it seems that he may be able to get out before the full year (out of two years) is up, but I only know what I have read here and there about his case.

I had not previously heard of this person or of his crimes. It does beg the questions around Nature v. Nurture, in that the subject had been brutalized from an early age, firstly by his own parents, then by the juvenile “reform” system, then by other experiences, and finally by the state and Federal adult prison systems.

In other words, someone evidently monstrous, but at the same time someone made monstrous, arguably. It would be interesting to compare the life-stories of his several siblings.

I have a shrewd idea (or maybe not so shrewd— we shall see…) that “30p Lee” Anderson may have jettisoned the Conservative Party rather than the other way around. After all, the Con Party is staring down the barrel of an electoral meltdown which may finish off arguably the longest-surviving political party in the world.

The Conservative Party was looking at quite likely defeat in Anderson’s constituency, but now maybe not (if Anderson is reinstated). If Anderson is not reinstated, he may well be able to stay on as MP either as an Independent or, more likely, after having stood as Reform Party candidate. He now has real national profile.

The maverick MP has been suspended from being under the Conservative Party whip.

Naturally, I do not agree with his statement that London is “run by Muslims”. Sadiq Khan is from a Muslim background, but has been pretty much in the Jew-Zionist pocket for many years.

It would be more accurate to characterize Sadiq Khan as “anti-white”.

As to Anderson himself, I suggest that he is trying to bolster his position vis a vis the General Election expected later this year.

Marquand defected to the SDP and then was honourable enough to step down as MP, not contesting the by-election.

In fact, Marquand was himself rather intellectual:

He argued that this decline was caused by Britain’s failure to become a developmental state like France, Germany and Japan. In fact, Ashfield is not quite as “safe Labour” as the history might suggest superficially. Gloria de Piero won in 2010 by a majority of under half a point (0.4%, 192 votes) from a LibDem.

While de Piero’s majority increased in 2015 (as the LibDems imploded), in 2017 she beat the Conservative candidate by less than one point (0.9%, 441 votes). An Ashfield Independent came third with over 9% of the vote.

In 2019, Lee Anderson won convincingly: 39.3% of the vote, followed in second (27.6%) by another “Ashfield Independent”, Jason Zadrozny [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Zadrozny], who has had a chequered political and personal history. In third place came Labour, with only 24.4%.

Zadrozny is going to contest the seat at GE 2024.

So far, apart from Anderson (who may or may not be standing as Conservative Party candidate, depending on whether he gets back the Conservative whip), only the Ashfield Independent and Reform UK are presently known to be likely to stand at GE 2024, but a full field is almost guaranteed. There may be a dozen or more candidates.

At first, I thought that Anderson could probably be written off as post-GE 2024 MP, but now am not so sure. He has now (whether by design or not) distanced himself from the unpopular Conservative leadership —and possibly from the equally-unpopular Conservative Party— is anti-EU, anti-migration invasion etc, and is now known nationwide. He must have at least a chance of retaining his seat. If he does, and if he also retains it as a “Conservative” MP, he might be one of 100 or even as few as 50 such MPs. Who knows what might then happen?“

It may be that Anderson would be better off electorally standing either for Reform UK or as Independent than he would be as a Conservative Party candidate. Voters like “celebrity”; look at how Caroline Lucas has built up her constituency vote at Brighton Pavilion over the years, and that despite Green Party candidates elsewhere generally losing their deposits with votes under 5%.

Well, an unusual week, in that I was outscored by political journalist John Rentoul, who managed 6/10; I only got 5/10. I nearly guessed the answer to question 1, but could not be sure, and also came close on question 7. As it was, I only knew for sure the answers to questions 2, 3, 6, 8, and 9.

Exactly so. Labour actually offers nothing (except, possibly, arguably, tighter administration) that is not offered or done by the present “Conservative” misgovernment. Having said that, the voters plainly wish to punish the Government for being so weak and, indeed, hopeless.

It was surprising to see that just over a third of the Kingswood voters who voted, still voted Con, albeit that the turnout was well under 40% (so only about 10% or so of all eligible voters voted Con), but that may indicate that in a general election, the Con vote in that constituency (were it not being abolished) would be nearer to 20% or 25%, on a putative turnout of about 70%. However, that would still be not enough to win (were the seat to still exist at GE 2024).

It seems to me that the voters have already decided GE 2024. Their decision is not to vote for the Conservative Party. The mood seems to me to veer from apathy to disappointment to despair to anger and back again to apathy.

I did blog, a few months ago, to the effect that there were unexplained aspects to the October attack, such as the apparent total failure of the supposedly very efficient Israeli intelligence and security apparat; such as the lengthy wait between the attack itself and any Israeli military response (especially in view of the small size of the country).

I asked the question whether this was akin to the mendacity of F.D. Roosevelt, who seems to have known about Pearl Harbor before it happened, and withdrew his most powerful ships from Hawaii prior to the actual attack. In that case, the purpose was to get the USA into the Second World War directly.

It still seems unlikely to me that the Israeli leadership allowed the October attack to happen, but stranger things have happened in history. Maybe the Israeli leaders anticipated an attack but thought that it would be less striking, less sanguinary etc. Then Israel could strike at Gaza and maybe drive the population out entirely, later replacing that population by Jewish settlers.

Hard to say at this stage.

The Kiev regime employs brutal press-gangs to capture draft-evaders. One has to ask, though, whether people forced to join up under violent duress are going to be of much use in the field.

Strategically, as noted on the blog for 2 years now, Russia cannot lose this conflict, and will not. Tactically, both sides have encountered problems, but in terms of both manpower and arms, Russia now has the edge, very obviously.

I would not rule out a large-scale Russian offensive in 2024, though it may be that Putin will prefer to see what happens politically in the USA first. The US Presidential Election is in November 2024.

Less an ordinary by-election, more a possible template for GE 2024. As I have blogged previously, there is a mood somewhere between anger and apathy, a mood which has become palpable in recent years, recent months.

The electorate now hates and despises the Conservative Party, whose governments now seem totally incompetent and ineffective. However, fake Labour is not much liked or respected either. “Least worst”, if you like.

As the Guardian report about Wellingborough indicates, that electoral mood leads people either to vote Labour as least-worst option, or to protest via Reform UK.

Sadly, no real social-national party is available.

The electorate’s present main emotion is wanting to stamp on the Government, on the misnamed Conservative Party, and on its MPs.

Last year, The Mail on Sunday exposed how Mary Harper, Africa Editor for the World Service, was  paid to give expert witness evidence for Somali gang rapist Yaqub Ahmed during his five-year legal battle to stay in the UK.

Now an investigation by this newspaper can reveal Ms Harper has given expert witness evidence in a string of other controversial deportation appeals by Somali offenders – including for another three sex attackers, three drug dealers and a career criminal who spent a decade in British jails.

In one of the most shocking cases, Ms Harper warned that a Somali man who committed a horrific sexual assault on a profoundly deaf 17-year-old girl would be at ‘severely heightened risk’ if he was sent back to Somalia because he had committed a sex crime.

Talking point: a medical episode

I do not usually blog about any medical conditions that may impact me, but in this case something wider, about the NHS, is illustrated.

When I lived for a year in Kazakhstan (1996-1997), I suddenly became almost deaf at one point. Ear wax. The wife of a Russian colonel with whom I was friendly took me to a local hospital not far from where I lived; I think that it was about a mile up the same long boulevard, Prospekt Lenina.

The treatment was basic but effective. A giant “watering can” was filled with water. I was enjoined to kneel down with my head sideways over a large receptacle. A metal cone about 2 feet deep was then positioned over one of my ears. One nurse held the cone as the other poured the water quickly but steadily into the cone.

The feeling —not pain exactly, but pressure— was almost unbearable for a second. It reminded me of a couple of experiences during scuba dive training. Then it was over, and a plug of ear wax the size of a little finger was floating in the water. Blessed relief. Hearing was restored.

I think —cannot now recall— that either the treatment was free or involved a small fee. I wanted to give the nurses themselves some money, but Ludmilla, the colonel’s wife, told me that that would not be necessary. She was always saving me from “wasting” money (and/or from the odd blonde), as when we were at the “Zilyony Bazaar” (“Green Market”), the Central Market in Almaty, and she would not hear of me having my fortune told by an ancient Kazakh woman sitting on the ground, and who used small animal bones to do her divinations. Ludmilla was a strong character, a contrast to her very easy-going husband.

The next time I had a similar problem, about 2015, the local GP surgery made me an appointment to see a nurse. I did attend, but in fact felt OK by the time I attended, and the nurse said that she could not see any wax anyway. So nothing had to be done.

Well, here we are in 2024. I was informed by the same GP surgery that they “no longer offer” any ear wax removal. A private clinic was recommended. It operates out of a small and quiet NHS hospital in a coastal village about 5 miles from my home. I made the appointment. £15 non-refundable deposit and £65 for the treatment. I could have had it done earlier, but am in fact going next week.

So there it is. Something that used to be free on the NHS now has to be paid for, or no treatment. I am not exactly affluent these days, and even a sum as small as £80 is not nothing (as the Russians say), but one can well imagine that there are many who would struggle to find the fee demanded.

The NHS is less and less useful. Here we are, with GPs earning, in most cases, £100,000-£200,000 a year, monies coming out of all our taxes (even if, like me, you are not employed, you still pay out via VAT etc), and they no longer offer what was a minor but still very useful service. A sign of the way things are going.

The NHS lost its way many years ago. It now seems, often, to be run mainly for the benefit of those employed in it.

It is not just a question of supplying the NHS with more money, or higher staff salaries, bonuses etc. It is a question of making sure that the people are offered services, and that the outcomes are good. Also, that the people needing medical (and dental) help, and their families, are not messed around and ripped-off (eg by having to pay exorbitant parking fees).

At least I myself shall not have to pay for parking next week; having been to that small hospital once before, I know that parking is free, just as in the Good Old Days (or today in the USA, France and I think almost everywhere else).

The latest YouGov poll (9 January 2024) is even more stark: Con 72, Lab 514, LibDems 36.

Call me spiteful, but one of the aspects of all that I like the most is thinking about all those nasty and/or smug little careerists of recent years, in the 20-40 age range, willing to “throw under a bus” the poor, unemployed, disabled etc, and who thought that they had a future as Con Party MPs coming to them, and now face a less-pleasant future of having to work in a real job for a living.

Starmer is a weasel, an Israel-lobby puppet, a Jewish-lobby puppet, and nothing more, but the most important thing is to completely wipe out, if possible, the equally-“occupied” “Conservative” Party. It would be disastrous if more than about a hundred Con Party MPs were to survive the 2024 General Election. That would tend to validate the rigged pseudo-democratic System.

Every time Starmer opens his mouth, he reveals just how unfitted he is for the role of Prime Minister. Something that he has in common with the little Indian money-juggler, Sunak.

I am thinking maybe a loss of around 250-300 seats, leaving the Con Party as a (50-100 MP) rump party, on a similar though higher level to the LibDems (now with 15 MPs but maybe with 30 or more after the GE, thanks purely to a projected or possible collapse of the Con Party vote in the South of England as well as elsewhere).

Of course, the LibDems are a bad joke, but then look at the Con Party over the last 14 years or more…indeed, look at the “leaders” alone: David Cameron-Levita, Theresa May, “Boris” Johnson, Liz Truss, and now the Indian money-juggler, Sunak.

My view too. There is a largely unspoken (to some degree unconscious) wish for real social nationalism, but there is no effective social-national party now active, partly because (((the usual suspects))) have squashed every attempt to get one into the air over the past half century or more.
