There is little doubt, though, that in those countries that produce items exported to the USA, the Trump tariffs will cause economic damage, possibly severe damage. That in turn will cause political fallout.
The USA is a huge and vibrant economy. If turned inward, that may be able to create the prosperity and job security so lacking at present in many American communities. The USA should have been isolationist in the 1940s and afterwards, as it had been in the 1930s. It seems to me that that would be a good policy now for the USA. Economic isolationism allied to political isolationism.
The USA should build up purely defensive military and naval power, but avoid doing what it has done, particularly, since 1941, i.e. interfere all over the world. If that is done, American security will thereby be increased.

The very few (literally one or two, except at Oxford University) seen by me in the 1960s in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, where I lived, were occasional people such as NHS consultants.
I should know what the UK was like back then: I was born in 1956.
In the 1960s, there were many modernizing developments in the UK (for good or ill, sometimes for good) such as the Open University, the first motorways (M1, M4), Concorde etc. Also, after 20 years, Britain was just starting to pull away strongly from the restricted post-WW2 atmosphere that had hung over the country since the Pyrrhic victory of 1945.
As for Wilson himself, I encountered him when I was 9, or maybe just 10, in 1966 (my birthday being in early September). I was for some reason determined to meet him and, knowing that he was on the island, stalked a few people who looked, to my mind, a bit like him until I found my quarry on the quay at Hugh Town, St. Mary’s, accompanied by his sole bodyguard, a slim “British officer” type with a pencil moustache, his pistol and holster hidden under a cricket jumper tied around his waist, only the thin brown gun belt over the shoulder giving it away.

The malicious “Campaign Against Antisemitism” (“CAA”) cabal and Crown (“Clown”?) Prosecution Service (which the “CAA” —typically—badgered for 7+ years to prosecute me) completely failed to persuade the sentencing judge to curtail publication of, or censor the content of, the blog.
I myself, however, have decided to make the blog gradually more focussed on analysis, and less on comment, as well as making it more diplomatic, but without compromise on ideology or principle.
The “CAA” is evidently embarrassed by the ultimate result. Their endless whining and demanding may have led to me being charged and —after a year— convicted , and to my having to waste much time defending myself, but the ultimate result, apart from the £734 in financial imposts (which may be largely covered by donations), is that I have to meet once every 1-3 weeks with the Probation Service for the rest of this year; 15 meetings in all; I have already attended one (short and not at all unpleasant).
The “CAA” crowed mightily on Twitter/X when I was convicted (November 2023), but since the sentencing hearing (14 March 2024), they have not tweeted once about me. Ha.

Completely disproportionate, and way beyond anything reasonably describable as “self-defence”.
The Hamas/Gazan side does not have planes, tanks, armoured personnel carriers, really powerful missiles, bombs etc.
After the initial one-day attack from Gaza in October 2023, and arguably a day or so later, nothing the Israeli side has done can possibly be called “proportionate” or “in self-defence“.

Talking of BBC Radio 3, I notice that there has been a gradual slide in its level. Now, it quite often plays music more suited to Radio 2.

I no longer have a Twitter/X account, having been expelled at the behest of a pack of Jews in 2018. There are other Ian Millards still on Twitter/X, though, and I have to admit that it is now slightly irritating that one such (@IanMillard100) posts on political topics. I even agree with a few of his tweets! However, I should not like my readers, or others, to think that “IanMillard100” is me, not least because he seems to be fervently pro-Israel, and even has an Israeli flag on his masthead.

When the Hamas attack on southern Israel happened in early October, even some people not inclined to support Israel (or Jews generally) may have been slightly sympathetic to the civilian victims (in fact, many were not really civilian, but we can leave that aside).
Israel’s response, to launch a sustained bombing campaign on the civilians (half of them children or teenagers) in Gaza, killing many thousands, grievously injuring and mutilating thousands more, destroying hospitals etc, has wiped out any slight inclination on the part of the majority of non-Jews to feel any sympathy at all for Israelis and the Jewish “diaspora” across the West.
Israel was born out of Jewish terrorism. That has affected its development right up to the present day.

Well, without even researching the others, Dowden, Shapps and Frazer are Jewish. So that's at least 3 of 23 cabinet ministers, about 1 in 7. If Jews are around 0.5% of the population, that's about 30x overrepresentation right there.

Of course, I want all mass immigration stopped, and a start made on re-Europeanizing the UK, but of course that tweeter is right insofar as it is clear that 99.99% of those coming on small boats (and also, probably, 90%+ of the “legal” immigrants) will bring little or no benefit to the people of the UK.
