Let’s get this straight. Reform is way in front in the opinion polls, and it has no need to pick officers and candidates who are non-European. It has chosen to do that despite white voters (who are still about 80%+ of the whole) plainly preferring (real) English/British candidates.
Reform is controlled opposition, and has rapidly morphed into a quasi-System party. Its stance on the “JQ” and Israel reinforces those points.
Having said that, Reform must triumph in the short term (up to 2029) in order to bin the main System parties (Con/Lab). After that, social nationalism will have a clear field once Reform fails to accomplish anything much in government.
Work is not the best way out of poverty. It’s a Tory and Reform trope – he’s been both in the last fortnight – and it’s patently rubbish. If it was true we’d have a lot fewer claimants. https://t.co/aioh3IAhva

“A radical feminist opera which includes explicit lesbian sex scenes, real blood and injuries, and naked roller-skating nuns, has left 18 audience members needing medical treatment in Germany.
Sancta Susanna by composer Paul Hindemith caused a scandal back in 1921, with outraged critics labelling the one-act opera, which tells the story of a suppressed nun discovering her sexuality, too blasphemous to be shown.
Its premiere at the Stuttgart Opera was cancelled, but more than 100 years later, it has now been staged in the city for the first time – with the shock factor amped up to dizzying new heights in what its creators call a ‘radical vision of the Holy Mass’.
The ‘feminist mass’ sees the central character, a young nun called Susanna discover her sexuality, eventually pulling down Christ’s loincloth on the crucifix in the scandalous climax. At one point, the nude nun has sex with the icon.
The performance has an age restriction of 18, and incorporates sex acts, painful stunts, real and fake blood, piercings and the infliction of a wound on stage.”
[Daily Mail]
Incidentally, the poor literacy of the Daily Mail and similar comics is again apparent in that report, “suppressed” used when the scribbler obviously meant “repressed“.
“The Nazis‘ relationship to Hindemith’s music was complicated. Some condemned his music as “degenerate” (largely based on his early, sexually charged operas such as Sancta Susanna).
“In December 1934, during a speech at the Berlin Sports Palace, Germany’s Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels publicly denounced Hindemith as an “atonal noisemaker”.[9]
The Nazis banned his music in October 1936, and he was subsequently included in the 1938 Entartete Musik (Degenerate Music) exhibition in Düsseldorf.[10]
Other officials working in Nazi Germany, though, thought that he might provide Germany with an example of a modern German composer, as, by this time, he was writing music based in tonality, with frequent references to folk music. The conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler‘s defence of Hindemith, published in 1934, takes this line.[11]
The controversy around his work continued throughout the thirties, with Hindemith falling in and out of favour with the Nazis.“
Few people today realize quite how decadent the 1918-1933 Weimar Republic was. That was one reason why, from the spiritual-cultural point of view, National Socialism had to come to power, to rescue the future of Germany and the German people from the basest decadence.
Now, we see the same cultural sickness and death, in sometimes even worse manifestations, spreading across Europe, and across much of the world, particularly what is regarded as the civilized world.

The drizzle lasted for several hours, during which time the locals (mostly Berbers) were literally dancing in the sandy streets.
Not that they needed the water, as such; Siwa has about 350 springs (Wikipedia says 200) fed from an aquifer deep under the Sahara. They even export bottled Siwa water to the rest of Egypt.

NEW POST. Britain’s population explosion in 10 stats. Brand new data on how a country is being radically transformed https://t.co/oVZzXDRgW6
“By the year 2036, only twelve years away, the government’s own forecast suggests another 6.6 million people will arrive in the country, equivalent to about five cities the size of Birmingham, taking the population to 74 million people. By the late 2040s, on current numbers, the population will expand by around 20 million people, equivalent to 18 cities the size of Birmingham.”
[Matt Goodwin]
Also:
“Well, what we also learned this week is that more people are now dying than being born among the British population —which is the first time this has happened for half a century.
In fact, the native population declined by 16,300 people in the year ending June 2023, reflecting the ongoing fertility crisis that will now become a constant in our national life unless, again, we rapidly change course.
The ‘replacement rate’ for a country whereby it is reproducing itself over time is 2.1 but in Britain this rate has slumped from 3.0 in the 1960s, to 1.5 in 2022, is forecast to crash to 1.38 by the year 2050 and then 1.3 by 2100, making it impossible to keep the population stable.
In other words, what demographers call “natural negative change” among the native population, alongside the other key changes below, will now only accelerate in the years ahead.”

Trump is still the better choice in terms of preventing a nuclear war, which for me is the number one priority.
Obviously, Kamala Harris is basically an idiot and a mere puppet of the “Deep State”, so she will, if elected President, be controlled by more powerful minds than her own, which might be the better idea… (and I note that the US now seems to be reining back on the “war with Russia” moves— the USA would be a scarred, irradiated and lawless dystopia indeed, were its 50-100 top cities to be blasted off the face of the Earth).
I do wonder about the mentality of intending Harris voters though, even accepting that Trump is not really a good candidate either. I should say that it comes down to perceived identity: blacks and other non-whites will vote Kamala Harris because she is non-white, simple as that. Likewise, crazed feminism is so strong in the USA, and has been for at least 50 years, that many women will vote for Kamala Harris merely because she is a woman.

“Liberty fought tyranny in the High Court in London last week, in what I believe is one of the most important court cases of our time. The issues were simple. Is it permissible to disagree publicly with the British Government‘s foreign policy?
If not, how much do you have to disagree with it to be in trouble? And can you then be severely punished without a proper trial?
I have a strong personal interest in this, since I often (in fact, almost always) disagree with British foreign policy. This frequently seems to have been made by bomb-happy teenagers who have never looked at a map, opened a history book or done any proper travel.
These are surely huge issues for any country. Apart from anything else, if foreign policy cannot be criticised, how long before domestic policy is protected in the same way?“

A word about a favourite drink, though one not had by me for some 20 years.
“I must descant a little upon the mint julep, as it is… one of the most delightful and insinuating potations that was ever invented, and may be drunk with satisfaction when the thermometer is as low as 70 degrees.
There are many varieties, such as those composed of claret, Madeira, &c., but the ingredients of the real Mint Julep are as follows. I learned how to make them and succeeded pretty well. Put into a tumbler about a dozen sprigs of the tender shoots of mint, upon them put a spoonful of white sugar, and equal proportions of peach and common brandy, so as to fill it up one-third, or perhaps a little less.
Then take rasped or pounded ice, and fill up the tumbler. Epicures rub the lip of the tumbler with a piece of fresh pineapple, and the tumbler itself is very often incrusted outside with stalactites of ice.
As the ice melts, you drink.
I once overheard two ladies talking in the room next to me, and one of them said, “Well, if I have a weakness for any one thing, it is for a mint julep!”–a very amiable weakness, and proving her good sense and good taste. They are, in fact, like the American ladies–irresistible!“

Yet one in six baby boomers — aged 58 to 76 — report owning more than one property, according to the Intergenerational Foundation, a think tank.

Serious problem. So many people having to work purely to pay rent to some parasite for (often) a wholly-unsatisfactory dwelling. Not a new problem, but now getting even worse.
The cost of rentals devalues the more basic kinds of work, unjustly rewards rentier parasites, and damages society in a number of ways.
There is another point, looking at that Times report: the sheer pointlessness (from the purely practical perspective) of bothering to get a “degree”, a “master’s degree”, even a “doctorate”, when every other idiot also has one.
The political implications are stark. The average age of outright owners of real property in the UK is now 68. Not so long ago, say 20-40 years, it would have been 50 or even 45.
Those property owners in their sixties, seventies, eighties often own two or more properties (second homes, holiday homes, rented-out homes— sometimes all three in one).
The tiny proportion of people (about 1 in every 200 citizens) about to choose the next Conservative Party leader and so, by default, Prime Minister, are mostly persons over 50, usually over 60, who are (again, not always but often) outright property-owners and, not infrequently buy-to-let or other rentier parasites.
This has real results: last time, that tiny electorate chose Boris-idiot as Prime Minister. This time, either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak.
Talking of Liz Truss, I have seen the clip of her filmed as the TV debate presenter collapsed. A panicked reaction at first. Is this the person to be in command, overall, of Britain’s nuclear deterrent? Is this the person to decide whether Britain gets into a war with Russia? I hope not, though I don’t want a non-European as Prime Minister either.
The [NWO/ZOG] System is getting desperate to advance their latest 33-year cycle agenda, 2022-2055, therefore we see the “blacks with everything” agenda, the “I stand with Ukraine” silliness, facemask nonsense (and all the other Covid-related stuff), the “trans” nonsense, and much of the “climate change” reportage. Leaving aside the rights and wrongs of the rail industry dispute, what we see here is an example of what I have been blogging about for years around the Labour Party, that being that, if you like, the Labour Party has lost its former overall constituency, and has not found a credible role.
The industrial proletariat —the massed ranks of miners, dockers, railwaymen, steelworkers, factory workers, later expanded to include shopworkers etc— has pretty much ceased to exist in the UK.
Whole industries were shut down from, especially, 1980-2000, by reason of changing economic and social landscapes, accelerated by withdrawal of government subsidies.
The former “proletarians” either went into other activities where there existed no tradition of “working class” solidarity, or joined the unemployed, existing on State benefits and, in areas such as the South Wales valleys, on top-ups from disability income given out (in the 1980s) almost unchecked.
The former Labour Party stalwarts had become either Marx’s “lumpenproletariat”, or members of a new group, or perhaps a group with a new label, the “precariat”.
The latter implied a group whose lifestyle and very existence was uncertain from week to week, the polar opposite of those comfortably-off smug core Conservative Party members and voters, who had always been (and often their parents as well) well-paid, perhaps with family money, who had properties owned outright or with easily-paid-off mortgages. People whose lives were —unlike those of the “precariat”— not at all precarious.
Increasingly, the Labour Party ditched anything connecting it to “socialism” (in the UK’s more “social-democratic” form): Clause IV of the Labour Party Constitution was removed, opening the way for Tony Blair and his group to make Labour more “electable” in areas normally voting Conservative. Links with trade unions were loosened.
The strategy worked: in 1997, Labour had what many still call a “landslide” victory, though it still garnered only 43.2% of the popular vote (Conservatives 30.7%; LibDems 16.8%).
The absurd First Past The Post system gave Labour its “landslide” in MP numbers, despite the Labour popular vote having risen by only a modest amount. The same effect helped the LibDems, whose MP numbers almost tripled (to 46 from 18), despite the LibDem popular vote having fallen by one point. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997_United_Kingdom_general_election.
In 1997, the old industrial regions and cities still voted Labour. South Wales, the Midlands and Northern conurbations, the industrial parts of the North-East, much of Scotland (especially the industrialized Central Belt), and some parts of the London area.
Compare the graphic above with that showing the result of the 2019 election, below:
Labour, as an entrenched “one-party” political monopoly (in its core areas), has only remained entrenched in parts of London, parts of South Wales, parts of the North, North-East, North-West, and a few parts of the Birmingham/West Midlands area. Scotland is gone, most of Wales is gone, almost all of southern and central England outside London has gone.
Corbyn tried to appeal to the old Labour heartlands, as well as reaching out to the new “identity politics” of, mainly, London— the blacks, the other non-whites, the precariat generally, and the “useful idiots” of white pseudo-intellectual “wokedom”.
Corbyn failed, but not as badly as many have said. What sank Corbyn-Labour was that many voters outside London would not accept his clunky 1970s pseudo-socialism, or his infatuation with the “blacks and browns”.
That perception was intensified by the basically Jewish attacks on Corbyn (since he became leader). In the Press, on TV, on radio. Many Labour MPs were completely in the Jew-Zionist pocket, and made pronouncements against Labour even during the 2017 and 2019 elections.
Keir Starmer, despite his first name and Labour-voting parents, is someone with quite shallow roots in Labour (born in London, brought up in affluent Oxted, Surrey, and attended Reigate Grammar (which became private/independent while he was there); he became a barrister, married a Jewish woman, and their children have been brought up as if full-Jew).
Starmer’s response to Labour’s decreasing relevance has been the opposite of that of Corbyn. Starmer wants to appeal to what is left of the old Labour heartlands, while also making Labour “electable” for the rest of the country. No “socialism” to frighten the horses, just (supposedly) competent managerial semi-social-democracy. Basically, a (less convincing?) Tony Blair/Gordon Brown strategy.
Part of Starmer’s plan is to present Labour as a party which disapproves of industrial action, and which does not want to return to (what is perceived as) the bad old 1970s.
The “workers” of the old type (as in the rail industry) are rather unwanted remote relatives now, unwanted guests at Labour’s party.
Frankly, I doubt that Starmer’s strategy will work much. It may work up to a point, Labour may regain a relatively few seats, enough to prevent whichever then idiot leads the Conservative Party from getting a majority in (as it may be) 2023 or 2024 but, in the end, Labour’s time has come and gone.
Like the Conservative Party (and LibDems), the Labour Party is little more than a name.

David Icke used to follow my Twitter account. In fact, leaving aside organizational and corporate accounts, mine was one of a very small handful that Icke followed.
I was expelled from Twitter in 2018 after a campaign by the usual whining and/or demanding Jews, connected to the so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”].
Icke was also expelled from Twitter, a couple of years later. Same situation. Same pack of Jews.
Such expulsions are the main reason why Twitter is now relatively dull in every way. I use it as a convenient way of filling gaps in my blog with news and comment but, as a real tool of influence in itself, it has been killed, and killed by “them”. It’s always “them”…
Quite a few of the vandalistic sort of “anti-Semitic” actions seen over the years in the USA, UK etc, actions such as drawing swastikas, damaging bits and pieces in Jewish cemeteries etc, have actually been found to have been perpetrated by Jews, often with the motive of Jews being then able to whine about how oppressed they are by —mainly invented— “antisemitism” etc (which then leads to money —many millions of pounds in the UK alone— being given by government to Jew-Zionist “security” (snooping and strongarm) orgs to pay for, supposedly, an increase in security at Jewish religious and educational centres; also leading to pressure for laws being passed to restrict “anti-Semitic” comment online and offline.
Far be it from me to defend a Polish Jew, but truth demands exposure. As a film director, Polanski is pretty good. It is ironic that one of his least-interesting films, arguably, is (again arguably) his best-known— Chinatown [1974]. I saw it very long ago, and found it confused. Perhaps I should see it again before being too critical. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinatown_(1974_film)
What has always struck me about the films of Polanski is the element of surprise and, indeed, shock, that they all seem to have. Most if not all have some scenes where the unexpected slaps you in the face.
As to the sex crime with which Polanski was charged in 1977, perhaps I am being too kind, but it strikes me as a bit of a storm in a teacup. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Polanski.
Yes, Polanski having a sexual encounter with a young girl (13-y-o), was a crime under Californian law. She seems to have been not unwilling, which though irrelevant legally, has at least some relevance in background terms. She has made public, as an adult, the fact that she does not want Polanski to be further penalized. Anyway, it is long ago now, 45 years in fact.
There is a kind of neo-Puritanism about, which demands that artists (even ones long-dead) must be very straitlaced, which not all are. I suppose that the fuss about Eric Gill is another fairly recent example. So must we destroy or remove from public view the works of, say, Caravaggio?
The nonsense about Polanski and others is akin to the demand of the “Black Lives Matter” idiots that statues and other memorabilia associated with persons themselves even obliquely associated with slavery be removed or destroyed. If that were carried into effect, almost all famous people from 15th to 19th centuries (in the UK and many other countries) would have to have their statues torn down. And what of the surviving statues of ancient rulers and others? Or does the present pursed-lipped disapproval apply only to black slaves?

“Foundling”, not “founding“, but no matter. What a very nice confirmation of the view expressed by C.S. Lewis (and cited in the Foreword to the beautiful book, Sold for a Farthing, by Clare Kipps) that the “tame” state (not afraid of, or hostile to, humans) is the truly natural state of being for the animal kingdom, though as yet largely unfulfilled.
[Clare Kipps with Clarence, “a common house sparrow“]
Social parasitism
Renters are being physically attacked, verbally abused and having their belongings thrown into the street in a growing trend of illegal evictions across the UK
Saw an episode of Midsomer Murders, the first seen by me, as far as I can recall, for two or three years. Basic format much as in the past, but “the Great Replacement” agenda has really taken over.
In the small Berkshire/Oxfordshire-type village(s) in question, in the past all-white, the white English are now scarcely a majority. The first scene, at the village green, had some English people, but also blacks, browns, and Chinese, in numbers.
The demographic change was so marked that it made me laugh. It was as if (?) some “woke” idiot had gone round with a clipboard, ticking off “types”, as in “now let me see…three Chinese, several blacks, a few Indians and Pakistanis, a few white English.…” etc. The final scene was absurd: the two (white English) detectives, the last planned (but saved) victim (Indo-Pakistani), and three perpetrators— a black woman, another Indian, and one white English. In a tiny English village in the country…
Several years ago, “activists” complained that the show was too English. It “needed” more blacks and browns, they said…
Transparent, of course, to someone of my age etc, but that kind of propaganda is aimed at those of much greener years. Normalization of a basically non-English, non-European, society.

If you properly understand history, it has to be that other fat drunken, war-mongering maniac, Churchill. https://t.co/7Zjx4mu8PA
— TheEndOfEverything (@EternalEnglish) May 29, 2022
Not sure that I entirely agree, despite “Boris” himself, repeatedly over the years, trying to present himself as a kind of am-dram Churchill.
Whatever the many flaws of Churchill, he was certainly a great historical figure, with real talents. To compare Churchill to Boris-idiot is to insult the former and flatter hugely the latter. I say that despite being implacably opposed to most of Churchill’s policies.
As I have blogged before, if comparing Churchill to “Boris” at all, the verdict must be, in the famous words of Marx, “first time— tragedy; second time— farce“… (from Marx’s 18th Brumaire, if I am not mistaken; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eighteenth_Brumaire_of_Louis_Bonaparte).
I was just laughing again at the following clip from Mastermind:
Lammy is no mastermind! His Wikipedia entry is too kind to him, and shows (yet again) the error of relying too much on superficial paper qualifications. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lammy.
I first posted the above clip about 6 months ago, and then wrote that, “Good grief! Someone sent me the clip below. I knew that Lammy was/is a deadhead, and in fact I have been meaning for a long time to add an assessment of him to my “Deadhead MPs” series, but…well, see for yourself!” and “People will say, “oh, but he is a barrister, has several degrees etc”…yes, and one of the most stupid (and ignorant) people I ever met was a former Sierra Leone diplomat, a High Commissioner to the UK when in London, and ambassador to some other state. That African had degrees from one of the most famous English universities, one from the Sorbonne, one from either Harvard or Yale (I forget).” Then I added, “Imagine Lammy as either Lord Chancellor or Attorney-General! Still, now that Keir Starmer is running what is left of Labour into the ground, such appointment is unlikely.”
The most obvious box-tick is the number of blacks and browns in leading roles: the captain of the nuclear submarine Vigil is a black, while the medical officer on board is an (?) Indian woman. Ashore, about half the Scottish (Glasgow) police detectives are non-white, and of the two main MI5 officers in the drama, one is seemingly Pakistani or something else.
Another box-tick is that, of the two women police detectives, the older one, a grieving quasi-widow, has a lesbian affair with the other. Well, such things happen, and there are, no doubt, both Glasgow detectives and naval officers (and MI5 personnel) who are non-white. In such proportion, though? In every TV drama?
A few other points about Vigil caught my attention. The GRU officer caught in Glasgow was interviewed about a murder (in which he was the only obvious suspect) without a lawyer present (despite having asked for one), and apparently without having been cautioned, and the interview was plainly not being taped (as far as I could see). At least three serious breaches of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, aka PACE. Not very good for a “police procedural” type of drama.
Again, the GRU [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GRU] officer under diplomatic cover, caught in Glasgow in activities “incompatible with his diplomatic status”, did not, on being caught, immediately proclaim his diplomatic status (and so immunity); neither did he demand to be released at once, or to have contacted for him the Russian Consulate, as a real one would have done.
Not that such “demands” are always treated respectfully. When I myself was arrested (or as the Egyptian army and secret police said repeatedly, “not arrested”) in Alexandria in 1998, and held for about 11 hours by Egyptian Army intelligence/security and then the Mukhabarat (secret police), I asked repeatedly for the British Consul, only to be told (also repeatedly) that I was “not arrested”, but just “answering a few questions“, or “a fewmore questions“; also, that “the Consul will be very busy…“, and “the Consul is only for the most serious cases…you do not want to be treated as a serious case, do you?“…
In a sense, execution is too quick for those and similar monsters. The best thing that can be done to prevent such crimes is to ensure that such creatures cannot be born in the first place.
Quite. A silly fellow making a pointless and silly (and ahistorical) protest, but why should he not be allowed to do so? The present Home Secretary is an ever-more ballooning Indian woman of surpassing stupidity, incompetence, and ignorance (as well as being, effectively, an agent of Israel). Put that on your placard, you idiot!
More idiots. These ones are so ineffective and ridiculous that they cannot even be said to be “controlled opposition”. Just 5-minutes-of-fame (15 would be too long) political bad jokes. The Monster Raving Loonies are at least amusing when they show up.
I do not know what is more disturbing, that half-Jew office bully Raab is spouting “woke” nonsense, or that someone who has attended both Oxford and Cambridge universities, and is —even if ludicrously— presently Lord Chancellor, does not know the meaning of the word “misogyny”. Another sign of the times?
On my way home and feeling so angry. What has happened tonight over a ‘technical’ issue will have a huge societal impact on the people of Wales. It’s a disgrace. #NoVaccinePassportsAnywherepic.twitter.com/lvhks5ZSQr
The old Communists caused economic disaster by changing the OWNERSHIP of the means of production. #BorisJohnson & his #GreatReset cronies are ABOLISHING them. The results will be many times worse. Evil or just insane? You decide, but you'll suffer as well.https://t.co/TF3lOPhbLp
I suppose that one could take issue with the first part of Griffin’s tweet: it was not the State ownership of the means of production that crippled socialist economies, but the fact that the State, the political sphere if you like, operated companies etc, in other words made all the important decisions. Admittedly, in many such cases that will be the same as “ownership”.
I wonder if they'll make the unvaccinated wear a special badge so they can be identified and singled out for further 'special treatments.
It is noteworthy that Jews in the UK are among the most fervent supporters of Covid vaccination(s) and vaccines, the facemask nonsense, and all the repressive measures introduced by this crazed government of clowns since early 2020. I am not sure exactly why that should be, but it is a fact that I have noticed. Also, the pro-EU hard-core “Remainers” seem to be facemask zealots etc. Again, hard to see why, unless it is a wish to not have to think for themselves. Preparation of future karma?
Sometimes, I can see why people less polite than me want to kick in the heads of some members of the Parliamentary monkeyhouse… The sheer cheek of many MPs infuriates many members of the public and —in my view— rightly so.
Look at this cretin!
Although he said he currently is not struggling financially, he believes the situation is ‘desperately difficult’ for his newer colleagues.
Admittedly, £81,000 is not a fortune these days, especially when taxable etc, but bearing in mind that average UK pay is only about £31,000 (and the median far less even than that, and less again if those dependent on State benefits and pensions are included), I doubt that many will think MPs are hard done by. Even less so when one considers how many have other sources of income, such as second jobs, “consultancy” “work”, money from scribbling or being TV talking heads etc; not to mention the very many who have large monies via inheritances.
Many MPs are also buy-to-let parasites.
In the end, MPs are volunteers. If they think that they are worth more than £81K p.a., let them go and get it on the open market. Few can do so, which is why so many are found sinecures in state employment, or in quangos (via cronyism) when they lose their seats.

It will be noted that among the names on the above list is that of Therese Coffey MP [Con, Suffolk Coastal], recently appointed as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. The role has been held by deadheads before, idiots such as Iain Dunce Duncan Smith and Esther McVey.
So who is Therese Coffey?
Therese Coffey was born in Lancashire, to parents about whom neither Wikipedia nor her own website say anything at all. She was brought up in Liverpool, according to Wikipedia, which however says that she was at school both at St. Mary’s College, in the small North Wales town of Rhos-on-Sea, and at St. Edward’s College, Liverpool. Both were at the time private Roman Catholic schools. Coffey is a name of Irish origin.
Therese Coffey was awarded a B.A. degree by Oxford University (subject unknown), she having gone up to Somerville College; then (oddly, on the face of it) she acquired a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UCL. Therese Coffey is often referred to as “Dr” Therese Coffey.
[Update, 21 May 2020: since writing the above, I have discovered that, while Oxford’s usual Chemistry degree is a 4-year course leading to a Master’s degree (M.Chem), the University does offer other chemistry-related 3-year science degrees
[Update, 7 September 2022: Wait a minute… it now turns out that Therese Coffey was asked to leave her Oxford college because she was not up to the course academically, and/or failed her exams! See update at foot of this blog post for more]
In England (though not in some other countries, notably Germany) it has always been considered infra dig to use the title “Doctor” unless one is either a medical doctor or some sort of working academic, scientist or clergyman. Unfortunately, there has fairly recently developed in the UK a strange affectation, of people insisting on referring to themselves as “Dr” when all they have is a doctorate in something (other than whatever they do professionally or whatever). So we have “Dr” Julian Lewis MP [Con, New Forest East], who holds a doctorate (D.Phil) in Strategic Studies. Another is “Dr” Louise Raw, “antifa” type prolific on Twitter, who holds a Ph.D. and whose special subject is one particular industrial strike in 1888. Now we also have “Dr” Therese Coffey.
Therese Coffey was awarded her doctorate in chemistry in 1998, at the age of 28. Her own website says that she was at one time a “management accountant”. She worked for Mars, the confectionery company, and for a subsidiary of the same, at which latter she was apparently Finance Director. She also did some work for the BBC. I think that we can assume that Therese Coffey’s non-political career was far from stellar.
Therese Coffey failed to become a Conservative MEP at the EU elections of both 2004 and 2009. She was, however, selected for the Conservative candidature at Suffolk Coastal (despite having been born and brought up in the North West of England, later living in Andover, Hampshire and having no obvious connection with Suffolk or East Anglia).
The expenses claimed by Therese Coffey in her first 6 months as MP were more than double those claimed by MPs in some other nearby seats. She seems to have kept her house and flat in Hampshire, which (it has been said of at least one) are being let.
Therese Coffey was one of the 72 MPs (almost all Conservatives) who both have an income of over £10,000 p.a. from rental property and voted out a bill requiring landlords to ensure that their properties were fit for human habitation! In other words, Therese Coffey is a parasite.
Therese Coffey voted to sell off woodland and forests in public ownership to private interests (the bill was dropped after a huge public outcry).
Therese Coffey has written a position paper recommending that pensioners pay National Insurance. She is a member of the extreme Free Enterprise Group within the Conservative Party.
Therese Coffey has been in favour of both Rupert Murdoch and gambling interests in the past.
Therese Coffey has from time to time bunged her own sister some money out of Parliamentary expenses for work (presumably) done.
Therese Coffey likes a “rock band” called Muse, it seems. I had never heard of them until now. Her interest in rock music seems bizarre, looking at her photographs and thinking of what can be gleaned of her personality (not very much). She certainly looks more like Patricia Routledge’s portrayal of the retirement-age Lancastrian private eye, Hetty Wainthropp, in Hetty Wainthropp Investigates. However, Ms. Coffey’s liking for real ale (she is a member of CAMRA) is rather plausible. In fact, Ms. Coffey is only 47 years old, surprisingly, she having been born in November 1971.
I would have assumed that Therese Coffey is a lesbian, looking at this tank-like, Guinness-drinking, cigar-smoking person who likes football, but there is nothing I have found on the Internet to support such a conclusion directly; and she voted against “gay marriage” (and in that alone I support her, inasmuch as I feel that “civil partnership” provided whatever socio-legal comfort was necessary to deal with the inadequacies of the English law as it was in the previous century).
What disturbs me most about Therese Coffey is not so much what she has said, written and done, though that is bad enough, but what I have not seen from her: I have seen no intellectual curiosity that goes outside the box, for example any discussion of the need for Basic Income; neither have I seen anything else of intellectual interest from her. Admittedly, I have only been looking since her elevation to Cabinet (she was only a non-Cabinet minister earlier in 2019, and before that only one of the Conservative whips, traditionally a role for plodders…). If my view changes, I shall update this article, being by nature fair and just.
Therese Coffey may be the Cabinet minister with the lowest public profile. She is unknown to the general public. How long she will remain in Cabinet, I have no idea. If Boris-Idiot falls, “not long” is my guess. It may be thought unfair to dub someone with qualifications in both chemistry and accountancy a “deadhead”, but from the socio-political point of view I think that she well merits it. At any rate, as MP she is not going away, in that Suffolk Coastal is one of the safest Conservative seats.
Obscure Minister moans about duff advice from scientists https://t.co/VZdf6j9gzu Downing Street says she is being 'unhelpful' . I'll say she is. The recognition that scientific advice can be wrong and ministers are responsible for following it or not, is dangerous to this lot.
Just as well that she does not have the power to give DWP benefits claimants an electric shock via a dog collar…

Update, 6 September 2022
Well, whether you call it “the irony of fate”, a concatenation of unexpected events, or just madness, Therese Coffey has not only survived the fall of “Boris”-idiot, and stayed in Cabinet, but has been effectively promoted to two new positions— Secretary of State for Health, and Deputy Prime Minister.
It seems that —unknown to me until today— Therese Coffey and the —it seems strange to use the words— new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, are rather friendly. I suppose that, in that snake pit, Liz Truss would rather have a few friends around her rather than potential backstabbers who might, however, actually be competent at the jobs occupied.
The Twitterati have not been kind:
The fact that I have put Therese Coffey in charge of the NHS tells you all you need to know about my government. pic.twitter.com/2ioREL9tC5
Thérèse Coffey's reward for kicking thousands of disabled people off Universal Credit ahead of a major cost of living crisis is promotion to health secretary. Be very afraid.
Therese Coffey who hid 9 reports that apparently detailed wrong doings and cruelty in her last department is Health Secretary, Deputy PM – She is also best friends with Truss. https://t.co/XOoGOZRljv
Thérèse Coffey advised the covid unemployed to 'spend their savings', and told victims of Sunak's £20 a week universal credit cut to 'work another two hours'. She's now Britain's deputy prime minister.
Therese Coffey is an absolutely woeful politician. For her to be given such important roles is @trussliz treating them with contempt. Only been Prime Minister five minutes and already making nonsensical Johnson like appointments.
So there it is. Those who follow my blog, or read it regularly, will know or perhaps can guess what I think (inter alia, that tweeting, blogging, or complaining and protesting, will not rid our country of incompetent, corrupt, or evil politicians). Let’s leave it there…
Update, 7 September 2002
Wait a minute… it now turns out that Therese Coffey was asked to leave her Oxford college because either she was not up to the course academically, and/or failed her exams.
So how did she get even a BA degree from Somerville? Or is that a total fabrication, like Iain Dunce Duncan Smith’s notoriously fake CV? Other MPs also have faked or partly-faked CVs.
To my mind, Therese Coffey warrants further and deeper investigation. She may be, or may have been, involved in other fakery, fabrication and/or fraud.
Still, it seems now, more than ever, that she fully deserves the title “deadhead“.
Well, there they are— the stupid and ignorant “ho”, Liz Truss, already living on borrowed time as (and merely posing as) Prime Minister, and equally-ridiculous “Secretary of State for Health”, Therese Coffey.

One wonders about the psychology of Therese Coffey, looking at her, and looking at the state of her. A fat and ugly woman, prematurely aged, who gets drunk, spills beer over herself, and smokes cigars while doing it. “Multiple frustrations” would be my armchair psychologist diagnosis.
What does it say about our system of “democracy”, and our system of MP and ministerial selection, that a ghastly and quite possibly evil woman of that sort can become, by a series of “chance” events, a Deputy Prime Minister?
The same goes, of course, for the stupid and ignorant “ho” presently posing as Prime Minister.
Just watched a snippet of Kay Burley interviewing Therese Coffey. It gets more disgraceful every time you see it. Coffey could not give two shits. What a criminal state of affairs having a thing like that as Deputy Prime Minister. No wonder she pretends to be unaware. Horrendous!
Interesting, but not surprising. My assessment of the bitch, from 2019, implied as much.
‘It’s news to me,’ Deputy Prime Minister Therese Coffey says, when asked about UK financial market instability on Sky News this morning. Surely that’s not the line.. https://t.co/j7nx2rrw9R
Had one not seen what has been going on in the governance of Britain since at least 2010, one would perhaps be surprised that someone as totally inadequate, dim, and also amoral as Therese Coffey could ever climb higher than the backbenches.
How will the government pay for the £60 billion black hole?
Therese Coffey says she can't get into "hypotheticals" but growing the economy is essential and the Chancellors will share his plan at the end of the month.
