Well, I don’t think that many imagine that “the virus” is or was caused by 5G, though there seems to be at least some evidence that 5G has deleterious health effects. After all, the public were told for decades that high-tension power lines caused no health problems. Now?

Moving back to “populism”, I think that it is true that mere populism is usually short-lived, built as it is on the shifting sands of public opinion. Without ideological structure, a populist protest movement is a jellybag and cannot create anything lasting. Recently, in the evening, I drove out of the nearby Waitrose store, about a mile or two from my humble home, and a woman crossed the road from the far pavement, riding a pushbike, and almost right in front of me. When I overtook her and looked in the rear view mirror, she and her bicycle were almost invisible even at that short distance, despite some street lighting. Just listening to some Radio 4 politics show. Oh, dear…They interview Margaret Beckett, now a member of the House of Lords. As an MP, an expenses cheat and freeloader who made sure to employ her husband on expenses as well. Finally, an interview with Joanna Cherry, described as “a senior member of the SNP”. I suppose that that is so, but the very idea that the SNP can have a “senior member” is a bit of a joke, bearing in mind that the SNP had only a handful of MPs until 2015.
Joanna Cherry seems another not particularly nice person: a rather bullish lesbian, several of whose Parliamentary staff complained about being bullied, both by her and by her office manager (Joanna Cherry herself was officially exonerated later). OFCOM…these are the people who, with their new regulations about so-called hate speech on television, pose a deadly threat to freedom of expression.
Since its foundation in 2003, Ofcom has clamped down on material likely to incite hatred and violence. It has a statutory duty to protect viewers from harm — which seems fair enough, on the face of it.
But its new regulations go far beyond that.
Ofcom’s definition of ‘hate speech’ — a formula used at first almost exclusively for racism or anti-Semitism — runs as follows: ‘All forms of expression which spread, incite, promote or justify hatred based on intolerance on the grounds of disability, ethnicity, social origin, sex, gender, gender reassignment, nationality, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, colour, genetic features, language, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, property, birth or age.’
I make no apology for quoting at such length, because it’s worth appreciating how mind-bogglingly broad the definition has now become — so broad that it includes almost any vaguely contentious opinion.
To censors and puritans, such as the ‘woke’ witch-hunters who police social media, all this is a gift. Indeed, the new wording might have been deliberately crafted as a Christmas present for professional victims and offence-takers.

The death reported in the above link took place in a place which I know, or did know about 50 years ago.
As a child in the 1960s and as a teenager in the 1970s, I lived (with a 3-year break in Australia) on the outer fringe of Reading, on the border of South Oxfordshire, an area called Caversham Heights [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caversham_Heights], which is only a mile, if that, from the crime scene reported upon. As a 15-year-old, I was a junior member of the Reading Golf Club [https://www.readinggolfclub.com/], which is in or by the nearby suburb of Emmer Green [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmer_Green], and the golf club land abuts that where the crime seems to have taken place.
At the time when I played there, around 1972, there were no other golf clubs in the area. I believe that two others now exist not far away, developed from what were cornfields in 1963, 1970, and even 1977.
I notice from the Daily Mail photos that, since the 1970s, the immediate crime scene area has changed from being rural to being basically suburban. Around the crime scene there now seem to be streets, houses (1980s or 1990s housing, from the look of them), where before there was no housing at all, as I remember.
As to the alleged crime itself, I am loath to comment without knowing more, particularly now that charges have been laid, but what does strike me is the general slide of the UK into criminal violence, spreading out from the urban zoos to areas previously largely unaffected.

I rather see it the other way round: I cannot recall ever sending any tweet or other message to Kamm, but I seem to recall him tweeting once or twice about me…It’s several years ago now, but I am sure that Kamm was either mistaken or lying. As we move towards the very significant year 2022, it can be seen that the groups, cabals or “ruling circles” of the West are gearing up.
The whole “virus” and vaccines narrative has become almost hysterical. Yes, a million people have died “with” this virus (most of whom would have died anyway at or near the same time, from other conditions they had), but that is out of eight thousand million (i.e. 8 billion) human beings on the Earth. One in every eight thousand.
I do not say that “the virus” does not exist. Of course it does. Something like 50,000 have died with it in the UK, out of about 70 million inhabitants (about one death for every 1,400 people in the UK). It is a serious public health problem, but is hardly the Plague or the Black Death.
In much of the UK, the population has been basically unaffected. Anecdotally, I personally do not know a single person who has had “the virus”, let alone died from it. Indeed, as far as I know, I do not know anyone who knows anyone who has had it, even asymptomatically.
It is clear that the virus has been weaponized, across the “West” especially, meaning Europe, North America, Australasia, to corral the population into both obedience to State orders and into being injected with the vaccine(s). The fact that there is already mooted the strong possibility of compulsion or “nudge” semi-compulsion is deeply suspicious.
Leaving aside “the virus” question, we see that the System is also behind the ludicrous “Black Lives Matter” campaign. That too is tied up with large-scale movements, behind which are those same groups or “ruling circles”. The “Great Replacement” of white Europeans both in Europe and across the world. White Genocide.
The “useful idiots” here are of course the “blacks and browns” and other non-whites, as well as the pathetic”antifa” and “anti-racist” types, all used by the System as a battering ram. The blacks think that they are about to take over, whereas they are just being used by transnational tyrants as a catspaw.

The last year in that 33-year cycle was 1989. If one had to pinpoint a year in which “socialism” in various forms died, it would be 1989. After 1989, “socialism” of the old sort lost whatever credibility remained to it.

Within a few years after 1989, a pack of Jews had descended on Russia (and the other republics) and were carpetbagging on an unprecedented scale, buying whole huge industrial sectors for peanuts. Even before 1989, a few pioneer Western corporate lawyers were going to Moscow. The first one resident there was a Jew or part-Jew, UK based and whom I myself later met on a few occasions both in London and overseas.
I recall when Gorbachev, not yet officially the leader, came to London in 1984. The red carpet was quite literally rolled out for him, for example, by large Western enterprises. The next world-historic year will be 2022. I have noticed that if someone such as the actor Laurence Fox expresses scepticism about the present “virus”-related nonsense, such as facemasks, “lockdowns” etc, some tweeter (maybe a doctor, nurse etc) will jump in to accuse him of causing the deaths of patients.
I have never seen similar furious accusations levelled against those who encourage smoking, driving cars, scuba diving, eating too much sugary material, sex with Africans, or other activities linked to increased death rates of people from various causes. Not even deaths from influenza (which is now effectively reclassified as “Coronavirus”, as in “cause of death— Covid19”).

2/2 https://t.co/oe7HVXhQy9 Police seem to need to be reminded every few weeks that Press is free to report and photograph demonstrations. No idea what this number is they ask for. My press card is issued by the NUJ and in 40+ years of reporting I've never hard of such a thing.

I do not share Hitchens’ rose-tinted view of the police, but the real difference between now and, say, 1970-something is that, in the 1970s, only the Special Branch and a few similar parts of the police were politicized. Now? All or almost all are brainwashed multikultis.
