The rest of that thread is unintentionally funny: some Labourite cretin fantasizing about how much better this fake-Labour government would have been had either Liz Kendall (WHAT?!) or (Jesus H. Christ!) Gloria de Piero had become Labour leader! The latter, incidentally, was the useless and brainless TV presenter who became a “Labour-lite” MP in 2010, stepped down as MP in 2019 (knowing she would not be re-elected) and is now, thankfully, all but forgotten.[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloria_De_Piero].

I do not know much about Rod Stewart, but I get the impression that he is someone who does like to give someone a chance. Starmer-stein has had his chance, and continues to do things that make him and Labour either hated or held in contempt, or both.

Needless to say, for me, Reform UK is underwhelming, not really “national”, and is pro-Jewish lobby, pro-Israel, pro-finance-capitalism etc, BUT also the only game in town to crush the existing System party set-up that has been around for so long, certainly since the 1930s, and effectively since about 1900 if not prior to that date.

For me, it scarcely matters that Reform UK is itself basically a germinal System party, because its role is to chuck Labour and Conservative parties into the dustbin of history. After that, we shall see…

Ha. If only! The Russians have rather painted themselves into a corner with the “Nazi” stuff. The fact is that the Kiev regime is basically Jew-Zionist, and allied to Israel. I need Russia to win the war with the Kiev regime, Russia has to win this war, appalling though it is, but it must drop the silliness of some of its propaganda (and also appoint better military and intelligence strategists).

It does not surprise me that Starmer-stein is morally corrupt, and the same goes for quite a few of his MPs (and the “Conservative” ones). What has slightly surprised me over several recent years (since about 2009, when I returned to live full-time in the UK) is how utterly clueless, totally ignorant, so many MPs are, including Cabinet ministers and, indeed, Prime Ministers (Starmer-stein, Liz Truss, Boris-idiot, Theresa May, Cameron-Levita, Sunak, even Gordon Brown).

Unsurprising. A party led by a Nigerian woman who is only here because her parents came to London for her birth (at that time, 1980, anyone born in the UK could later apply for a British passport). Kemi Badenoch is not really British at all. Until she was about 16-17, she had only been here for a day or two after her birth. She was brought up in Nigeria and then the USA. She is alien.

Apart from that, though, imagine a party (“Conservative” by name) which apparently intends to help Starmer-stein, Rachel Reeves, and Liz Kendall pass their social security/”welfare” cuts package, so cruel and unfeeling, and so unnecessary.

Huge amounts of money are wasted on all sorts of nonsense, such as the nuclear-weapons-carrying fighter-bombers the UK is apparently going to waste money buying from the USA. Do the cretins pretending to run this country really believe that Russia, as it now is, wants to invade Western Europe, even invade the UK? The idea is ludicrous.

Meanwhile, the only invasion that matters is continuing: 500-1,000 across the Channel most days now, with a further ~5,000 coming in “legally” as (supposedly) “high-skilled” workers (who never leave), spouses, fiancees, tourists (who never go back), “students” (who never go back) etc. Also, births to non-Europeans already here (about 1,600 births a day occur in the UK, of which the majority now are non-white). Call it a total of about 7,000. Every day…

People spend 13, often 16, sometimes as many as 20 years, in full-time education in this country, and most know FA. Truly radical change needed.

Meanwhile, about ten times that number, maybe even twenty times that number, are entering “legally” as (supposedly) “skilled workers”, “students” (who never go back), “tourists” (who never leave), “fiances/fiancees”, “husbands/wives”, “refugees”, “business migrants” etc.

It is not mere hyperbole to wonder how far this can go before the whole society as we have known it collapses into political and economic instability and then some form of civil or social war.

Even the first two are doubtful. Look at the interference in elections in several countries of the EU. France. Romania. Germany.

Starmer-stein’s repressive Labour Friends of Israel government is itself a nightmare. This blog, however, will fight on, against “the lobby” (((them))), whether in government or elsewhere.

If I had to name just one huge change internationally that has happened in the past 50 years, it would be the economic rise of China, and the social and military-strategic changes which have accompanied that.

This is where we now are. Some Indian woman openly defends the destruction of the UK by migration-invasion, and all “controlled opposition” Matt Goodwin can say is that a few “Iranian terrorists” are among the millions entering the UK (hundreds of thousands on “small boats”, but millions overall).

The few real terrorists among those millions are a small or limited problem that can be dealt with by police, the Security Service, the Secret Intelligence Service etc. The problems caused by the millions of others — housing crisis, water shortages, congested roads and rail, costs of “welfare”, medical services costs, educational costs, ordinary policing, court costs etc— are less easily dealt with.

Those who support migration-invasion are enemies of the people.

The drones were, according to local eyewitnesses, launched not far from their targets. I presume that the FSB (Federal Security Service) will be trying to apprehend and question the drone-launchers.

There may come a time when Putin or those around him decide that the only real obstacle in their path is the city of Kiev. Were Kiev to cease to exist, or be almost destroyed, that would be the end of the Kiev regime militarily, economically, and in pretty much every other way. Of course, the destruction of a city of the size of Kiev would be a tremendous and terrible crime from the humanitarian point of view, a crime on the scale of, indeed on a larger scale than, the WW2 attacks on Dresden, Hamburg, Hiroshima etc by the Anglo-American air forces.

The delays in the court system have been caused in various ways. One is closure of smaller courts. Many county courts where I myself appeared 1992-1996 and 2002-2008 are now no more; Ilford, Penzance, Poole, Bedford, Bodmin, Bow, Trowbridge, Bromley and (I think) Yeovil among them. Even more magistrates’ courts have closed, and some Crown Courts, including some in London (and in which I also appeared at times, especially in the early 1990s).

Actually, the abuse of the legal system by the malicious “Campaign Against Antisemitism” is slightly mitigated by the present delays. For example, after the “CAA” managed to get the dim Hampshire Police and the clueless “Clown” Prosecution Service (CPS Wessex, based at Winchester) to charge me by post in early 2023, the trial (despite being only in the magistrates’ court) did not take place until mid-November 2023, and the sentencing hearing was not held until mid-March 2024. Had the trial been one on a more weighty basis, requiring Crown Court trial, I should be now still awaiting my “day in court”; in fact, it might not have even happened. Many Crown Court trials are never effective, never take place.

The legal adage is “justice delayed is justice denied“. Often true, but in terms of the present repression of free speech, one could say “injustice delayed is injustice denied“…

Younger seems to be part of that UK pseudo-elite at the top of UK affairs which is so featherbedded and isolated from reality—reality as most people experience it in this country— that the same (self-regarding) “elite” constantly get it wrong in every way.

Good point (about Labour), but GE 2024 will be more about judging the Con Party record than supporting the underwhelming Lab promises.

As for Brexit, it might have worked had it been done properly, and still could, were there a real British government in place, and one willing to treat with Russia. Britain could have very cheap oil and gas, and an open market.

I have no idea who the bimbo is, presumably some sort of “journalist” (scribbler). The fall of journalism in this country has been one of the most disappointing developments during my lifetime, I should say.

Once again, it is disturbing to see the number of blank spaces, the result of recent Twitter censorship.

So 1,000 missiles per day? At what point does a state supplying such weapons in such quantities become de facto an active participant in the war?

Of the above news items, the only really immediately significant one is that the tough, indeed brutal, Chechen fighters attached to the Russian effort claim to have taken the city hall of Mariupol, i.e. the central part of the city (pre-invasion population around 450,000).

Morale in at least part of the Russian invasion force has obviously been a problem, which is no doubt why Putin has drafted in the determined and relentless Chechens; it seems that battle-hardened Syrian volunteers, motivated (by money) and experienced, may arrive before too long. That may stiffen the Russian line.

The EU really is a bad joke now. The civilians in the occupied cities are plainly not much afraid of the Russian troops.

The Western arms being sent to the Kiev regime may well result in localized, and even wider, defeats for Russian forces in the short term, but will result either in the Russian high command (historically, the Stavka) committing more troops and equipment to the war (as it now is) or (and/or) using very powerful bombs, missiles and artillery to flatten cities in the south and east of Ukraine and also to attack, from long distances, strategic targets in the west of Ukraine.

So far, the Russians have not much targeted such as railway stations, railway lines, and major road links from neighbouring countries, in the west of Ukraine.

Neither have whatever Putin has in the nature of the old Soviet Spetsnaz forces been used to assassinate the highest-ranking members of the Kiev regime.

In Soviet days, so-called “Olympic Spetsnaz” (many officers of which were or had been athletes in Olympic competition) were assigned to be used against targets of the highest strategic importance— early-warning stations, missile launch sites, nuclear power stations and manufacturing plants, and the assassination of heads of state, heads of government, high-ranking military and naval chiefs etc.

When push comes to shove, Putin is not going to back down. The only question is how far his (it seems not very competent) General Staff and intelligence apparat will back him. As I said weeks ago, Stalin would have been shooting generals and spy chiefs right and left by now.

On Her Majesty’s Not Very Secret Service

I happened to see this 2021 Daily Mail article by Craig Brown [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Brown_(satirist)]: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-10487439/CRAIG-BROWN-spy-licence-tweet-MI6.html.

By chance, if you like, I have just finished reading the 2016 biography, Spymaster [https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/nov/11/spymaster-martin-pearce-mi6-maurice-oldfield], by Martin Pearce, the nephew of the subject. Incidentally, good value; bought used via Amazon— only about £6 even including postage for a hardback copy in almost new condition.

That book is well written, workmanlike, but unexciting. It covers much the same ground as “C”, an earlier and far more interesting study, written in 1985 by “Richard Deacon” [Donald McCormick; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_McCormick], an interesting writer whose books on espionage etc are always very readable.

Deacon’s book delved into Oldfield’s interest in astrology and numerology. For me, that was one of its most interesting areas. The more recent book ignores that area of Oldfield’s mind completely, which I think is a weakness in it.

The strengths of the 2016 book lie in its having more up to date material, and in the fact that the author could tell a few anecdotes about his uncle. Not enough, for me, and having read the earlier book long ago, as well as other material, I found the 2016 book rather derivative.

As for the now-tiresome recounting of what is publicly known about those over-rated people Philby, Burgess, Maclean, and Blunt, for me that was like seeing a merely so-so film for the tenth time.

Other aspects of the intelligence history (and indeed, general history) of the 20thC, I found very shallow indeed, and there were a couple of plain errors.

I don’t want to knock Pearce’s book too much. It is a fairly good read, and worth reading at that, but personally I would not give it more than 3 stars out of 5.

As for that Craig Brown article, I agree with much of what he says, but his points are weakened when he says that, for example, Maxwell Knight [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell_Knight] was “head of MI5“. Perhaps he should have been Director-General [“D-G”], but in fact he never was, though he was ranked as a director of the (then-small) MI5 in the 1920s.

When journalists and other scribblers cannot get basic facts right, it irritates, and makes the reader feel that their opinions are superficial (though, as said, I myself did agree with much of Brown’s article).

Incidentally, Martin Pearce has written but one other book, and that was about the Malayan Emergency [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malayan_Emergency], focussing on its military and intelligence aspects.

I do not know whether Martin Pearce was (or is) in the same line of business as his uncle; neither Amazon nor the dust jacket of Spymaster give any detail at all about his education, residence, hobbies, or occupation.
